I had a very positive experience today with my eye exam, and contact fitting. Dr. Kokel, OD was patient and kind. She explained everything thoroughly, and was very engaging. The technician who got me ready for my doctor, was equally kind and attentive. The staff was pleasant and a delight to work with, and provided me excellent customer service.

Great atmosphere. I always enjoy at looking at the picture of Houston on the wall. The staff if very friendly and helpful and the doctors I have seen since I started going to Berkeley are great and good at explaining the procedures and what is going on with my eyes.

I cant say enough about the staff, care and treatment Ive received at Berkeley Eye Center at the Park Shops. Dr. Nikki Kokel is extremely personable and patient with me. I wanted to be fitted with contacts and didnt have a good experience with another doctor/facility. Dr. Kokel has been helping me navigate finding the right pair for my prescription. I work downtown, but Dr. Kokel also practices in the Pearland location. Shes worth the extra effort to see.

Thorough eye examinations, staff is friendly and covid19 safe. No longer will I go to department stores (target, Walmart, etc) for service as they will quickly get you in and out.Thorough Eye Examination!!I really felt like a person, not just $$ at Berkeley Eye Center Downtown Shops. My appointment was two days after my call.Dr. Nikki was the best, she talked me through each procedure, explained eye vessels and answered questions that I may had without feeling hurried which was very insightful (pun intended). Dr. Groff, provided me with horrible service !!!. She was not able to fit me with the appropriate contacts on the first try (which I told her would be the case when I walked in the door). After a few weeks and a few contact trials she decided she was done with me. She wasn’t even professional enough to tell me directly. Corporate office contacted me to tell me, only after I never received my next set of trails, that I waited 2 weeks for only to call the office and hear “ we don’t have anything for you nor is there on order”. After hearing this obviously I was upset and was told Dr. Groff would contact me after her patient. Apparently she knew she dropped the ball and instead had corporate bail her out by calling me instead. Which they did and I appreciate the compensation but Dr. Geoff needs to be held accountable for her poor service and people need to know who they are dealing with.

Cierra and Sam we’re so helpful and knowledgeable about their practices. I was able to find a pair of glasses that fit just right and was able to place the order within minutes!

Berkeley Eye center granted me a seamless experience. At both of my visits (Contact Fitting and Prescription check) Mrs. Victoria was very kind, prompt, and always ensuring to explain the processes. I never felt rushed during check in or during my examination.My appointment with Dr. Kockel and Dr. Hollis both started on time without delay. The staff being on time for a provided service is very important to me an a client. Every staff member at this location completed their due diligence in ensuring I received the care I needed in a quick fashion. They requested my permission and explained each process for the testing and fitting prior to completing the service.All of the examination machines were wiped down in front of me and the technology was up to date. I was able to address all my issues and concerns knowing I would receive a resolution for my prescription fitting.To top it all off, Mrs. Victoria offered me a free pair of glasses for purchasing a years worth of contact lenses. Getting fitted and searching for glasses is always a time consuming task, but Mr. John assisted me within 20 minutes and had me out the door.Great job team.

Very convenient location, for someone that works downtown and I easily connected through the tunnels - no additional driving or parking required. The staff were friendly and the doctors assistant was very professional, listened to my concerns, and I could tell she enjoyed her profession. For a downtown resident it is really nice to have a trust worthy and accommodating optometrist within walking distance of my home. Twice in the past six months I have had urgent optical needs and they were able to fit me into their schedules. The staff are nice enough to laugh at my jokes even when I am keeping them late! Seriously though, Id probably be blind without Berkeley Eye Centers flexibility.

They are the sweetest, most professional group of people. Every doctor Ive seen has been extremely thorough and I always feel taken care of when I leave. My first visit here I called to make an appointment and was scheduled for my exam that same day, two hours later! The receptionist I spoke with, Victoria, was patient and kind while trying to sort out my insurance AND when I needed directions. I saw Dr. Kokel and she was awesome! Dr. Hollas and his staff were all extremely personable, friendly, and efficient. Everyone took the time to explain everything to me and truly seemed to care about all my concerns, and didnt just want to rush on to the next patient. I chose this location for convenience, considering I work downtown, but I am so impressed that I will continue to come here regardless of where I work in the future.One of the things I hate doing most is filling out paper forms at Dr. offices, I was able to fill out all my paperwork from their website and turn it in once I arrived. Two electronic signatures later, and I was ready for my appointment!

My mother selected the Downtown Shops location because she needed to see an eye doctor right away.You see she fell working on her yard; (she is 90 yrs old) and her eye was very red and the side of her face was bruised. She called her MD and they could not see her for a month! go figure. Berkley saw her the next day; Dr Hollas was very thorough; mother commented she liked this office better ; the assistant is very kind. The staff will be working with her due to her fixed income and insurance benefits to get a new set of lenses Overall their attention to my mom was of concern and tenderness. I highly recommend this location. The staff rates # 1 for us.

