We had our first private session with Maggie yesterday and WOW! I am blown away. She is incredible! Sophie has some leash reactivity issues with other dogs, children, runners, bikes, loud noises (I could keep going, lol) and I needed some guidance. Maggie put me at ease immediately and we took her out on a long walk and got right to it!Absolutely love her training style, shes extremely knowledgeable and Sophie loves her! I took her on several walks since our session yesterday and Im already seeing amazing results with the techniques Maggie taught me! Cant wait to see Sophies progress in the coming weeks/months. Thank you so much, Maggie!

Maggie came to my home to help with issues between my new puppy and a mini golden doodle that I care for when it’s owners travel. Within an hour she had the two getting along like BFFs, instead of the doodle biting and snapping at the puppy. I have seen her correct issues such as aggressive leash behavior, puppy biting, jumping, food aggression, the entire spectrum of dog (& people!) behaviors. I only wish I could have sent my siblings to her when THEY were younger. Alas, her miracles are limited to dogs, but she is WONDERFUL with them!

We have done both puppy and adolescent classes with Maggie Marshall Dog Training. I highly recommend both! Maggie is excellent at teaching in this small group setting. She teaches practical and useful skills for owner and dog. I LOVE that her facility gives the dogs a chance to have off leash play, with a trainer present. I learned so much about my dog’s behavior and her interactions with other dogs. I am much more confident taking my dog to play with other dogs with the knowledge I gained. One of the things I have appreciated the most is Maggie’s ability to really see each dog and their individual behaviors. Sometimes, Georgia was a bit strong willed and Maggie was able to read Georgia and adjust her methods to help us still achieve results with our dog. Still using positive training techniques! I can’t say enough good things about Maggie Marshall Dog Training and would give more than 5 stars if I could! Bonus- we have done several classes more than once, because we always learn something new and Georgia and I always have fun with Maggie and the other dogs/owners

We had our first training session with Maggie a few days ago. We rescued Ollie and he was in danger of being returned due to some mild aggression issues, and he would not listen to us when distracted (that guy loves lizards!), leash pulling, and several other issues. Wow! Maggie is a little powerhouse. She came in and got right to work. I believe her assessment of Ollie was spot on. She taught us techniques and training skills that have already gone a long way. She not only teaches you how to correct but explains the reason for the behavior. Just in a few days, Ollie is almost a different dog. He is calmer and much more manageable (he’s a big guy). Thank you, Maggie! We will be scheduling another session.

When I met Maggie, she was so confident in her approach to dog training. I have a 6 month old Malinois and he is a handful. She had this dog doing behavioral commands and respecting boundaries. I was so amazed! Her philosophy is no matter the breed, she will train you to train your dog to be the best pet he can be. He will respect you and your house and do everything within his power to love you!She brings all the goodies to do everything she has taught you so you can start training the next day. It’s not magic, it’s work on the owner and the dog and the more you put into it the greater the reward.I look forward to this journey with Maggie, Cooper and me!

Maggie was my mentor. I learned more from my apprenticeship with Maggie than I did through my schooling/certification. She allowed me to observe and participate in real life situations. Watching her methods and how she communicated with clients helped form my deductive reasoning skills while training. Maggie continues to be a support for me professionally whether sharing her experience, being a support system, or confirming or adjusting my protocols and expectations. She has been invaluable to me professionally.

Maggie’s resume and credentials really speak for themselves (check out her website)… nonetheless, I will give her a stellar review/endorsement. I scheduled a private session with Maggie to help with some behavioral issues my 7 year old pit/lab mix was having. After asking me just a handful of preliminary questions, it was evident that Maggie knew exactly how to approach the situation and what tools we should employ. I appreciated how candid and straightforward she was regarding dog-training, and yet she’s incredibly sweet and kind. After practicing the exercises she showed me for just under a week, my family can truly already see an improvement in our beloved middle-age mutt. Old dogs CAN learn…. 😉

I bet Maggie last year when I asked her to come and work with my girl who is anxious and barks at everything. I was so anxious about taking her anywhere. Maggie taught me some excellent skills, and we had some “meet and greets” with other dogs. It made me feel so much better knowing my dog wasn’t going to “go after them”.I’ve been taking her to the beach regularly, but have always had my 18 year old son go as backup in case she pulled on me to much. Yesterday, I took het alone and she was amazing! Then, because I was feeling extra confident, I took her to the dog park in our community to the first time and she had a blast running around leash free.Today, she had her annual vet appointment. Usually, I call when I get there and they tell me when the lobby is empty and then take us straight to a room. I just walked her in this morning. She didn’t bark at the receptionist or the two people waiting for their dogs. She was a rock star.Everyday, I use the skills Maggie taught me. Every day Jade and I are becoming more confident. She’s living her best life thanks to Maggie!

