Ariel came to our home for our first visit within the first week of our baby girl’s arrival and was very helpful and informative with what was working and what needed adjustments. Erica was an incredible calming and grounding presence for me as I prepare prenatally to breastfeed. She was extremely thorough, patiently listened as I talked her ear off about my complicated history with breastfeeding, and was very gentle and comforting with her exam/assessment of my anatomy. She was welcoming and sweet with my toddler so I could feel completely at ease the whole visit. She left me feeling extremely supported and empowered that I am ready and able to get breastfeeding off to a healthy start. I look forward to seeing her again when baby is born. I had a great experience with my lactation consultant Erica. She helped me to deepen my baby’s latch and also gave me tips and exercises to do for his mouth. I would definitely recommend this company! They have an amazing grant program that helps make the services more affordable to reach more families in need. They are also available anytime if you have any questions. If there are any moms out there in need of breastfeeding assistance, I’d definitely make an appointment!

I learned so much with Nicole. She was very gentle with my newborn, understanding, listened, helped make feeding better for my newborn. She gave so many helpful tips, and recommendations. She was so great! I truly enjoyed learning from her.

I, perhaps Naively, didn’t plan to have problems with breastfeeding and so didn’t have any apts set up with a lactation consultant when we got back from the hospital. When I contact BCB, there were not a lot of apts available, but when they heard my story they shifted things and tried to get me in ASAP. I am so grateful for that sense of urgency they had for my breastfeeding journey. Mary is so kind and caring and has approached my low-supply challenge with a lot of data and science that will help. She is also very attuned to stress and keeping a plan flexible and manageable for mom. We’ve really enjoyed working with her. She is very responsive and easily accessible by text, helping me with on-the-fly questions. In addition, when you work with Bayou City Breastfeeding, you’re actually getting access to multiple lactation experts as they all consult with each other for different solutions for their clients. This gives you a whole pool of knowledge and experience to work in your favor for results.

I was referred by another mama who had a great experience with Bayou Breast Feeding and I’m so glad they did! Tiphany was extremely helpful and non-judgmental. She led me on to the fact that my daughter has a tongue tie and gave me so many options to fix it. Nicole was prompt at today’s consultation. She was friendly and made me feel very comfortable discussing the issues I was facing. She was able to answer all my questions and gave excellent advise and showed me how to get my baby to latch and different ways to hold her while feeding. She also went over with me how to use the breast pump more efficiently and I already see much improvement. I look forward to our follow up consultation next week.

Visited with my daughter about 2 weeks after she was born. Setting the appointment was easy as they would just text my phone which was best for me with a newborn. I was so happy that I went. I left feeling reassured that my baby was getting enough to eat and my production was adequate and coming along. I felt totally comfortable and at home with the consultant even though I am a pretty modest person. She was very kind and reassuring and gentle with my baby. She gave me some great advice, taught me some great exercises I could help my baby practice and gave me some great referrals to have a lip and tongue tie evaluated. I will probably set up a follow up consult here soon now that the lip and tongue tie have been evaluated to make sure my babies latch is the best latch.

Tiphany was amazing. She listened to my concerns, and was certain to address each one, including my skepticism about using bodywork to help address tongue and lips tie issues. Her instructions really helped the pain issues I was having and I believe following her advice about the ties also made a difference. I cant recommend her enough. I also think its really great how they take insurance! We met at her office for one visit and she came to my home for another, demonstrating flexibility to meet a mothers needs.

Bayou City saved my breastfeeding journey. I successfully breastfed my son with little to no problems. So when I had my daughter and was struggling with breastfeeding her I was frustrated to the point of giving up. My friend mentioned Bayou City Breastfeeding and so I made an appointment. At that appointment Suzanne mentioned that we may be dealing with a tongue tie and suggested I see someone to have it revised. Suzanne taught me the exercises to help my daughter heal and checked her wound site frequently to make sure she was healing appropriately. Suzanne was with me every step of the way and available to answer any questions I had. We are now feeding much better and spitting up less. My daughter is so much happier and so am I!

My initial consultation was amazing! Nicole listened to all my concerns and issues weve been having then gave tips on how we could begin fixing them. She demonstrated exercises and made sure she explained everything we discussed in detail. I feel like baby and I are in great hands and on our way to a healthy breastfeeding journey.

I had my daughter at 32 weeks. My daughter wasn’t able to breastfeed on her own so, I decided to call in a lactation. Suzanne was sooo helpful! She quickly identified the issue (lip/tongue tie). In the meantime I got support, advice and tips on how to helo her feed until she got her toes corrected.Once my daughter got her 2 month vaccines she was able to get it checked out by her dentist and got it fixed. I continued going to Suzanne until we graduated! 6 months later, and my daughter is now a pro!*One more thing, I got so much help for when I went back to work as far as how long, and how often I should pump. Suzanne also went out her way to fight for my pumping rights during work hours.

