I’ve been a patient here since 2019. The front office is very organized and understanding when I might need to reschedule. The hygienists are thorough and kind. I’ve seen both Dr. Doakes and Dr. Outlaw and I felt taken care of. I should specify that I haven’t had much more than x-rays and cleanings here so I can’t speak to any real procedural experience. But they run business smoothly and are smart, warm people and I really appreciate that!

We have been trusting our familys teeth to the smile salon for nearly twenty years. After Dr K retired, the quality continued. Dr Outlaw helped me today and the service and experience was to notch. Staff apleasant, upbeat and always ready to help with the details of your insurance and billing clarity in advance. Easy covered parking for free at the convenient plaza location. The best!

Im a new patient at The Smile Salon &Day Spa. Today was my first visit with them due to a loose and painful molar. I was really nervous because the truth is I have not been to the dentist for awhile due to a very bad experience with my old dentist..That experience just made me not able to trust any dentist anymore...but everyone at this office was really nice and very respectful towards me. And Dr Doakes and her team took very good care of me. I will definitely come back to this dental office!

Nicole is not pleasant to speak with, she is ill tempered, inappropriate and unprofessional. She is inpatient and will hang up on you numerous times and deny allowing you to speak to someone above her. I would not recommend having to deal with them as long as she is employed.

Im saddened to write this review but I am disappointed with the way I was treated. I enjoyed every encounter until the actual dentist came in. She barely spoke to me & gave no feedback. I told the two previous ladies my concerns and I thought the dentist would read what was written down but she asked me AGAIN what my concerns were. At that point I said nothing because I did not feel comfortable. The Hygienist told me I had some bone loss and that the dentist would discuss further....she didnt... I felt uncomfortable once she entered the room. She didnt really address me and/or make eye contact. I felt unwelcomed immediately. It turned a really good experience sour in a matter of minutes. I am glad there is another dentist on staff and I hope to receive better service when I am seen for any/all future appointments.

From the time I walk in I feel comfortable they treated me with comfort and respected ... I truly enjoy my experience I will definitely be returning 🦷🦷🦷

This was my first visit after my long-time dentist retired. Friendly, on time, straight-forward about costs, didnt try to sell me on anything. I enjoyed being in their company!

The staff is very friendly, personable and they explain things to you in layman’s terms so you understand. They have beautiful, modem art and dope music! And the most important thing to me is the staff is diverse! The dentist are black and know their stuff!

Typically I’m TERRIFIED of even the thought of going to the dentist office’s but i can give you a million reasons to try them and you’ll never turn away. Knowing your dentist is not only passionate about what she loves to do, but has took the time to expand her knowledge on the field to make sure she’s serving you the best all around makes you feel more comfortable with coming to the establishment. The staff are amazing from beginning to end. From the reminder text and calls to the warm welcome at the door (don’t forget the purple velvet seat and massage chair) you’ll feel at home. They are kid friendly as well my son loves Dr. Doakes! I can go on and on about how all the staff are my favorite literally it’s like we are family. There’s always a smile given. I always have a good experience with Dr. Doakes and, most recently, with Dr. Outlaw. They are so friendly and helpful with getting financing for an expensive bridge that was only partially covered by insurance. My daughter has also been here for cleanings and is comfortable because they are so nice and do a great job.

I’ve been going here for two years, and I’ve always had a positive experience. The dentists and hygienists are thorough and caring. The wait time is never long and they are open on Saturdays! I recently took my toddler to get her teeth cleaned, and they took great care of her. I was a little anxious before the appointment about how my baby girl would react to a teeth cleaning, but they made it fun and easy for her. Thank you, Smile Salon!

Worst service ever that I experienced this past weekend.I have been a patient over 10 years and was given a shoddy job by one of the dental hygienist Nina this past Saturday 26Jun 2021.I Would never recommend this place ever to anyone.

Love LOVE LOVE this Dental office!! Ok so I’m one of those ppl who used to be scared of dentist from a childhood experience so I rarely would go if ever. Here they make you feel extremely comfortable and explain each process, I had an appt with Nina, she was so amazing and caring and then I met with Dr. Doakes and she is so sweet and amazing as well!! She made me feel so comfortable and explained to me in detail what action I needed to take next for my plan of care. Thank you. Professional, Friendly, and Budget Friendly!!!