I have taken several classes with MMDT and observed several more and can say Maggie is thorough, knowledgeable and will get you and your dog success (no matter what naughty behavior you are dealing with). My greatest take aways from the classes, is really how QUICKLY her practices and advice can be applied. The dogs responses can be immediate. If you are willing to apply what you learn, you will have a pet that behaves so well that people will be jealous. She offers a safe, nonjudgemental and real life enviroment for every level pet and owner to join in. 10/10 - would reccomend.

Maggie Marshall Dog Training is the BEST! In fact, I’d award WAY more than 5 stars. I’d give a whole galaxy of stars if it were possible! Maggie was impressive from my initial inquiry. She responded promptly and was transparent with her services and pricing. From the moment she came into our home, her education, training and experience were on full display. We were blown away by the behavioral differences she made in just one visit. Leash walking, mat training and boundaries were just a few things we worked on with our puppy. In addition to being great with pups, Maggie is also great with people! One of the many reasons I enjoyed working with her is that the whole family loved her. To this day, when we drive past her facility, the kids exclaim, “Maggie Marshall Dog Training!”Finally, I can attest that Maggie is the real deal. Be careful when hiring a new dog trainer and be sure what you are getting before putting a large amount of money up front, like we did and getting nothing in return. First, I want to say that I am not easily impressed. I have high expectations of people and are often disappointed. Maggie Marshall did not disappoint. I researched dog trainers and was looking for only ones that use positive reinforcement. We were fortunate to have found her. Our first sessions were at our house ( we live at the beach which is across town for her). We explained our goals and challenges in advance. Maggie was well prepared and was extremely efficient with her time with us. We were so happy with our private sessions that we registered for group training and travel 30+ minutes each way. She is a true dog whisperer. Our dog instantly loved her. You can tell Maggie is passionate about her profession and helping us learn. One revelation was understanding how dogs think and learn. While we have had a few dogs over the years, I have found this training to be very insightful. I would highly recommend her if you want a happy well adjusted dog.

Maggie is the best!I have an adolescent Golden Retriever with whom I have gone to other trainers. The results were mixed and I was not happy with the methods and advice. My dog jumped on strangers and was not willing to share water and toy resources. Additionally, he was aggressive toward our other older dog when eating. I was fortunate to have learned about Maggie Marshall Dog Training.Maggie conducted two at home training sessions and we followed up with the adolescent group training sessions. We saw immediate changes in our dogs behavior. He is now the calmest in our group sessions and our neighborhood walking group (most of the time :-) ). Maggie is a life-saver. I recently acquired 2 small poodle types within six weeks of one another. They both had aggression issues, especially between each other. I was very distressed over this. After reading stellar reviews from Google and looking at the options on Maggies website, I did not hesitate to schedule an in-home session. She is also a behavior specialist! This is what I truly needed. We covered a lot in that session about resource guarding. Also I learned to see warning signs of the aggressor and how to disrupt before a fight starts, how to remediate a fight in process, and how things get better over time. I can now feed them in the same room, they are more relaxed around one another, I can answer the door without the guest wearing dogs. Maggie gave me HOPE that first day that things will work out. With the techniques she taught, our home is a much happier place. So Maggie saved ME and my new little friends!