I worked with Nicole and Bayou City Breastfeeding and absolutely loved the experience! It was always easy to set up an appointment, comfortable during the appointment (even in the trying times of Coronavirus) and I always learned so much. As a mother of two I wish I had used Bayou City Breastfeeding with my first kiddo. The knowledge I gained has made my breastfeeding journey so much more enjoyable and less confusing this time around. I highly recommend this practice and Nicole as well, they truly care and will take great care of you!

I contacted Bayou City Breastfeeding out of desperation after suffering weeks of painful breastfeeding with my second child. With my first baby (breastfed for 14 months) I had no issues breastfeeding so I thought it would be the same the second time around. Nope! From the second day after my son was born I was having serious issues with nursing and I was not enjoying breastfeeding at all. The nurses in the hospital kept telling me I was a new mom and things would get better. Because of this I waited before getting help with a lactation consultant. During this time my son had reflux, gas, milk was spilling out the sides of his mouth with every feeding, and I was using a nipple shield at every feeding because of pain. Also, the nursing sessions took FOREVER (45+ minutes). A friend suggested I see Tessa, an IBCLC at Bayou City Breastfeeding, because of all the issues. Tessa came to my house and diagnosed my son with a tongue tie almost instantly. I remember tearing up after she left because I finally had answers. None of the other nurses or lactation consultants in the hospital even mentioned it could potentially be a tongue tie even after all the pain I was in. Tessa took her time with me and was very patient with all the questions I had (and I had a lot). Her exam of the baby was very thorough and she explained everything in a way I could understand. She gave me recommendations on who to see for my son’s tongue tie and gave me exercises to do with him to help with breastfeeding. Honestly if it wasn’t for Tessa there is no way I would have continued breastfeeding. I was literally on the verge of quitting. With her help I was able to continue breastfeeding for 15 months and my baby boy is thriving.

Suzanne was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about helping me work through my lactation challenges with my older infant. Also very helpful for busy mamas - she was willing to continue answering questions via text months later, and served as my lactation reference throughout my breastfeeding journey. Baby is 20 months and we’re still going!

We love our IBCLC, Tiphany, at Bayou City Breastfeeding! She is incredibly knowledgeable and has gone above and beyond to help us troubleshoot feeding issues we have encountered. I will be reaching out to them for any/all future children, and I have already told all of my friends they need to work with them (even the ones who aren’t pregnant yet)!

Bayou City Breastfeeding is great. They started helping me over the phone right the way when I called to inquire and schedule the appointment and any time I have a random question I can text them and they reply on the same day. The insurance covers the visit, which is a plus. I chose the home visit and for that I just have to pay the trip charge. They were a life saver and I don’t know if I would have been successful at breastfeeding if it wasn’t for their help. Nicole is amazing and helped me not only with the techniques but also with the whole concept of breastfeeding, bonding and being emotionally well. I absolutely love them and recommend them to all of my friends!!!

Suzanne is an angel on earth. She isn’t just an IBCLC, she’s family.My little one and I came to her after a botched surgery with nothing but problems. I also suffer from some mood disorders. I’ll never forget Suzanne telling me I needed to take care of myself so I could take care of my little. I had gone off my medication because I didn’t want it to affect her. Turns out that decision was negatively affecting me.Then my little needed to have surgery again. Suzanne came with us and supported me the whole time. She checked on us multiple times. She made sure D was okay.Suzanne referred us to an amazing body worker who then helped all of Ds body issues.She’s even helped my mom with a ton of health issues.Just all around Suzanne is my hero. Our breastfeeding journey didn’t go at all like I had planned and it ended earlier than I wanted but Suzanne continues to be an amazing pillar of support. She showed me that it’s important to have a village. It’s important to have someone with so much knowledge cheering you on! And when it doesn’t go as planned, letting you know that you’re an amazing mom and it’s okay. 💗

Suzanne has played a key role in the success of my breastfeeding journey. We have seen her for about 6 months now. The 1st time we saw her my baby was lethargic and not eating, she was 3 days old. I had sent a message to Bayou City Breastfeeding and received a response within hours. After speaking with Suzanne on the phone she gave suggestions that immediately helped my baby until we could be seen by her. Suzanne came to our house on Easter Sunday to help get my baby eating. Within a day my baby had gained .5 oz at her 1st pediatrician appointment. Suzanne recommended at that point for us to have the babies tongue clipped for major oral restrictions. At the time my husband and I weren’t ready to put our newborn through that. She gave us oral exercises to do with our baby in the meantime.Fast forward to 3 months my baby refused to latch once again. I scheduled an appointment to see Suzanne at the Kingwood clinic. We learned that my baby had figured out how to accommodate for her oral restrictions, but had had a recent growth spurt and the accommodations and exercises were no longer working. She explained in detail some of the things (I thought were normal) my daughter was experiencing were in fact not so normal and were actually causing pain and discomfort. At that point we revisited the frenotomy and scheduled it with Dr.Liu, a pediatric ENT Bayou City recommends. Suzanne explained the procedure and gave us the recovery booklet to begin to start working on exercises with our baby and prepare her for the procedure.After the procedure we saw Suzanne multiple times for all of our baby’s post procedure appointments and she helped with the recovery. She got our breastfeeding journey back on track. My baby has gone from refusal to latch to nursing full time on the weekends with no issues.The wealth of knowledge that Suzanne provides is so unbelievably helpful and priceless for a first time mom who is beginning to navigate motherhood. She has been constant support and cheerleader to keep going even though it’s tough! I can’t say enough how much help Bayou City Breastfeeding has been!

