I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rhodes at Summerwood Smiles for almost a decade and during each visit, the staff has been amazing! I always understand the services to be provided and also feel comfortable during them. So glad I chose them when I relocated to the area!

Dr. Ward was professional and easy to talk to. The hygienist, Marian, was wonderful.

This office is SLOW, INCONVENIENT, and NO ONE THERE has a shred of intelligence.They also try to keep parents from going back with their children. I was being told that I couldnt go back with my 8 year old....of course I did anyway. I told them, if I dont go with my MINOR, she doesnt go back either!! What kind of Jeffrey Epstein operation are they running here??Appointments are a struggle to set.Do yourself a favor and go to a different dental office. Youre welcome.

I’m on the verge of crying malpractice for this place. I went in with a toothache and Dr. Rhodes told me TWO of my teeth couldn’t be saved; I was going to need extractions and false teeth.I pleaded for other options, but she straight-up told me there wasn’t enough of either tooth to be saved. I was horrified at the diagnosis and it definitely didn’t sit well with me, so I went to another dentist for a second opinion and had BOTH teeth saved with one root canal and one crown. Absolutely NO need for either tooth to be pulled.If you value your natural teeth, please don’t go here.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The waiting area is nice and inviting. I never felt rushed. The x-rays took a lot longer than at other places but they did more of them and they were digital. Overall it was a good experience and I will be going to them regularly. Only downside is there is a lot of waiting in-between. The initial exam, x-rays and cleaning took 2 hours.

I wasted a day at this office during my regular work hours and lost pay. A week prior to my visit I had some fillings done at another dental office and the work they did was absolutely terrible. I had a misaligned bite and was in excruciating pain for 3 days until I was finally able to schedule with Summerwood. The pain was unbearable starting from my lower jaw up to my temple and it was causing massive headaches. All i needed was a simple bite alignment.. I trusted Summerwood Dental to help me but instead, the doctor basically told me I wasn’t worth his time and I needed to have the other dentist fix my problem. I felt like a burden and absolutely ashamed and worthless that my health wasn’t important to him. So i waited another 4 days until I was able to see the dentist who did my fillings. Summerwood you lost my business!

This is my favorite dentist office. When I was younger, I missed countless appointments to the dentist and never took my oral hygiene seriously. Coming to this office for the first time last year was truly an experience. The benefit coordinators are awesome & very timely. I always ask them to print out what each dental procedure would cost with and without insurance. They have helped me tremendously numerous of times. Dr. Rhodes is the best dentist I could’ve asked for. She is super patient and understanding. She gets down to the honest truth about what procedures I need and does them efficiently. There has even been times where she has stayed over to work on my teeth. This office is super caring about their patients. You may experience a bit of a wait time, but it’s because they truly care about their patients and want each one to have a great experience here. Awesome customer service! 5 stars 🙌🏾

I came to this place to get a filler for my tooth. When I scheduled my appointment I had such a great scheduling and welcoming that I for sure I thought I found the right dental place got me. Once they took me to the back they started taking X-rays on my mouth not once was anything discussed about price. Next the Dentist walked in for roughly 5 minutes and said I need a cap tooth. Someone will come and explain the pricing. The lady came in their with a sheet that only explained two options and of course the recommended one is over $1800. If I requested a filler on a tooth I should receive a filler on my tooth. A recommendation is the only thing that I should have received but instead I felt like that backed me up in a corner to pay a significantly large amount instead of giving me what I asked for. I will never return to this location and I was referred but after my experience they won’t be going here neither. After all that I still received a bill for the X-Rays that were taken without any understanding of what we were doing. This place is fraud and they try to conn you and your insurance to pay extremely high prices for their own capital gain. I’m new to the area and I would not waist your time here!

I really love this place! It is a very clean facility. The manager, Marina greeted me with a smile and took the time to answer all my questions. She made sure I understood everything from billing and they have so many options to make your payments comfortable for you. Dr. Ward is amazing! He sat with me and listen to what I have to say about my teeth and where I wanted to start. He walk me thru the procederé and what were my priorities and his opinión. At the end He knew it was my choice and made me feel importante and value. The Hygienst, Maria is Wonderful! She took her rime and explain step by steps the before and after. I am sooo please with the treatment I got here. I would give them more stars if this app. Would let me.😊.I will be back and my whole family will be coming here as well.Love you guys, you are rock from front to back office!

