Nice friendly staff with Mr Hernandez being outstanding with his service. The only bad review that I will give is that when you go and pick your glasses on the shelf. You need to wait again bc the representative is helping someone else.I think that they should wait a couple of minutes before taking another customer .So you wait when you come in and wait again once glasses are chosen bc everyone is busy…

Im not sure where all the bad review come in , nobody has ever been rude to me here . Just went today again to order new glasses for my son, everyone was nice and the gentleman that helped me was very helpful on what I needed and to save the most money. I am happy with the experience

Id highly recommend this place the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate my brother who was in a wheelchair with no problem at all. The price was fantastic a free eye exam and two pairs of glasses for 69.99. I have vision insurance from work which I did not use because it would have cost me more if I had. I expressed to the manager how wonderful this place was and how I am referring all of my customers at my job there and she was thrilled. She gave me a bag of pens and eyeglass cloths to give to my customers. They also have a huge selection of very nice glasses that it was hard to decide which two I wanted. Go to their website and you will see the selections they even have a virtual camera to see how you would look in color contacts and I believe glasses too but Im not sure. Id give them more stars if I could its really a no-brainer to go there.

I had my eye exam two weeks ago and ordered glasses that same day. Today I called them to find out if my glasses were ready and they put me on hold for literally 10 min. I decided to hang up and call again, the second time the girl told me my glasses were ready; they never notified me. When I went to pick up my glasses they asked me to sit down and had me there waiting for a very long time. The girl finally comes out from the back and starts helping someone else who had gotten there after me. I still waited patiently until I heard the lady complaining she got the wrong glasses. I decided to leave even though I wanted the frame adjusted. I was very frustrated with the service.

I initially thought that this was a great bargain for someone who has to wear glasses but the frames are poorly made and they break very easily I spend more time at the store getting them replaced and repaired than they are on my face I highly recommend that you spend an xtra few dollars to get quality than quantity it’s just not worth the aggravation.

I can not say enough great things about this store! After my nightmare experience with the Woodbridge location. I decided to give Americas Best 1 more try. I came into the Kearny location and everyone was extremely helpful, friendly & patient. I was helped by Kiara, Mike Hernandez, Crystal, Juan & Paola they all went above and beyond for me thank you guys!

Please do not come here if you have a serious concern with your eyes. i came for a new prescription and complained of blurry eyesight. the optometrist brushed me off and i left. a few weeks later i decided to go for a second opinion and was diagnosed with a tumor in my eye.

I had an appointment. I showed up on time and the girl at the front desk was very rude. She insisted that Wasnt covered. I left and placed a phone call to my insurance and actually proved she was incorrect. She was just very rude even with her responses. This delayed my time and i actually ended up leaving because i was running late for work. I booked an appointment at a different location.

I had a terrible experience here. The staff was rude, and after my appointment I had to wait over twenty minutes just to pay my copay. I told the woman I was not interested in buying contacts and she yelled at me. Eye rolling, rude tones, and horribly understaffed. Every customer in the store was upset and feeling similarly to me. I would never recommend someone coming here!

I will never go back there again ever . I went to get my contacts and glasses at the Kearny office in March and I spent 1000 on two pairs of glasses and contacts that I was not able to see with .When I went back to get it corrected I was told it was too late it had been over a month and that there was nothing they could do .I couldn’t see with my contacts either but had to adapted to the prescription of my contacts because I could not see and I really needed them because my prescriptions is -4.00 And I couldn’t go back right away because I had had surgery and was not able to drive to get there . I was told they could do nothing I’m so frustrated because I have nothing for the money I paid except 2 pair of glasses and contacts that never worked. I really hope everyone sees this and takes my warning because all they want is your money . 🤬🤬🤬

They are horrible, very unprofessional. I’ve called because I did business with them and I needed to replace my glasses and they kept trying to sell me new ones when I was within my warranty, then when I go to receive my glasses (that I got through my warranty) they had the nerve to rush me because they close within an hour. Super unprofessional and honestly will not be going there nor recommending anyone to them.