During the group class our golden retriever puppy exhibited guarding behaviors. We were thrown off by this and decided to have a private session to learn ways to train our puppy. We are all learning so much, practicing and training all the time, and see improvement in our puppys behavior. Maggie listened to us, observed our puppy, gave us instruction and honest encouragement. Maggie is amazing!! After a move from overseas and a new baby, one of our dogs was beginning to show agressive behavior. I dont believe in any other training than positive reinforcement, which let me to Maggie. She is amazing! She opened our eyes to lots of things we werent seeing, and gave us the tools to be successful. She never asked us to book more or take classes etc. She always left it in our hands! I appreciated her never forcing things, but also loved how she knows dogs SO well that she was able to say here is what you need to do, and that doesnt mean having a trainer come all the time. She knows dogs! She was also respectful and kind and took the time to listen. Months later another issue happened and she answered my call and spent 20 minutes working through it with me and giving tips. It is hard to find this kind of customer service these days!! If you’re looking for a strong loving relationship with your canine friends; Maggie Marshall is hands down the best dog trainer in all of Jacksonville, Florida. You absolutely will not find better. Mostly because she’s not just a dog trainer she’s actually a dog behaviorist. That actually means a lot. Most people want to have well behaved dogs that are members of the family. Maggie absolutely excels at teaching you how to do the work to build that bond and trust to get the relationship you want with your dog. And it’s not just the foo foo fancy well bred dogs; she works with rescues as well. And she does an excellent job with “tough problem” dogs. Her vast knowledge on the subject of canine psychology and wellness is unparalleled. Bottom line (TL,DR) if you love your dog and think of them as family there is no other trainer to work with in Jacksonville, Florida.

Rusty was a sweet dog but I didn’t know what I was doing. I saw several recommendations for Maggie Marshall so I signed him up for her adolescent dog group. I’m so glad I did. Maggie was very professional, gave clear instructions and you could tell she truly loved what she did. Maggie gave me the tools I needed to be a good and responsible dog owner. She taught me to be consistent with commands for best results. To reward the good and ignore the bad. To recognize subtle signs from your dog that he’s stressed or anxious. She taught me how to teach Rusty what was wanted of him and how to handle certain unexpected situations. My second dog I got as a puppy. Axel’s a German Shepard. He started At 9 weeks in puppy classes with Maggie and we have continued with her intermittently ever since for refreshers and friendly dog play. Axel is almost two and an awesome dog. I’ve seen the advertisement for Maggie Marshall coming off the interstate on 103rd for some time now and finally decided to give her a call as our 8 month old puppy needs help with potty training. Upon our call I told her that that was what I needed and I wanted to know what services she offer. She said okay, asked for my information and set up an appointment time. Fast forward to the appointment, as I’m headed to her location per the address on google I call her to let her know I’m having trouble finding it but am on my way. She then tells me she’s on her way to my house. I replied “what? No one told me you were coming to my house.” Which was met with silence. So I say “hello?” She says “Yes, I’m here.” I’m like oooookay. Well I’ll head back to my house then but i wasn’t aware you were coming there at all. She never explained, just said okay see you soon. On my way home I check my email and see I have an invoice from her for $200 due today. I pull up the attachment and it’s a notice about how much she charges for in home training and how it’s due at the end of an appointment. I immediately call her back to inform her that I read the invoice and we apparently had a great lack of communication because when I called her I informed her that I wanted to know about her. I thought I would meet her at her location, let her meet my dog, and discuss options so that I could then discuss them with my husband and make a decision. Needless to say, I thanked her for her time but told her due to the lack of communication I would be cancelling the “appointment.” Very disappointed as I see she has very good reviews for training dogs & would have loved to use her had she done better with communicating her services and what exactly she was doing when I called her. Moral of the story: ask more questions if you’re speaking to her for the first time because she doesn’t communicate very well.

We contacted Maggie last fall after our rescued English bulldog bit my husband. After having a few home interviews with shock collar trainers, I found Maggie. She spent 2+ hours at home and we learned so much about how to handle our pup without shocking him into submission. We also learned that deciding management and avoidance techniques were best was not a failure but a family decision. Well...time passes and we started slacking. We are now 3/4 of the way through a basic obedience class and reminded of things we let slide. Since that first visit from Maggie, there have been no physical confrontations in our home. We know how to read our dog and options to distract him instead of challenge him. After these classes, we are re-committing to training him and his response has been amazing. Next up-request for private lessons for grooming his wrinkles. Thank you Maggie. I highly recommend to anyone looking for help with problems, basic training, or selection of a new pup. I envision we will ask for help for every dog in our future. Her upfront style and relaxed teaching atmosphere makes it easy to learn and accept it is us who need training; not our dog.

Best dog trainer who knows her clients (dogs) very well. Maggie taught us a lot about our new Aussie Shepherd and we couldnt be happier with her professionalism and her training technique!

When I first called Maggie it was to help with my aggressive dog. She quickly informed me that he was not aggressive but very fearful. She has given me the tools to train him and make him less fearful and more trusting. She told me in the beginning that he was a good boy but it took me a long time to really start believing that. I recommend Maggie to everyone that I know who has a dog whether it is just for puppy training or dealing with issues. You can not go wrong by working with Maggie Marshall Dog Training because Maggie is the best!!

