When I first came here I was full of anxiety. My teeth were in horrible condition and I hardly ever smiled because of it. I had terrible experiences with other dentists being rude and judgmental so I wouldnt go unless I had a serious issue. Making the decision to come to East Shore Dental after hearing their ads on the radio was the absolute best thing I could have done. My teeth and mouth in general have never been so healthy. Every single staff person is nice and never once made me feel uncomfortable. I smile big and wide all the time now. I couldnt be happier.

Have been a satisfied customer for more than 30 years. Appreciate the friendly staff and notice how many are there year to year. Also appreciate Dr. Ormsby’s willingness to adopt new technologies. Only downside? Sometimes feel like staff is too eager to get me to try them, too.

Never had a poor experience at this dentist. They take care to ensure youre pain free. Chipped a tooth once and got slotted in quickly for an appointment for a crown, which are made on-premises, so no waiting with a temporary crown.

I drive almost 2 hours one way to go to the dentist to see Dr.Ormsby and her staff to get dental work done...that there should tell you how I feel about her practice. Her equipment is the latest technology and you get the best of the best. Yes, I could go to a local dentist that would be a bit cheaper but my teeth and health are really important to me, you get what you pay for. For the first time in my life I have no fear of going to the dentist, which is huge for me. A very calming and soothing office and I always leave there with a little lighter bounce in my step!

No matter if it was as simple as needing to change an appointment at short notice or matters of finance, they have exceeded my expectations!As for the services and cost - the services my son and I have received (from cleanings to significant repairs) have been done perfectly without anxiety and stress!My son will be receiving his braces in a few weeks. He is excited. Yes, excited to go see HIS dentist and his friends (the ladies that take care of his every wish)! As for the cost of his braces - 30 years ago, when I had my braces (most traumatic period of my childhood, by the way) my parents paid exactly $1000 less for worse care and shoddy work... I would gladly say that the prices are more than reasonable and fair; not to mention worth every penny!I will never trust my familys dental care to anyone else! I am extremely impressed with the quality of service and care I have received from Dr. Ormsby and her staff over the past few years. They work very competently and efficiently, and they truly care about their patients. Since switching to Dr. Ormsby, I’ve realized that the quality of my previous dental care was poor.I had my aging and failing crowns replaced with new CEREC crowns that look and feel natural – a wonderful improvement over the bulky old ones. They were fabricated and placed the same day, which saved me time and hassle of additional appointments. I consider my dental work a wise investment for my long-term health and happiness.

Very friendly, but didnt listen to my wishes or needs. They insisted on saving my roots, which were already dying, did crowns when I requested implants to replace the teeth, seated all the crowns wrong and broke two while working on them but never said a thing other than oops. Promised implants for a bridge and now they refuse to return my calls. I was charged almost $35,000 and got shafted. It will cost me another $35000 to fix and do close to what I wanted in the first place but cant do exactly what I wanted as the denture piece I didnt want but was told that was my only option crushed my jaw bone so now cant do implants on the lower jaw in the back. Im in so much pain Id pull my own teeth if I had the tools. They should do free repairs if they are going to be that shoddy. Just all around no respect for the patients wishes. Friendly staff, friendly as can be, just no one listens and the Dr doesnt care what you want, its how much she can make off you!

I just saw Dr. Ormsby for the first time yesterday! My dentist totally messed up a root canal and Ive been in excruciating pain for months. When I called, I was able to be seen the sane day! The x-rays and the exam were half of what Ive paid elsewhere. I was treated with compassion and given an explanation of my options in English and it was completely obvious that the staff and Dr. are VERY knowledgeable and caring! Thank you! PS... the office is overlooking the lake and I find it to be relaxing and a refreshing change from the clinical feel

The things I liked:1. The staff was very nice.2. The location and building were beautiful.3. They can provide a lot of services that are hard to find in Ithaca.The things that I did not like:1. They are always pushing you to buy products and services that you dont need.2. They told me that I needed over $10,000 of dental work done (mostly crowns) and it turned out I did not need them once I had switched to a different dental office. Its very hard to trust them because it doesnt seem like they have your best interests at heart.3. They try to convince you, in subtle ways, that there is something wrong with your smile, so that you will feel bad about yourself and then buy more services.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ormsby for over 20 years. I have issues with TMJ and after years of searching and trying other dentists, she is the only one I trust to treat my issues. In fact once I moved from Ithaca, I still drive from Philadelphia just to see her. The office is staff is extremely competent, friendly, and always accommodates my needs and schedule. As for Dr. Ormsby, not only does she help relieve the pain I have suffered with since age 16 but she is truly one of the most caring providers I have ever had.

