My son really did some work on his bike a few months back by running into a tree. The breaks were messed up, the gears weren’t working correctly and there was this resistance when he would try to pedal. I took his bike in today and expected that I might have to leave it and come back next day. Sybil, greeted us and got right to work! She was so nice and knew exactly what she was doing! She was also very patient withmy son who loves to ask a million questions lol I won’t go anywhere else in the future! Customer service was amazing and even other employees (Jake I believe) stopped by to chat with my son as well! Over all it was about 45 minutes. After we left my son was so happy! We got in the car and he immediately said that Sybil was “pretty cool” and that he really liked her. Sybil if you’re reading this, thanks again! You did amazing.

I went to spend $600 on a Yakima Cargo Box. No one greeted me and I couldnt find any help. I found someone in another department and they said the woman ( short red hair) in the Bike Department could help. She was with another customer, so he asked her if anyone else could help. She said no. He said she would help after she was done with the customer. Her customer left and she then went into the bike repair area, where she proceeded to chat with another employee. I left and went to Black Creek Outfitters, which was nearby. They were helpful and friendly. I bought my Cargo Box there. Thanks for nothing REI. You lost a sale.

Best place to buy shoes hands down. Their return policy is out of this world and the salesmen/women that assist you couldnt be better. This store is amazing for anything and everything outdoors, I think the only thing they dont get into is fishing poles!

Always a great experience in here, staff is always super helpful and if they don’t have something they’ll help you get it ordered and shipped to your house. Allison was especially helpful when I was looking for new hiking boots and when we returned a week later for some other shoes, she remembered my wife and my name.

I was helped by no fewer than five employees - Zina, Megan, Greg, Kevin and Ken - who all “showed up,” engaged me with friendliness and respect, and had great attitudes.I had a return, a shoe sizing, used the fitting rooms, and made a purchase on something dangerous I’ve never used before (Permethrin) and every step of the way felt very well taken care of.We all shop at REI for the service right? but I’ve been in many Florida REIs and this one kinda blew me away. What a lovely morning I spent - thank you to the workers!

REI is my favorite store, but writing today to say about my excellent customer service experience with Ken. I bought a lot of clothes from the annual sale that I needed to return/exchange. When the store didn’t have the sizes/colors that we needed, Ken ordered them for us to our house and matched the price that we got on sale; it may sound like a trivial thing, but we took a good chunk of time with the amount of returns that I had and Ken never made us feel like we were an inconvenience and really made us feel like we were making a new friend. Additionally, REI hiresproud Vets like Ken and the lovely Vietnam Vet we had greeting us at the door. This is why REI always has my loyalty. Bravo Zulu, Ken and REI!

The gentleman that helped us today answered all my questions, gave me more advice and recommendation that was extremely helpful. All done with a smile and hooddppp humour as my inexperienced self had many silly questions and he was able to help guide me. Its definitely good to have service with a 😃😊🙂

Manager Ken went well out of his way to help purchase the right accessories and install our rooftop tent. He and his staff go way over and above to make customers happy. I have a hard time finding shoes as I fractured my calcaneus on my left foot. Because of this I need an 11.5 wide which is hard to find. REI was able to get it done for me and get me the shoes that nobody else could. Shoes are very comfortable and light. The only issue was REI didn’t try to make the shoes look like they were never tried on. The tissue in the box was ripped up in pieces and the shoes were laced all twisted up. There was no wear on the shoes, but there was plenty of fuzz on the soles from being tried on and walked on carpet I imagine. Other than that the shoes were clean and new. Thank you REI! I really needed the hiking shoes for an up coming vacation in the mountains.

REI has a great selection of gear/equipment, clothes, shoes & accessories, friendly staff who really know their outdoors stuff & are helpful with finding exactly what you are looking for. Definitely recommend this store, especially for outdoor recreation newcomers.

This place is amazing. I like to do backpacking and have wanted to visit an REI. I finally got a chance... my mind is blown. They have so many things to choose from. Definitely the best place for camping, and hiking gear. Not to mention the staff was outstanding!

I have wide feet and for years I could not find a wide size shoe. I went to every single shoe store in town and all they ever have is the standard medium width shoe. I decided to try REI and both Allison and Joseph helped me find a 8.5 wide shoe. They found 3 and I was able to purchase the best fitting one. It was a bit pricey but I didn’t care since they fit so well and will last me a very long time. The staff is so nice and very helpful and understanding. I went back to purchase socks for my new shoes and they work perfectly. I will keep continuing to come to REI.

Went there yesterday morning, nearly after opening. Was greeted by the door man taking count. He was exceptionally nice. I roamed around the store to capture a few ideas of some things I had not thought of for my recently new primitive camping and hiking hobby. Every member of the staff I came even close with asked if I had any questions and genuinely interested in finding out about my planned adventure to see if they could help.I came across a few people in the backpack area after finding my ferro rod kit that I was looking for, and realized I was rather uneducated about packs and even some of my own recent purchases that I had yet to spend time with on some of the cool features I didn’t even know I had yet.I’m not sure how they are paid. But I can tell you, they didn’t come across as salespeople just trying to sell something, but like coaches giving me source material to really get me across my goal line.I became a lifetime member and really look forward to getting this next chapter off the ground.Thanks Jacksonville team!

