My wife was verbally disrespected at this salon by the owner! My daughter waited 4 hours for her hair to get done just for the owner to walk in and decided that the lady should not do my daughters hair! I can’t believe in this time we’re living in, where people of color should be sticking together this is the type of treatment we are getting from our own kind. Please save yourself the extreme disappointment and go to one of the respectful salons right up the street. Trust me, no matter the age you will be treated as a priority!

This is the worst experience that have had here. Ive been here years prior and received great service. There was a line of women waiting when I arrived. Someone started a sign in sheet to identify who arrived first. At 8:30 one of the customers retrieved keys from somewhere and let us all in. Almost 15 mins later one worker came. I left shortly after 9 because no other workers had arrived. I did not appreciate the lack of respect for my time. I drove almost an hour to get there before 8 and did not get my hair braided. I will not be going back.

Unprofessional & Money hungry. Prices are never the same, they price you based on how you look/ how much money they can get from you. There are no set prices, they make you call Flokay to get a price. You ask how much something is and they don’t have a price. Eat too much while braiding hair, along with loud excessive talking & walking away on heads. They do great hair. But the unprofessionalism is the entire turn off. There is no professionalism what’s so ever.

Wowwww if I could give zero stars I would. My heart is extremely distressed from the type of treatment I received from the owner! I arrived at 12pm, there were 3 stylists there. Each stylist had their own clientele, the sweet woman responsible for my daughters hair had someone in the chair that she just started, she explained to me that my daughter would have to wait until she’s done with the client in the chair before she gets to my daughters hair. We agreed on the price, and everything was going well, the stylist was so nice and respectful which is why I felt comfortable with my daughter waiting for her. 4 hours later my daughter text me and tells me the owner walked in and is demanding more money for the hairstyle! At this point I’m extremely confused! How can two stylist tell me one price and we agree to it, then the owner comes in and tries too demand more! After a few minutes my daughter texts me never mind she said the original price is okay. 20 minutes later my daughter text me AGAIN and says mommy you have to pick me up, at that point I’m just like okay what the heck is it now! The owner tells me that one of her other stylists had an emergency to pick up her child so she can no longer do my daughters hair! When I get there I see the sweet lady who is supposed to do my daughters hair finishing up the client that my daughter was waiting on, so I asked her what’s the issue, you told me you would do my daughters hair after this client that you’re doing? The poor lady couldn’t even speak she just pointed to the owner and that’s when I realized the type of narcissistic tyrant that is running this place! I explained to the owner this Lady has already agreed to take my daughter next! What’s the problem? The owner replies, my other stylist had an emergency so I’m short staffed. I tell her I understand, but that wasn’t the stylist that was responsible for my daughters hair, the stylist my daughter is waiting on is right here and she already agreed to take my daughter next! Her only response was don’t stress me I’m already stressed, no sorry for the inconvenience NOTHING, so I explain to her my daughter is going to school tomorrow if you’re stressed imagine my stress! She had no care or no remorse! As I left the shop I told her I would be posting a negative review! She followed me out to my car and told me to GO TO HELL! I replied to her thank you God bless you and your entire family!Anyone who follows me knows I don’t not like to post negative reviews on businesses, but this owners actions were beyond repulsive! I’m still in shock that I was cursed out for being upset about how she inconvenienced me! The poor stylists here are so sweet and respectful but they have no voice, and their narcissistic tyrant owner makes them look horrible!

They can be so disrespectful with your hair, like it’s not attached to your scalp. They can be nice, but have bad attitudes when there’s a misunderstanding. I came here early one day because I needed my hair done before a certain time and they didn’t open the door until past 9 and there was only one braider here until 10:15. I was seated at 11. Reminder that the business is supposed to open at 8. Another time, the woman doing my hair took an absurd amount of time because she took many breaks to talk on the phone. If you say your hair is too tight, they tell you “it’s not tight” and move on. They were overcharged me once before they realized that I was related to someone the owner liked. Mind you, this place is far from cheap. Some of the braiders are such kind ladies, and they do good work, so it’s a shame that the service is so hot and cold.

I called the shop and requested 6 cornrows going straight back. Flokay said for me to call back in 1.5 hours or so to confirm. I called back 3 times no answer. I drove to the salon and Flokay said to wait for a worker to do my hair. I waited 2 hours for this worker to say she cant braid cornrows straight back, she can only braid on a slant. 🤔🤔Im sorry, isnt cornrows especially braided straight back like Braiding 101?? Waste of time at this unprofessional shop.

Would not recommend at all!!!! I came at 10:00am, it’s now 4:00pm & im still waiting to get my hair done. They told me that the lady that was available couldn’t do my hair which was a lie because i seen her do the style that i wanted and they let somebody that came in after me go before me. I will never come back here, i can’t believe they’re still in buisness .

