The worst doctor on the island! AVOID. Very rude and unprofessional. Has to be dismissed

I dont even believe he is a real doctor, everybody told me he is a ibuprofen Dr. And its absolutely right.

Just called with a simple question and the woman who answered the phone was rude, entirely unhelpful and hung up on me before the call was completed and not once did I catch an attitude or remotely use a rude tone. Ridiculous.

This is an affordable walk in clinic that I have been going to for nearly 20 years and Dr Burton has always been spot on with his diagnoses. The staff has always done their job well and are friendly.If you dont want to wait to be seen go early in the morning because its first come first serve.

The most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. Would not see this doctor if my life depended on it.

At the moment, hes the only civil surgeon on the island who can perform medical exams for immigration purposes. If it werent the case that wed have to return in two days to complete the exam, it wouldve been worth it just to travel to the mainland to have it done the right way.Ive sat in the waiting room with people who were nearly dying, and hardly any attention was given. One guy sounded like his appendix may have been inflamed and there he was doubled over in pain, crying, and it took over an hour for them to realize that the last thing he needed was to see anyone in the back.

I ended going to this office because they took my insurance and accepted walk-ins; bad decision. Walked out feeling like I paid for a bad joke. This doctor is down right condescending, rude, and has no business dealing with people; inappropriate all around. After blowing through some medical issues I wanted to discuss, the whole time answering with his short condescending answers, (and possibly wrong treatment; need to go see a competent dr) he proceeded to try to engage in a political conversation and give a history lesson w/ twisted facts, I told this man two times this conversation is making me uncomfortable and I didnt want to continue this and he continued..... his response was, why do you feel threatened, Im not going to beat you up. There may be something wrong with this man!!! I never felt threatened by this man, just extremely disrespected and irritated. I went in to seek medical assistance and walked away sick at my soul. This man is beyond arrogant, has no social or medical courtesy, and should be looked into by the state medical board like the other reviews have suggested. (Read reviews before going and see where it appears they run out of room for his 1 star line, and many state they had to leave 1 star to leave a review as I did). I feel like i have definitely gotten better treatment and professional courtesy in my travels to third world countries and would suggest anybody seeking medical help to go elsewhere.

Dr. Burton is our family doctor for years. He is has good sense of humor which is especially appreciated with our 9 years old and on the shy side; We like Dr. Burton and his staff for professionalism, willing to help. Good care, a lot of attention and affordable, reasonable prices , these means a lot for a lot of people. Thank you Dr. Burton and staff and Merry Christmas !

Doctor Burton is an awesome doctor. He has some punch lines but never offensive. If you have a sense of humor and would like the care of a dedicated professional come see the good doctor.

Dr Burton is very kind and helpful with a strong wit. His staff is helpful and will take the extra step to make sure everything is taken care of. I had a positive experience here, so I dont really understand the negative reviews.

If I could give no stars thats what hed get from us. We too felt worse after leaving. My fiance has felt sick after a few days of travel and being in the airport etc.We WISH we had read these reviews before going to this guy. We had called ahead and they said theyd get us in quickly. We waited for 42 minutes in their tiny crowded waiting room. When we finally saw the doctor we were grossed out by the exam room...old dirty fixtures, exam table and a box FULL of sharps or needles. The hazardous material box was almost over-flowing. He tested my fiance for strep without telling us that it would be an additional $20 fee. He rolled his eyes at us no less than 5 times. He obviously checked his professionalism at the door. His jokes of malpractice were not funny and very unnerving. His lack of common medical terminology was embarrassing. Any question you ask him is answered with a rebuttal. He is no help. Horrible. You will get the complete run around which is due to his lack of knowledge.

Not a very friendly place to visit. We have to go here sometimes when we dont have time to go north and visit the family near Miami. The doctor looks like he wears an old bathrobe that he tried to pass off as a Dr coat, and the receptionist seems bothered that they have to talk to you. The sole purpose of a receptionist is to be the face of the office, and deal with customer interactions. I think the receptionist should rethink her line of work to something that doesnt require social interactions. Or maybe go out and have conversations with normal people to build up her customer skills. The doctor is not very nice, but I dont think I would be in a nice mood if I had to deal with that receptionist every day.

Excellent family practice physician. If you are looking for a TV doctor that will hold your hand and give you Harvard explanations, go somewhere else....his waiting room is small, antiquated, and busy because he accepts medicare (which was cut to the bone under Obama)...if you want straight up good medical care, Dr Burton will do it.

I was mandated to go into this office for a pre-employment drug screening on August 22, and both the receptionist and nurses aids were very rude. They snickered in hushed tones about how someone in the waiting room smelled awful (there were only two other patients) and talked about how people dont shower in this country. I fessed up that it was most likely me, since I work on a boat in the heat for the majority of the day, and I commented that it must be nice to work in an air conditioned office. The other two patients told me they didnt notice my smell, whether that was just a polite lie, or the truth is up for debate. I didnt have any contact with the doctor, and after this interaction I am adamant about keeping it that way. I know its a small island, and theres not much competition, which is probably why they couldnt care less about their piss poor customer service. I would definitely avoid this place at all costs if you have the means to make it to another facility.

Great dr and easy to get in to see. and good luck getting anything in key west done fast!

DO NOT VISIT BURTON! Have never reviewed someone, but I feel obligated to try to prevent anyone else from suffering through such an awful experience. He is arrogant, pompous, rude, uncouth, incompetent and gave me a wrong diagnosis!!! And when PROVEN wrong he still insisted that he was right because of his advanced age and so-called experience. He is very conceited, talking about himself throughout my exam and absolutely doesn’t listen to patients concerns or questions. He also appears to be racist and misogynistic (even talking about his nurse who is Russian), and completely disrespectful towards his patients. First and last visit!—

I am sitting in here now. I was sent here by my job for a drug test. The office is so disorganized they lost my paper work. Leaving me to wait for 20 min while they figured out what to do. The front staff is a bunch of rude old ladies. I do not suggest any one waste their time or money here there are plenty of other places with kinder staff in the area.

If you call this a doctor then im donald duck because he is a quack!! I had to put at least 1 star or i wouldnt have given any. I recommend you go elsewhere and do you or your loved ones a favor. His license should be taken away or wouldnt even trust him as a vet!!!

Usually when the staff is rude and not greet-able its not a good sign. So here comes the doctor.. He was very rude and he showed signs of me wasting his time.. He was complaining how late it was and that he was closing, he rolled his eyes when I was talking to him asking questions and he gave me just very rude and dirty looks along with rude facial expression when asking questions..cocky..The reason I went to this office is because my insurance sent me here and I needed to fill a prescription, he filled out a piece of paper, and said allrighty here you go..didnt explain about anything and walked away..Not even a have a good day or bye. I went to the pharmacy and the front counter associate said the doctor didnt fill my prescription. Seriously? I called him and he gave me the worst attitude ever and started arguing with me!! I said I wish you gave me details or at least discussed about this because I wouldnt be here.. His reply..Well we didnt discuss about todays weather, now did we. Seriously?? Are you kidding me? Very unprofessional and disgusted... I will NOT recommend anybody to this doctor. For anybody who is going to see this doctor, I would go somewhere else, dont waste your time or you will get the same experience I had.

Extremely unprofessional. Numerous contacts made with Christy on faxing medical records over, and to clarify an asinine statement he made on a report, and he or she never called back. Even sent a contact letter breaking it down to an 8th grade level on what was needed, still incapable of assisting. Strongly recommend going elsewhere and finding a true medical professional.

He does not care about his patients. Do not waste your time and cancel your appointment. Please trust me.
