I have been coming to this Ulta for a while, and the customer service has always been standard which I appreciate.The reason I’m leaving this review is because recently I’ve been noticing two individuals with stellar, above average customer service…Maya and Cayley.On several occasions, I’ve come in and Maya has immediately greeted me, and helped me with finding everything I need. She always knows exactly what I’m looking for without me even saying it. I looooove seeing her face when I walk in the door.Cayley, did my brows (I’m very picky) and she did such an amazing job, I will only be going to her from now on.Good customer service is rare these days. Thank you both for being so welcoming and helpful when I shop.

Hi, My wife went to Ulta today (in Ithaca) and was so happy with Mandy and Alex. They were so knowledgeable, articulate and in a league all of their own. She said everyone should go there now!!!!! Great place!!!!! 🌠

The staff was extremely helpful. When I needed a recommendation on a shade of foundation the staff member helped me choose one and then made sure I was happy.

Makayla is amazing for blondes!! Shes the best colorist Ive had. Such a sweetheart and always gets the right color!

Nice staff. Very friendly. Knowledgeable. However pricing on the Ulta brand itself is higher than I was told it would be. Name brands that you would get at a drugstore are about the same price. However, I would caution you to check sale prices at your local pharmacy before visiting Ulta beauty to get your drug store fodder.

It is a bigger one definitely. They have the huge collection of perfumes and spray. You name it and they have it. All the range of good skin care collection they have it. The clearance is not worth at all. All broken pieces and pricey too. So better ignore the clearance. I liked that this place is clean and maintained. Lot of staff to help around.

I love that we have a beauty store nearby but wish that ulta had a better and friendlier user model.The staff always seems kinda put off and I do enjoy the selection, I just wish it was organized more sensibly

Do the staff know how to help someone find the right shade of foundation or other products needed? My skin has gotten horrible with age. Redness and its do hard to cover, I honestly just dont know what Im doing and need help!!

I come here often, but I do so with others. If I come into this store alone I get watched like I stole something. Im a man who wears luxury foundation and top shelf skincare products and dont appreciate it when I get watched. I worked retail before and Im not stupid to whats going on when I walk into this store. Dont profile your customers it makes us feel like were not welcomed. Im a lover of makeup. I order my products offline now, at least they dont judge me.

Just left the Ulta in Ithaca, NY. Saw my product on sale (signs on all shelves of product); when it rang up not on sale, I showed them the signs. After I requested the sale price, you would have thought I was a criminal. The store had been open for 3.5 hours at that point so I don’t think it was my fault the signs were still up. Pretty pitiful customer service. I’ll go to another Ulta next time.

Absolutely horrible treatment from the management. I asked for help- they said to go see for myself about a purfume I wanted, and I was treated terribly. I couldnt read the bottles well because of my cataracts. Then they told security to find me to tell me never come to their store again!Plus things are way overpriced there! Buyer beware! I got my purfume from another place for half the price! Very poor rude management!!

Do NOT get your hair dyed here if it is dark or in need of bleaching. The chemicals used because of my dark hair absolutely killed my scalp and about 7 months later, my hair is still a dead dry mess. My hair will not stop falling out and the bleach didnt even get rid of all my color before getting dyed. Please note that this has never happened with any of the bleach used on me previously at home and different salons. I was hesitant to write a review because I thought it would go away eventually. No matter what hair care products I used, nothing worked. I dont suggest using the salon for dream colors, but the cut I got was very well done and the makeup selection is nice. Keep your hair safe peeps!

I love ULTA. Weve only had a few times we couldnt find what were looking for but I continue to go there. I love the rewards too.

I had a very weird experience at this Ulta. Went on a weekday and it was initially quite empty. I was looking for Carol’s Daughter products and told an associate as much. She said they may not have that brand and suggested another brand. The problem is that I’m a black woman with natural hair looking for appropriate hair products. The associate directed me to a brand that was clearly not for my type of hair. I passed on her suggestion, found the product that I was looking for, and went about my business. One of the associates seemed to be in almost every aisle I was shopping in. I picked up a Mario Badescu product next to a sign saying 25% of MB products and went to the register. When the item was rung up, it was, in fact, not discounted but the cashier cut off my suggestion to move the misleading product. Just weird, slightly hostile vibes from this place.

I HIGHLY recommend going to see Madi for a facial. Shes incredible. And she will recommend products to use that arent super expensive either. LOVE LOVE LOVE her.

I walked around the store clearly looking for help finding products and was not approached by a SINGLE employee. I asked an associate where I could find someone to help me (since she was helping another customer), she said she would send someone over. 20 minutes later, no one approached me, so I went to check out after unhappily not being able to find what I needed. Not ONLY was actually shopping a poor experience, the cashier was rude and clearly uninterested in helping me in anyway. This ulta has lost my business permanently due to the incredibly poor customer service I received. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I came out with orange hair. I showed the head of the hair salon what I wanted and got a nothing close to it. She curled my hair with her straighter and was rushing st the end for a smoke break. She then wanted to design my undercut and it looked like a 4 year old scratched lines on my head. I was so embarrassed leaving the store that that I put on a hoodie to cover my head. NEVER. AGAIN. Save your time and money and go to an actual place

I had never been in the store ever before. Its huge and everything you could ever want except someone to wait on you. I strolled the aisles looking for John Frieda items, specifically for the hair glaze. I finally found someone that was on thephone, waited and asked where the Frieda products were. She led me to them and said someone else would be over to help me find what I was looking for. So, I find it on the bottom shelf, last two boxes, then up to the cashier. So much for Customer Service. Glad I finally found what I wanted.