Has an ok selection for each activity, but a wide range of activities present.Slightly over priced compared to same or similar options through online retailers. However, for on demand instant access, they’re one of the few, if not only options around.

I totally understand the current level fear sweeping across the nation, and I agree there is a level of personal responsibility necessary.That being said:HOWEVER, mask shaming, pointing and raising your voice to customers in an otherwise empty store is frankly, ludicrous .I dont care if youre the last over-priced store in the country.Youve lost a customer.Pretty sure you could care less.

The ladies and gentlemen that work at this store are very polite, very knowledgeable, and actually take the time to answer all of your questions. I was in Rei last night (Saturday 2-21) and received top notch customer service from Logan. Logan was extremely knowledgeable and made the process effortless. The gentleman in the shoe area (did not catch his name) was very helpful and friendly as well. It was such a positive experience that my boyfriend and I decided to purchase the Rei membership. I cannot remember the last time I had such great customer service.

I bought a pair of shoes at REI near Galveston Texas. Werent as comfortable as I had hoped and I wore them only a few times. We live in our RV and I didnt have an opportunity to return them until several months later in Jacksonville, Florida. Quick and easy.

REI in general is an outstanding company and this location is particularly outstanding. I have found that if one had a bad time at REI it is just that one needs to just find another employee, as with all retailers the salesperson is usually the issue. Other than a bad attitude of an employee every now and then, the store really sets a standard of excellence. If an employee is rude just remember the store has to deal with the general public and that means a lot of trash attituds they have to deal with daily.

I had a senior moment with replacing my bike tube and couldn’t figure it out. Charlotte came to my rescue and fixed it in five seconds. She saved the day and did it with a smile. I highly recommend REI for any bike repairs

The selection is incredible with excellent gear. The quality is high in the brands they carry and it is reflected in the price. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. Specifically, if you have any bike related needs visit Paulo. Paulo is a brilliant and humble guy who will try to help you find a best fit.

I visited this evening looking for a lightweight bike rack for a small Toyota Yaris. The gentleman in that department was very helpful and looked up the best model to solve my needs. Next, I went to the tent area and the gentleman there was also very helpful in assisting me with a lightweight tent that would fit in my little car. Both gentlemen provided excellent customer service.

Very disappointed. There was no one to help us, we were looking at hiking boots without any assistance for about 20 minutes. Finally went to seek assistance to get the right sizes. Employees seem very unhappy to be there. I tried to get the attention of one of the staff near by and ask for more information on the shoes, which he had nothing to add. Just seemed very unenthusiastic at being there. I am surprised this place is still in business. All the staff there was unhelpful, rude, deceiving.

Terrible knife selection, over priced, employees dont know much. I suggest amazon.

Rented some mountain bikes and gear from them and had the time of my life I highly recommend visiting this location for anything outdoor rec related.

Always fun and the people who work there definitely know their stuff and love their jobs. Top quality gear and you can get in and out if need be, or spend half a day looking at a bunch of camping, hiking, biking, etc.. things that a beginner or a professional would want. Great pricing, especially for a retail store. A would 100% recommend going there first for anything related to every outdoor activity, or to find a gift for someone you know who is outdoorsy.

Kara is awesome. This place is awesome. Never had one issue with staff. Awesome products and backing. Sometimes the company policies just wont allow you to do some things like return all of your equipment after a trip like the guy below me was trying to do.

Every employee is knowledgeable and helpful. I bought a pair of hiking boots, a pair of beach shoes and a day pack. In the shoe department the staff take all the time you need and sincerely want you to get the right shoes for your foot. I enquired about day packs with one associate who directed me to the correct department. As soon as I got there a man greeted me and knew what I was looking for. They are the best.

It’s REI, and I am a fan of the store and brand, therefore it automatically gets a better rating. That being said, all of the employees that I have talked with are very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. More specifically I have talked with the people in the bike shop and they repeatedly went out of their way to help with various things. I fully recommend REI and this store.

It was nice inside had allot of cool stuff. But they didnt have the things they had on the web site available. It would have been nice if it showed the quantity available at the store instead of driving all the way their and not end up getting what you saw on the site.

They are getting better but the people working there still need to be more knowledgeable. The cycling staff does have good information. Took a class with Chelsea and it was great, she was very knowledgeable!

Great selection and prices when things go on sale. Be sure to become an REI member, they have crazy outlet sales every couple months.. youll also receive 10% back on everything you purchase every March - this of course redeemable in store. They also offer a lot of classes etc. and the community is there should you pursue it.

Customer loyalty is a two way street, REI refused to honor its warranty policy so I use the store for information and sizing of products and then I order those products online from the lowest priced vendor. REI is rarely the lowest priced vendor. You can beat thier prices by 15% pretty regularly. I used to be a loyal customer but not anymore............