I went to this location and my experience was lacking to say the least. I saw “Dr.” Rodriguez. She billed me more than $400 and all I have to show for it is a plan which costs more than $10k to execute. I was offered a refund (still have the voicemail), however, after multiple attempts to get someone to issue said refund I’ve given up. They asked that I leave a review so here it is. Definitely reconsider any and all options before going to The Smile Salon as you’re likely to be left with a frown rather than a smile.

The doctors and staff here are an absolute joy. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Ive not had the best experiences with dental offices in the past, so this was truly a breath of fresh air for me. The facility is very clean and comfortable, and they are very upfront about the precautions that they are taking to prevent the risk of COVID-19. I would definitely recommend trying them out.

This place is ridiculous! I had been a loyal customer for years when at a routine checkup they recommended I get a night guard as I had been grinding my teeth. I left wanting to think about it and when I called to get more information they misinformed me telling me that Id get a significant discount if I came in right away. Hence, I adjusted my work schedule and went in to meet the discount deadline only to find out that the discount did not apply to what I needed as they had stated over the phone. However, I went ahead with getting fitted for a night guard anyway. Upon picking it up, I informed the staff that it felt very tight and uncomfortable. They said not to worry and that I would just need to get used to it. That night I wore the night guard hoping Id get used to it. The next morning I woke up in severe pain. My front teeth felt like they were being pushed back from the pressure and I had a massive migraine, which I never get. I went back to The Smile Salon immediately the next morning to tell them that this wasnt going to work for me and that Id like to be refunded my $175. I was very kind in my explanation and even told them I felt bad for having to come back. The office manager was clearly being fake when she told me it wasnt a big deal and that theyd be happy to refund me. The receptionist who got the office manager was very snooty. My entire interaction that day was very polite and although I was the one affected, left the office feeling like everything was taken care of and that it wasnt a big deal. Later that week, I received a letter in the mail saying that they would be refunding me and to never come back to their office again. Huh? What just happened? They actually asked the polite paying customer that THEY injured not to come back. If this doesnt convince you to run, good luck! Most unprofessional dental experience of my life! Thankful for the situation as it truly spoke to me about the lack of care they have for their patients, which Im beyond grateful to no longer be one.

I used to hate going to the dentist. I had a lot of bad experiences as a kid with dentists. But with Dr. Doakes and Kelle (my hygienist) it is a stress free visit that my family and I look forward to every 6 months. Even my 3 year old hops right up in the chair and is excited to get his teeth cleaned.

Highly educated group of ladies. Explains everything very thoroughly. My questions were answered before being able to ask. Normally dental visits are painful, even after your hand is raised the doc continues. Here, they take pride in stopping when you’re experiencing any discomfort so that’s big for me.. everyone makes sure you’re comfortable and from what I have seen it’s a great place for the kids, as they look forward to future dental visits.

Seven years service by these ladies and I have not regretted a moment of it. Everyone greets you with smiles and pleasantly impeccable attentiveness.

In the past few months, Ive had several visits to The Smile Salon to resolve long-awaited and desperately needed dental work. I could not be happier with the entire experience. From the front desk staff to my stellar hygienist to the fabulous Dr. Doakes, I have never felt so genuinely cared for by a medical practice. From the expert care to the latest technology, EXCELLENCE is the normal standard of care. It was possible to have all of this work done because besides my insurance coverage, they also offered an additional discount for being in network and most important, had an easy credit plan that really worked for me. Seriously, if I moved out of state I would still come back to The Smile Salon for my dental care!

Can you imagine that a dentists office is one of my favorite places to go? Its true! The Smile Salon is amazing. They take every step to make sure your visit is pleasant including free chair massages, personal MP3 players and extremely friendly people. Dr. Kundstadter is the best. She is so progressive and sincerely interested in how to make your smile the best it can be. Ive sent many of my friends there, and they all give it rave reviews.

