I took my 2 teenage daughters to Dr. Marc for a cleaning and evaluation. First of all, they were both extremely reluctant to goto the dentist at all due to negative past experiences with their previous dentist. They saw Ashley B for their xrays and cleanings and she was so gentle and caring with them both. She made them feel so comfortable. Then they saw Dr. Marc for a evaluation of treatment needs. He explained everything that he recommends they have done, extremely well. Dr Marc is very knowledgeable and caring. I highly recommend this office for any dental needs. My daughters no longer fear going to the dentist! As a parent, that is a huge relief.

I moved to the area after living in the New York Metro for decades, and I had been seeing the same dentist for decades. I was concerned about receiving the same level of care in a much smaller area, but Dr. Marc and his colleagues frankly blew me away. The office is so up-to-date, clean, efficient and professional, and Dr. Marc really knows his stuff. I recommend this practice very highly.

This is the best dentist I have ever visited. They clearly know what they are doing and are extremely thorough. Throughout my visit, they explained everything and answered all my questions clearly and fully. For the first time, I actually feel informed about my oral health and situation. I left feeling really happy and good. I was given clear next steps on how to maintain my oral health and ensure long term hygiene. Dr. Purdys office is fully set up for Covid-19 and I felt very safe throughout my visit. I cannot stress enough how pleasant my visit was, how confident and good I feel about my oral health, and how informed I now am about my oral situation.

Best needle man Ive ever experienced. Zero pain, not even from numbing with the needle. Amazing technique. Difficult to schedule appts at the moment probably due to Covid backlog. Other than that.... five + stars.

After spending most of my life with high anxiety surrounding going to the dentist, I have finally found the right dentist for me. Dr. Marc Purdy and his staff are so kind, gentle and understanding of the fears and anxiety I have.The exams and work they have completed is far and beyond what I have experienced from other dentists in town. This office truly cares about the health and wellbeing of their patients. They take the time to do a thorough examination and Dr. Purdy is very gentle and accommodating during procedures. It is absolutely night and day from what Ive experienced elsewhere.I have had cleanings from Ashley B and Ashley T, and they are both very kind, gentle, friendly, and take the time to explain things, answer questions and make you feel absolutely normal for having all those big feelings at the dentist.If you experience any dental fears or anxiety like I do, I absolutely would 100% recommend them.

I had a broken molar and was in excruciating pain. I was not a patient of Dr Purdys prior to my call so was extremely surprised that I was able to get an appointment the next day. At the appointment, I was impressed with how quickly I was seen and the level of professionalism with all of the staff I worked with. The consultation was straightforward and I felt like all my questions were answered. I was given different treatment options and took the one that best suited my needs. They were able to do the extraction the same day. It was painless and even the next day I am still feeling pretty good. I highly recommend Dr. Purdy for your dental needs.

I worked for Dr. Marc as a hygienist for 2 years and sadly had to move away. I would just like to say he is an awesome employer and an extremely ethical and preventative dentist! This is a great dentist. The staff is friendly and truly wants what is best for the patient. Though they are not in network with any insurance companies, I would pay the extra money to go see them as opposed to going to a bad in-network dentist. Good dentists are hard to find in Ithaca, but Dr. Purdys office is a good one.I recently began experiencing incredible pain in my bottom tooth. Though Dr. Purdy was out of network, I had heard good things about him (and poor things about some of the other dentists), so scheduled an appointment.The dentist assistant Anna was so incredibly helpful. She was able to get me in for an X-ray on Friday (the day I called) when the dentist wasnt there, and she emailed him the x-ray and pictures to figure out what was wrong. The doctor wasnt sure what was going on, but rather than jumping the gun and doing a root canal on the tooth that was hurting, he tried a few other things (ibuprofen to reduce swelling, a panoramic x-ray, another test to determine the pain). He was also happy to refer me to another dentist if I could get an earlier appointment or wanted a second opinion.After they referred me to an oral surgeon, the dentist assistant followed up with me to check on my pain. She also offered to provide me with quotes ahead of time (since Im out of network) so I could call my insurance to see what the fees would be.

I was searching for a new dentist after a bad experience in another office.Dr. Purdy,s office was recommended to me by my two daughter-in-lawsThe office staff was very welcoming and Accommodating.I had to have tooth filled and I have to say I didn’t even feel the shot. The guy is a master at that, my eyes didn’t even water.If you are avoiding a dentist due to the pain issues I suggest you try this office.After drilling ( which was painless) it was determined the tooth couldn’t be saved so I had it pulled.It was nice to have a full service dentist that pulls teeth, does root canals and very rarely sends you someone else to do more specialty work and does it in house. It certainly saves you time and aggravation.He called me personally the next morning to see how I was doing.I also like the way they handle the financial end of the office. Everything is spelled out and gone over prior to the work you are having done so there are no surprises.I found a new dentist!

They have a proactive approach to dentistry that I highly value. Ive always felt comfortable going here and looked forward to it, yes I said it looked forward to going to the dentist.

I just had my first tooth pulled. Friends had told me that the Novocaine injections would be the most painful part of the procedure. I didnt even know Dr. Marc had done the injections because hed used a topical numbing substance first. I kept waiting to feel the needle and never did. I had not one ounce of pain through the entire procedure. I couldnt believe how easy it was! As always, Dr. Marc and his staff made it a very pleasant experience. Thank you!

Dr. Marc Purdy is a superb dentist. He is knowledgable, has an excellent rapport with patients, and knows how to work with anxious patients. (I know this firsthand!) Whats more, hes honest. He doesnt do work on his patients unless it truly needs to be done. Ive gone to him for nearly 20 years and really trust him. His staff is excellent as well. They are professional, kind, and so courteous to their patients. This is an excellent, honest office.
