Dr Cantrell was terrific. Professional and courteous. Communicated well and provided explanations for my questions until I understood.His staff was just as good, including the check in and check out/follow up appointment folks.The TOC organization is “doing it right.”

Doctor Cantrell is the best ortho surgeon ever! My recovery process has been challenging, but through by Gods grace and mercy all is coming through , the healing process is going okay. I couldnt have had a better doctor to have done such a great job repairing my Shoulder Joint (Labrum) Tear. Im getting stronger each day, pains and discomforts with fade when healing process is complete. When you are at the age of 56 plus, also several injuries/surgeries, the body takes its coarse to heal. This place is ran like a well-oil machine. All Dr offices need to take note of how to process patients to get in front of Dr. When Dr Cantrell arrived in my room to see me he was prepared and had done his research on past MRI from couple of years ago. Great experience!

Check in went smoothly and wait-time was only a few minutes. Dr. Cantrell listened to my medical concerns and recommended physical therapy to address my knee pain and shoulder pain. His diagnosis and treatment plan was communicated to me in an understandable way and I like his conservative approach with surgery being an option of last resort. Highly recommend.

I have never witnessed such poor bedside manner or attitude from a physician. After pressing all over my SOs injured knee (suspected by PCP to be an MCL tear) Dr. Cantrell complained that the patient wasnt reactive enough to pain, I guess because he wasnt yelling or whining but instead light headed and near passing out. Cantrell began to give his opinion but became aware the patient wasnt focused and rudely snapped are you even here with me? Are you awake? And sort of got in the patients face. Then he said hatefully that hell order a test and see him after that before storming out and taking his bruised ego with him. SO elected to not proceed with the MRI and to reschedule with Sportsmed instead. Absolutely appalling. Would not recommend this doctor to anyone, especially to anyone that reacts to pain by shutting down or nearly passing out.

Absolutely fabulous experience every time. Polite, kind, caring and professional individual who takes the time to answer your questions. I cant say enough good things about him or his staff. They are all wonderful. This was my 5th different surgery with him and his team. They never disappoint.

Dr. Cantrell is monitoring my shoulder issue but is well aware of other current situations I am having with heart procedures. He has given me injections to ease pain until he is able to do a procedure on my shoulder. He is avoiding my having an over load of painful issues.

As soon as I stepped into the office at The Orthopedic Center, I was a bit nervous because I was a new patient and was anxious about my visit, but once I approached the kiosk, input my information, and sat and waited to be seen, I started to feel a bit more at ease. From the encounter with Beth who asked detailed questions, to getting my x-rays by the technician, I begin to feel more and more like I was in good hands. Once Dr. Michael Cantrell stepped in, his presence was calming, sincere, and relaxing. He was so, so kind and soft spoken and really took quality time with me. Explaining the next course of action with the most patient sincerity meant a lot to me and they even provided a thank you gift for being a new patient with them. Not to mention, I was listening to 88.1 as I approached TOC and there was an ad for Dr. Michael Cantrell and I took that as a sign that I was in good hands, and I believed it! I met Dr Cantrell for a second opinion (misdiagnosed by another Dr in Madison) to look at a very painful lump on my knee. I was seen by his staff before Dr Cantrell met me and they were as I would expect i.e. kindly and considerate. Dr Cantrell was the same and after carefully examining my knee, said that it was a lump that needed to be removed and not an inflamed tendon for which I had recently been misdiagnosed. He was unable to say if it was cancerous without a surgical biopsy and booked me for surgery the following week.I found the surgical center staff to be very professional, with little to no delay. The surgery was a keyhole procedure and was very quick, which removed a non cancerous tissue lump. The mass was sitting on a nerve and was the reason for the extreme discomfort. I was discharged and able to walk when i got home. Recovery was quick and painless over the next two weeks.The follow up experiences with Dr Cantrell and his staff were always timely, polite and kind. Dr Cantrells excellent bedside manner is clearly followed by all of his staff.In summary: I found Dr Cantrell and his staff to be kind, considerate and most importantly caring. The surgery was a complete success and has removed a problem that I had put up with for years. Highly recommended in my opinion.

Wow! Dr. Cantrell did an amazing job with my shoulder. It is now better than it has been in years and Im back to lifting weights. My only regret is I didnt have the surgery sooner!

Dr. Cantrell took time to explain options other than surgery allowing me to make the decision. It was a bit of a wait to schedule surgery with Dr. Cantrell but I feel he has done a excellent job on my ACL replacement and Meniscus repair. I am three months out and healing / recovering as scheduled. Office wait times can be a bit long however quality of work and full recovery is what is most important.Updated: Nine months post surgery, leg strength is 100%, feeling great and received approval for full athletic activity with ACL brace for 1 year. You must work your physical therapy to see these results!

Dr Cantrell was very through in my examination. He was concerned with not wanting to inflect any further pain while he examined my Left Shoulder. He wanted to be aggressive with finding out what was wrong with my shoulder. I was scheduled for and MRI as soon as possible to further identify the problem so he could address the correct treatment to correct my problem.

Dr Cantrell is the most dismissive arrogant doctor I have ever encountered. He immediately walked in the room and said there is nothing I can do for you. I have a bad knee with a meniscus tear. Since my last appointment I had developed swelling and fluid accumulation. Before even accessing my knee or greeting me he tells me what he cannot do. I will never return and under the care of another doctor. If you dont like people find something else to do. This is not volunteer work. His staff was great.

After developing a problem post surgery Dr Cantrell stated he did not know why I was having problems and refused to do any diagnostics to determine why I was having these ongoing problems. He was dismissive and defensive. Don’t be fooled by his polite demeanor.

The doctor was very professional. He actually helped me decide the exercise that best suited me because of my leg situation.

I have NEVER been treated so bad by a doctor or office staff in my life! Start with the desk staff, they rolled their eyes, was blatantly annoyed I asked any question, and sighed heavily if they had to move. They forced me to front $150 even tho I had already met my deductible and tried to force me to pay for my brace out of pocket (another $150 and twice the price as online.)When I didn’t improve, I had to BEG the nurse for an MRI. When they scheduled it, they booked for BioImaging (that this doctor partially owns.) This facility was hundreds of dollars more expensive for me and my “wonderful” insurance and would have delayed care by two days (during which they said to continue therapy without knowing what it said.) I had to physically go to the office and demand the facility he change. Multiple office staff flat out refused to change it. It wasn’t until I made it known that I knew it was illegal for them to do this before they would change it.Then my follow up was a totally of 2.5 minutes in which the doctor ignored my concerns for lack of progress, insinuated I was a drug addict (cause I asked for something strong than Tylenol) and told me to take meds that cause SEVERE stomach pain and vomiting even tho in have extensive GI problems. I have never been so belittle and humiliated by anyone, let alone a medical professional and I’m a nurse!

Was by far the worst experience I ever had. I was referred by my doctor to Dr. Cantrell so he could run a scope down my knee. After a long wait, I was finally called back. Dr. Cantrell was probably in the room with me no more then 3 minutes where I explained to him the problem I been having and what Dr. Su said. He told me the scope wad probably not needed, he couldnt do anything for me and to just live my best life with the pain and deal with it and then he walked out. I would not recommend this doctor to ANYONE!