So I go for the first time on Friday August 14, 2020. Was so excited to be close to my house, everyone was nice. The experience was wonderful. I let them know I was coming back and would others about the clinic. Well my extraction wasnt healing, so I call the office because I needed to come in for emergency today. My right side of my face was killing me. I believed to have what you call a dry socket. That worse than an toothache. The dentist wanted me to come back tomorrow, on her off day but wanted me to call off from my job. Now what I dont understand is the dentist is off Wednesday but was going to come in the office on her off day to treat me but today Im already here at the office. She walk out her office didnt say a word to me, but come back tomorrow. Dr. Lawanda Rhodes is so unprofessional. Her staff told me she dont take walk-ins but on the website it said differently. They told me that the pills that she given me for pain wasnt going to help. That she was going to insert some medication to the site, but that wont happen until she could see me. I tell anyone make sure you read up on medical places before pick them for insurance purposes. Will be the last time I ever go there. Guess i have to be in pain all night. Dentist to busy for her patient. Wow!!

Not for me because they do not respect your time. They run like a free clinic with their time.Great people and they can fix your teeth, but if I spend my money its going to be at a dentist office that can see me in and out at a respectful time.3 hours for a lateral cap. And they moved my time earlier knowing they were short staffed. I did not feel like I was a priority. The front desk told me, point blank period, you cant expect to be seen at your appointment time. Then why schedule that?

All my life I have been terrorized of going to the dentist office. Literally since I was a child. But I must say, Summerwood Smiles is the first dental office that I felt extremely comfortable throughout the visit. Dr. Kirk Ward is my go to dentist and he’s so careful and explains everything in detail before starting the procedure. The entire staff is soooo nice and extremely welcoming. I can finally say that I’m confident going to the dentist regularly thanks to Dr. Ward. Please book your appointment with him you won’t regret it!

My biggest fear going into the dentist office is being judged on how bad my teeth are/were. I had came to this place a couple years ago (maybe 7yrs I think) know I needed work done and did nothing about it. Then I had gone back in 2018 Dr. Said I really need to get work done, still nothing. I finally took the steps (2020) necessary to keep my teeth and gums healthy. People who have known me and have gotten to know me know that my smile is everything to me and one of my favorite features that I love about myself. So I really recommend this place. Very clean and friendly staff. The ladies in the front know you by name and always greet you when you walk in. Dr. Rhodes is AMAZING! And I dont have that fear anymore of being judged and I am completely comfortable walking into the dentist office because they make you feel comfortable. Im a veteran and sustained a dental injury during my deployment to Iraq. I have a dental prosthetic- which I will have for the rest of my life. All I needed was for them to affirm that I have a prosthetic (via X-rays.) Instead they required me to have a full dental exam; between the wait and the exams I was there for hours. In the end, they didnt complete the VA paperwork properly and refused to amend it. Ultimately I was told that I should go back to the dentist that treated the original injury (which is of course impossible.)Its completely unrealistic that they expect me to track down the medic from Iraq.In my opinion, the honest and ethical thing would have been to inform me first that they since they didnt install the initial prosthetic they could not complete the form properly. Instead they wasted my time (and no doubt billed my insurance company for a significant sum) before informing me of their inability.Of course - this all followed their errant assessment of my insurance benefits on a previous visit (which required my insurance company to intervene before I was grossly over billed.) For that same procedure - they set-up an auto draft on my bank account and failed to suspend it once payments were complete. They did refund me once I caught the error but the refund took nearly a month.NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS DENTIST!!

Poor experience I cancel services they continue to remove money from my account. Two months still hve not recieved refund. Accounting managers not trained for positions. Have too go to small claim court to get refund.

