All of the staff are superb. Our stylist is slightly world-famous, trained in Europe, on-call by celebrities, but still affordable priced. A woman’s cut was $60. Everyone is masked and vaccinated, and they strictly require customer masks. The view of downtown KC is great from the giant wall of picture windows in this huge high-rise loft. They have complimentary drinks. I didn’t see what the movie theater spa room is all about but the place is big and spacious.

Recently i was in a time crunch and needed my roots touched up and i was so lucky to have Jessica do my hair! My experience at skyline couldn’t have gone better, she was so kind and talented!! She answered all my questions and always made sure i was comfortable! I would go back and I’d recommend her, and skyline, to any of my friends and family to come :)

Skyline Downtown is a gorgeous salon, expertly operated with a ton of style. On my first visit for a full highlight, I was treated like a regular and enjoyed interactions with multiple team members, each as cool & knowledgeable as the next. My hair looks and feels excellent, I was well attended and I actually left with that salon spring in my step. I highly recommend a visit, and bring a friend (there’s a cuuuute boutique corner to shop local designer clothing)!

I always love going to Skyline. The location is great and they have really interesting merchandise to look at. Josh is my stylist as well as the salon owner. Ive been going to him for years and would not go to anyone else. He understands hair and he understands how to run a business well.

The more I think about it my experience here was very negative. They really tried to sell me on a service that wasn’t immediately necessary and talked me out of getting my hair done before a big event. Just super unhappy about being picked apart in a chair in front of a lot of people and then having the girl be extremely rude and pushy about not wanting to do my hair. It was really weird and I don’t want to recommend or come back to this salon. I apologized but I think that was a bad decision just based on the way the girl was extremely irritated and not providing the information in a positive way or even giving me a partial or something to help me leave the salon feeling better than I did. I could have come back in a couple of months if I felt the fix was necessary. I really wouldn’t come here if you’re a little older the college kids aren’t prepared I don’t feel to handle those situations professionally and with kindness.

Ive always loved this salon. Ive come to different stylists here for 10 years and even when visiting someone for the 1st time, they do a great job. Its a luxury salon with very good pricing, and the atmosphere is super cool. I love watching the weird movies projected on the wall when getting my hair rinsed. Monica C did my bayalage and it looks amaze!

I got my haircut by Taylor and she was AMAZING! I went in to get more layers to add volume and to get bangs- I have curly hair so I was nervous to take this step since I hadn’t found anyone who could cut my hair properly. I called and asked for someone who had experience with curls and they mentioned Taylor. When I went in for my appointment Taylor sat down and listened to everything I wanted, she took her time in cutting and explaining everything from what she’s doing to how to take care of my curls. I have finally found a hairstylist who I feel comfortable with and trust 100% and I will definitely be going back to Taylor.

Dallas is the best! Top quality cutting and color — at the level of NYC or LA but right here in a hip salon in KC. For the longest time you could hardly get an appt with him — he has long-standing loyal customers— but Covid has kept some of the faithful fans at home, so he has openings— get on his schedule while you can! Josh is amazing along with every other staff member ive encountered. I had dreadlocks for 7 years and decided it was time for change. They were knotted tight and it was a big challenge but Josh took it on with no hesitation. After the long and vigorous process that included the help of my mother and I and another stylist we got it done and he gave my hair a beautiful cut and taught me how to nurse it back to health and we continue to work towards my goals. I have never left skyline unsatisfied. A big plus I enjoy is the atmosphere, when you are checked in by the friendly people up front they offer you a beverage and lead you to the salon which is beautiful with an amazing view of the city!