They are horrible, they talk about you in a different language, which is French they have no set prices they pick and choose!!! They are rude. They also have a wifi but won’t give you the password when you ask for it?!! They treat kids so bad for example I’m 15 and I went in there and I’m very small so they talk and laugh at me!! But when my moms here they say nothing

I use to come to Flokays years ago, now I remember why I stopped. She has no set prices for the most common hairstyles. Knotless box braids are different prices for everyone. If she is not here you have to call her to get a price for the style you want. She quotes a different price to everybody. Everywhere else I have gone the price for knotless box braids are standard by the size small medium large and of course its more if you want them extra small. Its very unprofessional the braiders are on their phone take breaks every 10 minuntes talking loud while braiding your hair. Needless to say I will never come back here again. My hair came out nice, they do good work but I just cant deal with the unprofessionalism.

Been hearing about flokay for yearssss. I finally went.Pros: Friendly environment, Stylist checked on me during the braiding session. My hair came out BOMB!!!!! Flokay greets each customer with a smile and hug ❤️Cons: Says open at 8am didn’t open until 8:45.Place isn’t that clean. Definitely needs upgrading. Very loud at times, so bring headphones. Very expensive, but y’all love the work they do! Thank you Flokay and Staff

I went there once before for big braids and they braided my hair extremely tight but i figured it was because of the style. I went back two weeks ago..got there at 3 pm with my own hair and told her i want virtue twist or passion twist. She said okay i know how to do it. I sat there from 3 until 9 pm because she promised to get someone. As i am getting ready to leave, she gave me the same lady that did my hair the last time...she had to blow out my hair, she was so rough. Then i showed her the style and she tells me i am wrong and shes gonna do it the way she know how to. The braids didnt look bad when it was done but i knew it wouldnt last long because she didnt braid it far down enough to not slip out of my hair. And she put so much jam that it was heavy. Then she tells me its 180 halfway through. Im like this braids are mad big in the parts and i brought my own hair? It took her until 1230 in the morning to finish. I woke up and four braids were out already and it was slipping in the front..two weeks later i am taking them out most of the back is gone and i look like Ive had it for six months...I could have done a better job myself because i braid but i was just lazy..but they keep people waiting too long, they are always arguing about not wanting to braid people hair, and she should have told me the price before i started

I dont care how well they can do hair theres always some where else just like how my money green like everyone else. the attitudes are real and good customer service is out the door!!! Two experiences where I didnt like my hair, the same person every time and at any given time if I decided I dont like how my hair is coming out during service I will say something. IT SHOULDNT BE A ARGUEMENT

Very unprofessional. They need to close down not everyone has their license and their mouths are very smart. I was planning on tipping big because i have heard they do nice work but from my experience with the workers they need to close this place out of business. There shouldn’t be nasty attitudes to customers when running a business no matter what the customer is always right. I was threatened that they would cut out my hair if I continued to count my money slow which I wasn’t doing intentionally. I was caught off guard. What Flokays didn’t realize is that I myself have a license in cosmetology. I let her continue her rant while my ride Came. She gave me my money back with a couple of braids in my hair and said i have to go because they are closed. And I can no longer sit in her shop. That’s when i threw knowledge on her about customer service and facts from the book. Then she left it alone and tried to apologize to me and told me she would continue my hair. I declined her offer due to the fact that she already had stirred up something very unnecessary. I even recorded when she was arguing with a customer previously before i even got my hair started because i felt like flokay and her workers were ganging up on the customer and that wasn’t right. All the customer said to the women that was braiding her hair was that her braids were too big and that’s not what she had asked for and then she kindly asked can she please do them how she like beings though she is spending her money on it. Overall, I will NOT be back here and I will take this to the Board.

I was impressed because the stylist gave me the exact style I asked for. I showed her the picture and she did it exactly like the pic. Normally my experience with braid shops are they can braid but they cant style, but Flokays got it right I will be returning😏

Do not go to Flokay......they eat food while they are working and put their fingers and crumbs in your hair. The costumer service is none existent ... They put these big braids in my daughets hair it looks like $ 50 braids I never would have paid $150 for this size...... Dont do it to yourself go somewhere else. You deserve better for your money. You at-least deserve clean hands and a clean comb.