Ever since I moved into Summerwood I had relocated my dentist to Summerwood Smiles and I have never regretted doing so. I tried them out 1st before I brought them my grandchild and we are both so satisfied with there service. I have had plenty of dentists in my life and I find them to be the best for customer care and no pain. We both cant wait to go again at our scheduled dates. There staff is very welcoming and professional and take deep interest in our needs and we leave with confidents that the job was done rite.

Take note the the one stars are nearly half of the 5 stars... it is for a reason... I would put money that the five star reviews are from paid reviewers. We literally just got a call saying they are no longer going to see our son for his phase 1 braces. It truly saddens me to write such a negative review. We have had problems from the get go. However we thought this office had the best course of action for the work our son needed done. The scheduling is horrible, we had a 18 month contract and we have surpassed that time because if you don’t call them for a appointment they will not call you for maintenance on braces or they will cancel on you hundreds of times. Our son suffers from sever anxiety so dental work is a extreme trigger for him. We would be told one thing would happen and we would talk to our son about it to prepare him and then we get to the appointment and it would be scheduled wrong. Naturally, we where annoyed. However a new ortho doctor takes over but that doesn’t deter our frustrations as we get to his last appointment (before they canceled on us) where a tooth was supposed to be pulled and it wasn’t the case...again a scheduling error... my husband was aggravated as this is a huge deal for our son. Needless to say only a month latter when I again call to see when his appointment is since they could care less as they have been paid in full are we informed that this will be his last appointment and they are just removing his braces because the ortho doc felt disrespected. We will be filing suit. I do not recommend this office by any means.Update** my husband just went to our sons appointment to have his phase 1 braces removed. Prior to this appointment we took our son to two different orthos to make sure phase 1 was done. They both advised that he should have been further along but said he could take a break for a year. They also said to make sure they provide us with a retainer. When my husband walked into his appointment at Summerwood smiles They tried to have him sign a form stating that we are releasing Summerwood for our sons Phase1 braces (all we where told was they would be removing his braces). Obviously my husband refused because they had yet to provide us with a itemized statement of what we paid for. As this was going on our son went back to have his braces removed. Once he got the itemized statement my husband review it and saw that we had paid for a retainer for top and bottom... mind you they did NOTHING to his bottom teeth. Only when my husband pointed this out (that we had paid for a retainer and they needed to provide our son with one) did they take impressions for the retainer... they where literally going to screw us had we not requested the itemized statement. They are also having to refund us for a bottom retainer since no work was ever done on his bottom teeth... they would have let us walk out never knowing the difference had we not requested the itemized statement!!!!! Needless to say, they where very apologetic and my husband told them this is why he got so upset at the last appointment... they think saying sorry will fix the mistakes they consistently make.DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Do not patronize this place! My daughter wasnt informed the details of her visit and what her cost would be. She had to have an extraction and a crown and wasnt told what it would cost. After the extraction was done, she was told that she could pay an additional amount for a temporary until the crown arrives. After speaking with the front desk for over an hour, one of the young ladies finally acknowledged there was a miscommunication (in her terms) and that she should have been there 2 weeks prior for an impression. There wasnt a miscommunication, someone dropped the ball and didnt advise of the process or cost.

So after 3 attempts to get an appointment for a filling. Im told my appointment is for a cleaning???? I didnt ask for a cleaning . So when I show up for my appointment Im told Im not on the schedule for the filling. Bottom line is I called for a filling and your staff schedule the wrong thing. So I miss a day of work and its made out to seem like I did something wrong. Then Im told wI can pull it yeah right with my anxiety thru the roof. Nope off to a different dentist

This office isn’t good, I went in thinking it was a private practice, it’s not. It’s “owned” by a doctor and managed by a company which is why the office feels cookie cutter. Now my dental visit, x-rays, visit by the doctor. Now comes the horrible part, this guy comes in I think his name was Bill, we go over the recommendations by the doctor, this guy tripped over his words more than my two year old son.. his breath smelled like he had just finished eating Doritos. He gets to the end of his spill and asks how I’m going to be paying.. what in the world? Every dentist I’ve ever been to just asks if I accept the procedures and I sign a paper and pay at the end. This place is money hungry, I left without doing anything went to a private practice dentist and didn’t have to be sold on anything extra.. got my cleaning and two cavities filled for 120$ less than what this office quoted. Run!!!!!