So thankful for Maggie! She knows her training, is VERY professional, intuitive with dogs, explains things very well and genuinely cares!Maggie was a huge help with my first two dogs, Dusty and Remi, back in 2016 when we had some behavioral kinks to work out (resource guarding, too rough of play, feeding, walking, etc.) She was able to help us identify when the dogs were uncomfortable, and have a better understanding of reading their body language. She also taught us do’s and do not’s and various training techniques to use. Dusty and Remi were both responsive to training. When we added our 3rd dog (early 2017), it was very overwhelming for me and my other dogs, so we called on her once again. I called her because I knew if youre not careful, issues like fighting can happen when introducing a new member to the family and I didnt want that. I wanted to be proactive. I thought I had made progress when all 3 were initially introduced but with certain things that I thought had been cute behavior, playing and getting along, it actually was not. When she came to the house, she was able to yet again educate me on behavior, dominance, body language and training techniques to use to help them! With continued training Maggietaught me, dedication, patience and time, the tension subsided and they’ve become best of buds. I used the same training she taught me when I acquired my 4th in (late 2017) and 5th (late 2018). I even enrolled my 5th rescue who was 8months old at the time in her group classes and her dog about town classes.Though I have not been able to attend classes this year due to personal financial restrictions, I STILL implement what Maggie taught me every single day with my dogs. You can tell this is Maggie’s passion and she cares for each and every one of her clients and their furry children and treats them like her own. Maggie doesn’t beat around the bush and says it like it is while remaining extremely professional. The quality of her training is phenomenal, you will search high and low to get the exceptional quality she provides for the price she charges. She is the only trainer I trust. I HIGHLY recommend Maggie! She is absolutely amazing and I can’t thank her enough for everything she has taught me. It is knowledge that I will forever use and am incredibly grateful for!

Maggie has helped me tremendously with our rescue Baxter! He now comes when hes called! Were working on getting him in and out of a car as hes very very skittish, afraid of just about everything! She also is great with dog sitting and dog walking we had two emergencies this year and she made sure that Baxter was taken care of for me! You couldnt ask for anything more!!

Id heard wonderful things about Maggie for at least two years from a neighbor. We finally enrolled our Zoey in one of her group training classes (no jumping up) and couldnt be happier. Maggie is a wonderful teacher--and the results she was able to achieve with the 6-7 dogs in the class was just amazing. Each had their own issues--yet she was able to give them the attention they need, but more importantly show us how to work with our dogs...and that her gentle techniques really worked. We had tried to train Zoey on our own, but I now realize the value of seeing a professional train a dog. Patience was key...and allowing the dog to figure things out. She also spoke in-depth about how long it takes to get to mastery--and I think that most people give up their training/reinforcement long before their dog gets there. I think when I saw trainers on YouTube, I always assumed they had a relationship with the dog. In our class, most of the dogs were new to her, and it didnt matter. When I look at the money we wasted on PetSmart puppy classes, books, an e-collar class (that we stopped after one session), etc. I only wish we had invested that in Maggies two week program. It would have saved us money, and helped us have a well trained dog. (Far cheaper than the board/train options locally, which often use e-collars.) I highly recommend her group classes and we are looking forward to taking more. I feel like there is hope and that Maggie showed us that gentle training really can work...and work well.Note: Its easy to find if youre coming off of 295 onto 103rd street. Just turn in like youre going to the U-Haul (will be your first turn once on 103rd) and then follow the driveway around the building and youll see it. (It is facing 295).

Maggie has been working with me on and off over the course of just over 2 years to walk me through the process of getting my dog prrpared to be a therapy dog for Wolfsons Auxiliary. From the day she evaluated my dog and told me she would be a good therapy dog, she has trained and reinforced and encouraged me every step of the way! I have used her for private lessons, group training and group socialization. She literally salvaged all my dogs training when we got a pitbull puppy dropped in our lap to foster for almost a year (which was very disruptive in the early months). She helped me find a CGC trainer with extra reinforcement. I could literally go on and on. Recently I sought Maggies help in the days before my dogs assessment with Wolfsons. I am so happy to report that my dog did pass and I am now part of the Auxiliary team! Maggie is an expert and she loves dogs! I highly recommend her for any dog breed, any age, for training!
