As a graduate from dental school I was looking for a specialist that can help me with a severe tmj that developed over the course of 4 years in dental school.My limitation to open was so minimal that I had a hard time eating, chewing and even the basic of brushing my teeth. I could not do any of that without the excruciating pain that I felt constantly in trying to open. Im so glad I found Dr. Sun, after explaining to me the process of different treatments, she wanted to do most minimal to save me money. In adjusting my bite for a few weeks it started feeling better. After a month of wearing her temporary bite adjustment, my opening had return to normal. I wasnt feeling anymore pain to eating or even opening wide. However I am more weary of limiting my opening from being too wide.Dr. Sun took care of me like I was her own family member. Very caring, knowledgeable and kind. Shes a rare gem to find for such a complex specialty in TMJ.

I feel so lucky to have Dr. Sun for my TMJ treatment. I’m a dentist and was introduced to Dr. Sun by my colleague. Not a lot of dentists including myself have extensive training in treating TMJ disease, thus it’s rare to find Dr. Sun whom properly guides jaws back to correct position to balance muscle, joint, and teeth.My TMJ/facial muscle pain has been getting progressively worst for the last 4 years. I would have to massage my face muscles throughout the day to try and relax them. Dr. Sun fabricated a day and night appliance and instantly after one night my muscles felt relieved. Dr. Sun is amazing. She literally saved me. I was suffering from chronic jaw pain, 24/7 for several months. When I came to her, she knew almost immediately what was wrong. After taking some scans, she confirmed I was having TMJ issues, and was able to recommend the proper treatment for me. One day after wearing my mouthguard, my pain was completely gone! Dr. Sun is a life saver. As a medical student, I am very busy and dont have much time for self-care. However, when I couldnt stand the pain from my wisdom teeth, Dr. Sun was kind enough to open up her schedule to see me. She was very thorough and skillful. She was able to take out both of my wisdom teeth with very minimal pain. Moreover, she didnt have to break them into little pieces to take them out! Shes not only affordable, but shes also very caring and follows up with her patients. Even though I live a little bit over an hour away, shes definitely worth the drive. She focuses on preventative care for the long-term health. I will definitely go back to see her for my yearly checkup.

Firstly, I would like to express how Dr. Sun changed my view of going to the dentist. Ever since I was a young child, I hated going to the dentist because I was always in pain after these visits. For every dentist visit, my gums would bleed, the tooth drills would give me goosebumps and give me painful headaches, and I would cry anytime the dentist would examine my teeth.Once I was introduced to Dr. Sun, my experience with dentistry changed and soon enough my dental health dramatically improved. I went to Dr. Sun for some jaw and ear pain. Come to find out I needed an infected tooth removed. She is really gentle and I have had no problems with any of my postoperative care. She really gets to the source of the problem and devises a plan to fix it as well as keeping in touch and asking for updates. I really enjoy going to her for all of my dental needs.

Having known Dr. Alice Sun had four decades of experience and service to people, I can say that she is honest and sincere and is always truthful with her patients. The truth benefited me to face my problems. From improper cleaning of my teeth to Sleep Apnea and migraine headaches she gave me very beneficial suggestions as to how to overcome these problems inexpensively. In my experience most dentists did not want to deal with natural solutions to dental problems, but rather promote tooth extraction and implants. Dr. Suns emphasis is on preserving original teeth.

The preventative care techniques that Dr. Sun uses has proven to be positively life-changing and with great results. My eldest daughter started seeing Dr. Sun since she was barely 2 years old and Dr. Sun noticed that my daughter’s jaw wasn’t growing properly and right away Dr. Sun offered non surgical treatments that has helped re-align my daughters jaws and prevented us with very expensive medical surgeries in the long run. Like my review on Yelp says...It looks like Im updating every few years. But services, people, and things can change, right?Not Dr. Sun. She even pretty much looks the same after the years. Ive moved around the state, Im still a good hour+ away up the 405 from her office, but her work is worth the trip. Dental work can be pretty intimidating, but she helps patient understand whats going on and really does treat you like a member of her own family. Dont ever retire, okay??? Thanks, Dr. Sun!

Im writing this review for the most caring and compassionate dentists Ive had the pleasure of meeting. I stumbled onto her yelp when looking for a new dentist and came into her office with lots of lower pain in my teeth, where we discovered I actually had TMJ problems. I originally went to another dentist before her, and they wanted me to do root canals. Good think I made my best judgments and eventually found Dr. Sun! She saved me from getting more problems. She texts you to make sure you are okay and checks in with you (I would tell her how often you would like her to contact you). She is very sweet and really is so passionate about helping others and the world. She has a special soul, there arent many people out there like her. She is like a godmother to me and I wouldnt want to be under the care of anyone else in regards to my TMJ. She talks you through everything to make sure you are well-informed and keeps you smiling and happy (Hence, the Sun in her name). As a future psychologist, it is my best judgment that you definitely will be in good hands with Dr. Sun whatever treatment you need.

Dr Sun is by far the best dentist i have ever had. She sticks by her word and has the highest integrity in dealing with her patients and her work.

Dr. Sun is an amazing dentist with many years of experience. She tells it how it is without using scare tactics. She has been helpful with my Mom’s sleep apnea, helping her get a custom mouth guard (which as the person who has to hear the sleep apnea I can testify it has reduced significantly). Ive also consulted her for teeth straightening, telling me I’d probably have to pull teeth and the long-term effects of it. I had no idea at the time that this was a common practice and even though I wish it wasn’t the case I’m glad she was straightforward and told me the situation - educating me - versus having me go to someone else and learn last minute that I’d have to have teeth pulled while being tied into another process. Thank you Dr. Sun. :)

After my childhood dentist retired, I went on a search for a new dentist I trusted. After seeing a few, some of whom were recommended by Neighbors and doctors, I encountered Dr. Sun. I found her to be enthusiastic about her work, something I hadn’t seen since Dr Mentas took care of my teeth.She cleaned my teeth and whitened them, too! She reviewed a care plan and signposted our next steps for that area. And of course, I left with a toothcare kit. (Remember to change out those toothbrushes every quarter!)The new facility is beautiful and airy, too.

I saw Dr. Sun for TMJ issues. I saw just her during my first appointment and starting at the second appointment she brought in another dentist (Dr. Soto) to help her out and teach her things.Appointments are extremely long. I was never there for less than 3 hours. She communicates heavily via text and wanted me to drop everything and come in right away multiple times a week. The first week I was her patient, I saw her twice, had to get x-rays at a different location on a third day, and she wanted me to come in even more.She is in network with my insurance. She claimed to my insurance that Dr. Soto was my treating dentist and she never saw me. Dr. Soto is not contracting with any insurance companies. Because of some deceptive practices (she claimed she didnt have time to check my insurance because I was a last minute appointment - even though I wasnt) they have you pay upfront so you have to send claims to your insurance. But they wont give you any paperwork to submit it without a fight.I have since seen another dentist for my TMJ and they thought that their treatment plan and devices were crazy. They had never seen any mouth guards or devices like it. They found their treatments antiquated and dangerous to my jaw alignment.
