Love this salon and my stylist, Blakley!!!! I could go on and on, but I have on Yelp…. I’ve always had a great head of hair but just because you have a lot doesn’t make it beautiful…. He’s taken it to the next next level. People stop me all the time to compliment me! Everyone asks where I get my hair done now - I love it!!! Great service all around!

I had a terrible experience here. Went to get hair color and hair cut for an interview. The stylist did an extremely poor job. Hair was cut badly and a lighter brown color shade was applied instead of dark black( as requested to match my hair) it was a disaster. This is after paying so much money. Do not go here

It was my first time in M Salon and I am very happy with the service. Blakley was my stylist and he was awesome! I highly recommend him. I had such a great time chatting with him. I laughed though the whole haircut - it made my day! He did a great job with my hair and even made me some curls. He listened carefully my expectations and did exactly what I asked for + more. He informed me me about every product he used on my hair and recommended me some products I asked for.Besides that, everyone in the salon wear a mask, and every station was disinfected carefully after use. They also checked my temperature when I arrived, so they follow all CDC guidelines.The price was very reasonable. I will definitely come back here!

I have not lived in Houston too long. My hair was desperate for some attention. I googled hair salons and tried M Salon. I am so happy that I did. My stylist was Liz. She is wonderful! She listened to my concerns and then went to work. I am very happy with the outcome. I didnt mention that I have natural curly hair and anyone knows that it is hard to work with, as far as cutting. Liz, you did a fantastic job, thank you. I will be back.

Blakley is the one person who has ever successfully trimmed my hair so that it can properly curl.A++

Had an appointment for 1030am. I came at 1030 and I understand things are bit different process with COVID. The sign said to call first when you arrive and wait in the car. I called and went straight to voicemail. Waited 30mins and no call back at all. I called multiple times. I left, because time is valuable and I’m not going to waste it. Only went here because they do hair donations. I doanate my hair to cancer. I understand if y’all are busy, I work in an ER, but at least inform us that you are busy. Then I can plan my day accordingly. Left that place. The worst experience.

Ive been coming to M Salon for about a year now. Today was my 1st time at their new Waugh location, what a beautiful salon. I cant say enough about Blakely who styles my 15 yr old hair. He always does a fabulous job with her highlights and style. Elizabeth is amazing!! She knows exactly how to style my hair the way I like. LOVE IT, LOVE IT. I highly recommend M Salon.

Margaret did my hair and make up for my wedding and Maggie did my bridal party and everything turned out so beautifully! They fit me in last minute after I had been told by multiple stylists that I had too much hair for the style I wanted. Margaret was able to pull off exactly what I wanted including tinsel extensions, which I recognize is probably a little unusual, hah AND my hair stayed in place perfectly all night. She was also very receptive to me wanting a more natural look for my make up, which I found was surprisingly hard to find in wedding make up. Every time I look at my photos Im excited by how lovely everything looked :) I would choose Thairapy again in a heartbeat.

Lisa Murfey (Stylist) is awesome! Professional, courteous, and skilled. Ive been bouncing around Houston for a few years now trying to find a stylist that fit with my personality and style. Lisas knowledge of hair, combined with her experience and innate ability to quickly understand what I needed, is remarkable. Thairapy (The Salon) has a great atmosphere as well, and I really enjoyed my experience. Im sure I will be returning for many years to come.

I have naturally curly hair and it has been difficult for me to find anyone to cut my hair with my curls in mind but my AMAZING stylist Nicole did an amazing job. I still have a ways to go before I can get my hair back to an awesome state but my curls in the end looked so much better then they had originally. To that I will stay a loyal client. Next appointment is tomorrow and I cant wait!!! 😄

Ive been going to Thairapy Salon for a few years now, always with Nicole. I underestimated how great it is to have a reliable stylist who knows me, my hair, and my style. Nicole has helped nurture my hair and keep it healthy - and she wont let me make any drastic changes without telling me to sleep on it first! The salon is always clean and bright, and the receptionist is friendly. Highly recommend.

Ive been going here for probably 4+ years now, and I can say without hesitation, Nicole is the best stylist Ive had. Whether shes doing a cut that I want to try out, or when I tell her to surprise me, and do what she thinks would look best, she always goes well beyond the basic level of service. Im always so thrilled with how well she can cut and style my hair, and weve certainly done many different styles in the time Ive been going there. Ive never had a problem waiting, service from the everyone is always top notch. So Im short, Nicole is THE BEST!!! She doesnt push products on you, just makes some great recommendations, and if you want something, great, if not, great. She is meticulous about every detail, and will do whatever you ask of her. As long as she is an employee here, Ill be a customer!