Was a new client, almost. I set an appointment for my son. It was nearly a month in advance. So had everything ready, took time off work. 2 hrs before my appointment the call and say they dont accept my insurance but I can still pay cash if I want.

I was greeted with a barrage of smiles and hello’s. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and comforting. I didn’t know what to expect from my procedure so I was naturally nervous and had a lot of questions. Everyone involved made me feel very relaxed and assured me that they would take good care of me. They explained everything they were doing step-by-step and before you know it we were finished! I am super satisfied with the level of professionalism and will definitely be back!

Love coming here. I know I can trust them. Always come here to get my cleanings done. Very nice and friendly staff. Love that it’s so close to where I live. Hope to get my braces done here too pretty soon.

I visited Summerwood Smiles after seeing the same dentist for years. My last dentist within the same area was just not willing to work with me with payments. There were some things I needed work on and I thought I would give them a try. I will say, the way they work is slightly different than what I was use to, but I will say it was in a good way. Every person I spoke encountered was very professional and KNOWLEDGEABLE. They do there best to help working parents to get the necessary appointments needed. It has been roughly 2 months since my root canal was done, and I must say I have had much relief in that area and NO ISSUES! I will certainly be returning for my annual check-ups. Thank You Summerwood Smiles for working with me in my time of need!

Monica, The receptionist is so personable. She remembered my name, my job, and the project I was working on. Literally the friendliest receptionist Ive ever met. Marina was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned about my comfort. Dr. Kim explained the procedures more than any doctor Ive had, she answered my questions thoroughly and was the utmost professional. I was very impressed with the Dr. Who performed my root canal and her dental assistant also. This was by far the best dental office that Ive visited. Summerwood Smiles makes you feel like you are the only patient that they are seeing. This level of friendliness and knowledge is rare!! Thank you for all you do!

This office is inefficient with time since it took two separate visits to get x-rays, exam, and cleaning done (probably to double bill the insurance company). When I got home to look at my teeth (since I was not given the option to look at them there after the cleaning) I noticed there were still a couple minor stains I wanted taken care of.Other dentist offices Ive been to give complimentary toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, and even teeth whitening. Nothing complimentary here (what a surprise).I am not going to bother going back to this place again nor would I recommend to anyone.

Im a truck driver and had a tooth infection with severe pain. Not much dentist were open due to the covid-19 outbreak. Thankfully, i found summerwood smiles and they was able to squeeze me in their limited schedule to remove my tooth. I felt welcomed and I was in & out with in an hour. I will definitely be back if necessary while im in town. Thanks.

Great office , spent years trying to find a dentist that I actually like after my regular dentist didnt take my new insurance. I love the office , I love the atmosphere, and the staff are extremely down to earth and nice. Went in yo get my wisdom teeth removed after prolonging it for so long because of my fear, but the surgeon did a great job , he seemed so down to earth , I would recommend them to anyone.

I would describe this place as assembly line dentistry. Theyre trying to get as many customers in and out of there as possible. The dentist worked on my teeth and in between would go and work on other patients. Thats not terribly unusual, but I was in the office for almost five hours and my procedure was not that lengthy. I just sat there waiting for the dentist to come and finish putting a crown on my tooth. They finally came into my room and said they wouldnt complete the procedure till I paid them. It wasnt my fault they didnt take payment before they started, but I sat there for hours because one of the staff failed to charge me before the procedure. I sat there with half my tooth drilled away and had no choice but to pay them before theyd finish. Wholly unprofessional and uncaring. I need more dental work, but it wont be at this place.

They wont even answer my phone calls. Dentures dont fit and on the last visit I was told they would make it right and would call me the next day. No phone call. No correction. Im going to someone else to get my dentures fixed.

