This is a get what you pay for center, and there is a reason why they are the only daycare in town that always has immediate openings. Be prepared to do their jobs for them in terms of both classroom and behavior management - phone calls home and picking up your child in the middle of the day because they dont want to properly or dont know how (or both) to manage a classroom. Save yourself a lot of grief and spend a few bucks more somewhere else for both a better experience for you, and more importantly, your child.

I had a somewhat unprofessional tour and was nervous to send my child here. They did not explain curriculum well, policy, what older classrooms were like (my son was starting as an infant), unlike what other centers did. I needed a daycare arrangement in the next few months however, so I didn’t listen to my gut instinct. When I picked up my son from his first day of daycare, his onesie was crusty in the front because it had become drenched with his spit up and the staff left him in it so long it dried until it was hard. I broke out into tears and sobs when I saw this. How could they leave a three month old in wet, disgusting clothes for hours and let it dry that way? I left a spare outfit at daycare in case situations like this occurred!! I spoke to management and they seemed surprised that I would want him changes if his clothes were wet. I was shocked! I should have pulled him out right then and written to the state about the incident, but instead I kept him there for six months thinking it would get better.I wouldn’t say it got worse but it didn’t get much better. My son liked to eat more frequently than every 2.5 hours, but staff stuck to the schedule despite his crying. Often when I would pick him up, I would feed him the extra bottles left from the day in my car or the lobby. He often cried when he saw me, maybe because he was hungry.Staff feedback wasn’t great. I would usually get a “it was a good day” or a “bad day” but when I did get feedback, it was odd. One time one of the teachers told me he needs to play better with the other babies. I looked confused, he was only 8 months old and the infants don’t interact much with each other yet except to steal toys from each other. I didn’t ask for clarification because she wasn’t even his primary teacher. The school also claims they teach Baby Signs, but they do not so don’t get your hopes up. Teachers don’t have time to. There is a 4:1 ratio for babies to teacher and the teachers are constantly busy going from one baby to the next so they can’t play or interact with your infant. Infants also are left to cry for longer periods of time than I feel comfortable with and I wonder if they have enough floaters to come in as support, or if they even call people in for support. This may also be a general policy for all daycares, but my child contracted hand foot and mouth disease from their facility (no one in my family had it) and we still had to pay for the daycare days he could not attend due to it, which was an entire week.I ended up pulling my child from here and quitting my full time job partially due to this place, but also partially due to personal reasons. I cried many nights over some of the treatment I saw via the webcams (not abusive, but why is my child being ignored for two hours when I pay so much every day for him to attend?) and don’t regret it.I would not send your infants here, but the older children often looked happy, if it makes some parents feel better.

Management is very unprofessional. They promise to teach your child but corporate does not encourage teachers to teach lesson plans. Corporate thinks daily circle time is too much for children to learn. If you want your child to learn and be safe this is not the daycare for you. On the other hand it is a pretty safe place to send your child if you just want a center to change diapers and watch your kid crawl around. If you want your child to learn how to eat with a spoon, play with toys properly, know his/her ABC’s, and count to ten this is not the daycare for you.

We came to Adventures Learning Centers in Kentwood after leaving a competing center that we felt was not giving our son the attention and stimulation that a developing mind needs. Adventures is literally the best day care I have ever seen, and I place the term day care in quotes because it is so much more than that; it is more of a school that takes the development and growth of every single child as its first priority. My wife and I are both busy professionals and Adventures Learning Centers worked with our specific schedules to ensure our needs were met. Since arriving at Adventures Learning Centers in June, our son has had a dramatic increase in his cognitive, motor, verbal, and social-spatial development. They use Zoo Phonics, which is a brilliant system to teach words and reading skills. Our son is well ahead of the curve in his development for his age in all areas, and I credit Adventures Learning Centers for much of that development. The manager, Jenni, is also fantastic to work with and it is very clear she is passionate about maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all of the children in their care.

If there was an option to give 6 stars, I absolutely would! My 3-year-old son has been attending ALC 4 days a week for nearly a year and he has learned so much. Within weeks he was starting to sing songs from “school”, tell me what he was learning, counting, and all kinds of other things. The teachers he has had are absolutely phenomenal. They engage in conversation, play, care for, teach, and truly love the kids in their classes. The center has an amazing atmosphere and outstanding staff. I highly recommend looking into ALC :)

Management is great but the staff do not know how to work together which causes poor communication. This is not terrible if your kids are older and can speak for themselves but in my case, my son was a couple months old went hours without a bottle.

Upon arrival for our tour I wasnt entirely sure how things would be. When walking into the center I felt as if the staff wasnt as personable as they should be when it comes to inquiring about someone caring for a child. Every piece of info was given to us with in 5 minutes with minimal detail, which felt unprofessional. While visit the potential classroom for our son the floor was dirty, crumbs and dirt covered the Lego play table AND CLEANING PRODUCTS OUT IN REACH OF CHILDREN. I was very disappointed & after visiting several other facilities realize that this is the ongoing word of mouth regarding this facility.Room for potential-absolutely!Possibly understaffed and over capacity-questionable!A place I would send my child-no thank you!

One of the caregivers of my infant was sleeping on the job and cussing at other infants.