After I started going to Nicole about 5 years ago, I havent stopped seeing her since. With few exceptions, Ive regularly continued seeing her at this location, because she works with care to become familiar with your hair, and help it work to your advantage. Otherwise, the staff is friendly, the decor is chic, mimosas and bourbon drinks are served, and a haircut is completed quickly, but with care.

Alejandra was great! I made an appointment very last minute, and they were able to fit me in, and got me in and out with a great haircut! My hair was in horrible shape, but she cleaned it right up for me! It even looks great after a wash and my own attempt at styling it. Thats a sign of a great haircut right there! I would definitely go back.

Ive been going to LISA for over 7 yrs now. She always does a great job and makes sure she knows exactly what I want before she starts. On top of being talented and really nice, she gives great head massages, so Im super relaxed when I leave!!

I was very hesitant about trying someone new in my locs but Margaret has taken great care of my hair. She cleans and massages my scalp THOROUGHLY and has given me the best style. I love her personality and timeliness. The whole staff is very friendly and the salon is incredibly relaxing!

I have been to Thairapy twice for hair cuts and Lisa has been my stylist. She is awesome! She gives you and amazing scalp massage when youre getting your hair shampooed. Both times she has finished my hair quickly but has done a wonderful job with my cut and style. Compared to many other salons near downtown Houston, Thairapy is a great value for what youre paying. My haircut and style is $50, which is great for such a cute, chic salon in the Montrose area. They also always offer me a wide selection of beverages (including mimosas and wine) when Im there and have online booking, which is great!

Wonderful, warm, friendly staff. Making appointments is extremely easy and you are never waiting too long like most other places that try to jam in a lot of appointments at once. I recently moved to Houston and found thairapy under positive google reviews as well as being reasonably priced for the area. Nicole is amazing, and has taken great care of my hair (which has been through a lot the past years, and is recovering from years of using boxed dye) As someone who is trying to grow their hair out she offers great tips on keeping your locks healthy, cuts your hair in lengths that keep your hair healthy to continue growing, and still able to style while you take on the task of growing your locks out. Everyone here is extremely friendly, the salon is super clean, and pricing is super affordable for cut a color...especially in a big city like Houston.

What a wonderful experience! The staff at Thair Therapy was wonderful and made me feel welcome. Margaret, my stylist was talented, creative and gave me a beautiful cut and style. She took the time to tell me how to take care of my new style and the best products to use. 1st visit for color and cut was great. Second visit was a nightmare. I showed Lisa a picture of my hair from the first time I came and said, This was perfect. Do that again. She went to check her notes, brought over a book of hair swatches (I guess to point out what she did last time?) and I said, Thats fine - I dont know what you did last time, but just make it look like it did last time. Remember, I showed her a picture of my hair that SHE did. I trusted her to be able to repeat it. I settled in while she did her thing, then when she was done I went to Elizabeth to get my haircut.After my haircut when my hair was dry I could plainly see that Lisa had dyed my hair purplish gray. Elizabeth went and got Lisa so I could talk to her, and Lisa tried to play it off by saying, I decided to go darker as though that was her choice!? Just, what??? First, no. You dont decide unilaterally to do something different than what your client asked for. Second, MY HAIR WAS PURPLISH GRAY. NOT A COLOR FOUND IN NATURE. She then tried to blame me, by saying that she brought the book over and I said okay. Are you kidding? I dont do hair. That is not my job. If you tell me that you can make my hair that color, and its the same as what you did last time, I believe you! Its not my job to do technical consulting on the process of doing my hair with you. The nerve.Since I had already been there for more than two and a half hours, I had to go. I stopped by the front desk and talked​ to the owner, and she agreed my hair was not like the picture that I was showed Lisa that I wanted, and that it was indeed gray. I scheduled time to come back the next day to fix everything. Fast forward​ to the next day at the end of the 2nd treatment: my hair was still not right. The top half, especially at the roots and about 4 down was BRASSY. Midway down and to the tips, it still had a grayish (ashy) tint. Since my hair had been through 2 days of work, Rachel (owner) suggested I come back after the weekend to see if things got better at the top, and we could put a toner on the bottom half. I guess she thought the top​ half wouldnt be as brassy by then? I dont know, Im not a stylist. I said fine and scheduled time this morning (Tuesday) to fix everything.I walked in and Lisa askeds what we were doing today, and I said Were going to fix it. The top is still brassy- and thats where Lisa cut me off. She said she was not going to touch the top half. I grabbed my stuff, told her that was fine, that I would be talking to the owner again, and I walked out. That was a little more than an hour ago - Im waiting for a call back from the owner. I will update this review if/when they fix my hair, or give me back my money. I will say, that the haircut I got from Elizabeth was exactly what I asked for last time, and exactly what I asked for this time. She did an amazing job. If I could give her 5 stars in this review, and Lisa 0 stars in this review, I would.

