Ive been to this DTE many times as I grew up further down towards the old Honolulu Stadium growing up & riding my bike my Mom told me that behind DTE use to be small park & Japanese language school. She my Mom stated do not go any further than Moiiliili, across DTE where Longs is used to be Star supermarket. The days of my youth Anyway DTE every thing in there is natural organic & HEALTHY!!! they have a food bar vegetarian like Castle Hospital vegetarian Cafe inside, I could enjoy eating different types of vegetarian food, but eventually always go back to local grindz.Note: Its Pricey$$$ in there !Theres Only one thing that I purchase there Toothbrush seriously Right hand & Left hand Toothbrush soft. Youve got to see it & try it cant use type Dentist comp you or types that are sold in stores! Found out about it 10 years ago, been using it Ever since! Its Awesome & every 6 months cleaning I get good feedback via Kaimuki Dentistry, Appointment tomorrow @ 1130. Rinse with Crest mouthwash, dont want to be offensive to anyone. Aloha Ahui houuuu

A few days ago I was shopping with my partner & was trying to buy beauty products while he was getting food and one of the employees near the cosmetic area asked me twice if I needed help. Immediately I was feeling uncomfortable but continued shopping until I noticed her following me around the store. When we went to the register I told my partner last minute that I felt uncomfortable and wanted to put the products I got away and that was when she came up to the register and said are you gonna buy the cosmetics?. I put them away because I was just over it and she said thank you in a rude way. Weve been shopping with you guys for years thats very unprofessional and discriminatory behavior. The manager I called the next day didnt bother to do anything. My partner will still buy for groceries but I will no longer support this store! Do better!

I often go to other locations of Down To Earth. This branch is rather small, compared to other locations, but I was surprised and got excited to find more vegan items than other locations, especially vegan lasagna and vegan eggplant “parmesan-like” dish of their hot bar. The food was a little dry. Maybe they should make less at a time. Also, less plastic use would be nicer to be eco-friendly.

Not a lot of variety and the food is only so so. I am kind of amazed they are still in business. There is not a whole lot of competition for all organic groceries. Organic soda? I think that is a bit of trickery to sell something that is not healthy but tastes good. Love the free parking and location is convenient. Staff acts irritated to be disturbed by pesky questions.

Everyone said it would be difficult and expensive to be a vegan in Hawaii and they were right. Thank goodness we found this gem! They had everything we are used to having on the mainland at decent prices. Great fresh produce and a nice variety of Vegan and Gkuten free product. The parking was tricky but definitely worth the trouble. Bring your own bags as they charge 10 cents a bag!

All of the staff were, Down To Earth :DThis place has a plethora of organic, natural, foods and products to choose from. They even have a small juice bar that offers freshly pressed juices, sandwiches, coffee, and freshly made acai bowls. They have a salad bar with raw foods to choose from. They have a cooked foods, and already prepared foods area as well. And they even have pizza, bread, and dessert items as well. The market itself is, well, it is full of items! Their fresh produce was well organized and clean. There was so much, you will have plenty to pick and choose from.I did try their acai bowl, and freshly pressed juices. Both were fresh and delicious. I would definitely go back and try these items again, as well as new items from their menu.Kombucha anyone!? Yes, they have fresh kombucha! Im telling you, they have it all :)They even have a couple of benches outside where you can sit and eat your food.Watch out for bums though, as there are plenty outside.Everything was freshly stocked, and I found everything I needed. I went in to get some ear drops, and tried out some of their food while I waited, it was worth the wait.

I just love Down to Earth. I enjoy just meandering around and seeing all the local foods and other unique things. It feels like home. I take my two boys, and we all have our favorite foods and truly love the cheesy potatoes. The hot foods are always fresh tasting, and are usually just made. I cannot tell you how many times, we have been standing at the hot foods, when fresh trays come out. We are loving all the baked items. We adore the Bird Bars and Carob Bars. Our favorite location is the King Street Location. It feels like family.....Love locally owned!

We’ve been going to down to earth for the last few years. Lately ordering online from their deli has been like playing Russian roulette. Out of our last 5 orders they only got 1 right! We’d order mock chicken salad and get the wrap instead, order 20 nuggets and get 8 or order their special breakfast burger and get the standard earth burger. I’m not one to complain or even write reviews, but this is frustrating beyond belief! Something needs to change with their ordering system.

The space is small and packed with great groceries. The issue is it is small and not a large selection. Sometimes it takes a while for the store to restock. The food bar is beautiful. Fresh hot food and pizza. Delicious fresh produce. And you can sit outside to eat your delights. Space outside is limited, a downside. Otherwise a place you can go to quickly and eat healthy.

Ive been to many down to earth store locations, even on different islands. This is by far the worst one mainly because of the pre made food is just not as good for some reason. Also I think prices have raised. For example the cookies they have are amazing but last time I bought one the price went up quite a bit. It didnt feel worth the price for a 1 cookie. Was like 6 or 7 dollars for 1 cookie...

This market has an amazing product selection and excellent hot food bar as well as delicious vegan and vegetarian dessert items. I can literally spend an hour perusing through the aisles discovering new and tasty foods. The down side is that it is a small space but that is a minor complaint, the employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about what they carry so they have saved me from wondering around aimlessly trying to find stuff. Its a bit out of my way to visit this market but totally worth the effort:)

Its pretty pricey here for certain items, but other items cheaper than whole foods. They offer a food bar, but be aware not all items are the same price so dish accordingly as they weigh it at checkout. They have a decent for the area bulk bin selection and spice rack that you can buy in whatever weighted quantity you seek.Must wear shirts and sandals according to their sign out front... So Im going to try no pants and see what happens.

Its an organic marvel. Their buffet and menu items are fab! Its Hawaii though, so dig deep into your wallet for produce that youd expect would be plentiful and local. Maybe the mainland gets most of it. However, this is the premier health foods store on Oahu ~ more than one location. Price aside, a very nice place. In Honolulu traffic youll soon learn to love King St. location, reasonably easy to find and park.

Down To Earth has organic food that I couldnt find after searching 5 different stores. Its about one-fifth the size of Wholefoods but it has a Waikiki-ish location. Theres a great selection of hot food items & fresh baked goods. The coconut donut was dense & heavenly but the mango bread was disgusting. The fruits and vegetables are amazing! Ive yet to buy produce that wasnt high quality & delicious. Theres also a good selection of local fruits. The gentleman working the produce section was helpful & takes great pride in providing top quality items.Down To Earth does not sell ANY eggs though. That was strange....

A very pleasantly diverse store, reasonably accessible from major condominium rentals if you are a tourist. A couple things things that are not immediately clear from Google Maps or the company website which a savvy shopper may want to know. First, this is a vegetarian store, so we got funny looks when asked which aisle has bacon and where to find eggs. Secondly, by multiple accounts the company is involved in the Krishna religion/cult and so by shopping there one implicitly supports it. Neither of those bothered us, but make your calls fully informed.

I wanted to try my dog on V-dog vegan dog food. They do not have this at King Street but they do at Kapolei. I phoned Kapolei and asked if they could send a bag to King Street. The person at Kapolei told me they no longer do this but I could ask King Street Branch to order a bag for me. I just called King Street Branch and was told NO, that they couldn’t do this. I have supported Down To Earth for years and am vegan. The dog food at King Street Branch is too high in fat. I am so very, very disappointed.
