I have been living at City Houses for 7 months. My Recovery and Spirituality has grown to a whole new level. The house is amazing and is located in Springfield which is an historic beautiful community near to bus lines and meetings are in walking distance. Angie, Mia and Paula are such awesome women that truly care and want more than anything want you to succeed. Hot dinners are provided as well as lunches for those that work. All rooms are spacious and have TV and Dorm size refrigerators. The services City Houses provide you can not receive any where else such as assistance with rent, finding jobs, individual and group therapies, Recovery program based plus amazing women that support one another and do the deal.

I have lived at city house for 3 months I absolutely love it. The houses are absolutely beautiful we have a huge back deck very spacious rooms and a great group of girls that live here. The manager Mia is so sweet and paula is an amazing cook and like a mother to us. They really do have our recovery and best interest at heart. I definitely recommend choosing city house if you’re looking for a sober living home. The owner Angie does an amazing job at making and creating a great safe and sober living place she also joined hands with inspire to rise which comes with so many benefits and is free for all of us who live at city houses as well as group therapy twice a week that is actually fun the girls and I look forward to it. I’m thriving here and I plan to stay as long as possible!

Great place to work on your recovery and yourself... The women here are awesome and always willing to help and more importantly, they always take time to listen... Angie Luna (the owner) welcomed me with an open heart and mind.... The amount of unconditional love that is shown to me on a daily basis is second to none!!! Thank you so much for helping me to become the woman that God intended me to be.....

My experience at City House began as I stepped onto the tasteful checkered pavers sidewalk in the gentrified historic district of Springfield. The birds chirped their sweet summertime songs in a beautiful blend of welcome and optimism; a true harbinger of good things to come. As I walked up the steps of the gorgeous Southern Victorian home I was greeted with the warmest of hospitality and immediately I was not only at a place of residence but I was home. My fellow residents quickly became an integral part of my life and support system and today I am not only happy, but proud to call them family. The food is made with love, the management is full of empathy and understanding, and City House as a whole offers not only a new way of life and a place to live, but an experience I will forever hold close to my heart and never forget.

Upon entering City House I was hopeless , broken, and scared. I tried this recovery thing and seemed to fall to my old ways no matter where I went. Upon arriving at City House I was greated with love and genuine concern. The out the day the ladies and manager reached out to me even why I was at work to check in with me and make sure I was okay and to make sure I didnt need anything. I was me then just a person paying money or a number they truly cared for me. The owner has gone up n beyond to up keep the houses and at times it was hard to believe I was living in a halfway house with the quality of food we received and what seemed like weekly gatherings were I couldnt help to feel apart of, this enables me to build trust and grow beyond my comprehension in my recovery, and for this Im truly grateful.

Angie that owns this place is absolutely amazing. She is kind and cares about addicts and pushes us to move forward . She will tell you things you may not want to hear however it will be the truth. Her staff however will form a cliche against you if one of them doesn’t not like you. I fell on hard times and had difficulty finding work however I was actively looking. I am not from Jacksonville and was asked to live which I couldn’t pay is understandable. However I went to receive help from government and other organizations , however my house mananger Kate who is a horrible person and will do things to suit people she likes contacted the organization I went to and was beyond harassing to the staff which I received an email from. Kate also discriminated against someone because they were friends with me. She was told my Kate yes and then when the person helped me she changed her mind. She charges after me on several situations and I agreeably was mean to her. However she sits in car with old house manager and drinks. She is single handily going to destroy what Angie has worked so hard to build. If you want to be clean and have the ability to not react this is a great place. Kate isn’t working a program and will be on the streets again. I went there directly from detox and I grew a lot there. Angie was right in asking me to leave it was the treatment by her house managers that I am concerned about. Angie is a wonderful person and I got clean there and learned a lot. So it’s great except it’s not three meals a day so don’t get excited. People do not do their chores so it’s nasty. Eventually Angie will see how bad Kate is and she will fix it but for now please beware.

I came into City House in August of 2013 and was pretty badly beaten by my relapse. In two months of using, I lost everything and was spiritually, morally, and just completely bankrupt. This is the house that saved my life, and countless others. Everyone here was supportive and gave the love I was unable to give myself. Meetings, staff, food, emotional and spiritual support; they gave me all this and more. I am coming up on five years clean & sober and I have City Houses to thank for it.

City house has given me the extra support/structure i needed when i left treatment. This house really supports sobriety, it is and always will be their number one concern. And it has tons of amenities; TV with all channels and refrigerator in every room. Free High Speed internet. Huge grill out back with foosball and cornhole for the numerous house gatherings we have every month. Just to name a few...

I enjoy everything about these houses. It gives me a safe environment to get my stuff together; with an atmosphere of real recovery, I am able to truly experience the promises that have been laid out before me. Although my life doesnt change by being at any house my mindset and attitudes towards it does, especially being around other people who care aboit me and how im doing. City House has been an absolutely life-changing experience for me. Thank You Angie Luna for giving me and people like me a place to grow-up!!!