This is such a terrible dentist office. I had an appointment with Dr. Rhodes and I never saw her. The dentist who attended to me was the absolute worst. He had no bedside manner. He told me I needed a root canal and then repeatedly asked how I felt about it? Like how do you think I feel. He asked me a lot of idiotic questions. Then they gave me a bill for $1200 but I decided to get a second opinion and was told I never needed a root canal and instead only paid $12. I am glad I did not let their scare tactic or method to upsell me work. If i could give them a negative star I absolutely will. Terrible business.

I was aware of all of the negative reviews about Summerwood Smiles, but I wanted to give them a chance as they are close to my home. Unfortunately it turns out that I experienced many of the same issues that others experienced. Things like a long wait, showing up only to be told that the person who was to see me was not available and make a new appointment, the dentist was very rough on my mouth, hurting my lips and repeatedly banging my teeth with her instruments. They also tried hard to upsell me on additional services. To sum up my experience, I felt like I was being processed by a sledgehammer mechanic and not treated as a person or a patient. If you do decide to try them, go in with your eyes open. Also know that some of the glowing reviews may be the result of the incentives they offer to post great reviews. They are doing this to counteract all of the authentic negative reviews.

Love this location and their flexible hours! have gone in about 4 times in the past 2 months and Jasmin at the front desk is always ready to assist. Dr.Rhodes is also very helpful to her patients.

Do not go here. They want to do unnecessary work on you like doing extra x-rays, dental exams and such. I asked to just have a regular cleaning and they said no..you need a more deeper cleaning. I said....agreed..but I do not want that now. Had to call my insurance company to call them because they said the insurance company would not pay for it. They were wrong. So I show up to get a cleaning, as discussed with them, me and my insudance company and guess what? More unnecessary x rays and a dental exam. I asked about my cleaning and was told...We are seeing if we can do that today. Wasnt that the whole fn point of me going there? They are my teeth...I decide what is done to them. You do as I ask.

Excellent dentist office took care of me my husband and my 3 children. Really liked the service and my children liked it also!!

Everyone here is super nice and I like learning about the different stuff that theyre doing on my teeth (which is explained in good detail). Not as apprehensive of going to the dentist because of all the great people here.

We love Summerwood Smiles. All three of us use it, including our 12-year-old who just got braces. Easy payment plans, straightforward answers and super-friendly staff. Happy to have found them.

I did not receive good dental work from Dr Rhodes. She would not replace a crown that was done incorrectly by her. The crown came off after only a year and a half and is warranted for five years and now I am fighting to get them to warranty the replacement. My advice is dont use them.

First time there and the staff is great. Dental procedures was smooth and comfortable. Only issue is the time spent there.

The staff is nice but the DDS, Dr. Rhodes straight up lied to me about the amount of work that needed to be done in my mouth. She obviously tried to run up the insurance bill. It didnt sit right with me the things she was calling out that I needed to be done. So I got a second opinion and I didnt have nor need half of the stuff she recommended. WHAT A RIP OFF! I do not like to be hustled out of money from a DOCTOR! She was so nice and convincing about it as well. Mad me extremely angry. NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR THEIR BUSINESS!

Due to past experiences with going to the dentist I have fear and anxiety immediately walking into any dental office. On my initial visit I was so fearful that my blood pressure was ridiculously high. Dr. Kim advised that I needed to be sure to get it down so that they might be able to proceed on my next appointment placing the crown. Upon my return of course I am also anxious and fearful but I was able to have my procedure and without the usage of nitrous, (laughing gas). This was due to the professionalism and compassion Dr Kim and the staff there at Summerwood smiles. They were patient and sympathetic to my fears and phobia. I am a new patient here and will continue with all future checkups and treatment with this firm. Not going to say that my phobia will disappear but I do feel at the staff here will be able to help me complete all my visits with the least amount of anxiety possible.

