BEST gym ever. The staff is exceptional. Not only is this gym a community but also a family. They work incredibly hard to keep it clean, and efficient for all. Justin is an AMAZING boxing coach. He’s not only good at what he does but he’s an educator as well. He’s always on time, and always has tons of energy and positive vibes. He’s so inspiring 🖤👏🏽🙏🏽

This gym is the best! The equipment in the gym is awesome (squat racks, Texas power bars, safety squat bar, etc). The staff here are courteous and very cordial - they make the experience in the gym a whole lot better than your average gym. I will miss this gym dearly and it will be difficult to find a gym like this since I have moved. Thank you Stroud’s - so very much.

The gym equipment is wonderful. However, I have had some major issues. I signed up for a 12 month contract in January 2020. There were no issues with Strouds Fitness drafting $31.39 out of my account every month, as it should have been. I visited the facility to cancel my membership in early February 2021. After telling the man at the front desk that I want to cancel my my membership he said the computers were down, wrote my name on a sticky note and said it would be taken care of. It was not taken care of and there was no record of me canceling my membership and I was drafted for March and April. Confused but still patient and understanding, I visited the facility again. Lee, who I believe helped me before ( he thinks it was someone else) told me that he cant cancel memberships at the front desk and theres only one person who can, Candi but she doesnt work at the gym and she doesnt have a contact number or e-mail. Lee said that he would tell Candi to call me about a refund for those 2 months. He wrote my second cancellation request on yet another sticky note and when I asked for something in writing stating that it would be cancelled and I wouldnt be charged, he couldnt produce such a document. What I thought was a proud, honorable local gym is actually a business that is untrustworthy with severe disorganization. Again, I gave this business no issues drafting my monthly membership fee from my account every month but I am having a nightmare trying to cancel. I have been nothing but kind and patient, but I have been taken advantage of and its not all about the money. Its mostly about the principle.

I wish I had found this gym sooner. There is no other gym I would want to be a member at. Everyone including staff, trainers and other gym goers are as friendly as can be. I never have to wait to use equipment. I highly recommend this gym as it is truly the best bang for your buck.

Shroud’s Fitness is great. I was looking for a personal trainer; asked a good friend for a recommendation. I made the initial call and spoke to the trainer. Jimmy does his training sessions at Shroud’s so I made an appointment to check out the facility.Kirk answered my questions and explained my options without any hard-sell tactics that many gyms use. My roommate and I chose a twelve month membership and started working with our trainer.I’m happy with my decision and Shroud’s Fitness.

Great gym/fitness center for anyone serious about getting in better shape. I was at 24hr fitness for yrs and make little progress. Since going to Strouds, I have made significant improvements. Staff is alway friendly and chill.

This is a real gym with real powerlifting equipment. No nothing is fancy and all the machines work and they have been working for decades. Youre not going to find Loud banging music, yoga areas, women only rooms or cross fit B.S., just heavy weights and sturdy machines. You will find men AND WOMEN who want to be stronger and bigger but at the same time dont judge what youre doing no matter what shape, age or condition youre in.

I love strouds, I drive 30 mins to workout there. They have everything you need to get into the best shape of your life. The staff is very friendly and always have kind words of encouragement.

Unlike a lot of newer gyms, Strouds has the old-school leg room in the back full of racks, monolifts, deadlift area, competition bench, leg presses and much more. If youre into black iron barbell work, its the place for you.On the other hand, if you like treadmills, machines, and dumbbells, then the front room is huge and will be a perfect fit. Something great for everyone no matter how you chose to train.

I love this gym. I felt stronger the first time I walked in there. All the staff are friendly and willing to help as well as the trainers. Every walk of life trains here, big, small, skinny & tall, and all are welcome.

I have to recommend this gem of a gym! The manager Lee and owner Kirk are so nice to have when you walk in from a long day at work and then to work out! Its your classic gym with a strong faith led owner and team! The other patrons are just so nice as well! Plenty of free weights and cardio machines. Clean shower and restrooms!

The childcare is great and the staff is so sweet and knowledgeable. If you have a goal in mind, they will help you meet it and you will find a safe place for kids and a fun place to get in shape.

Ive been in the DFW area for a little over a year now, finding a good gym is like trying to go house shopping at times and trying to find a price that doesnt break the bank but also has good equipment and good staff. Ive been waiting to do a bodybuilding competition for years now but didnt know where to look so i got referred to Winston, from another coach. My first time coming to Strouds, i walked in the first door and the first thing i saw was a white board with a Bible Verse on it, automatically i liked the gym something so small like that made the biggest difference! Meeting Winston for the first time was a great experience, only did he know what he was talking about but he didnt pressure me into anything. he has been an amazing coach, December 19th 2020 will be my first competition Ive ever done, and with Winston i know ill bring the best package to the stage! I normally workout in the morning, so i always run into Lee at the front desk, which come to find out he is the one that has been writing the Bible Verses on the whiteboards every morning, Lee really sets the energy for the gym and is very kind and uplifting. I would Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking in the area!

Gym atmosphere is great. Everyone in the gym is positive and encouraging. They make it a point to call you by your name and greet you and there are plenty of professionals to help you with your fitness goals. If you want a real training gym this is the place to be.

