Hi. I have been attempting to submit an application for a scholarship but it is bouncing back because my payroll and proof of residency documents have my name Jim but my full name is James. Im unable to change my payroll information and even if i did it wouldnt change past pay stubs. Customer services were unable to assist and insists i need to resubmit a new application and wait another month!!!. I need to have an issue escalated here or go into an office to resolve this asap as my child has not been able to start school because of this and we have already been waiting for 4 weeks.---PLEASE HELP---9/28/21 Follow up: It has been over a week since I posted this review in hopes somebody would assist me with NO RESPONSE YET :(

Absolutely horrible service. Representatives are very poorly trained. I was told I needed forms that were unnecessary that set my sons application back multiple times. Every time I would call to check on our application status I would be told it should be reviewed in 3-4 more weeks or 2-3 more weeks. I finally asked to speak with a supervisor after speaking to a different representative each time I called Step Up for Kids and was told something different each time. After waiting for over 1 hour to speak with a supervisor I was told I would receive a call back in 24 hours. I never received a call back. Here four weeks later still nothing even after calling back and being told we are putting a note in your file you will receive a call in 24 to 48 hours. I am a normally patience person, but this is absolutely ridiculous especially since I have been dealing with these issues since March and have received zero helpful information from not one representative unfortunately.

They delete my docx that I have submitted. Kept asking me to resubmit docx in three different occasions.. Since May now we are in July and my application is still pending.. The worse system! Wasting my time.

I work with very complex, multi-billion dollar governmental proposals for a living and the application process for the Step Up for Students Scholarship was far more complicated and stressful than any of them. I probably have spent well over a weeks worth of my personal time going back and forth with this organization sending, re-sending and re-sending various information and in the end, nothing was ever accomplished. I cant even follow up with my application as the contact information they provide does not work. When in contact with the local rep for this organization, a very hostile, disorganized woman spoke to me over the phone asking for detailed information on things I did not have (school test scores that my child never took, as one example). Then proceeded to tell me my child was dyslexic after about 3 questions (hes most certainly not). Really had an awful experience here, I would not recommend anyone to use this service unless you enjoy countless emails that go nowhere.

It was very easy to apply, there’s Long hold when you call the customer service but they’re very helpful and patient and explain everything

If you would like to make a formal complaint about this organization, please do so through the Florida Attorney General office! This can be done online. I just did! This companys representatives REFUSE to allow anyone to speak with supervisors! After requesting for my childs scholarship to be changed from an Empowerment scholarship to a Florida tax credit scholarship over a month and a half later and then requesting to speak to a supervisor being told it will take 24 to 48 hours only to find out the representative by the name of Shamille LIED and NEVER put in the request for a supervisor, I am learning that this organization is incompetent disorganized and obviously ill equip to handle such an important task as distributing scholarship funds. So on my next calI I asked to speak to another supervisor again and a different rep refused to transfer me to a supervisor. At this point due to their gross negligence, my child will not be able to get a decent education with a good private school even after being approved for this scholarship. What a waste of my time and such a disappointment! This organization does not deserve to operate in the state of Florida! Lets find another organization that can better serve our community!

Terribly organized. Have inexperienced people making simple tax verification, incredibly complex with no understanding of the forms, their use or names. Very fraudulent. Tough for families under financial duress. Circumstantial and feels designed to ommit first in line applicants. Class action lawsuit ready to happen. Disgraceful to what should be a heartfelt well intended organization. Being ruined from the inside out.

Wonderful experiences with step up! We have been receiving the scholarship for years now and bc of them we have been able to go to a wonderful private school. We are beyond Blessed bc of step up thank you !!

What an excellent program! Lets PARENTS choose a better educational option for their children that they would not otherwise be able to, due to financial concerns. Very easy application process. You just have to print the forms necessary to complete and fax or upload it back to them. To make this slightly more user friendly, they may want to put a button at the end of the application for parents to click on so that they can view the forms.

