I never got an appointment here I was running a little late. I’ve always wanted to come! What was the most frustrating was speaking with Joana the manager. She automatically brought up my previous employment here... 1 year later! I was coming with my boyfriend to relax & when I called to clarify things about my appointment it turned into an argument plus previously working here, does not make sense I didn’t even book the massage it was gifted to me. She’s always been very unprofessional.

Closed down and didn’t reimburse customers for purchased gift cards. This equates to stealing. BBB couldn’t get in contact with them either and suggested legal action :/

Came here with a group on. its decent. i love the variety of rooms here and that theyre not too crowded on weekdays. my favorite is the charcoal mud clay room. unlike all the other Korean spa, this one has a no naked rule. not sure why.

The environment was very relaxing and very inviting. The massage therapist was very caring and informing. When I had questions they answered and was not bothered about me asking questions. They made sure I was comfortable and really worked on areas they found to be tight or over worked. Not a big fan of the tea at the end but was a nice gesture with the dessert. They didnt rush and made sure I got my money worth. The price range I feel match the service they give. Will recommend to anyone a must go.

Booked an appointment out of spontaneity and I was blown away by such outstanding customer service. I was greeted warmly by everyone there. The facial and massage was superb. Yay for extractions! Thank you so much to Melissa for taking care of me. I was sad for the hour to go by so quickly! As I prepared to go home, she led me into a quiet room where I could enjoy a little sesame sorbet and tea. On the table, theres a sign that tells you to take your time.. I love how I didnt need to feel rushed. Oh my love!! Best spa Ive ever been to.. I would definitely fly back to Oahu just to come here again.

This place is amazing! I love the place because it is relaxing and comforting. The service or spa is very good. But I really love how they take care of their customer, from the start to finish is all worth it. I highly recommend this place for an awesome experience.

When people asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year, I told them Laka Spa gift certificates. When they asked about Christmas, I told them Laka Spa gift certificates. When my boyfriend asked about Valentines Day, I told him Laka Spa.I dont normally splurge on luxury treatments but I have celebrated several special occasions at Laka Spa and will continue to do so. Every experience has been fantastic. The staff is friendly, efficient, and absolutely great at what they do. They always greet me with the appropriate Happy birthday/ anniversary/etc. and make sure Im comfortable throughout my treatments without ever being invasive or challenging the ambiance. The space has always been clean and the mood relaxing; truly what you envision when you think of a perfect spa day.I highly recommend taking advantage of their seasonal specials as they allow you to try your favorite massages or facials with different oils or to experience new treatments you wouldnt normally consider. This is how I discovered their foot reflexology treatment. As someone who until recently had a job which required me to stand all day I can honestly say that this is the ONLY foot treatment Ive ever had that really relieved my pain. Now I book this every time.I still have gift cards left from Christmas and I cant wait to use them!

Ive been going to Laka Spa for the past year...the place is such a peaceful and comforting retreat from our busy lives! I love how theyve created such a beautiful and tranquil space.Customer service and quality of services are excellent. You cant go wrong with any of the masseuses here...Mike provided an exceptional massage during my last visit. It was the perfect combination of deep tissue with stretching and relaxation. I left feeling like a new person! The reflexology specialists are so skilled -- foot and facial massages are incredible! The refreshments at the end of each session are an especially nice touch!

Great place to go for massage therapies and facial treatments in town. Conveniently located with parking. The relaxation starts from the moment you open the door. The decor is simple, yet relaxing. I believe I had the owner as my massage therapist, and she did a wonderful job. As a ending treat, they also offer you tea and homemade black sesame seed ice cream. You definitely need to take a break and enjoy a relaxing treatment at Laka Spa.

I did the couples massage and facial for an anniversary and it was amazing. I felt very good and relaxed after the massage. I will definitely be coming here again and it is the only spa that I will go to from now. Laka Spa was a great experience and all of the workers are really nice.I love that they offer vegan and cruelty free products, which are very important to me as a vegan.However, I wish that they did offer a vegan alternative to the complementary ice cream they serve to you after your session.