I had a very positive experience at the Smile Salon. Everyone at this office, from the receptionist to the hygenists to the dentist, was extremely friendly and professional. I felt that they took the time to listen to any concerns I had, and they were also very good about explaining what they were doing and asking if I had any questions. They were able to take me back at the same time as my husband, which was nice as we were able to talk while waiting for the dentist etc.I was extremely nervous about going to the dentist (especially since I had been putting off a cleaning/check up and hadnt been in a couple of years), but I really felt that everyone actively worked to make me feel more at ease. I felt that my checkup and cleaning was thorough, and Ive already booked my next 6 month checkup. The office is easy to get to, and we had no problems finding a parking spot in the attached parking garage. They also offer a number of online management tools to book appointments and access your account, which I think is a plus. All in all, I was very happy with my experience and I will be going back.

They make me smile! I have been going to the Smile Salon for only a few months, but I already have my opinions about it. I love the place. Everyone in there is so completely nice and personable, which is important to me, because I love to interact socially with others. This honestly makes me look forward to my appointments there (who would have ever guessed that anyone would look forward to a teeth appointment?!). Not only are they friendly people, but they are also so good at what they do, and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. Its such a comfortable environment for patients to be in, because the entire staff creates a positive energy in the place and each members sense of assertive confidence extinguishes any possibility of anxiety in the patient.

They are awesome. Ive had a root canal and it absolutely nothing like the horror stories Id heard from other people. They were friendly and comical and kept my little girls pleasantly distracted. Really nice people. I don’t like going to the dentist and hadn’t gone for years. 1st appointment I was nervous. I thought they would sure say something about the fact that I don’t see a dentist very often. Instead they were really nice and didn’t feel like I was being judged based on the state of my teeth/oral health.

Great people, great work. This was a great place. Made teeth work the easiest I have ever had. I have been to several dentists before finally finding this one. The staff was friendly and kind, and the doctor took her time and was careful.

I’ve been coming to the Smile Salon for over 12 years and have been very happy with the service and the professionalism of the staff up until my most recent visit last week. I brought my daughter in for a cleaning which went smooth until we were waiting for Dr. Doakes to come do the final check up and apply my daughter’s fluoride treatment. We waited and was told by the hygienist that Dr. Doakes was wrapping up with a patient and would see us next. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, I had to go to the restroom. On my way to the restroom, I see Dr. Doakes finish with a patient and then prep her hands and go into the next station to start another patient. By this time, I was frustrated and decided to checkout at the front desk and inform the front desk that we did not receive the fluoride treatment and to please make sure we were not billed for it. Front desk and the hygienist were very apologetic and ensured me that they will make sure I’m not billed. I did make a 6 month check up for my daughter in hopes that we will not experience this again. Hoping for a better experience next time.

I have never been a person to become loyal to a business because there are so many options, but after going to a few dentists before The Smile Salon, I realize that this one was a keeper. I have always gotten very anxious going to the dentist, until I started going to The Smile Salon a few years ago after I moved to KC. The hygienists are so gentle and friendly, and Dr. K really takes the time to listen and explain things, a real expert. I always get in on time which is rare for any doctor or dentist office. I would never even consider going any place else, as I used to always cancel appointments due to fear and I know when I go here, I will be taken care of- not only my teeth but my stress. Amy has been my hygienist the past few times, and she is TOP NOTCH. Kelly, who I used to see was amazing as well. Thank you for all that you do!

So here I am needing my first root canal. I have terrible habits that include not flossing and chewing tobacco. Long story short... Either root canals do not hurt at all or the professional staff at Smile Salon are pretty darn good at their jobs. I mean, the tools used were pretty intimidating and made noises I wouldnt want to hear even if someone else was being operated on. I could tell they really cared about me, constantly checking on my comfortability status. Final conclusion: Everyone needs to go to Smile Salon. I cant even pick out a magazine to read before I get called back to the dental stations. That would be my only complaint. Not being able to read a magazine because they do not give me enough time in the waiting area.

If you want an environment where you dont feel like just a number visit the smile salon. Dr. Doakes is amazing! Appointments are always quick and informative. Amy is very friendly and remembers me which makes me comfortable to share what ever braces trouble and questions I have.

I enjoyed the cleaning and DDS Doakes was very understanding. She listened to my concerns and suggested solutions. My family dentist retired some yrs ago and ive been looking for a young dental group thats established and provides good service. Not to mention the massage therapist gave a great complimentary hand massage. Im definitely going back for dental and spa services.
