I love JOI and all of the Dr’s. They’re all in one building and the staff is extremely friendly, as are the folks manning the phones.

This organization is a workers comp office as well. Dr. Perry stopped my visits after acknowledging I have injuries and knowing I am still in pain. He knew that if he set the MMI, this would cut off my physical therapy sessions. He didn’t care. The patient (myself)in this case was not number one priority. It is obvious to me that JOI and Dr. Perry are in it just for the money.

Dr. Pujadas and staff are so caring. Always treated with the highest respect and courtesy.

I got an appointment right away. Staff and check in was very organized. Doctor Vosseller was very thorough and knowledgeable as well as the assistant who removed my cast! Everyone was super helpful.

Ive been going to this place for many many years. I love the doctors. Is easy to make an appointment are they sending the paperwork online the check-in is very quick so is the checkout process. If you wait in line its only like 5 minutes checking in and checking out. The surgery center is top-notch and so is a therapy department

I’m doing 4 stars simply because of the X-ray situation. I went to JOI for a second opinion. I went to my previous provider and obtained images for them. They downloaded them and still required new images. I will have to pay for those. That was frustrating.Dr. Freeman was amazing. He ordered surgery, which is what I needed and was hoping for. He explained things and had a great bedside manner.

I had two surgeries performed by Dr. Steinberg this year. One on my elbow and the other on my shoulder. Both of them have came out good. I would like to give Dr. Steinberg a 5 star review. All the office visits and surgical procedures I went to, went very smoothly and were very professional. He also has a 5 star staff. While JOI is set up to handle a lot of patience in an orderly way, they care about my pain. Whether I see a doctor or one of the helpers I am the important thing during that short time. I always leave with hope and usually with less pain. Thank you JOI for being who you are.

My 16 yr old daughter was scheduled for a procedure that was scheduled for 7 am this am & 24 hours before the scheduled procedure the time changed to 11:45. The time changed again this am to 11am. Her dad & I are divorced & he assured me that I would get to see her either before or after the procedure. This made sense to me because my husband oversees the operations of several out patient surgery centers for HCA, 2 in Jacksonville & they understand that both parents would want to see their child before & or after surgery. My Ex told me he had it worked out & to stay in the lobby. To my surprise & absolute embarrassment I was asked to leave & escorted out of the surgery center by security while my ex & step mother stayed in the lobby. That’s right. Birth Mother has to leave but Step Mother had been in the lobby for a few hours & could stay. When I shared my experience with my husband he said this, “ 20 plus years in my outpatient surgery experience and over a million cases, no family member has been escorted out of our surgery centers.”Amy Tennant

If you need a hip replacement, check with Dr. Frykberg before making the wrong decision. He reviewed my case and said I was a candidate for a less invasive hip resurfacing, which will help me transition back on the tennis court faster.

I want options regarding long-standing great toe pain from sever arthritis. I’m active athlete and dancer, fusion was not an option for me. I had read about a joint devise but after listening to why it would work for I agree to another procedure and now feel quite confident it was relieve my pin but more importantly maintain my to function for “dancing”. They listened!!

I called to make an appointment for my husband for his left shoulder 2 weeks ago. We had been to Baptist Clay the night before. We were told a piece of the bone had broken off and was trapped in the joint. Of course insurance had to be given first, then the young lady asked where he was seen. I told her and she place me on hold. She then told me she had reviewed the x-rays and there was nothing broken. He did not need an immediate appointment. Meanwhile, my husband was in horrible pain. She gave me one 3 weeks out. Needless to say he was seen elsewhere that confirmed the break.

Friendly, helpful staff in the reception area set the stage for a great first impression. The comfortable, clean waiting areas put your mind at ease about the consultation you are there for. Good organization made the visit go like clock work. I loved the thorough explanation given by Dr Freyberg and the time he took answering my questions. Professional and personable are the adjectives I would use to describe the treatment I received at JOI on my first visit.

I was able to make an appointment online in an extremely short time-frame. This was unexpected and that immediate availability is very important when you have an acute problem. I also like that I was able to select my Doctor and complete all of the pre-processing paperwork online. It was a very easy and efficient system.I was impressed with every interaction I had from the front desk, nurses and imaging specialists. Dr Bohsali was extremely knowledgeable and clear in his diagnosis and course of treatment.

Dr. Bruce Steinberg is the reason I will only use JOI. He is the best at what he does and he has such a great way of explaining things so that the patients actually understand. All around amazing Doctor.

This was my first visit at this Orthopedic so far great experience! Was seen on time and the staff was very friendly and thorough. Dr. Kaplan explained all my options for treatment and what to expect afterwards.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences at JOI with Dr Kaplan and Dr Kitay. Everyone is always pleasant. No complaints here. I would definitely recommend JOI and both doctors.

The nurse and doctor seemed bothered by their work. It did seem over crowded there and the wait was very long. The doctor did not do an mri or ultrasound to diagnose my shoulder pain. Im going to have to go elsewhere to get a second opinion because my shoulder is still very painful at night and when I move it in certain positions. They have offered physical therapy but Im concerned there is a tear and theyve done nothing to view soft tissue. If they make it worse Ill have to have surgery. I would like to avoid that.

