Ive been going here for a good while and I love it. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I never wait that long to be called back and be seen by the doctor. Allyson Gilstrap is amazing and has helped me so much, shes very attentive to any issues Ive had.

Medical staff is excellent and worthy of a 5 star rating. Caring, attentive, and helpful. However I would be appreciative if the office staff was more respectful of the patient’s time. I signed in and was forgotten about for 30 minutes, not called back up. It wasn’t until I went back up myself that the receptionist realized she had never given me my paperwork. I didn’t see a nurse until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, despite arriving early specifically to complete paperwork.

Some of the best medical care out there and great service. I got injured playing golf over at Ross Bridge a few weeks back- groin strain- and my buddies brought me down there. My lab tech, a guy named Phil was super professional but also super funny. Good times with that guy. A real paisan! Back home that’s what we call good people. This place is also conveniently located in the heart of Hoover with lots of great food options close by. If you’re down there and are hungry be sure to try Moe’s BBQ or Jubilee Joe’s.

I had an appointment with Dr. Jody Gilstrap for 10:30am today. I am a new patient so I had to wait for 3 months to get my appointment. I received a text yesterday reminding me that my appointment would be at 10:30 am today and to pls arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I have never personally been to his clinic and was recommended to him by a relative who was nice enough to book the appointment for me. I googled his address and when I arrived and waited to get in, I was informed that he was now located at another location across the street. I drove there, waited in line to have my temperature checked, and was informed again that I was at the wrong building and needed to drive a half mile to the actual location of his office.My appointment was at 10:30 and I arrived and signed the sheet at 10:32. They informed me that I was too late to my appointment to be seen because I needed to really be there at 10 instead of 10:30 even though my appointment is at 10:30. I explained about the confusion with the address. They said they understood, but it didnt matter and that I would have to reschedule for another day even though I have waited 3 months. If in the message the said that it was 100% necessary for me to be there at 10 instead of 10:30 then I would have of course come at 9:45, but it only passively asks you to arrive early to fill out paperwork, which I WOULD HAVE DONE HAD THE ADDRESS ON HIS GOOGLE LISTING BEEN CORRECT! It no where says that it was a mandatory time of 10am in which case you should have it say MUST BE HERE AT X TIME TO BE SEEN.Very poor scheduling and handling of me as a new patient. I will not be back and do not recommend anyone to go here if this is how they handle their own error by not updating their address. I cant imagine how they would handle me if I had a genuine medical concern so please try anywhere else. He is apparently an amazing doctor, but thats moot if his office handles their business this way.Attached below is a copy of the message that I received and did respond YES to. I see that it says Brocks Gap, but having never been to the physical location there is no way I would know that it would not be the same place as the location listed when you look him up. They are both hospitals so how would I know that hes changed unless he updated his information.

My husband has had a new patient appointment with this office for well over a month, completed the paperwork, and adjusted his very busy schedule to make the time. He was texted confirmation of the appt last week, and then yesterday they texted that the appt was canceled with the doctor. But he was to come in next week to see the nurse practitioner. I am an RN, so no offense to the nurse, but when you request a doctor, that is what you mean. Also I understand the recurring revenue stream of business and the fact that these offices charge the same amount for a nurse as a doctor. Win, win for them, not so much for the patient. Poor patient care.