Huge selection of cosmetics, hair products and all sorts of fun shiny stuff. I cant go in there without buying something.

I hate to say it. Im not an Ulta fan.The cosmeticians are super helpful though. There is just something I dont like about seeing sets from a year ago for Urban Decay Ala Moana, Honolulu Store. It puts me off. Aside from the prices being a bit higher here with a bigger emptier store.

Staff is always friendly and helpful

Had a meh haircut (twas cheap) and felt like treating my self (treat yo self). Kimmy did a fantastic job! She was professional but friendly and is obviously a skilled hairdresser. Gave me some great tips for when future hair plans and current maintenance. I asked to have my hair fixed up at the bottom and then given another layer. She was cautious about cutting off too much hair, so we went back and forth until it was at the length I wanted, which I thought was fantastic! Nothing like trying to get a trim and leaving three inches shorter -_- Thankfully that didnt happen this time. I paid around $33, not including tip. It usually cost $37 for a haircut but you get a $10 discount your first time around :) Highly recommended~

The service was so helpful since it was our first time at ulta beauty store and it was a great experience! The store was big and pretty clean. Easy to find all the makeup and hair stuff we needed. Located in the perfect spot right next to our hotel lol :)) perfect store I loved it

Horrible experience the woman burned my hair and it broke off all around my edges when perming. Then when I asked to speak with a manager the manager told me she doesn’t get her hair done in Ithaca she goes to New York City. Completely unprofessional! I will never let them touch my hair again!

The staff at the registers seemed very unorganized and couldn’t handle customers very well. Highly disappointed with my experience. I had been in the store for a while looking at brushes and was never approached by someone asking if i needed any help. I eventually found the brush that i needed and walked up to the counter to ask for something and then check out. The lady helped me and walked me to an isle that I needed something from, and I let her know that i left the brush that i was purchasing at the counter and that i would be there in a few seconds. She said OK. I get up to the counter and she SOLD my brush to someone else , and wondered where it went. We could not find another one of the brushes for me to buy. Extremely disappointed in my experience. Hope they can find better staff soon who can be more organized and more aware of what they’re doing.

It was very smelly and super expensive. The attendants follow myself and my friend around like we were going to steal something. That was a huge turnoff.

By far the worst experience I have EVER had getting my makeup done. I have had my makeup done twice at the Ulta in Ithaca, NY and they were both fine but last night was an absolute disaster. My appointment was with Imari and to say that she has no business interacting with customers would be an understatement. She was so incredibly rude on the phone when I called to make the appointments. She spent over 2 hours trying to do my makeup and it was clear she has no business ever doing makeup again. She had to start over twice because she smeared black mascara across my eye (after I repeatedly said I wear brown mascara given the fact that I have very light blonde hair). While applying foundation, she said and I quote: Wow your nose looks really messed up. You must have broken it or something because this is bad. I have broken my nose before but NEVER had anyone comment on it so rudely. At this point I am in tears because of her horrible comments and the fact that she wasnt listening to anything I wanted done with my makeup. After about 90 minutes, I begged her to please just stop, let me leave and I will just do my makeup myself. She refused to let me leave, insisting she was almost done. In the end, I was over an hour late to my event because of her incompetence (which I could have let go but her attitude was what is truly astonishing). I made it clear to her that I did not like what she had done to my face but given the time, I had no choice but to leave it. Given the inappropriate and downright malicious comments she made about my appearance, her rudeness and the fact that it took over 2 hours to complete what was supposed to be a 30 minute appointment, I asked to speak to a manager. She claimed that there were no available managers and proceeded to charge me the full amount despite the horrendous experience. DO NOT EVER GO TO THE ULTA BEAUTY BAR!

Went in today and was incredibly disappointed at the terrible customer service. I have gone in in the past and had my hair done by Kaylee. She was awesome, so friendly, and did an amazing job at doing balayage on my hair. Tonight, I arrived at 6:50pm for my 7pm appointment with Imari. After sitting there for 40 minutes, she let me know that she didnt see my appointment, as she doesnt get notifications from online booking. She also said that she wouldnt have the time to do my hair before closing, so that I was out of luck. 40 minutes wasted and though I wasnt looking for any form of a discount, given my wasted time and not receiving the services for my appointment, it would have been nice to have some sort of apology? Love Ulta, but will probably question whether I should go back.

I had a wonderful experience at the salon here! I went to get my hair and makeup done before a formal event and was so pleased with the result! Kaylee did my makeup and I was so impressed. She really knew her stuff. I brought in some pictures of makeup looks I liked and she did a flawless job recreating exactly the look I wanted. Imari can work magic with hair! My hair typically doesnt curl very well, but she was able to create an amazing romantic curl look. I was also in a bit of time crunch so I was happy that Imari worked so quickly without compromising quality. Also shoutout to Shyanne at the Benefit brow bar! She waxed my eyebrows and gave them a great shape, one that I didnt know they could take. She doesnt only wax away the stray hairs, but really knows how to sculpt a brow. She told me which parts I needed to stop tweezing and let grow out and which parts were ok to tweeze and now I have a fantastic arch. Finally, Id just like to say how kind, friendly and professional everyone was. I felt very comfortable and happy the entire time. I will definitely go back there for any of my beauty needs.
