I have been meaning to do this review since my mom passed away a bit over a year ago. And since then my experience with Hospice Plus has gotten even better. The reason is because since my mom died I got regular calls from Hospice Plus for the first 2 months just to check up on me then I got wonderful letters of support from them about every 30 days and each letter had encouraging words and also urging me to reach out to them for anything I might need to get through my moms death. Hospice Plus was highly recommended to me from the in-care company that I had to take care of my mom 24/7 and they were a blessing from day one. I am so great full they were there for me and my mom at the time I was going through a terrible ordeal.

Hi to anyone whos reading who is searching for great care for their loved ones... Please do careful research. If possible talk to a nurse that works for this company and not the person who comes into the hospital to sell you the idea of this company because the salesperson will paint this company to be this amazing opportunity for your family and sick/elderly loved ones (who are probably already so stressed about getting the help they need). So far everything that was sold to me as pros are nonexistent.1. Ambulance came to pick up my mom from the hospital got lost for over three hours and had to slow down because of traffic? Who gets lost in Houston for three hours? Fellow Houstonians, you and I both know that despite the awful traffic, you wont be stuck in traffic for more than one hour and a half inside the loop. Obviously a lie. They told me they will send for another ambulance... But that one also came hours late. That day my mom said she felt like she was about to die in the hospital and wanted to see her children one last time. There was absolutely no rush to get her home.2. I explained that physical therapy was very important to my mothers health based on what her rehab physician, and oncologists said. At first I was told that Hospice Plus does not do physical therapy. When they realized I wasnt going to go with Hospice Plus and instead another company the person lied and said that they will do physical therapy at least three times a week for my mom and up to five times a week. This was guaranteed/approved by their manager. Its been over two weeks since my mom has came back from the hospital and they have yet to send anyone out to evaluate her for physical therapy. When the nurses came and I asked about PT I was quickly shut down despite my explanation/reiteration of what her doctors said.3. Be prepared to buy your own gloves and wet wipes supplies because even though they tell you they can supply these for you they wont bring it to you until you remind them over and over again for a week.4. I was told that nurses were expected to come no more than 30 minutes. Twice I have called because of an emegency and both times I was told 45 minutes to an hour. OH MY GOD! When asked why this was different than what was told to me at first before we signed up for this hospice they just told me that realistically they cant. So why tell me 30 minutes or less as a selling point?5. Ridiculously unorganized and so stressful when taking your emergency call. I called because my mother was experiencing really strange swelling on her head and she was in pain. First call in which I initiated, I was told they would call me back. Second call was from them asking for the same information I had provided during the first call over again like this was the first they heard of it. I was told they would call me back with an estimated time... I waited... And waited... 20 minutes later nothing! I called and they said they will call me again with an estimated time... I waited for an extra 7 minutes before someone finally called me saying they will come in 45 minutes. So if you are in an emergency situation one prepared to wait over an hour for help.Awful company. A lot of the staff only wants to do the minimum. Dont expect anyone to go above and beyond because youll surely be disappointed. They wont because having satisfied patients is not a good incentive for them.

The nurse Gail was rude, condescending, and argumentative. We ended up dismissing the company immediately due to this nurses unprofessional behavior and bad attitude.

They were amazing with my grandmother! From the moment we found out she was having trouble swallowing until the day she passed. Her nurses and cargivers and chaplin went above and beyond. They to this day are still like pieces of extended family.