The best experience I’ve ever had at a doctors office from the time I walked in the door until the time I left everything was wonderful. Dr.Tanderin and his Nurse practitioner Jenny we’re wonderful.

The doctors at JOI have looked after my family for 20+ years. We shall continue as long as we live in this area.

Drs. Smith and Freeman are very knowledgeable and thorough. Both have a great bedside manner. Dr. Freeman spoke in medical terms but broke everything down in laymans terms. He spoke to our 13-year old son and explained his injury in a way he could understand. Dr. Freeman understands the mindset of a young athlete who wants nothing more than to play, and he was able to explain my sons playing options and possible outcomes, as well as what each option may mean for his future playing career. The thoroughness of the process was great, and everyone was so friendly and accommodating! We have already recommended JOI to several soccer players from our club.

Staff was great, very helpful and friendly, wait times were minimal; extremely competent doctors who took the time to really listen about my health issues and worked with me to begin solving them.

I broke my wrist on Sunday. I went to the Carespot thinking they could do it all. Carespot did the X-ray but had to send it to Baptist to have it read. That is when I found out they dont do cast there. The Baptist radiologist called the doctor back saying that it was indeed broke. Carespot Recommended Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute. I called them Monday and the young lady said that they would have someone call me. Wednesday and no one called. I called them back. They apologized but once they found out that I was self pay (My insurance doesnt come effective until June 1.) they did not want to talk to me. These people are only in it for the money. I wasnt asking for anything for free. I would just like a little respect. Finally today, the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute called me they said they didnt have a doctor for me at the San Marco branch. Now what does that sound like to you? I said never mind. They would rather have an old widow woman left in pain because I didnt have insurance. They have no customer service. Dont bother calling them unless you are loaded with money!!

Ive had five joint replacements with Dr. Freeman. He is of the highest caliber of doctor and held in high esteem by his colleagues. I would recommend him to my own mother.

The staff was patient and answered all my questions. They kept me informed often of status when my doctor was delayed. The bedside manners for the knee specialist dr Kaplan and his PA was Amazing!!!

One of their workers assaulted my friend during a massage at his previous job, he was reported to them and his previous job but no one cared so beware, if you are a young woman know that they hire creeps here!

Dr. Freeman is fantastic! He did an excellent job with my hip scope over the summer, and I was impressed by the ease of recovery. He again surprised me with his excellent care this week. I was apprehensive about having my knee drained. But Dr. Freeman and his nurse did a fantastic job and were able to expertly eliminate my discomfort. My knee is so much better since my visit.

The staff was professional and accommodating when we realized that not all of my records had been transferred over.

Dr Tandron and his staff are some of the best in the Baptist health system. It so comforting to know my painful 12 year suffering will shortly be resolves. From his detailed description of the knee replacement surgery to come, to the absolute assurance I would be in some incredibly caring and skilled hands.He said Id be hating him for two weeks but after that the results would have me ready to get the other knee done.As a Combat Veteran who totally abused his knees in the service of this GREAT NATION, I am incredibly honored by the dedication he and his team have to my successful recovery and a new pain-free life!

My last visit was with DR STEINBURG who i consider to be the best if you have a problem with your hands or arms. He diagnosed my problem and treated me and i am recovering very well.

Very prompt and efficient. Did not have to wait long. Dr was very friendly and professional. Did not try to rush the visit. Overall pleasant experience.

Initially, check in was quick, even with Covid lines. The staff was very friendly, efficient and courteous. The doctor was quick, but very knowledgeable. I appreciate the referral to an associate doctor to get to the root of my problem instead of masking it with pills or a shot.

I was very worried when I first got to JOI in San Marco, based on how I was greeted and checked in by the front desk staff member Marsha. She asked who I was there to see, I stated Dr. Kaplan, then she asked my name. After that she proceeded to get very snappy stating Well your mailbox is full we tried to call you about your copay. I simply stated that my mailbox wasnt full. She then verified my address, and well yes the insurance is verified and its going to be $150. I never said anything negative or that I couldnt pay that. Yet, she was very unkind and snappy. I handed her my card and said I never disagreed with the payment. I do understand that $150 is a lot of money to people, and most people dont understand their insurance (I am not one of them, I am an Insurance Coordinator for a living), but jumping down their throats might also be why people give you such a hard time about payments. I gladly paid my $150, and was told to head to his waiting room down the hall to the right. AFTER CHECK IN WAS AMAZING!!!! I had little to no wait time, was triaged my Meighen (not certain on spelling of her name) then had an x-ray of my hip and back. Before I could get my undergarments back on from the x-ray Dr. Kaplan came in and we discussed my hip issues, and his plan of care for me. Such a nice Doctor and really took the time to listen to me and my concerns. I now am working with Cindy who is assisting me with scheduling my MRI, in a closer location to my home in GA, and she is fantastic as well. Im glad I didnt take my first impressions of this place to heart. Great experience after I got past the front door.