I absolutely LOVE Laka Spa! Ive been here on a few occasions with my girlfriends and we all really enjoyed our spa day. Ive been to a few spas before, but this is (by far) my favorite spa location on the island! The spa technicians and workers are all very friendly & professional. My favorite treatments are the Laka signature massage, foot reflexology & scalp massage!I would definitely recommend Laka Spa to EVERYONE. I cant wait to make another appointment & indulge in more heavenly treatments!

I had a wonderful experience at Laka!! I got a full body massage, lavender foot scrub, hand reflexology, scalp treatment, and a full facial. Every service was amazing. The spa itself was lovely and so clean. Definitely recommend.

I love Laka Spa! First of all, when you first enter the spa, there is a calm and soothing atmosphere. Someone at the desk will greet you and take you where you need to go for your treatment. I love the massages, the facials and the jade stone floor, where you just lie down and relax and detox. I have been to a few day spas around town and I like Laka Spa the best. After your treatment, they serve you a nice tea and special coma (sesame seed) ice cream, made by the owner.

Laka Spa is truly an oasis - a hidden gem in the middle of bustling Honolulu. The ambience is amazing with care taken in every little detail to make you feel at ease and relaxed in this beautiful spa. The hydrogen scalp spa is one of a kind and I love getting facials and massages at Laka; my husband enjoys the foot reflexology and massage treatments. And the complimentary tea and sorbet dessert at the end of each treatment is such a nice treat! Love this place!

My sister and I have visited Laka Spa on several occasions. Its a small oasis on Ward right across from Sports Authority. When you enter you are greeted with a calm quiet atmosphere and can change into spa slippers provided up front. They take you to one of the two changing rooms with lockers where you leave your belongings and change into robes. Technicians wait patiently outside as you change and direct you to the treatment rooms when you are ready. Standard spa operating procedure.We only have experience with facials at this location. My experience and satisfaction varies based on the technician. I have been very satisfied and utterly disappointed on different occasions. Its really a hit or miss - I have asked not to be assigned the disappointing technician again and hope that will help future visits to be consistently pleasant. The technique used by the disappointing technician was pressure-point based (Im guessing) - instead of spending time massaging my head/neck/decollete while waiting for masks etc. to set she just poked a spot on my face with a good amount of force and did not move for the entire waiting period. Maybe thats your cup of tea, but I particularly enjoy the massage portions of a facial. To be fair, my sister has enjoyed every visit so far. Speaking of tea, every session is concluded with tea and sorbet in a nice sitting room. They do not make you feel rushed and its a great way to end the spa visit.

I have come here on two occasions, once with a small group and the other time with just one friend. Both times the service was fantastic! We love the small cozy atmosphere and all the beautiful furnishings. The tea and ice cream after the massage was refreshing and the staff never rushed us even though we were the last appointments for the day.I am definitely coming back! Its a little pricy but worth it for special occasions.

I went to Laka Spa with my boyfriend for our 4 year anniversary. We did one of the couples massage pack, which included a 45 minute massage and 45 minute facial. Both the massage and facial were excellent. They really attend to your needs and what you want. The experience ended with complementary tea and ice cream, which were both really good. I really love the ambience at Laka Spa and it smells amazing! Both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience at Laka Spa and cant wait to go back!I also really love the products they use and that the products are cruelty free!

My roommate actually brought me here after she had come several times for foot reflexology, Ive since come back almost every weekend. The massages feel great and I feel are priced extremely reasonably, not to mention everyone is very warm, welcoming, and helpful. The atmosphere is quiet, calm, and relaxing; it really makes you feel youre being rejuvenated for another long week. Overall, the experience here is fantastic and absolutely love hanging out here with everyone! I wholeheartedly recommend trying Laka Spa out, bring a friend, or even give it as a gift!

I enjoyed this spa - it was nicely decorated and very relaxing the moment I stepped inside the door.The massage was great, and it was a nice touch to have a little sorbet and tea after the massage.My friend and I enjoyed our visit and it was a great place to have a little mommys day out :) I also think its wonderful that its a locally owned and operated store and will continue to come here and support our local economy!The 5-star loyalty program is a smart idea too!

I arrived in Hlin a dire need of a facial. Found Aka Skin Care and Spa and now I have a regular place for my HLskincare needs. Lillian was wonderful and the environment is very clean and beautiful!

