Functional Chiropractic is the BEST chiropractic office in the Huntsville area. Both doctors are extremely knowledgeable, kind, and value the care they provide their patients. They are extremely affordable compared to other offices in the area with one of the best staffs. They are also cervical specialist and Webster trained (very important for pregnant women and children). They have my business!

This is a great place for preventative health! They are professional, warm, and love to educate their patients. I have seen many benefits since being under regular chiropractic care but the most important is my improved immune system. I almost never get sick, when I do its much easier to get over.

I was suffering from lower back pain and pain that would travel down my legs when sitting too long. While also hurting when standing for too long. So I’m short, I was miserable.I am a teacher and so I stand most of the day during the week, but even when sitting to get some relief, I would begin hurting.I have been with Dr. Porter for about 2 months now and have felt a drastic difference in my pain. I am back to being able to stand for long amounts of time, run without my hips absolutely killing me, and being able to drive for trips without having to stop to walk around.I’m so glad I found this office and have been able to truly feel like I’m getting lasting relief and proper care for the future.

I came to Dr. Porter with chronic shoulder and ankle pain. I could not run and even at rest , my shoulder ached. I could not recommend Functional Chiropractic enough! I am an epileptic that has suffered with chronic migraines for over ten years with no relief. After being put on several medications, things seemed to be getting worse instead of better. I was in constant pain from either the migraines or the side affects from my medications. I was miserable. After speaking with a coworker, she told me to go to Functional Chiropractic to get my atlas looked at. Not only have my migraines reduced significantly (I have only had one since I started going), but I have reduced the amount of medications I am taking and feel like a completely new person!

Dr Porter has helped my neck improve & I have seen instant results at times! One time my knee was out of whack & instantly after I got off the table, it quick its popping. I am definitely one of those skeptics when it comes to chiropractic work but Dr. Porter changed my life. I have lived in constant pain for the last 6 years with increasing neuropathy pain along my left side. I have suffered from many migraines that took away from being with my family, dizziness when turning my head, my list could go on and on, I mean it’s been 6 years of stuff. After the very first session with Dr. Porter I felt a difference and each session after that just got better and better. I visited Functional Chiropractic hoping for a quick 5 minute adjustment. What I found is SO MUCH BETTER! Focusing first on my neck and upper spine took away the year long slight nerve pain in my right arm as well as the nagging irritation just below my shoulder pains. Dr. Porter has helped my neck, back, and hip alignment tremendously. Being a weightlifter and distance runner, over time I have developed quite a bit of tightness in my muscles and some misalignment throughout my back and hips. I gave Dr. Porter a try and I was surprised how much he was able to get back into alignment and relieve a lot of the tightness in muscles. He’s even gotten relief in certain tight spots that I’ve had for quite some time and other chiropractors just weren’t able to take care of. His thought process and technique is a little different from other chiropractors I’ve seen and it has helped out a lot. He uses a gentle but very effective technique to make the adjustments. Not at all jarring. I noticed since having my back and hips balanced and aligned, my 1RM reps have gone up significantly and mile pace in running has dropped. Dr. Porter and his staff are very professional and friendly. They make the extra effort to know you so they can help you out as much as possible and I never feel rushed. Very nice clean office environment. I highly recommend him.

I was introduced to Dr. Porter at a health fair my employer hosted. I kept meaning to go in and check him out, but kept forgetting. Then my sciatica flared up and I couldnt stand up straight. The day after my first treatment I noticed a significant change in my pain levels. After the second treatment, it was gone and I had improved range of motion. The Menieres disease started about one year ago. I was getting dizzy, having severe vertigo, and fullness in the right ear. Nothing seemed to help. My wife found Functional Chiropractic on the web. I was skeptical about going, but what could it hurt. I have not had any dizziness whatsoever in three months and I experienced fullness in my ear only one day. I have had three adjustments by Dr. Porter and plan on continuing the treatment. I did make one other change in my lifestyle that may have made a difference. I use to like to sleep on the sofa and now I dont. The position of my neck while sleeping may have contributed to my problem. I do not watch my salt or caffeine intake,and I drink a glass of wine about once every two days. I highly recommend trying these treatments with Dr. Porter!

He and his wife run the entire show and are extremely hospitable as well as flexible so there wont ever be a time to stress if you can do it. They can tell you exactly what you need. Trust them!

Dr. Porter is fantastic! I would recommend him to anyone, but especially to those who are experiencing neck pain and are nervous about seeing a chiropractor. He has an excellent bedside manner, and also takes the time to really explain everything he does regarding patient care. The office staff is friendly and quick to respond, and making an appointment is never difficult. The office is located in a very convenient spot, and is wide open; no stuffy rooms to be in while youre waiting your turn to see Dr. Porter. He is honest, sincere, efficient, and will never push you to do something that isnt right for your healing plan. His only concern is putting his patients on the correct path of rehabilitation, and that they are comfortable throughout the process. Solid 5 stars!

I started seeing Dr. Porter when I was 5 months pregnant. I am now going on 37 weeks & this was one of the best decisions I have made for myself. I have had back & shoulder issues for a few years now from a car accident. When I started getting more of a baby bump to carry around it started to aggrevate the lasting issues that Ive struggled with more than normal. The weekly adjustments with Dr. Porter have been a lifesaver. It really helps me to feel my best & keep the aches & pains associated with pregnancy at bay. Especially when it comes to my lower back and hips. Not to mention the added benefits that baby and I will see during labor with my spine and pelvis being in proper alignment. He is wonderful with children as well and I will definitely be bringing the baby to see him after she is born so he can reset her atlas after the birthing process.

I never knew what a difference adjusting the upper spine could make. Through a thorough exam of my x-rays and looking at how I stand, Porter addressed a reoccurring issue with my right hip. Sounded strange to me that adjusting my neck could have such an affect on my whole body. I feel so much better and I walk better.

By far the most effective chiropractor Ive seen! When I started seeing Dr. Porter I was having chronic migraines and lots of issues with chronic pain. Now I have farm more pain-free days and my migraines have improved to the point that I dont need anything more than an ibuprofen on headache days! I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Dr. Porter as soon as possible! Theres no reason to live with pain and discomfort. Its not a natural part of the aging process and it can be greatly improved with proper care. :)
