First of all you are greeted with smiles, yes smiles, from just about everyone who is not with a customer. The staff is so friendly, you feel as though you have known them forever. Nice, nice, and more nice. Then, there is the doctor. He is outstanding. Really liked him and he was very informative and careful. Now, what is unbelievable is that I was not made to feel that I needed new lenses right now but that I was okay at present. Now, that is exceptional. Love these folks.

DR. KRIEGE AND STAFF ARE GREAT!I HATE THE LOCATION!! HAD TO CIRCLE THE PARKING LOT MANY TIMES BEFORE A SPOT CAME AVAILABLE. HAVING HEALTH ISSUES ISNT A GOOD THING TO HAVE TO PARK A LONG DISTANCE AWAY.

This appointment and purchase was for my husband. Love that Shopko optical stayed!! My only complaint….not a very large selection and updated trends. My husbands frames look a little large on his face. I didn’t notice this on Jon when we ordered them. I wished they were a little smaller fit. I need to still go over the invoices because the price seemed high and my insurance wasn’t applied. Would promotions apply after insurance or I wonder if it’s one or the other? Hmmm

I was an employee in Shopko retail back in the day. Im so relieved that optical still exists. Friendly environment, experts in the field and top quality customer service. My insurance is out of network for shopko optical now and I dont mind paying a little extra knowing that Im being well taken care of

My appointment was on 3 August 2021. I was amazed at the lengths the employees went to help out customers. One customer left the store and her vehicle wouldnt start. One employee retrieved jumper cables from her vehicle while another employee went outside and found a man to try and help get the vehicle started. The jump didnt work so the customer called a towing company to pick up her vehicle and drop it off somewhere for her. Still ANOTHER employee either drove the customer home or called her husband and HE drove the customer home! I couldnt believe it! Not that that didnt show EXCELLENT customer service, but I felt it was ABOVE AND BEYOND and that MOST other businesses would NOT have done all that. I brought in a pair of glasses that Id purchased at Ayers Eye Care in Kenosha, that Id had since 2018 and hadnt been able to WEAR all that time, as they couldnt fix the frames so they wouldnt fall off my face when I bent forward. They ended up ordering another set of ear pieces at my expense, thinking that would solve the problem. It didnt and I ended up buying two different types of rubber pieces to put ON the ear pieces in the hopes they would keep them from falling off my face. Neither type helped the situation at all, so the glasses sat for two years without my being able to wear them (and they WERENT inexpensive, either!). And Ayers Eye Care didnt even ask me if I wanted to exchange the glasses for a different style since it was obvious I couldnt use them! I asked one of the technicians at Shopko Optical if they could think of anything that might fix those frames for me. She took the frames and after maybe two minutes maximum, she had them tightened and now I can wear them!! And she said there would be no charge, even though I hadnt purchased them at Shopko Optical!!! That was BY FAR the BEST experience Ive EVER HAD at an eye doctor appointment!!! So now Im VERY glad that Ayers Eye Care is NOT a place that accepts my insurance, and that Shopko Optical IS a place that accepts it!!!

After I checked in for my appointment, my exam started immediately and I was done with the first part of the exam before my exactly scheduled time. I was very impressed by that and thought, wow this isnt going to take long at all. Unfortunately, I had to wait an hour after my eyes were dilated to see the Doctor for the second time. Should of been within 20 minutes after given the eye drops, but there was only one Doctor scheduled and it got very busy. Not sure if they have more than one Doctor working for them or not, but if they do. They need to have two Doctors schedule at a time. Also, I had to wait a month to have this appointment. Dont mind waiting a couple of weeks, but a month is a long time. For these reasons, I gave them 4 stars.

Ive never had such a great experience at an eye doctors office. The staff especially Jane was so wonderful. She was very attentive, and wasnt rushing me out of the office. She was very wonderful, made the experience even more better!

The staff was so nice and friendly..and very clean and nice store. Only. Prob it seamed a little pricey. Like the 75 bucks was enough. But to add another 25 bucks for another test..and also recommended by eye doc to compete his eye exam. Well why isnt that (other eye test exam) is not included in THE EYE EXAM.... just seamed like a way to make another 25 bucks.....when I went to sams club it was 65 bucks. And this (other test) was included in the eye exam like it should be...

The staff are very knowledgeable and efficient, as well as courteous. And the Dr.is very thorough, polite and is a awesome optometrist!

Glasses I received did not fit the way the identical frames in the store did. Store personnel tried to tell me they were identical; they were not. The frames on my glasses are larger and the fit was too loose. To compensate, they reshaped the over-the-ear section to tighten up the fit. The frames arent comfortable and arent what I ordered. I tried to wear them, but am very dissatisfied. I will be returning them for a refund.

My insurance was unexpectedly ending and the staff was able to fit me in for my annual eye exam and contact order so that I would be covered. Excellent customer service!

The lady that was helping. Seem like I was bothering help when I told her I was unable to see clearly for which fames I wanted.