On 10/15/20 - I called the Kearny location to inquire if they accept my insurance. In which I was told no and I asked the price for the eye exam and the lady that answer the phone rudely answered my question with an attitude. I asked her what was the earliest appointment and she told me to check the website and hung up. I will not be checking the website for an appointment. With that type of attitude I wonder the type of customer service I will receive in person. Not Interested!! If you want customers to come in you really need to provide your staff with some customer service training on how to answer the phone or they will turn off all potential callers.

I will never go to an Americas Best Contacts and Eyeglasses again! I purchased glasses and insurance for repairs if broken 6 months ago. Ive lost my glasses and they say they cant even put my prescription in another frame! Lost a customer for life!!!!!!

I had an appointment with them on 31 August so I did glasses and contacts the doctor prescribe me the contacts when I wore it my eyes were so irritated and red by this contact lens and I have difficulties taking them out little did I know that this contact was small when I went back she examined my eye again and then she told me that the contacts are a bit small then she prescribe a new sample which didn’t came close to a month I had to call and find out if the sample is ready to pick up then at the same day I went to pick it up I was told I need to try it on OK I try it on and I was told that doctor Mind this is a different doctor that saw me from the last time she had no idea what was going on with my eyes she kept asking me why did you change the lens I try to explain to her why that the first doctor the lens that the first doctor give me was too small on my I was very irritated and very red and take me a long time to remove it . Then the doctorTold me that I need to try it out for a week I am trying to tell her that I can’t see in these So I told her that I’m leaving and I remove it then I went outside then when I came back I ask for my paperwork to show that I was here then I’m gonna go to a different doctor so I need my file then some baldheaded guy came and he was like I’m sorry I cannot give you your file because the doctor did not sign off on my file because I refuse to wear the lens yes I refuse to wear the contacts because I can’t see in them And she doesn’t wanna listen so what I’m saying this is the worst experience So yeah and the doctor even wrote a note saying that I refused to wear the contacts that was prescribed PS I did wore that contacts for 30 minutes and And I couldn’t see!!! I’ll tell you one thing I should’ve listen when my mom said she couldn’t see with her glasses that she went to get a few months ago at the same location … so yeah that’s my experience at American Best in Kearny I wish there was a negative start to giveI was there with my husband and I did feel discriminated because they just let me in and They told my husband to stay outside which was fine because I understand the corona situation but right behind me in the same line they were another couple and they let them in I guess our skin colors are different so that’s why they were like you go outside only one person come in right now so if that’s not discrimination what is?

I visited this location to simply fix a screw in my glasses, however that’s not the reason for this review. While in the store, a woman came to pick up her new glasses and realized the store accidentally ordered the wrong pair. The staff (particularly the optometrist) was so accommodating and made sure the woman left with a pair of glasses and notified her that she would receive the pair she ordered within the next few days. I was incredibly impressed by the way in which the situation was handled. Definitely plan on returning to this location. Well done.

I work in the same complex and although I havent been to this location for my glasses, I definitely am not drawn to. There is one worker I have encountered a couple times with an extremely foul attitude. As someone who also works in the customer service aspect, I would hope she doesnt speak or talk to her patients the way she does to my coworkers and I. Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant...especially for someone working within a medical field aspect. Definitely recommend doing better.

Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I came 15 minutes before schedule and I was taken cared of 45 minutes later even though the store was not packed. They did very minimal test on my eyes, not the usual thorough annual tests I got from my doctors back in Westchester, NY. Tookthem forever to write my prescription. Glasses selection is limited. Overall, not a good experience.

They gave me wrong prescription & very cheap glasses. You wont get real eye test. I see better without the pairs they gave me . wish I could give 0 stars. Take your money & go to a real eye doctor. You can thank me later. the Employees are nice & friendly but your eyes are more important.