Step up for Students is wonderful. My little cousins nd sister attend St. Marys private school with the help of this scholarship. Applying is easy. Just send in some documents and print out an award letter. I do want to emphasize FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.

Just have to apply early these people who gave a 1 start Is a lie this is a great company just don’t wait last minute to apply they have a lot of applications that needs to be looked and process and that takes Time.

This is our 2nd year for this grant. We applied online and the process was easy to follow online and when I called all my questions were answered quickly. With a scanner it would be more difficult for some. Many documents are required.

If you want stress to increase to a level that it makes you grow grey hair then apply for this. The customer services is terrible. They delay thing to make you fail. My personal experience was submitting everything they requested and even so they didnt do anything to help on the contrary the delayed over and over until they said that my daughter missed the chance to get it this year and therefore I have to wait until next year and submit everything from scratch. Do not apply unless you are ready to build your frustrations to a different level. Stay away

If I can give less than a 1.. I would. Very poor service and customer service. The process for applying is very difficult!!!! I applied back in April and they still have not made a decision and they keep coming back and telling me I need this and I need that paperwork when they should have told me in April when I first applied. I feel they are biased as well and pick and choose who they want for the scholarship. It is too late now because since they have taken their time, my daughter is now on a waiting list and school starts August 10th. Terrible terrible terrible for my daughter!! I feel so bad for her.

My kids have been on the scholarship for 8 years now. I have a 9th grader, 7th grader, and 2nd grader. It has been such a great help and assisted with keeping my child in quality schools, and most importantly the best learning environment! Customer Service is pretty helpful and always tells me what I need to turn in. The process isnt hard at all, and usually takes me a few minutes to reapply each year!

Best scholarship program for children, thanks to Step up I have been able to put my sons in one of the best schools in JAX, thank you!

I really need some help! Ive been having alot of trouble renewing for the 2018-2019 school year. The new system said its making it easier for parents but I cant even complete my application because it keeps saying error. The past two years I had no issue at all and I love this program but this year its been so hectic and ive been trying for weeks. I have emailed and called and I still cant get help. If the owner or who it may concerns read this can you please please tell me what I should do. Thankyou

I cant believe how poorly my mom and I have been delt with by the staff at step up. When my mom filled out the application for the scholarship and It specifically states, Do not register students until you have been awarded. Because of this my mom didnt register me because she wanted to be sure. When we recieved the award letter the staff at the school that I should be attending was out on summer break. My scholoship expired August 4, 2017. We call Step up in advantage to see what can be done, were told that we would be put back on a waiting list until funds Comes available. Now I call back this morning and the lady at Step up told my mom, that I will not be placed on a waiting list nor will I be able to get the scholarship again. Now my staff at the school that I should be attending is just getting back in office today and I have no scholarship to attend. What should I do? I was really looking Forward to a better education and exiting my senior year with a bang. Thanks for shattering my dreams Step up for Students.

Same deal started applying in April they would suitcase the application for one month and then send you an email saying youre missing something takes you one day to give it to them and they suitcase it for another month absolutely making it difficult to be awarded

Well after qualifying for scholarship and emailingtransportations people in August I was finally transfered to the transportation part and told I must submit report card by the due date on October 22 to get the first payment. Problem is they instructed me so on the 29th of October.I have a question for you ladies and gentlemen there. Are you instructed to be this slow to save money on payments that are due to people? You know the ones that dont give up on the paperwork and phone calls and investigating and pushing so some work gets done there?I am sorry if I sound bitter but after 3 award letters for my daughter (and the school still didnt get a call from you as promised assuring us they will get full scholarship not half as it showed up on their portal YET ) and taking 1st out of 4 checks for my sons scholarship we qualify for in full I am not the happiest camper... 3 months backlog......?PS : are we human to you dear reps in stepupfor students? Do you have any compassion for people who apply here?. You know if we didnt need to we wouldnt bother. And if we bother do you realize this money actually helps us.... How would you feel if you were treated this way? I guess not....Mrs Robinson would you please call me. ?