Superb care from Bayou City Breastfeeding!

Suzanne at Bayou City Breastfeeding was such a huge help! My daughter and I struggled with breastfeeding, and I didnt know the first thing about pumping! Suzanne found out that my daughter had slight lip and tongue ties and showed us a few positions (one that I had never even heard of!) that actually worked for us! She gave us exercises to help my daughter with her latching (not to mention introducing me to baby squats- a great way to calm down my fussy daughter!). She also helped me realize that number of pumps a day (and NOT the duration...boy was she surprised when I confessed I regularly pumped for an hour!) was the most important thing for establishing a supply. I struggled with an under supply and had to supplement with formula for the first 2 months. Suzanne never once made me feel bad about supplementing with formula, or deciding that pumping worked better for us than strictly breastfeeding. Now I am proud to say I have a freezer stash that could last my daughter 3 weeks! Thank you so much Suzanne- we truly would not be where we are today without your guidance!

I had a very difficult experience with my little guys latch along with yeast and thrush that was making me want to give up. If it wasn’t for Suzanne I would not be having the perfect latch and no pain feeds I am now experiencing. After a tongue and lip tie procedure and a very detailed plan my little man is a pro. She is very knowledgeable and patient along with being very passionate and caring. I just wish I had known about her with my first child.

Was easy to schedule with Bayou City Breastfeeding after calling them and they quickly confirmed insurance coverage. I met with Anne for a few visits. Some of her advice/tips were great and others good but not realistic for me or the way Id want to nurse. But thats ok, I took the advice I felt to work for me. She was so nice to return my calls and be a support a few times when I had a difficult time at home with the nursing. Facility is nice and they have a good weight machine for the newborn.

Tessa was a huge help when my newborn had a slow start breastfeeding. Definitely recommend!

I am a first time mom with no family in town and working with Nicole to help my 3.5 week early baby breastfeed was nothing short of a miracle in my eyes. In the hospital the consultants seemed to blame my sons lack of ability to breastfeed on his prematurity and their tactics didn’t help my situation so I went outside the hospital resources and found Bayou City Breastfeeding. Scheduling was super easy. I learned new techniques and Nicole was very patient and understanding of all my questions. We ending up needing a tongue and lip tie procedure, but after 2 months we were exclusively breastfeeding which was my choice. I can say without Nicole’s help I would have given up breastfeeding earlier than I wanted. It required work and Nicole supported my journey.

Suzanne is an amazing lactation consultant. She has helped guide me with both of my babies. She’s very knowledgeable about all things breastfeeding. She is kind and understanding. She helped build my confidence in my journey and ensured that I would get on track. Both of my babies were tongue and lip tied which hindered their ability to empty the breast. With my first it was undiagnosed for six months and I battled with nipple pain and supply issues as well as low weight gain for my baby. I found Suzanne and an ENT that revised the ties and helped get my daughter back where she needed to be. We continued nursing until she was 16 months. My second came and I knew a little more so I immediately knew she was also tied. Suzanne helped by confirming and advising me what steps to take to protect my supply until there was an opening to get her ties revised. It was a hard few weeks but my supply was good and my second was gaining weight. Suzanne always answered every question and encouraged me through the hard few weeks of nursing, pumping and syringe/bottle feeding. After the revision she really starting putting on the pounds and is doing fantastic. I’m so very thankful that Suzanne helped save both of my nursing journeys. I’ve seen other lactation consultants and she, by far is the most knowledgeable of them all. She is passionate and emphatic and willing to do whatever it takes to help a mother successfully breastfeed her baby.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Suzanne at Bayou City Breastfeeding. As a mother who successfully breastfed her first child 18 months, I thought I knew everything I needed to for my second......boy was I wrong! We were blessed to find Suzanne who was prompt, courteous and caring. She figured out some tough problems and pointed me in the direction of professionals that could help us out with a more natural approach to tongue tie issues and even a dietician to help with a restricted diet. She was always available to help and went above and beyond to ensure baby and I were both thriving. You really can’t go wrong with Suzanne!

Nicole with Bayou City Breastfeeding provided much needed support to me as a new mom. They facilitated verifying my insurance benefits (BCBS PPO) which did provide coverage for the lactation apts. They billed the cost directly to my insurance which was a big timesaver. I opted to have the consults at my home, so I did have to pay a travel fee, but well worth the convenience with a new baby. The first apt was very thorough, over 2 hours long in which she took a detailed medical history and listened to my concerns. She provided me with a variety of tools and tips to try, with lots of kindness and encouragement. At follow up visits we reviewed different positions, best latch techniques, and a plan for pumping when I returned to work. After each visit I received a detailed email with plan and resources. For any moms with breastfeeding concerns I highly recommend Nicole! With her help my baby was able to drop formula supplementation and is back on 100% breast milk.
