I had carpal tunnel on my right hand for over 2 years causing a possible nerve damage but was afraid to do the surgery. 3 hand surgeons and 2 nerve conduction tests later, I finally decided to go with doctor Khorsandi. He made the whole process so easy and so pain free that I wish I had met him 2 years ago. A month later the pain is gone, scars are gone and hope the nerve to recover fully. I will recommend him and his clinic to all procrastinators like me and my family and friends.

Dr. Mark Khorsandi is absolutely the best of the best. In 2004 at the age of 37 I started having pain in my non-dominant right hand/thumb. I lived in WI at the time, visited a hand specialist and he said I probably had the start of arthritis. He fashioned me a custom splint that immobilize my thumb and sent me on my way. The years go by and I start feeling pain in my left hand and thumb. It’s 2007 and I’m living in Texas. I find a specialist in Athens because the pain in my right hand is significant. I receive Cortizone shots for the next 3+ years, until he tells me I can’t continue due to the long term risks to my tendons. So I find a surgeon in Tyler. He recommends removing three bones in my R hand to allow space between the remaining bones, adding hardware to stabilize. I trusted him and went forward. When I woke up from surgery the first thing I felt was the same pain in my thumb. Doc said pain would dissipate over the next few weeks as I healed, but that never happened. I was scheduled for him to repeat the same surgery on my left hand, I canceled and never returned.I ordered two thumb immobilizers online from Germany and I wore them every waking hour for the next few years. When it got to the point where it hurt to hold my daughter’s and my husband’s hand, when I couldn’t pick up our little dog or open a jar or turn a door knob or zip my pants, I started to look for a new hand specialist. My husband and I are both very thorough when we research, almost to a fault, so I searched for weeks before I narrowed my search Down to one doctor.Dr. Mark Khorsandi. I actually almost went with Dr. Lopez, just because our names match, but my research steered me toward Dr. Khorsandi for my specific issues.I made an appointment and drove almost 2 hours for my little town to meet him. His office is bright & beautiful, his staff is welcoming & helpful, Dr. Khorsandi is warm, personable, knowledgeable honest and very current with what was happening within his field. After fresh x-rays, comparison of my past x-rays, further examination and testing, he diagnosed carpal tunnel and bone-on-bone thumb arthritis in both hands. He let me know the bone removal done in Tyler was completely unnecessary and he was glad I canceled the procedure on my left hand. We agreed I had exhausted Cortizone as a temporary remedy and my best chance for relief was surgery.I scheduled it.I had zero reservations or anxiety because I completely understood with Dr. Khorsandi was going to do and what the result would be. We decided the first surgery would be on my right hand since that was my worst pain. When I woke up I felt no pain in my thumb. Despite having just been under the knife I immediately recognized a difference. I healed quickly and the result was miraculous. My thumb pain was relieved.I scheduled my second surgery. On my untouched dominant left hand.I’d be a liar if I didn’t say I was a little bit nervous even though the surgery performed by Dr. Khorsandi on my right hand was literally flawless. But I do everything with my left hand.My nervousness was unfounded and my second surgery was as perfect as my first. To overview, Dr. Khorsandi did a carpal tunnel release on both hands, and used a tendon from each of my wrists coupled with cadaver tissue to cushion the arthritis at the base of my thumbs.Dr. Khorsandi IS the best. I say that without hesitation and with absolute certainty. If you have hand pain don’t wait another moment. Call Hand Surgery Specialists of Texas, make an appointment and let Dr. Khorsandi give you the relief you need & deserve.

Dr. Khorsandi is amazing. Several years ago, my husband was told by a notable hand surgeon that there was nothing that would fix his hand that was crushed at work. Feeling defeated but hoping for a miracle, we decided to look at hand specialists and landed on Dr. K. We are so glad we did!! My husband went in with no feeling in his hand, Dr. K fixed it. My husband couldnt make a fist, Dr K fixed it. He has had several more surgeries on his mobility and it continues to get better! If you are looking for a doctor who genuinely cares, doesnt see you as just another person, and who will actually fix your hand, you need to go to him. He listens, he gives advice, and he doesnt care if you are on workers comp. He has never once mentioned having to deal with them unless its to send paperwork over. We really couldnt have picked a better doctor. My husband is on his 8th surgery and everytime we go in we know everything will be okay because its Dr. K working on him. Thank you so much for all you do and thank you for giving my husband hope again!

This is the coolest doctor youll ever meet. He has a great staff. I had 4 surgeries to repair carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel. I dont even know what that 2nd one is but I know I feel better than I have in years. After a couple of month Im back to riding my bike and working on race cars wothout the pain and numbness I had been dealing with for so long. I forgot how much I missed the use of fully functioning hands. Dont live in pain and miss out on doing what you want because of hand issues. Go see doctor K . Hell fix you up.
