I received a refund for a veneer procedure performed by Gary Morgan. What was most aggravating was that Gary Morgan performed a three quarter crown reduction for a tooth that was supposed to be prepared for a veneer. And he had been explicitly told to not reduce the tooth further. Gary Morgan comes across as nice and gives indications that he is listening to patient concerns but this is not the case. It was after I visited another dentist in order to correct Morgans procedure that I discovered that Morgan had not followed instructions.

Immaculate lobby with a warm getting from the staff that set the tone for the time spent here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that had answers for all the questions I had. Dr. Mace was very thorough in the examination and explaining how he would be performing the procedure. His professionalism and demeanor calmed the anxiety my daughter had coming into the office visit. Very quick to get get me into get an appointment to examine a bad tooth .Dr.DeLuca and her assistant Holley were very nice and got right to the problem. I had temporary fix and came back about a month later to get an extraction and get a temporary bridge . The office experience was very good. The staff is very courteous and professional.The online reminders/notifications/etc are totally overbearing and extremely annoying. I have appointment cards that do all the reminding I need. This cell phone and internet interaction needs to be scaled back a lot! I first went for an appointment as I had a cap fall off. I am admittedly anxious about the Dentist but Dr. Scott and his Assistant were so great with me. They took time to explain what they were going to do and made the process efficient. Further, I needed a follow up appointment and I forgot about it as I had a death in my family. Dr. Scott personally reached out to make sure I was okay after noticing I missed my appointment and offered nothing but condolences, and waived my no show fee. 1st experience was really good, they fit me in promptly and even got me started having arrived early. They are very good at following thru to see if you are in fact keeping your appointment.I was in pain, and they were very nice about keeping me comfortable. While they arent cheap, the cost of the visit was reasonable.I will be returning soon for a second issue and follow up on the first.Staff was very personable and, again, courteous despite Pandemic, world craziness, etc.

I have been to a few dentists over the years and no one has been an helpful as Plaza Dental. They listened to my issues and offered many suggestions to fix my pain issue. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. I used to hate going to the dentist, but not any more.

The hygienist, receptionists, and Doctor Wilcko were all very good with my 11 year old son. The hygienist was very patient with him and very friendly. I’ve always been impressed with the professionalism and quality of care I’ve gotten from Westport Plaza Dental. Even more so now after coming in for an appointment, fresh off the COVID-19 shut down. They have put in place multiple procedures to ensure safety for patients and staff. I’m sure people, like me, could be a little nervous going to an appointment, whether dental or medical, because of the pandemic. After experiencing my appointment yesterday, I can wholeheartedly say I was in safe hands and there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Thank you for all you do!

Incompetency or something more serious? I came in this morning because a cap on one of my molars was loose. This has happened before when I lived in Denver (just moved here to KC) and all they had to do was clean the tooth stump and glue it back on. He tried to take the cap off but was not able to and we agreed to leave it on until I come back as he wanted to give me a round of antibiotics. He then took an x-ray and came back telling me the tooth was infected and swollen. I thought it was weird because it came loose three days ago when I was flossing, not really a lot of time for an infection to develop. He gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and told me to come back in a week to get the cap put on. About an hour later, he called to tell me he forgot to tell me that he needs to refer me to a specialist for them to redo the root canal (tooth previously had a root canal). I inquired about this and he said it needs to be done because the tooth is swollen and infected based on his assessment of the x-ray and his office does not do root canals. He said he would go ahead and put in the referral to a specialist (Im assuming he knew who he was going to refer me to). I let him know I think it is suspicious he did not mention this to me earlier and he is now referring me to a specialist. He immediately stated he does not get paid by the specialist for referrals. I never mentioned getting a kickback, a bit odd he would immediately state this. However, I used to be a financial statement auditor and have a certificate in forensic accounting, so I may be more suspicious due to professional experience. I called another dentist and they asked to have the x-rays emailed to them for a second opinion. After their assessment, they called me back to let me know the dentist stated the x-rays were too poor quality and did not include the root, so an assessment on their part could not happen. They asked me to come in today and the dentist there would do an x-ray for free for a professional assessment. After this dentist assessed the x-ray, he said 100% there was no infection, it was not swollen, and nothing needed to be done to the root canal as it was a very clean root canal. He took the cap off and glued it back on. Luckily, I had not started the antibiotics, as taking antibiotics when not needed has been proven to potentially lead to immunity against them. With my experience in auditing, I will be doing the following: requesting them to not bill insurance, reporting the incident to the local BBB, filing a complaint with the American Dental Association, and reporting incident to my dental insurance company who can request a copy of the x-rays and do their own investigation (I have had to do this before). This is pretty disappointing to have been lied to; I highly recommend not going to this office. If you would like proof of the poor quality x-rays, I will gladly email it to you so you can make your own assessment.I am updating my review based on the owner’s comment below: To anyone reading this review: I stated the facts about what happened today, I would never be dishonest, that would be wrong. Being dishonest to your patients, that IS horribly wrong. We do not have your training and are dependent on you to be honest with us regarding our oral health. It is hurtful to learn you are being taken advantage of. I gave an honest description of my experience and will be more than happy to prove this in any way I can and/or discuss my experience via email with anyone who reaches out to me.

Just moved back to MO from Vancouver WA. Found this dental office to fit my needs perfectly. Had teeth cleaned, general x-ray panels taken and even polished a high spot on an upper denture all in one visit. Plan to use these folks for all my dental needs. Friendly and very pleasant, experienced, and knowledgible staff from reception to dentistry personnel. Very pleased and highly recommend.

From the second I walked into the office to when I walked out I felt very well taken care of from the entire staff. Dr. Scott was extremely comprehensive with his examination and spent time making sure I understood all of his objective findings. Sonia was very gentle during the cleaning and made my experience very pleasant.

I am particularly impressed with how they continue to handle COVID19 and just the general all around professionalism of the practice.I appreciate the optional email and text alerts, and their billing process is very efficient in terms of coordinating with my dental carrier There seems to be little staff turnover, so you see the same faces every time and there is just a general warm atmosphere on site. I even follow their Facebook page to keep up on whats happening in the office. Great team!

Dr. Mace and his team got me out of a huge bind after my onlay fell out and I lost it. He affixed a temp within a couple hours my phone call, working me in on a busy Thursday morning. I just went back today for the permanent install and couldn’t be happier with the results. Not all heroes wear capes- some wear scrubs and headlamps.

Steps that were taken to ensure safety from the virus were well thought out and practiced. Staff is efficient and competent.

I love taking my kids to the dentist. The waiting room is clean, fresh and tidy. The staff is great too, very friendly. We never have a long wait time. They are very organized with scheduling up coming appointments and send email and text reminders. And, the quality of work is superb.

The Westport Plaza Dental Associates make dentist visits as pleasant as they will get. Lets be honest, no one likes the dentist. It is uncomfortable, but having been three times now I am very impressed in that it is far less uncomfortable than my previous dentist. I have had two cleanings and a crown here and in none of those cases did I feel pain. You also get to walk away with that squeaky clean teeth feeling as well

Be careful! Dont fall for their deep clean trick. They will try to charge you an extra $100 on all subsequent visits. Also, cant go a meal without getting food stuck in my teeth after Mace filled a cavity for me. Keep a toothpick or floss handy. You will need it if these guys work on you. Wont be going back here!