First of all they serve bourbon and mimosas! its super hard to find stylists who know how to cut womens hair short without it looking like a bad wig or the kate+8 do. my lady Maggie literally gave me a haircut off a photo I brought and referenced it multiple times during the haircut.

Thoroughly disappointed. I went in for a Bridal Hair & Makeup trial only to find out that theyd only scheduled enough time for one of the two services. The lady rushed through my hair and makeup and did a terrible job. My updo looked like a messy bun, and despite asking for a natural look, my makeup was comprised of two striking purple eyes and caked on makeup. The lady was friendly although a few times during our conversation she would randomly turn to her colleagues and start talking to them (rude). I spoke to a manager about my experience, and although she was sympathetic, she did not issue me a refund for one of the services as I requested. She said the most she could do was offer me a 25% discount on another trial run. After spending $150 at this run down place, I dont dare to go back.

I used Thairapy for my wedding and while the receptionist is nice, he called continually during my wedding to settle a remaining bill. It is unprofessional to unrealistic to think anyone could answer the phone while getting married. The makeup artist also did not understand our time line for the day. I wasnt impressed with the application and In the end I had to stop her and finish myself in order to make it down the isle in time. In all photos Ive received, all the girls that had makeup done including myself look ghostly and washed out. Im very disappointed with the quality and how the remaining balance was settled. I wouldnt use them again.

This was my first visit and experience to Thairapy and I wanted to just try out a new salon for the summer. Ive only been to one other salon in Houston (Azur) and never had any concerns with the stylists. My past hair salon experiences have all been good, and I guess fortunate to have an experienced stylist take a look at my hair and know how to cut and style. I know it turns out to be a good haircut even after 3-4 weeks when the cut is grown out a bit but still styles well. This wasnt the case with my haircut and style at Thairapy.Even after less than a week with my haircut, the layers in front are barely seen and Lisa, the hairstylist, cut more length off my hair then I had asked even though she said she wasnt one of those stylist who is scissor happy. She also talked a LOT about how I should buy products from hair salons rather than retail stores such as a Kroger or non-salon places because the products are usually watered down and not as potent as products bought at a salon. While I find it to be somewhat true what she said, I didnt appreciate a sales pitch that made me feel uncomfortable for buying products outside a salon. This was my first visit to this salon and wanted to just get a nice haircut first. Then we can discuss products later. Pretty much every product I told her I was presently using (Paul Mitchell, Biotin) I should not have been using.There were also a few things I noticed from Lisa that I had never seen an experienced stylist do such as while drying my hair, she turned me around to where I wasnt facing the mirror anymore. So the entire time while she was styling my hair, I never saw it until the very end when she turned me towards the mirror. I wasnt impressed with the style because my hair was still frizzy in places and not smooth and I did notice the length of my hair but sometimes with so much frizz, my hair shortens. The next day I flat ironed it and definitely noticed a length difference and was very disappointed. Lisa also never looked closely at the front on both sides and measured with her hands if both sides in the front were even. When I got home, I noticed a length difference on both sides that should not have occurred from an experienced stylist. I paid good money to have a great haircut and unfortunately I was very disappointed in the sloppiness of the stylist.I did address my concerns with Rachel, the owner, who at first was attentive and listened to everything on the phone with me. We spoke again on the phone after she met with Lisa to address the issue and the one thing Rachel mentioned to me was that Lisa told her I visited FIVE different salons and didnt like any of them. Which was a blatant lie. To which I asked Rachel what other lies did Lisa tell her and Rachel responded, I can only go by what she tells me. I was very upset and of course, got defensive because this stylist was saying lies to cover herself. I never ONCE said anything negative about any other salon but Ive only visited ONE salon in Houston that I never complained about. Thairapy really needs to get their act together. I never lied once about what Lisa did or said but unfortunately her actions definitely speak louder than her words. Rachel rescheduled me with another stylist to fix what Lisa did but its unfortunate I have to go through this at an upscale salon. This has never happened to me. I hope my redo with a different stylist goes a whole lot better than with Lisa.

Ive been trying to grow my hair out for a long time, and it has grown a ton under Nicoles care. I have type 2B wavy hair and my cut looks awesome both straightened and natural.