I went into this salon 6/22/19 because someone close recommended it and had positives things to say and her hair came out very nice. So I must say I went into the salon on a Saturday around 2 pm. There was many people in the salon and luckily for me there was some sort of street west Indian theme parade. The stylist were highly distracted by this and kept on leaving the customers to watch this parade, I thought this was very unprofessional. Then I finally began my hair around 4 pm, well not really. The stylist said she has to go and eat and she will be back. So around 5 around she attempted to being my hair again. The style was not listening to what I had to say and how I wanted my hair done. She was very loud, talking the entire time, distracted and literally kept on getting up after one or two braids. Either she stopped to talk while using her hands, stopped to text or just stopped to walk away. At one time, I tried to speak with her about how I wanted my box braids, she just didnt say anything and immediately got up and walked away for along time. It was the oddest thing.... finally around 8pm my hair was somewhat done after all this drama, but my bad experience doesnt end there. She left all the box braids unfinished, half way. She then told me to stand up and waved for me to stand in the front. I asked her what does that mean since this is my first time here, can you explain and she didnt even look at me and walked away. When I tried to ask the other stylist, they completely ignored me!!! I sat in the front quietly and an hour later, another random person started braiding my hair ...she once again once she got half way..walked away. The original stylist that was doing my hair came back and then she made angry sounds and started talking in her language and backed her bags and left! LMAO I cant make this up!! At this point I started to help them because it was 8:30PM!!! I was so tired, hungry and miserable I just wanted to go home, so I began braiding my own hair as well since I was getting box braids and they were left braided halfway. I ended up finishing at 10 PM!!! and I arrived at 2PM!!! I forgot to tell you, my hair wasnt even half way done and they collected the money and had me sign a book. I will never ever EVER return to this shop...I drove 40 mins away from home to try somewhere new...it was the worst experience of my life. Please be aware of the level of unprofessionalism at this shop and they only seem to worry about the money aspect and not how the customers feel or could care less. They literally wasted my Saturday afternoon and night. I got home about almost 11pm. On a side note, around 9 PM, there were many other customers there and they started getting upset as well one was cursing at the stylist and the other was just venting out loud saying how she has been at this shop since 7:30 AM. Anyways STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!!!

I have always been a long time good customer, always shouted them out on my Instagram page and Facebook complementing them on doing amazing hair. But two weeks ago when I got my hair braided, I was one of the last girls in the shop, I was getting ready for my trip And I had the most worst horrible experience and made it my business to never come back to flokay ever again. The braider that was doing my hair as well as the owner Flokay talking to me made me feel so low and literally humiliated me in front of staff members, when your a person suffering with Alopecia (hair loss or ball spot) you supposed to treat that customer with nothing but respect and not say “oh this is a complicated hairstyle” we can’t do this we going to charge you $200. You should make that person feel normal comfortable just like the rest of the customers and accommodate that customer and do an excellent job without complaining. The braider said it out loud “I am dealing with this girl with a ball spot” like I wanted everybody to know my business it is a very sensitive serious symptom and they need to understand that do your research and RESPECT the client.I never in my life felt so humiliated, me being a loyal customer be treated like that that’s why her business won’t boom as much as other business are blooming. In Atlanta there is the artist who specialize in this symptom Alopecia customers or people who have loss of hair due to whatever reason and does a excellent job and makes the customer feel beautiful and comfortable enough to sit in their chair and get their hair braided regardless of how much hair they have on their head. flokay needs to learn how to be a better boss and teach her staff to be better customer service people. That was the last straw and I will never come back to that place ever again that was the most horrible feeling I ever felt in my life. And if anybody or any of my friends asked me about that braiding place I will tell them not to go there because they will be sitting for hours and once they get in a chair it’s all day when if you’re in a chair and 9 AM you should be done by 1 PM it shouldn’t take that long like all night to get your hair done.

I just got my Hair Done yesterday. I ask the lady not to briad my hair in big BRIADS I want small , as she was briading I stop her , I said I ask for small briads. She said Im going to do the bottom row big nobody will see it and the top row small, at this point im mad because I knew it would look a mess using the method big briads on the bottom and small on top. ALSO SEEM LIKE EVERYONE HAVE AN ATTITUDE. Where do I start? Til this day they cannot open on time. Theyre suppose to open @ 9am & 9 times out of 10 youre still standing outside in all types of weather conditions waiting for someone to show up & open the door. At some point customers outside start calling flokay the owner & she has to call her workers to see whos going to show up, this goes on even after youre inside. Its possible that you can be sitting an additional hour just waiting for a braider to show up to do your hair. Yes they take a lot of breaks, yes they like to eat and braid your hair, yes you do not know if the comb is clean & yes Ive seen them pick things off the floor and put it in someones hair. Ive had two experiences where I did not like my hair. THE OWNER LOVES TO COLLECR YOUR MONEY B4 SERVICES ARE RENDERED. Theres different workers rotating there so dont expect the person that did your hair months ago to be there when you return. So you have to get used to someone else. Now on the other hand they are some workers that are quick gets the job done & ask you if it looks okay. Theres very few shops that can braid close together and get them edges. This shop isnt cheap. I think everything starts @ $150.00 like Damn Flokay! Add more comfortable seating for customers, stop playing so much & get people out. We get tired of sitting 6-8 hours or more. Who knows maybe you want to start considering setting appointments. Give discounts to loyal customers & OPEN ON TIME!

Didnt get a hairstyle done here. I stopped in for prices and realize that even with the amount of Transportation it would take to get to New York, New York prices are much better and the service is just as professional if not better

Dont go here to get your hair done. I was there until 1:20 a.m. I had micro-braids done for $180. The edges were braided well, but the inside has huge braids that were not braided with enough hair.