Laka Spa closed in June.They promised reimbursement for gift cards and there has been no contact even with multiple attempts.

LOVE Laka. This is by far my favorite place to go for a massage...Ive been coming here since they first opened. If I could, Id go every week for a deep tissue massage (and I probably should). Ive also had the foot reflexology, which is also amazing- its a great addition to the massage (they sometimes have packages/specials for this). If you havent tried this place yet, I definitely recommend you do.

I initially came to Laka Skin Care and Spa on a referral and gift from a friend. I normally dont do facials but was told that they do an amazing job here. I am now hooked! I get so relaxed while my face is pampered and when I am done my skin feels amazing. The environment is quiet and discreet and the sesame ice cream and tea is nice touch ending your service

I am giving 1 star because the facial was really good. What prevents me from giving a better review is that I asked for a signature facial at a cost of 95.00, plus I was suppose to get a consult. The lady came in an was up selling me, which is fine and I agreed to what she offered at a price quoted at 140-150 and I said no higher than that and she agreed. At check out I was told my bill was 250.00 and when I explained what was said she told me that it was a the language barrier and I probably did not understand the charge. I very calmly said, no, I understood and she understood that 150.00 was my limit. She said she would give me 10% off of 250.00. I told her I would be writing a review and then she said, you misunderstood me I said it was 150.00. MIND BLOWN at the idiocracy of this conversation. It is a nice place, very soothing but be specific on what you are asking for and maybe pay before so there is no misunderstanding.

Wonderful staff delivered a memorable experience for my wife and I — clean, quiet, and above all else, exceptionally relaxing! We cant recommend this spa enough and we look forward to our next visit. Dont miss out!

The BEST massage and facial Ive ever had! Was tired of hotel spas that charge too much & seems like the employees hate their jobs. Picked this spa from a Google search and SO glad I did. Service was excellent from the moment I walked in. If you are looking for an excellent service for your $$, youve found it. BOOK HERE. I promise you wont regret it.

My first visit was based upon a recommendation by a friend who had her bridal shower here... that was over six months ago and I have been back every weekend since. The foot reflexology is amazing (definitely recommend Yuji!) and has shown improvements with the daily headaches and tension I normally get. What a great way to holistically help rejuvenate both the mind and body!The staff is always warm and welcoming, both from the minute you walk in the door, up until the end when you are paying and booking your next appointment :). There is consistently exceptional service and welcoming personalities at the Spa.

My friend and I come pretty often to treat ourselves to a special Girls Day. I love their Signature Facial and relaxing in their Detox room. The girls at the front desk are always so professional and friendly. They do have awesome deals with their Loyalty Program. Highly recommend!

I went here solely for the body scrub which was the best one Ive ever experienced. I think this is the spa for me for the following reasons:

I do not like being touched by strangers. Furthermore, I do not like being greased up and rubbed awkwardly with no purpose for an hour by strangers. I have never truly been relaxed or enjoyed receiving a massage... until Laka.I first ended up at Laka as part of a friends baby shower outing. I was also 5 months pregnant, fat and uncomfortable. All I can say is, mind blown. I still walked out fat and pregnant but... happy!I religiously went every few weeks for my prenatal massage and continued after I gave birth. I have yet to have a massage therapist I didnt like and the entire staff is amazing. Laka is definitely a gem.

Other than not being told sooner about the loyalty rewards program, ive only had positive experiences here. the staff is friendly. the atmosphere is relaxing. the refreshments are delicious. and the services have been generally more than satisfactory.

So many spas promise but do not deliver. This one however, has everything you expect from a spa. Several years ago I found this hidden oasis...thank god. I work A LOT and really found the recharge for me is spa time...love the massages....it is a lovely peaceful space in an un-expecting building but the quaint size is half the charm, it feels always like I am the only on there, they must be master schedulers I never feel rushed, which I love. They have become more and more popular however the service remains impeccable.I own a retail store and one of the massage therapists recommended I try foot reflexology. It saves me during the holidays when I am on my feet non stop. They hire great people every therapist has been excellent I always leave relaxed and recharged and I never leave with out booking my next visit.oh love the heated stone room...so relaxing.