Dalton at Skyline is the best! His knowledge of color is amazing and he gives great recommendations on how to style for any specific hair type and cut. This place is beautiful and relaxing. I received amazing service from Kiley. She looked at a picture and was able to correct my hair and do exactly what I had shown her a picture of. While getting your cut or color you get to relax to an elevated view of Kansas City. During the toning and washing process you get to watch a movie in high quality that is projected onto the wall in front of you while sipping a refreshing glass of wine or water. My overall experience was amazing. Kiley will forever be my hairdresser from now on. I have never been more satisfied leaving a salon until now. #skylinedowntownsalon

I asked for a transition from a dark green to a blonde. I know this takes a process however, my scalp is burned and now flaking after the stylist put on a ammonia toner. I have lost some of my hair and you can see the loss so I have to style it to hide the spots. It doesn’t hurt anymore but the burns and the flaking from the burns is enough for me to receive a full refund.This is after I explained I hadn’t been to a salon in years and was nervous.

They advertise that they know how to do textured/ethnic hair, yet Tippi is really the only one that can. Yet, shes never there.... Not really a diverse salon, so save your time! Mallorie didnt really seem to want to be bothered, either.. Basically, she only does mixed girl/curly hair, if you check her Insta. :)))

If you’re looking for the best men’s cut in town, go see Lauren. I frequent her every two weeks. Included in her price is a hot towel and neck shave and she is very precise with the detailing in her work. She’s also incredible at women’s color/cutting as my girlfriend frequents her as well. You want a jack of all trades when it comes to hair? She’s your girl!

I had a very positive experience today at this salon with Nils. He really is a master stylist. Very professional and very, very good. I loved the location in downtown KC as well as the atmosphere inside. I was 15 min. late and they took me anyway!! Downsides - need extra time to find a parking space and for the really, really slow elevator to get to the fourth floor.

Not only is it in the coolest location (the views from the salon are incredible--you can see all of downtown), the whole place is clean, stylish, and everyone there is so accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly.Dalton has been making all of my hair hopes and dreams come true for a while now, and I recommend him for any service, whether it be waxing, cut, or color! You wont regret it. He really is the best, and always works with me to get the exact results I want. If I ever moved away from KC, I really would fly back across the country just to see him for a cut and color.After salon-hopping for a while now, I think Ive finally found a keeper. Caitlin at Skyline Salon is great! She has helped me go dark with my hair in the winter and a beautiful lightened up balayage for the summer. She also styles my hair and recommends products to maintain the health of my hair from coloring. You also cant beat the atmosphere of the salon and views of Kansas City!

When you call Skyline, “Caitlin Karst” is all you need to know. I look better, and feel better after Caitlin works her magic on my locks. The added bonus- Caitlin is gorgeous. But beautiful as she is, you spend an hour in front of a mirror with Caitlin and she gives you a listening ear that makes the experience much more than just a hair appointment. To be honest, I had reservations about posting this review because I don’t want to share her. Selfishness aside, I encourage you to experience her talents and inevitable friendship.

The view is amazing. Open concept inside is a breath of fresh air compared to most salons that are tight and cramped spaces. Stylists always go the extra step to make you feel relaxed. Jackie is my favorite!

I just recently moved to the KCMO area and have not had my hair colored in quite a few months. I was extremely nervous about letting someone new do my hair. The salon was beautiful and I had the pleasure of having Lauren do my hair. I wish I could give 1 million stars! She did amazing on my color and cut! My hair has never looked this great! She was friendly and and very easy to communicate with. She made me feel confident and relaxed, as she was extremely knowledgeable and informative in terms of what was best for my hair. I will never go to anyone but her again.