We went there for our yearly exam wife was having problems with double vision after exam doctor said cataracts were ok and only needed glasses. A few weeks later went to a doctor and he had her get a brain scan for the double vision all checked out ok and sent her to a optometrist that doctor said she had cataracts and needs surgery. HOW DID HE MISS THAT WHEN HE TESTED HER FOR CATARACTS. I GUESS THEY JUST WANT TO SELL GLASSES.Had the surgery and no double vision seeing great now.WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SHOPKO AGAIN WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

This was a great experience. Everyone is very friendly. My husband and I both had gotten exams and glasses but we werent there for very long- the entire process went fairly quick. I believe we worked with someone named Todd, he was extremely helpful. He was knowledgeable and explained everything to us very well. He even made separate recommendations for us since we both have different prescriptions. We will definitely continue to come here for anything else we may need in the future!!

I understand the covid questions however please stop asking if someone is fully vaccinated. That is a personal choice and you are invading on privacy. Monday, May 10, 2021: Optician Rachel and Optometrist Dr. E. Somers were both fantastic. Rachel assisted me through the entire processes of ordering lenses, frames, ordering additional sample contact lenses for me and answering all my questions on insurance coverage. Dr. Somers was very engaging I could tell that she really cared about her patients and she worked with me to get my prescription exactly right.

From start to finish the staff at Shopko Optical did a great job! Would go back!

I wanted to put 5 stars because I had a good experience but the only reason I didnt is because it was so crowded. There were so many people in a small area and I could barely find someone to help me. Other than that, they did a good job following the guidelines. The prices were extremely affordable.Edit: they completely messed up my prescription. Dont go there. They are too busy to pay attention to everything and they were not nice when I mentioned they messed up. Ridiculous

Went in for a contact exam a few months ago..the price was fair about $100...the only problem is I still cant see. I have gone here at least 4 times and never was diagnosed with astigmatism. Thankfully I went somewhere else who actually took their time on me and now I can finally see. Being able to drive at night,work, see the t.v. is something I will never take for granted again

5 stars, fair, quick and reliable for years. One time I rubbed my eye and the contact folded and slid under my eyeball. After a full day at work *cringe* I went to see him and he removed it and said have a nice day. No fee or charge, just an awesome eye Dr.

Horrible place! Twice they rescheduled an eye exam for my son without even calling him. First time he showed up and was told that it was moved to the following week. The second time he called on the day of to confirm his appointment and again was told they moved it to the following week! What is wrong with those people???? Terrible lack of service and would never ever recommend this place!!!!

NOT very accommodating for customers!! i have never had an optical place make me pay a percent down just to order contacts. I have been using contacts for 20+ years! I used to go to Thomas Eye Care, just call and order and pick up and pay, no problem, if i did not have cash for a few days, no problem, they would give me trials to get me thru till pay day. Not Shopko!!! Does not seem like they really care at all. Let me be blind for a week, cannot drive without contacts. Cant go to work if i cannot see. Would not go to Shopko at all!!!

I had the worst experience and I will never return. It all began by setting up my appointment. When I called the lady was so rude and unprofessional that I should have never set the appointment in the first place but I was desperate. I go in to have my eye exam which that part was fine. I sat down with the female assistant and we were going over prices. Due to lack of communication I thought I just had to pay 25% of my glasses bill and I could go. That is incorrect. You have to pay 25% of the entire Bill including your eye exam. So I only had $350 on my HSA account. That wasnt enough to cover 25% which I still dont understand. The lady had to cancel the transaction so she asked her manager for assistance. I believe the manager was Dr. Kriege. Instead of this man coming over to talk to me about what the issue was he decided to yell at his assistance across the eye doctors office that I had no money in my account and he didnt know what she wanted him to do to help me out. I had an elderly woman sitting next to me and its Panic lady at the front counter which we all stopped and looked at him incredulously. Once he came into my vicinity I politely explain to him how rude and inappropriate his actions were and he made me feel really small. His response was Im sorry but I was going to ask you if you had more money on your account. I told him theres no reason at this point to ask me what type of money I have do to your rudeness. So I had to borrow an additional $60 on top of the $350 I still had to pay in order for me to leave the eye doctors office. Then I had to pick up my two pairs of glasses. Picked up the first pair fine. Call to pick up the second pair same lady was so rude again to me and was snotty stating that they had already called me and I need to come pick it up. As I stated before I will never ever go to the Shopko ever again and I will make sure that if any of my friends decided to go let them know how rude the service is and its not even worth your time. and additional $60 on top of the $350 I still had to pay in order for me to leave the eye doctors office then I had to pick up my two pairs of glasses picked up the first pair by call to pick up the second pair Sam lady was so rude again to me and was snotty stating that that already called me and I need to come pick it up as I stated before I will never ever go to this Shopko ever again and I will make sure that if any of my friends is size go let them know how rude the service is and its not even worth your time. If you want to know what my bill was including my insurance discounts was $469.72. B*******.