The equipment could be updated and the weekend hours are definitely limited (M-Th have very good hours). But it’s a good gym if you like supporting small businesses and want to avoid the big commercial gyms. It also has specialty bars and a large amount of dumbbells so it’s very good if you focus on lifting weights, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I have been a member of Strouds Fitness for over 12 years.. Of all the gyms that I have worked out at Strouds is my favorite. I have been a member at Get Fit in Arlington, Golds Gym in Arlington, 24 Hour Fitness, YMCA in Arlington and Womacks Gym in Watauga. I was also a member at Power Shack in Abilene, Texas for 9 years. Kirk and Samm Stroud are very good Christian and loving people. About ten years ago they adopted two children and they are awesome parents. Strouds is in between a hard core gym and a shiny new equipment gym. You will always be greeted by a friendly receptionist and a unique quality of Kirk is he knows everyones name. Stop in at Srouds and check it out. You wont be disappointed!

Overall great experience so far. Slightly older looking appearance and style, but all equipment seems to be continually in working order. The gym members and staff are friendly and helpful. If the locker room space was redone, it’d be perfect. But considering the excellent price, I still give it a 5/5.

One of the best experiences in the fitness industry. My boyfriend and I went in about a month ago. We got to walk around and see what equipment was there. But the awesome part came when the owner approached us and talked about our fitness journeys and how he runs the gym. We immediately felt their family culture and could tell he actually cares about his customers. We signed up same day, and Kirk has remembered our names every day since.

Strouds is a good place to consistently work out. It is unpretentious ad is seldom to busy to get your work out elements done. I have trained my Special Olympics Athletes there for 15 years in their Circuit and Power Lifting regimen!

If you are looking for a gym family, this is the place. Strouds is a real gym for a real workout. Jam packed with equipment and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The members there are focused, educated, and motivated. Best part is how nice they all are, even the trainers - always willing to answer simple questions you might have. My only complaint is when people dont rack the weights when theyre done and the staff doesnt monitor or rectify that very well.

This is a family run business. Yes... It is part of my extended family. But I know there ethics, how long they have been around and there dedication. I personally do not go their , but it truly is that I just do not exercise. I am not making this review to boost their business. They truly are family run , they have exceptional customer service. They have been in business for so long,from my point of view because they are so dedicated. They are very hands on. I could go on and on. Just know this is not me selling their business. They are truly exceptional. You walk in and will be met by a Stroud with love and dedication.

This is an awesome old school gym, no frills. Youll find everything you need to reach youre goals, and people that are genuinely glad youre there. Kirk, the owner, is an incredible man, and his staff its wonderful too. They have a great little protein shop hidden to the left of the entrance. Give it a try, they are all sweetened with stevia, and taste delicious. Ive worked out here on and off for over 15 years, and its still just as awesome.

I have been a member of Strouds Fitness Center for over twenty years and it seems like a second home to me. They have excellent instructors and always so ready to assist with the use of the equipment. I will be 84 this month and attribute my agility and well being to participating in this gym and making it a part of my every day life!

This is not a mom gym, no marble floors, no piped in easy listening station, there are no juice bars, you dont go here to get a pedi or your hair done. This is an honest to goodness WE GONNA PUMP U UP place, you want results go here. The place has lots of energy, knowledgeable people, clean and they wont look at you funny if you drop the weights on the squat rack. One of the best muscle gyms in DFW!!

My immediate impression of the gym and staff were quite good. The members have all been very polite and courteous when needing and sharing equipment. So far this place has been money well spent.

One of the best Gyms out there every body who works there is extremely nice the trainers are excellent one of my favorite Gyms for sure!!

I will give credit where its due - for the most part its a good gym and people are pretty friendly. But for the gym itself, its especially good for those more into strength sports Powerlifting, strongman, etc. Theres normally enough availability of other equipment and fellow gym goers usually dont mind you working in with desired equipment.But after spending a year plus here Ive noticed a growing trend - an insular, passive aggressive faction who should you not like or have a problem with one of the trainers, for whatever reason there is, you are treated (in)differently.Other than that, if youre into any of the said strength sports or prefer a smaller gym atmosphere or seeking a strength coach extraordinaire (Matt Brown) then I definitely recommend this gym.

I like the overall atmosphere here, it not like the corporate gyms at all. Family pricing is great, they offer tanning services, and the owners are good people. There are a lot of really fit people that workout here and seeing them makes you want to push yourself that much harder and there are trainers if you need the help and motivation.

If you are tired of commercial gyms, this is the place to be. Whatever way you train here, you’re met with respect and a genuinely friendly atmosphere. The locker room is somewhat dated, but you can beat the price for the equipment they have—sleds, tires, monolifts, specialty bars, chains, reverse-hyper—not to mention a sauna.

When I walked into Strouds I was looking for a change. A change in my motivation and a change in my life. Not only does the owner remember everyones name but the trainers and members smile and speak to you. No one is there to crush someones goals or progress they only encourage. Weather your a newbie whos never been in a gym or a person whos a few years in and just looking for a change I fully recommend this gym.

Signed up for a membership for my girlfriend and myself, we ended up moving but we paid our deposit and first month. Asked to get out of the gym contract as we never even once worked out there. Was directed to the owners direct number, tried to make contact more than once. Fast forward and I now suddenly owe over $400 via a collection agency. Once again have tried to reach the number, but no callback or answer.

The Stroud family was very hospitable to our athletes when we trained at their facility and provided an excellent venue for our Special Olympics Powerlifting competitions. They are very knowledgeable in assisting people in their training regimens.