This place i will never visit again they are liers and thieves they acted like they used my insurance and it wasnt they messed up on my prescription i needed bifocal for reading which they didnt put then when I went back they want me to pay for them to correct my glasses that they messed up on then they put in system that i declined my bifocal, why would I do that and i need that in order to read they are a bunch of crooks and liers and i will never ever use them again nor would I ever recommend them to anybody THEY ARE THE DAMN WORST now i have to take my glasses somewhere else and get fixed which im glad i found a good place thats willing to use my insurance company and make me new lenses

I felt discriminated from the door I went with my father they told me I had to wait outside I said ok even tho they allowed other people to be paired. The young lady came out told me I could come in now but when we where about to sit this lady came up to her and said that I couldnt sit with him. I asked the young lady why she wasn’t allowing me and allowed it for the others in the office she apologized and told me she doesn’t know why, I said thank you and I will not be shopping here and left.

I will highly recommend this place to my friends and family . Everyone was very helpful! The receptionist by the name of Jessica was very friendly , kind , and helpful. I asked a lot of questions and she was very patient and answered them all with a great attitude. She’s great! & the female manager was also very nice too. Overall everyone was good .

For starters they don’t accept a lot of insurances. I recently went to go get some glasses. Now I know my prescription is low but I was told by my doctor that getting some glasses would help with my slight at times blurry vision and migraines. So I went to go see a place where I can get glasses. I saw the promotion that America’s best glasses was having so I went in and gave it a try.I went in the place wasn’t busy at all so I decided to give it a try. I went in the front desk girls weren’t as welcoming and didn’t really try to get new customers. Furthermore I waited for a while having no one there so I can get seen the x ray tech was nice I paid extra for the extra exams which was at a low cost and it’s always better safe then sorry. Had no complains up then and there. Then I waited for the doctor she had me do some test. When I finished she really didn’t tell me much about what was wrong just said I had a slight poor vision nothing extreme and excused me. I had to ask her how my extra exams came out she said it was okay then I asked why is that I get some headaches at times when I am in bright light areas for a long time. She said it could just be the activities or what I have eaten depends on what I did that day is what causes my migraine pain. I just agreed to it and went to see the types of glasses they carry. I didn’t get help till about 15min after I already picked out the glasses they were just all sitting around talking. Then I got helped now the lady who helped me pick out glasses was nice. No complains with her. Then I went to do my order with her and I was told to get the anti glare so it can help me with the bright light situation. So I purchase it. I finally got my glasses back today after a week and half and I feel like I got ripped off on my glasses. I was here thinking I would get the glasses where they turn dark when in bright areas or at least help me with the glare I personally don’t see a change . I’m not so pleased with my glasses even though I have a low prescription I don’t think the glasses help at all.In the end if you want to purchase glasses for help on anti glare or bright areas this isn’t the place to go I would suggest to go somewhere else with more experience staff. Also the cases there transparent and not even a cloth to clean the glasses . I mean I guess you get what you pay for.

Dont believe the hype I should have stuck with the optometrist Ive been seeing since I was a child but against my better judgment I went here hoping I can get better frames but its all BS they would prefer you not use insurance because they want you to spend unnecessary money. They also want to tell you about special offers that will cost you additional money. Things you dont need. Any way my frames were ready less than a week and what I received is trash cheap glasses I could get better at a drugstore they dont give a case or glass cleaner these are the things I received from my longtime optometrist. Instead you get a plastic case, in a plastic bag to go along with your cheap plastic glasses. Lesson learned I will never go back here or any commercial business for eye care.

I went into this store about 2 weeks ago. As soon as i walked in i was greeted immediately, the front desk receptionist is very sweet and helpful. I then met with the tech and she was also very sweet. The doctor took her time with me and gave detailed info about my exam. The female manager was so helpful, she walked around and helped me pick the perfect glasses. The two sales associates at the front were wonderful!! Jaleeah took very good care of me. Overall the experience here was great and i will recommend everyone i know here. :)

I was hesitant to go here at first since I thought the optometrist would just be “okay” and just treat me as a customer rather than a patient. I was completely wrong. She really listened to my issues and how I wanted monovision with my contacts like I have with an old pair of glasses. She was completely open to it compared to a supposed professional ophthalmologist I saw in New York who wanted to argue with me about what monovision is rather than offer me a solution. I highly recommend this place for your daily eye needs (eg eye glasses and contacts).