REI is an absolutely fantastic outdoors store. They have quality items and very knowledgeable staff.My only two critiques of the store is that its not really affordable to the majority of people. If you are like most blue collar workers you have to make a commitment and save for items or put the cost on a credit card.My other critique is that they have very limited options for plus size hiking people. I understand they are taking steps to expand the sizing options which is good. There was just not a whole lot available at this location when I was there.But overall, if you are looking for top quality outdoor items, this is the place to go.

If you want legitimate help with any of the gear youre about to buy then this is your place. Talked with Kara for a while on the pros and cons of headlamps before buying. It seems like every time I shop here my experience is personalized. Thanks Kara and thanks REI!

It is always great to visit REI when I am in town. It always has the latest equipment and lots of resources. Only wish they had a kayak and kayak fishing section. Other than that the staff is great and so is the store.

Well i went to the store at 4862 Big Island Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246. First let me explain ...i dont have any proof of purchase. Item was giving to me by my grand mother about a month ago who bought it at one of your Atlanta locations. To make a long story store short my item and box are in perfect condition. In stove retails for about 50 bucks...i wanted the same item that cost about 70 more dollars. This should be a win for REI and for myself being a coop. Yet Ken would not let me give you more money....did not try to help and was rude. Ive never had trouble like this before.....this is not a scam....i want to pay you more. I would like a district supervisor or someone to contact with a solution and an apology before I take my problem to facebook and Twitter to see how much my time is worth. I Feel like Im being unfairly treated and REI has never made me feel like this. Even the guys that called Ken to the counter said it shouldnt be a problem swapRich Burns

Incredible staff

While they might have really good customer service, however if another employee came up I would of considered it pestering.The reason for the low review is because of their sales...Found 2 nice shirts in the clearance rack, sign on top of the rack that said 50% off, so I took it up front and buy them. One shirt price said now $47 and the other said now $50. Any normal person would think you take half off those prices however apparently I was wrong and was charged those prices.When I said something about it, the lady at the front says the signs are misleading and its up to 50% off.The shirts got returned and I will not be returning, Ill take my $105 dollar and purchases 3-5 shirts elsewhere!

Great store. Super friendly and helpful staff. REI staff are typically well educated about the products and use them personally so they will give unbiased advice. Smaller than some other stores around the country, but great selection of products.

This place has amazing customer service, the shoe fitting specialists are great at what they do, especially Greg(go air force). Theyll leave you with all the knowledge you need to go forth confidently on your next trip.

We asked an employee if we can bring our dog inside her travel bag, locked and they said it was fine. I was inside the store about half hour. The manager kicked me out saying it wasn’t allowed. They should train all the employees about the companies policies. Well guess what!? I left, left the cart full of the stuff I did not bought, and I am not planning to come back to get them. Your company should learn about all Vermont Outdoor stores which are pet friendly, people go to outdoor adventures with their dogs. Maybe you will get more business.

I love REI. I was so happy when my 4 year old son began to ride one of the bikes with training wheels. I would have purchased it if it was not for the employee who stopped my son by stepping in front of the bicycle. She then told me that the only way he could ride the bike was if we purchased a helmet and went outside.. why would you have the bikes on the floor able to ride? I have been a loyal REI member and customer for years. It is upsetting that one single experience can ruin the customer relationship, but that has happened.

I went to this store yesterday and it was amazing. I have been buy Rei products online for a while but this was my first time in a physical store. I could not be more happy. I was helped by Logan and he made sure I got all I needed. The walked with me around the whole store and provided very helpful advise.I am extremely happy with my experience :)

REI is the best store in the world! I have been shopping at REI at different locations throughout the U.S.A. for years. Great products, Very knowledgeable staff, excellent warranty. Highly recommended.

Lots of things in the store, just not was I was looking for. No womens hunting boots, nor work boots. The smallest size mens boot they sell is a size 8. Staff tried to be helpful.

REI has been a wonderful store to have in the town center, Ive bought kayaks, camping gear, and discount items from here all without problems or issues. I would highly recommend REI!

A favorite store for all things outdoors and they have wonderful high quality clothing, outerwear, and shoes, but beware it will cost you. TheyTher also a membership that provides great returns on each purchase in the form of store discounts and credits.

When I was there checking out the woman Manager came up to the young associate (who was being really nice and having a good time) and she said “where is the return ticket for this item”? He said “idk” then she asked him to look under something, it wasn’t there, but he said “when I’m done with the customers I’ll print another one”. Manager caused such a negative experience and degrades the associates so much. I can honestly say I hope REI fires 3/4 of this stores employees and rehires an all new staff- especially the management staff! You can’t be like this! REI has a standard, and this is the only one I’ve been to that doesn’t live up to that standard.

This is probably the worst store at the Town Center. Yes, it has a lot of outdoor gear that is very usable, but the staff isnt very informed, I find them to be mostly rude, their selections of clothing is limited, I could go on. I come here every now and then to try stuff on before ordering, but really try not give them any business. I feel going to Black Creek is far better climate of gear, clothing and attitudes. Dicks and surrounding local stores will have what you need or the internet.