I have gone to see Lauren the past few times Ive gotten a cut and she does amazing work. Prior to coming to her I had a pretty bad haircut at the last place I went, and Lauren fixed it for me (took more than one visit, it was that bad). Ive had 3 disappointing experiences right in a row with haircuts here. I am new to KC and live 25 minutes from this salon and now regret driving past so many other salons to get to this one. A neighbor told me this is where she goes and that she really likes the guy who cuts her hair, but everyone is great. I now wish Id asked the name of her stylist because I couldve requested him and maybe avoided this mess. I have called twice in attempt to reconcile the issues with my haircuts and am now left with no options besides sharing the experience here.My first haircut was with Jackie last month and I felt hopeful before and during. I have long hair and thought I was requesting an easy cut when I asked for layers and face-framing. When I got home I first realized how overly thinned out my hair was. Then I noticed there was a huge gap between the shortest and longest layers in the very front - ugly and can only be fixed when my hair grows. Aside from that impossible problem, she went through my hair with thinning shears so much that the ends were scraggly and it looked like I needed a haircut after just getting one. I tried styling it several different ways but I was just so unhappy about it every time. I was unable to call about it right away because 1)I really wanted to give the haircut Id just paid $72 for a chance, 2)I went out of town, 3)I am a busy mom, 4)I am often sick with near-daily migraines 5)I felt a lot of anxiety about the haircut and the process of calling about it and going back to get it fixed.The good: I finally called and although I was 2 weeks past the time to get what the salon calls a redo cut, they agreed to schedule an appointment to fix it. Larran at the front desk was kind and helpful. She asked if I was comfortable going back to Jackie and when I mentioned that I was on the fence, she recommended Kady. I also booked a haircut with Kady for my daughter to get right after me because I felt bad that another stylist was fixing my hair for free and thought I could at least pay her in that way. (We are a family of 5 and I honestly hoped that I would find someone we could all come to.)When I came back, I appreciated that Kady heard me out and validated the issues with my recent cut. I had come with recently cleaned, damp hair and didnt expect her to shampoo me before or style me after. She wanted to rewash my hair, but when she asked if I wanted her to curl it at the end of my cut I declined (I really didnt want her to have to do anything extra!). What I didnt notice when she finished the trim is that I had lost basically all of the layers. She took a long time on my hair, which I was equally grateful for and frustrated by, but Id hoped to quickly fix the problem I came in with and didnt realize that a new one had been created (more on that below). When it was my daughters turn I felt like Kady was not honoring my request for how short to cut it! She kept saying, I wouldnt go shorter than this. When she started to cut I stopped her and asked her to go shorter because it wasnt enough! I was trying to be considerate of Kady during both haircuts...I had told her what I wanted and wanted to trust her. When she took the cape off of my daughter I could then see that she had not cut her hair to the length Id asked - Kady even kept saying its still SO long!. I was annoyed, but it had taken 2 & 1/2 hours for both of our cuts and I didnt know how to express my frustration in the moment and decided I was willing to let it go.Fast forward to now - it has been a week since my redo-cut with Kady and I have been so frustrated every time Ive fixed my hair since. Without layers, my dark, medium-long hair looks boxy and has no style. I hated to do it, but I called and explained my new problem and asked if Kady would be able to just cut the missing layers (I didnt want a whole new cut, but just wished she could finish the job!). I was told Id need to schedule and pay for a whole new cut. So now I need my third hair cut in a month - hoping to get it finally right - but at another salon.

You will not find a better Salon in Kansas City than skyline ! The staff is A+, they are so friendly and true professionals. I want to give a shout out to Caitlin Karst. She ALWAYS did a phenomenal job cutting my hair, I always looked forward to my appointments. You will love Skyline, go see Caitlin :)!

I have been going back to Dalton ever since then! He is an amazing stylist as well as an amazing person. The salon has a central location and very modern décor. The salon is very clean with a very friendly staff! Every product used has quality. See it for yourself!

Ok so I moved to KC from Chicago about six months ago and was worried I wouldn’t be able to replace my stylist up North. First place I went: disappointed. THEN. I was inspired. I will cut off all of my hair. And by “I,” I mean “someone I research heavily and trust.” The person I found was Josh, owner of Skyline. I went in and described my drastic vision and he was 100% on board, and helped guide me. Roughly 16” later, I’m looking adorable and carefree. Highly recommend and will be coming back in the regular.