They were able to accommodate a same day massage which was awesome. The spa itself was great, decorations were perfect for a nice retreat in a easy accessible location with parking. I loved the slippers and robe to wear. The after treat of gelato, tea, and water was the perfect ending. Everyone was very nice and accommodating.

The spa is clean and has calming ambiance. The staff & the therapist were friendly and knowledgeable in their field. I requested a hydrogen scalp spa, a foot reflexology (with Sunny) and a Lomi Lomi (with Tiffany). Sunny was very patient with all my questions, concerns and recommended things for improvement. Overall it was a day well spent.

On our honeymoon, my husband and I got a couples massage and an extra scalp massage for me and a foot scrub for him. It was the BEST massage Ive ever had. Both the masseurs were very professional and we walked away floating! Would definitely come back if we were here longer.

The experience at Laka Spa is what I envision when I think of a spa experience. The mood is very serene, it smells nice and the people are very professional. Although there may be many other people in the facility, I always felt like I was in my own private space. The finishing snack is the cherry on top.

I made a last minute decision to get a massage and was so happy that Laka could accommodate my request.on such short notice. A half hour later I was there to begin my relaxation journey. Yuji was my scheduled massage therapist. I had seen Yuji before for a 30 minute foot reflexology session on one of my other visits to Laka, and felt at that time, that he was quite knowledgeable about the foot and reflexology.. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to see him for my body massage as well. He carefully listened, as I explained the areas that I needed to be addressed and took care of all of them. I came in with a bad headache, pain and major tension all over my body, which had been bothering me for days. I left the spa relaxed and rejuvenated and happy. From the outside you would never guess that the inside, is a hidden beautiful and simply designed treasure. A wonderful place to escape to when you need a little me time. The staff are also very friendly and professional. I have yet to be disappointed at Laka Spa and intend to return for other treatments.

Laka Spa is exceptional! After my my first experience, I was totally sold! Since then I have not returned to any of the other spas I used to frequent. While there were a few other places that provided great massages and facials, they lacked the excellent overall experience that Laka provides. Staff is friendly, professional, and great at what they do.. Lakas interior is beautifully designed and amenities are well maintained and clean. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you will feel welcomed and satisfied! Following your treatment, you will be seated in their lovely Tea Room and will be served an ice cream and warm tea treat to topoff your experience. Ive since recruited family members whose only spa to visit has now become Laka! We are a family of Marathoners and this has become our recovery place! Our number one gift giving idea is Laka Spa gift certificate!

I have been a loyal client of the spa for over two years and love that the moment I am greeted at the door, my cares melt away and I feel nurtured and at peace.I check the Laka website every month for specials and often indulge in a combination of treatments including massages, facials and foot reflexology. All have been exquisite. My favorite is a massage by Amy followed by foot reflexology by Yuji.Ask about Lakas FIVESTARS loyalty program which allows clients to earn points with every visit. So far Ive earned free treatments and discounts, which I am always happy to redeem!

Ive been here twice - both visits towards the end of 2014.The first time I came here, I had a groupon for a massage, hand reflexology and the stone sauna. First, the massage table was warmed and it was very hot AND you had a thick blanket on you. I started sweating in maybe two minutes, and I am one of those people who are never hot. I got the masseur to turn off the heat and it was fine. The techniques were heavy on the reflexology/accupressure. I was kind of confused through the process but I did end up pretty relaxed so that was ok. Didnt understand the stone sauna and left after 10 minutes (I had 20 minutes available). I was pretty bored lying there all alone. I did really like the green tea and sesame gelato served after the treatment.The second time I came here I got the signature facial. There was a lot of facial massage happening, which was different from facials I received from Hoala or the Modern. It was fine though. My real complaint is that when it came time for extractions, she turned on the light, took a quick glance and turned the light off. Then she pushed the machine out of the room to a man who was waiting. She did no extractions, which is weird since I have always had light extractions performed on me. I know I dont have a lot, but I know I have some! Whatever, I figured maybe there was nothing to extract this time. Wrong. After I got home and looked in the mirror, there were definitely a few places she could have attended too. But I guess they were short on the steam/magnifying machines so she had to short cut my facial. Disappointing, to say the least.I came here for a friends birthday, so it was nice that the staff let us sit around and talk for quite a while. Mango sorbet was served this time - sesame gelato is better!
