Same as every other poor review... dealing with the unnecessarily rude staff is exhausting. Its not worth it in a city this size with many other great doctors who will treat you respectfully.

The doctor is great. But office staff needs to be more professional and also remember HIPAA. Not once in the conversations that I have had with this office did they ask for DOB. How do they know that the person they are so freely speaking to or about is the correct patient with out using two patient identifier? Office staff definitely needs more training.

Dr. Oishi is a very good doctor, but getting through his rude office staff is next to impossible. I called to request my records from 4 years ago and they told me in a rude manner that they don’t have them and then hung up on me. How can you not have them when you’re required to keep them for 7 years? How can they hold your records hostage? I worked in the medical field for almost 20 years, and we would have NEVER treated patients disrespectfully for asking for their medical records for continuity of care. It’s a shame you can’t get good medical care due to snotty office workers.

I’m not person complains, here i am year later back in his office from a major neck sugery in 2018. I feel like all I’m doing is spending more money. He don’t show no concern or care about my ware being. I have came in at least few times , set with him for 5mins and paid each time for what no solution. Staff don’t reach out to let you know what’s going on . I’m now going into 2020 in process of finding me a new specialist who cares. You put so much trust into someone with your health , all it seems like he just care about the money!!

Dr. Oishi placed a Spinal Cord Stimulator for me. He and his office staff are so very nice! He explained the surgery and answered all my questions. Surgery went great and his staff called and checked on me at home. The hospital was amazing, a true class act and what hospital care should be! Dr. Oishi, his staff and the hospital made this a good experience when surgery is never pleasant. I would use Dr. Oishi for any surgeries in the future and highly recommend him to anyone else!!

RUN...in the other direction! There are way too many examples of incompetence and neglect. Ive moved on with a knowledgeable and attentive surgeon. Ive wasted enough of my valuable time. Get a Dr. that respects you.

I had a herniated disk between L4-L5 and I have to say that Dr. Oishi is an AMAZING doctor. Hes a straight to the point doctor and gets things done.Hes caring, funny and an all around great doctor. Im very pleased with his procedure, but If I ever have any more problems with my back I would NOT return to his office and heres why. His office manager, Patsy is extremely rude and uncooperative. Im completely floored by her demeanor and incompetent behavior. Shes VERY unprofessional, put me on hold four times and kept interrupting me while I was trying to speak. In addition, she sighed loudly as I was trying to explain my situation to her. She was rushing our telephone conversation (it was a little past 5 Oclock) which I thought was uncaring and just plain wrong. If you plan on having back surgery by Dr. Oishi and have to apply for disability, good luck getting information to your disability insurance company that you need from his office. I am on short-term disability to cover myself for the procedure and its about to end. Because of nerve damage, I am still not able to work because I have a sharp pain in my left leg, therefore I have to file for long-term disability. Dr. Oishi told me that what Im feeling is normal, that it will heal over time. He said that it could take 6-8 weeks or longer to heal. He told me NOT to go to work until it heals all the way. I dont work in an office setting. I work for H-E-B in the deli, which means I dont sit EVER (unless im on break). Heck, Im still even taking pain medication and JUST had my staples removed only two weeks ago. I asked her to please send my information over to my disability insurance company (that was requested THREE weeks ago) so that I may apply for long-term disability, as my deadline was tomorrow August 22nd. Mind you, long-term DOES NOT mean that I need another 4 months off. Its there for me if I need an additional 2-4 weeks so my nerve can heal and I can get back to work ASAP. Instead of Patsy writing things down that I was telling her (to give to Dr. Oishi so I can extend my disability) she relentlessly argued with me. Telling me that she cant approve long term disability, and it wasnt written in my file notes. She said she has NEVER approved long term disability for ANYONE. Really Patsy? I just had freaking back surgery. I had to get a rep. from Blue Cross Blue Shield (thats who H-E-B goes through for insurance) to call her and tell her to send the info to Lincoln Financial Group. SMH What an ordeal!!! If I dont get an approval for long-term disability and lose my job at H-E-B (that I seriously love), Ill take matters into my own hands. I may not be loaded with money, but I have money for an attorney. I dont want this review to reflect on Dr. Oishi as a person or what he does. Hes a FANTASTIC doctor, hes super smart and he knows what hes doing!! I would trust him to work on my back again if need be. However, as long as he has Patsy running his office for him, I WILL NOT return to his office and thats such a shame to me. The reason I gave this review 5 stars is because Dr. Oishi deserves it, hes awesome.

I have been going to different neurologist and they all wanted me to do physical therapy. I had already done everything they recommended. I saw Dr.Oishi one time and he took action right away. Seeing him was the first time I actually found out I had two bad discs. I felt immediately comfortable going to him. DR.OISHI IS THE BEST!!

5 stars is not enough! To say Dr. Oishi is perfect is beyond an understatement! My BF had a semi truck accident, in which he was hit from behind, causing a concussion, herniated discs, and the need for carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists. Dr. Oishi has already done one shot and one wrist, and everything has gone text book! I highly recommend him for any neuro requirements you may have!