I had not been to a dentist in more years than I care to admit. I had nothing but bad experiences with anyone that I had gone to in the past, including in my childhood. I was first aware of how personable she is. Besides being able to explain technical scientific information in a compassionate and understandable way she is a good listener and thoroughly answers my questions. I am very appreciative of what Dr. Ormsby and her team have done for me and my dental health. I am a person who has delt with tooth issues from a young age. Age 9 to age 17 and my parents worked for the state so I had been seeing a dentist regularly my whole life.Age 17 is when I started to have serious fear and anxiety regarding the dentist. My family dentist, of many years, referred me to Dr. Ormsby after I had suffered a frontal trauma to my head, combined with severe whiplash. This event had resulted in an extreme Temporal Mandibular Joint Disorder or TMJ, that was made worse by involuntary, spasmodic jaw slamming. I was also experiencing difficulty thinking and speaking due to Post Concussive Syndrome. Additionally, I did not walk well as my ability to balance was not stable. I was using a protective, mouth-plate guard to prevent me from further fracturing and breaking my own teeth. I am so thankful Dr. Ormsby met with me and my wife to assess and plan a strategy to remediate the desperate condition of my teeth and jaw, which was progressively reducing my overall ability to function.Throughout, Dr. Ormsby was very committed to helping me understand the complex process by which we would proceed. She was very patient and willing to explain the step by step procedures required to achieve the maximum benefit for my teeth and jaw. I am so thankful to the Doctor and staff at East Shore Dental for advising me on the benefit of investing in my Invisaligns. I started wearing my Invisaligns a short time ago and can already see the benefit to my bite and spacing. I can only imagine how great my teeth will feel at the end of the full Time. I know alot of people may read or hear that there is pain with Invisaligns but I will attest that I havent had any pain at all, just a slight discomfort in the very beginning but it only lasted a day or two. Im excited to see my end results. Dont put off making your appointment with East Shore Dental any longer. This investment is worth every penny.

My teeth have been under the care of Dr Ormsby for over 20 years and she has done a lot of work in there. I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Ormsbys office. From the friendly faces at the front desk and in the treatment rooms to Dr. Ormsby herself, I felt very welcomed and comfortable. They explained exactly what was going to happen, took care to check on me during the procedure and asked me if I had questions afterwards. I was very happy with their work. The best part I thought was that Dr. Ormsby has such soothing energy!!!

Completely overcharged and over treated my wifes dental work. Most recently she told my wife she needed over 10,000 in dental work or else shed lose her teeth. Went and got a second option this time and the other Doctor said that only 1 crown was neccessary (not 5) and that the price for the crown was way over priced. I am so angry we trusted her last time. I have lost all trust in her. Word of warning, get a second opinion!!

My daughter, Madisyn, had a terrible experience at her previous dentist. I am so relieved that I found a dentist to make her forget about that experience. Dr. Ormsbys staff went above and beyond to keep Madisyn comfortable during her root canal. Thank you to Faye for being incredibly helpful. Not only did she continuously check on my daughter to make sure she was doing okay through her root canal procedure, she also kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. How many receptionists do you know that will put forth that effort? I am very happy :)

If I can say I loved a visit to the dentist and I never thought Id ever say that then I did. Everything was explained to me in terms I could understand. I was shown the x rays so I could see the damage for myself. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I am in for a lot of work but I am completely relaxed and ready for it. The fact I will be sedated is a big load off my mind. If I liked dentists and could face the pain I wouldnt be in the shape Im in. Thank you Dr. Ormsby and staff for getting me started in the right direction. NEW REVIEW I have read all the reviews. Good and not so good. I guess we all have to make up our own mind. No I wasnt prepared for the amount of money I have to pay but after having the surgery last Monday with out any pain AND finding out I did not need a root canal all is ok with me. She could have very well done the rc and I would have never known the difference. They make all the financial arrangements and will call them to reduce the bill. Knowing I will be able to keep my anchor teeth and my upper plate is great. They have scheduled several more appointments to put in the permanent crowns and the rest of the work. If someone wore temporary crowns for a year as far as Im concerned thats their fault. I have received nothing but friendly, caring service.