Dr. Kaplan, Chris (PA), and Megan and a few others (I apologize I can’t recall their names) have been absolutely compassionate and understanding with my situation. They are top notch with communication & answer all my questions, putting me at ease as I’m nervous about my ACL revision surgery. I wish I’d come to JOI instead of Southeast Ortho to begin with. I could write a book of praise for Dr. Kaplan & his team!!

I am very pleased with the service I have received from JOI over the years. Staff is efficient and courteous and there is not a long wait to see your practitioner. I like the fact that you have a variety of specialists so that no matter my orthopedic need, there is a doctor within the practice to which I can be referred.

This was the first time I have seen an orthopedic. I saw Doctor Carrasquillo. Doctor Carrasquillo and his nurse were awesome. They schedule surgery right away and had me go to pre op that same day. I am active 52 and never broken a bone. Doctor Carrasquillo made me feel good and made me laugh. I needed a good laugh. Just an awesome team. Thank you!

I cannot thank Dr. Kaplan and his incredible staff for their exceptional care and very professional manner at all times dealing with me. As a person who has had 7 surgeries; in and out patient this is by far the best experience I have ever had.

I have 100% confidence in Dr. Tandron, who did my first total knee replacement six years ago. Making an appointment to see him again was very easy and efficient. Filling out the check-in records update online was also easy and made the actual check-in seamless. I arrived about 20 minutes early and was seen almost at once; maybe three or four minutes waiting. The visit was perfect; x-rays, answers to my questions, and plan of action. It is obvious the JOI is doing everything possible to mitigate the Covid-19 challenge, including the nice lady who checked my temperature at the entrance. It was extremely nice to have the representative from Donjoy on site to provide my knee brace, fit it, and explain what I needed to know. The brace gave me some instant relief, and I appreciate not having to go to a different location to get it. The new (to me) parking garage is wonderful. I had no problem finding a handicap space right up front, and there were plenty of other spots available.

I broke my foot a few months ago and was very skeptical of going to the right orthopedic institute because Ive heard terrible rumors about some institutes that are not helpful. I can honestly say that everyone working with Carrasquillo team is a 5 star team. They are so accommodating and very pleasant to be around. When the room was freezing one of the techs allowed me to use her jacket and covered me up with a sheet just to make me more comfortable. If I get their names I will update my review. Overall, this place is extremely worth your time and you will not be disappointed.

Ive always gone to JOI for anything that I know they can take care of because they DO take care of my issues. This month I went in for hip pain(after having a hip replacement in October of last year, which went very well) and they took xrays. They found something else wrong and quickly got onto that problem. Dr Vosseller, the nurses, and everyone that did the pre-op testing were all very friendly, professional and had a great bedside manner. Great place. I went there for my carpal tunnel surgery a few years ago and now again for surgery on my broken ankle. They were very quick about getting my surgery scheduled. I went on Friday and they scheduled my surgery for Monday. Even the pre-op testing was done with minimal wait time. I would definitely recommend them.

It was easy to schedule an appt. From my arrival to my departure, the staff was efficient and personable. Dr. Crenshaw listened carefully to my concerns and answered all of my questions clearly. In addition, he explained exactly what I needed to do to remain healthy and strong. I have always received expert care at JOI: spinal fusion with Dr. Keller was successful as was rotator cuff surgery with Dr. Pujadas.

When I met with Dr. Steinberg he was concise and to the point.

I slipped and injured myright leg. I was referred to JOI by the ER physician. During my visit the Dr assessed my situation and immediately referred me to the hospital for surgery. I am grateful for deeply satisfied with the service that I have received thus far. My Dr and staff are very courteous. I am very satisfied with the service that I have received thus far.

Pre-op visit with Dr. Carlos Tandron. Spent time with me reviewing CT and MRI imagery. Comfortable he is thinking in my best interests regarding joint repair. He thinks I should try physical therapy and re-look at imagery for repairs in the future. We both agreed I need to address the injury. Im not a good candidate at this time. Im glad I have him for a doctor.

Absolutely terrible. I set up an appointment with their neck and spine doctor, provided all insurance information, and was given an appointment time and date. I showed up, and was not even seen by a doctor, but instead an PA even though my appointment was with the doctor.More importantly, after they scheduled me for a follow up, JOI calls me and tells me they don’t accept my insurance (after already having been there for the first appointment and providing all my insurance information).How can you not do better?

I had an appointment with Doctor Tandron for chronic knee pain. He was one or possibly the best doctor I’ve ever come in contact with. He has great bedside manner, he never tried to assume he knew everything like most doctors do 🙄, he LISTENED to me, he treated me like a family member and he always had this “WE can fix this” attitude. The staff as I walked in the building was very nice and helpful. The staff on the second floor by his office was QUICK and hospitable. Thank you guys!!

My physician explained my diagnosis thoroughly to me.

I have no complaints. I did not have to wait long at all. Dr. C explained my issue clearly and did not ramble or take long at all. He made it clear, Heres what you need to do. The nurses were friendly. My only complaint is the parking, but that can be a problem for any successful place.
