I had a knee replacement from him 9 years ago and developed RSD. That wasn’t his fault but my knee was hot, burgundy color, swollen , incision oozing put and they did nothing . Said it was Normal. I need to have redone and never got good knee bend. I participated in therapy and did everything supposed to do. Now I need done again. Would never in my lifetime go back to this doctor. He treats patients like cattle, and I heard him brag he can do a knee replacement every 20 minutes. I will have to get done again . I had a Left replacement here in Florida and my Orthopedic Mark Rogers is the best. After 4.5 months I am dancing first time in 35 years. He also did my Lt shoulder rotator cuff . Lionberger needs to retire or have his medical license rescinded.

Dr. Lionberger is by far extraordinary an exceptional surgeon. He shows concern for his patients well-being and success before during and following surgery. The protocol he has design leads way to the best possible outcome. He performed a knee revision that turned out to be nothing short of a miracle. I am extremely happy with the outcome. From the very first visit to Dr. Lionberger we were impressed! Everyone was very nice and helpful. During and after my husband had both knees being replaced a week apart Dr. Lionberger and staff were available for any questions or concerns. Couldnt have asked for a better doctor or staff!

Dr Lionberger was very knowledgeable, Kind and thorough. James a student was very nice and I felt he had made the right conclusion also as confirmed by Dr Lionberger when he came in. It is a very well run and organized office. I was impressed.

If I could give Negative stars I would. I read the reviews and wonder where THAT doctor was, he certainly was not the Dr. I saw. I went in with left hip pain so severe, I made an appointment 3 weeks before my insurance took effect and paid out of pocket for my exam. It was a total waste of money. After xrays, Dr. Lionberger told me I did not have any arthritis or bone spurs in my hip, I just had bursitis and I didn’t need anything except to off load weight from my hip and then he prescribed some $3000 drug. After another month of extreme pain and eating enough NSAIDs to damage my liver, I made an appointment with Dr. Terry Clyburn who ran more xrays and informed me that he didn’t know what xrays Dr. Lionberger read but then showed me that my medial aspect of my hip joint was bone on bone and I had 3 bone spurs. He agreed that total hip replacement was indicated but Dr. Clyburn did not preform the anterior procedure so he had his colleague Dr. Kwan Park evaluate me right then and I have anterior hip replacement scheduled in two days. However the delay in proper diagnosis and treatment has caused me unbearable pain and liver damage that could have been avoided with a proper diagnosis by Dr. Lionberger.

I like Dr Lionberger and he operated on me before. But, I felt rushed at the appointment with him and all my questions were NOT answered. I hope to have the opportunity to ask more questions.Thanks

I had 7 day staged bi-lateral knee replacements on 10/23/18 & 10/30/18. I was pedaling a bicycle @ 15 days post-op from the second knee...yes pedaling a bicycle with full rotation! I cannot say enough about the quality and professionalism that Dr. Lionberger and his ENTIRE team have demonstrated. Even my PT group was impressed with his post-op protocols.Knee replacement isnt a walk in the park.Recovery is challenging and as a patient you HAVE TO DO THE WORK before and after to get results. Nothing of value is ever really free though right?Yes I put in the rest and exercise he prescribed and stuck to his plan but picking the right surgical team was the biggest factor of my recovery.There are so many options for this type of surgery in the Houston area but this team was absolutely the best choice for me.SHORT VERSION: This is a team of A-listers and you should at least add them to your short list.

It is not often that you come acrose staff that are happy respectful and kind to your patients and customers. Dr. Lionburger and Sarah are top notch professionals! They know exactly what theyre doing and know what theyre talking about. Theyre willing to answer all questions you have. Thanks to their professional service and abilities to discern what your problem / condition is, and their recommendation to select physical therapy and the therapist too, I have my life and mobility back to normal. Rest assured, you will have a great experience here. Their office is also very friendly and professional. I think it is seldom if anyone has a bad experience here. They even have an online patient portal so you can message either Dr. Lionburger or Sarah if you have questions! It is really convenient. The entire experience is top notch, and as so many have noted, Dr. Lionberger is not only off-the-chart smart, he is personable as well. Everyone (front desk, x-ray tech, Sarah) are very helpful. I only wish he had done my left hip replacement, as well as the knee surgeries Ive had. He will do the right one (making them the same length), and with his approach of strengthening the surrounding area, my recovery will be that much better. Dr. Lionberger is an exceptional doctor and he has given me my life back! I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 AVN in both hips due to prednisone. I could hardly walk and preform daily tasks from the excruciating pain I was in. Dr. Lionberger took a chance on me when other doctors couldn’t see beyond my age. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and kept in contact before, during and after surgery. My daughter has suffered a year and a half with horrible knee pain, and limping around. Could not walk in a shopping mall without pain, get out of the car without pain, go up steps without pain, etc. etc. She and I both sent to see Dr. Lionberger, because I too, have the same problem with one of my knees, just not as severe as hers. Dr. Lionberger did her surgery on Dec. 12th, knee replacement, and I cannot believe how WONDERFUL she is doing. She has had very little pain, walking great with a walker (not quite 1 wk. post op) and has completed her first week at physical therapy. FIVE STARS FOR DR. LIONBERGER!! He is not only an extraordinary physican and surgeon, but a deeply CARING PERSON. He is concerned from the beginning about ALL his patients, and always has the time to answer your calls and concerns. I called and was able to get an appointment very soon. Dr. Lionbergers staff was professional, courteous and very welcoming, The process ran smoothly from check in very welcoming. I received from Dr David R Lionberger in the years of 2003 and 2006 an effective Orthepedic surgical treatment fo the pain and age degeneration of both knee joints. I have enjoyed a very comfortable ambulation for 12 years. A recent X-ray of both knees on 8/6/2015 revealed a healthy replacement of both knee joints I do not hesitate to recommend Dr.Lionberger.