This was my first visit to this location, and I was very pleased with my experience. Dr. Alvin was very thorough and she made me feel at ease with the experience. I was there because I had been having some eye pain, and Dr. Alvin made certain she covered all of the avenues to exclude any serious issues. I was impressed with the state-of-the-art equipment and having the option to have my eyes dilated or pay an extra $39.99 for pictures of my eyes instead. I opted for the pictures because I needed to go back to work after my appointment. The extra payment was well worth the money!

This was easily the best experience Ive had at an optometry clinic. From the moment I entered until the moment I left, the staff were pleasant, accommodating, and super professional. I have been a patient a this facility for about 7 years now... and counting! Staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. Dr. Hollas is awesome and always ready to answer any questions I may have (no matter how silly they sound). He is very easy-going, great attitude, positive personality, and gives thorough eye exams. One big plus for me has always been the total amount of time I spend during my visits, which is typically one hour or less (this includes check-in and check-out times). Being that I work nearby, I always make my appointments during my lunch break... no need to take some extra time off from work. Overall, I love this place and my experience is always a positive one! I had a very wonderful experience at Berkeley Eye Center. This was my first time going to a Berkeley Eye Center. I was extremely satisfied with my visit. A few things that set Berkeley Eye Center in The Shops apart from all other optometrists: 1. They have the most innovated and up-to-date technology, including a machine that allows you to skip the awful dilation process. Since I go back to work after my appointments, this was a really great for me! 2. Dr. Hollas was wonderful! Since I was diagnosed with astigmatism when I was 12, I have had doctors explain the condition to me, but I have never had a doctor show me, using the pictures of my very own eye. In addition, he showed my the pictures of the back of my eye and explained to me what each dark spot, shadow, and lines mean. It was truly a wonderful experience, and another reason I will be going back to Berkeley Eye Center. 3. The location is so convenient. Since I work in downtown Houston, it was so easy getting to the office. It took me less that 10 minutes to WALK to the office. 4. The office staff might be the nicest I have ever encountered. This is extremely important to me because I have stopped visiting doctors because the staff was not friendly to me. The fact that the staff was so welcoming and pleasant is another reason I will be going back to Berkeley Eye Center in The Shops. I will definitely be making my eye appointments here from now on.

I originally came to Berkeley Eye Center at The Shops Downtown because of the convenience of its location from my office, but now I wouldnt go anywhere else! They work with your schedule when making your appointments and Ive never had to wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room before my exam. The ladies at the front are super friendly, and Dr. Hollas always takes his time to talk with me and make sure my contacts/glasses are still working how they need to. (and of course the location is still a huge plus!)

Ive been going to Berkeley Eye Center in The Shops Downtown for several years now and have always been pleased with their services. Dr. Hollas is great; thorough and always makes sure that all of my questions and concerns are addressed. Glasses and contact fitting are a breeze and orders come in quickly as promised. The location is convenient and its great to be able to grab lunch/ breakfast before or after my appointment in the shops, as well as do other shopping.

Took my 16 year old and 6 year old daughters for their yearly exams. It was my 6 year old daughters FIRST eye exam. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. The individual who did the refraction test was wonderful with both girls, especially with the six year old. The eye exams were thorough, and the doctor was excellent. I would highly recommend the Berkeley Eye Center at The Shops Downtown.

The staff there is one of the nicest group I had ever encountered. I arrived for my appointment a little early and was checked in as soon as I got there I was out of there within 35 to 45 minutes, considering I had my eyes dilated and I had to pick out some new eye glasses. Came here at 1pm after lunch. Stood at the counter for a minute wanting to make an appointment for eye exam and ask about my insurance plan for lens. All three ladies looked around but totally avoided eye contact and pretend I didn’t exist. Not a greeting or ask me to wait for service. I even thought I was invisible. I then looked around and needless to say the frames were not impressive. I googled at the store and found other vision stores nearby and walked away still thinking I was invisible.

Have been a patient with this eye center for nearly 5 years and not once have I had any problems with this location. The staff greets you with a smile, they are very detailed in explaining the paperwork when signing in. Dr. Hollas staff is very professional and I enjoy each visit, we have never had to wait to long to be seen. Also this is very convenient for me and my husband, because we work downtown and the walk to this office is great. I would recommend anyone who works downtown to drop in and visit for a moment and meet the wonderful staff.

Convenient. Professional. Fast.I like that they are located in The Shops. Its easy to get to since I work in downtown. I was able to get a appointment with Dr. Hollas during my lunch break. He was able to answer all my questions, and get me in and out in one hour. I appreciate that very much!I was a little disappointed that I put in my contact order on a Thursday, they told me that it would be ready by Monday or Tuesday of the following week and that I will receive a call that it has arrived. The next Thursday comes around and I hear no call, so I decided to give them a call to check on status. Miraculously, my contacts are in and are ready for pick up. No big deal, but Id like it if they follow through with what they told me.

Great Optometrist. They are very thorough and example all options. They will let you know what test are covered by your issuance and which are optional. They are not pushy at all trying to sell you something you dont need. The entire staff was very friendly.

I met with Nikki Kokel, and she was the first doctor in a long time to give me an alternative contact lens for my dry eyes. The whole staff seemed to really care about my eye health and comfort. Very friendly and conveniently located for me.