I came to Dr. Ormsbys office a little less than a year ago. Ive had a couple visits now, and have had a great experience each time. Previously I really hated going to the dentist, and had avoided going entirely for several years (with the exception of dental emergencies). The prices are higher than other dental offices, but I feel that the work is generally worth the price. When I had crowns done, Dr. Ormsby spent an extensive amount of time adjusting and readjusting the bite surface, so that my bite felt correct.

I saw the hygienist who was extremely kind, warm, and professional. I get a bit nervous at the dentist but she was very gentle and I felt no discomfort what so ever.

My family has been coming here for years. Absolutely recommend to everyone.

My wife went to Dr. Ormsby after searching for a qualified dentist near her work - she went to my dentist originally but she was wooed by the slick radio ads to Dr. Ormsbys practice. When she received her estimate after the initial exam, there were thousands of dollars $$ worth of procedures recommended - in the 5-figure range total. The estimate amount was so high I thought my wife received someone elses paperwork. Not to mention the overpriced rates - compared to my dentist the same procedures are averaging 40%-50% higher, and many of the procedures are just not warranted. Local anesthesia for a typical procedure is included in my dentists fees, but they are an additional $800+ fee for Dr. Ormsby. Now comes the kicker - she had a root canal procedure done and Dr. Ormsbys office never scheduled the crown work - so my wife wore a temporary for nearly a year. And now, since she has seen the light and moved on to a real dentist who cares about their patients, she requires a second root canal on the same tooth! - which insurance will not pay for...Seems Dr. Ormsby is more interested in the quick high dollar treatments (radio ads, etc) than paying attention to the health of their patients. I would stay far far away....find a real dentist who cares!

I honestly used to hate going to the dentist until I found Dr. Ormsbys office. She and her staff have a very unique approach to dentistry. Its always a good experience there.

Totally screwed me over, overcharged for work they didnt finish, and then later denied I was even a patient. I will never know why. The prices are to pay for their waterfront business not their dentistry skills. Do not go there.

Superb. I recommend East Shore Dental to my Ithaca area friends. Dr. Ormsby and her staff go the extra mile to make patients comfortable. I went to Dr. Ormsby for braces (as an adult) and routine care. When I expressed interest in her new puppy, Dr. Ormsby arranged for me to meet and play with her adorable puppy as a surprise at my next appointment. Once, on a day the office was closed, she came to work just to fit in an orthodontics appointment with me since I would be out of town the next few weeks. The caregivers are knowledgable and explain everything to me so I felt in control of the braces process. Also, the office feels a bit like a spa - it has gorgeous views of Cayuga lake and is decorated like a home (with nice touches like a handmade quilt on the wall and dried flower wreaths). After I moved to a new state, I continued to periodically return to the Ithaca area to continue my treatment with Dr. Ormsby. Best dentist I have ever had.

I worked for this devil of a woman. To say she is money hungry is an understatement. Dont bother reading the 5 star reviews bc she asked me to look up companies to put those reviews on there because her online reputation is so bad!!!She frequently doesnt even COME IN FOR EXAMS. She has her hygienist do it! I was shocked when I started working there--- this is not legal! She is quite comparable to the devil. She has blocks set up to do scheduling so only very large production cases can be scheduled inthe mornings. They had to be over $4000 to even get an appointment! If case was under $4k I was expected to schedule them out 8 weeks. Hmmmm, when you call for a crown, I could get you right in, but if you wanted to schedule your insert of your crowns, that you already paid for, you had to wait 8 weeks! The lab only takes 2 weeks. BUT SHE LIES TO HER PATIENTS.If you want to come be sedated, be prepared to pay the big bucks. Like, Eight Hundred Dollars big bucks, just for the pills. Otherwise, she will expect you to take out loans to fund her expenses. Money hungry devil here!!