Take your business elsewhere. I went in to get a routine cleaning and have my cavities filled. I had no pain but knew they were there by sight. Dentist filled the cavities and said otherwise my teeth looked good.Fast forward one month and I am still experiencing pain where the fillings were done. Every single tooth that was filled has been uncomfortable and sensitive to pressure since.So I go back, the dentist blatantly ignores the issue of the fillings, and alleges now that the issue is that I need 3 root canals. The other dentist at their office said I had no need for root canals just a couple of weeks ago. Keep in mind that I had no pain or sensitivity prior to going in to get work done in their office. I suspect the fillings were done improperly.Why risk going here when there is another dentist just down the street? Your teeth dont grow back. If they mess you up like they did me, you could possible risk permanent and chronic tooth pain.Additionally, their dentists do not give you the time of day. As soon as they are in front of you, they are discussing a patient in another room. I was left sitting in the middle of my cavity fillings so long that the numbing medication wore off and they had to re-inject me to keep working.UPDATE: To add insult to literal injury, I just recieved a phone call out of the blue asking me to confirm an appointment I never made, and when I called to cancel, the lady at the phone said that it was an automatically scheduled check up. I was frank but polite in telling her that I would like to be removed from their system due to a bad experience, and then she hung up with me mid scentence.I mean honestly, you all need to get yourselves together people; there is no excuse for this or your mcdentistry model of treating patients.

Today was the last straw. I made a 9am appt. Showed up only to find out that last week the doctor took the morning off and they wouldnt have a dentist until 1p. Mind you that I made the appointment on Thursday AFTER the doctor took the week off. This is NOT the first time this has happened either. In August I made an appt for a cleaning and to see the dentist. They hygienist wasnt in and I would need to reschedule my cleaning. Then we have had MULTIPLE billing issues. In my opinion they are deceptive and unreliable. There are many options in the area. Will NOT return.

Seriously can not thank them enough!! I used to be terrified of dentist and I had major work needing done and while with my health issues one of their oral surgeons ended up not comfortable doing it as planned and Antonio did everything to make it right and I ended being sent to a diff oral surgeon to have teeth remove d and dentures placed the same day which was less than 24 hrs later and I am honestly in very little pain the dentinst dr Kim is sweet great bedside manners but honest and is very easy working on you as well!! Awesome staff!!!

Not good .. I got my wisdom tooth removed and my lower jaw’s shape has changed after that , the last part of the jaw where the tooth was removed, sticks out a little , feeling really uncomfortable.. I have removed my other wisdom tooth before , it looks perfectly fine . Never going there again..

This Dentist Office is Horrible. Do not subject yourself or your family. I wish I could give Zero Stars. I went in to Get a Simple Cleaning and 2 Hours later was refused service! ealthy with Zero Dentures, Caps, or Crowns. My insurance changed and thus I made appointment for cleaning With This bad office... Smile Denistry. After 90 minutes to just complete xrays Dr Johnson. recommended that I get a deep below the gum line paradontal cleaning. I agreed until they told me it was $688 out of Pocket. I declined and said I would just take the insurance cover normal cleaning. To Which the administrator said normal cleaning will do me no good What kind of BS that a cleaning will do no good. Does that mean no one should get a cleaning ever? When I pressed they refused to ProvideService. Worst Dentist I have been to in 40 years of Dental Experience

I had been having horrible tooth pain for a long time. I found this dentist on my insurance plan and the next morning i was taken care of. Dr. Rhodes didnt give me any type of run around she told me the tooth had to come out. I have a paralyzing fear of needles so she gave me nitrous which totally relaxed me. 30 minutes later that tooth was gone. Will definitely be back. Staff is very friendly and a very clean place. Dr rhodes stayed with me the entire time..

I have been coming to this location for over a year now.I have had cleanings (Dentist), wisdom teeth removed (Surgeon) , and my daughter is now seeing their Ortho. They have a wonderful staff, clean facility, and I never have to wait long to get in. Awesome customer service!

Crown has fallen 6 times already and every time that I come back so they can fix it takes between 2 to 3 hours

Very unprofessional staff said the would call me back to schedule my appointment and never did. Then when I went into the office to tell them they looked dumb founded. They told me I had a confirmed appointment when I never talked to anyone. It turns out it was my wifes appointment. So obviously they cant tell the difference between a woman and a man

Gave me a go around for 3days after told them my tooth was killing!!! Secretary was horrible very rude made appointment somewhere else