This place is great. Thankfully I didnt read any bad reviews before coming here.Personally I think those bad reviews are from people that are too shy to ask questions during their visit. You want to know something. Ask for it. You got offered something. Ask about it. Also, you get what you paid for, they have a huge and I mean HUGE wall full of glasses with prices, you try them on, feel them out, it really shouldnt be a surprise of what you get once you receive your glasses....you picked them.Anyways my experience was great called in the morning as a new patient and was able to book an appointment for the afternon. The wait was minimum and everyone was very attentive. Just while I was waiting around I saw a couple of the girls help out customers pick their glasses. My helper Crystal was the best she saved my face from a bad frame and they told me all about the lens options I had. And when they offered antiglare and I wasnt quite sure what it was. I ASKED. Antiglare is for light reflection such as driving at night, if you dont know now you know....So many options and great service cant wait to pick up my glasses!

Not impressed. I purchased two pairs of glasses and the second pair is still unwearable. As they sometimes must do, the optician tried to balance / adjust this pair but was only marginally successful. They are still crooked on my face; they look ridiculous. In fact, I dont know why I was allowed to leave the store with that pair of glasses in the first place. I didnt have the sense that they were committed to fixing the problem. I was rushed out.

Bad experience, feel cheated.Had my eye check up done, gave my old frames to get new lens done and fit. I told I will give another frame (newer one) once the first one is ready to have lens created for that as well. Was told by the store representative that I would get 20% discount on the second lens price.Once the first lens was ready and I picked it up, I was told they changed their company policy - “no more working on older frames, we get more than 1000 frames a day, so tough to manage ”.At this era, managing 1000 items which get shipped with bill is not Tough !!!Couldnt you say the company policy the first time I came in ? I would have gone to a better place. Deceiving customers is not a good practice to follow.DisappointedUpdate - it was not a question of whether the frames were good. Both of my frames are RayBan worth more than 200 bucks each. As pointed above, the frame quality is not the reason I was told

They are very unprofessional. My daughter called and said, she will come late picking up her contacts. They young lady she spoke to said, it was fine. We get there at 6:50pm their sign stated, Monday-Friday9:00am-7:00pm.The young lady allowed my daughter to stand for ten minutes and said no. Please go some where else. I wish we were advised to come the next day. I would not have wasted 30mintues of my life on a blink trip.

Thus far my experience was ok. The only thing is they do NOT accept most insurances. They offer you their specials which its a membership club which covers the exams and some glasses.The optician is young and seem nice.If you have glaucoma or have severe eye problems I would recommend to see someone with more knowledge and years of experience.I went there to tried my sample contacts and it was a bad experience. I was told to try them and have a sit in the back area to see the doctor. After 20-30 minutes no one came to check if I was seen by the doctor. As I walk out the optician was in the front sitting and just chatting with a sale representative.Ive called to cancel my membership club and I do not wish to follow up with Amercas Best in Kearny.

I called this place to ask if my glasses were ready, they told me yes . I paid for a lyft to pick my glasses up, and when I got there, they could not find them and then told me they just weren’t there. I lost money because of this . Highly disappointed 🤦🏾‍♀️

I just called to ask if they accept my insurance and if not, how much is an eye exam. The young lady who answered was unpleasant and appeared to be too busy to answer any other questions I had. Too bad, I really wanted to try them out. Maybe Ill call another location.

Horrible attention and when you call to find out about the glasses, they say a moment and more than 15 minutes waiting, until you call from another cell and there if they responded quickly. I do not recommend it, they do not know how to have GOOD CUSTOMER TREATMENT.
