Great doctors and lab technicians…. However, the woman working the counters needs to be helpful and not ignore customers and walking away as they are asking for help.Also I did not appreciate them scheduling me and everyone else with a 45 minute wait time!!! Have they ever heard of COVID??!!?When I picked up my glasses, no one checked to see if they need any adjustments. Definitely not going back!

Went a few months ago and the staff was amazing. Kim made sure we were more than satisfied, she is patient and showed us many options to help us find the perfect pair for us. Dr. Taub was thorough and got us in and out. Couldn’t have been a more perfect visit!

I had a great experience at Cohen’s optical starting with front desk who were very knowledgeable knew my benefits. The doctor was really great explained everything that I wanted to know (and I had a lot of questions). And the sales staff was very helpful and very patient took time with me explaining what looks good on me. And the last the technician that was great did my glasses in half hour. When I left the store I was very happy.

I LOVE THIS PLACE ! The doctor was so Thorough. There was a long wait time but now I understand why. Kimberly picked out the perfect glasses for me. She was very honest on what suited me. I purchased Lenses with Transitions and anti glare and I was not disappointed when I tried them on. Will be coming back for my yearly exam.

This store has great customer service, I bought glasses there, the girls on the sales side were very helpful and patient. explained to me everything that I needed to put on my lenses. Picked them 2 days later and I’m very happy with my glasses. Definitely telling all my friends and family about this place. Thank you cohens fashion optical for making it so easy.

This is by far the best place I’ve been too. I’ve been to 3 different places and nothing compares to this store, from examiners to doctors. Can’t forget the ladies that help pick out the glasses I always had problems with other stores but these ladies really know what you want great staff clean store can’t wait for my next visit 👍👍

Not sure what the point of making an appointment is if theyre going to make you wait 30 min+ anyways. Especially during pandemic time when they should be limiting how long customers are in the store for.Other than that, service is good. Doctor is very nice.

Doctor Gabriel Taub was great it was my first time getting tested for contacts. He was very friendly and very specific with instructions. Felt like I was in great hands. Don’t remember the name of the lady who trained me to put my contacts on but she was super great as well and helpful. Overall great atmosphere everything was clean and well put together. Will definitely be back and recommend to my friends and family !

Clean office im very satisfy when i go there every time, the girls are amazing they will help you find the right glasses. If i could give 10 stars i would i love coming here for exams and glasees, this store never disappoints me.

The staff at this store are amazing. I left my previous optical store because of their poor customer service and was not disappointed at Cohens. I have recommended this store to a few of my friendsand family.

Had an exam and purchased glasses at this location. I spent $319 in addition to what my vision insurance covered for them to mess up and input the wrong prescription and I been wearing the wrong glasses ever since. I’ve had headaches since. I’ve only wore the glasses because I spent money on them. It was only until another optometrist tested my eyes and the glasses and saw the possible mistake and reverse in numbers on the prescription. They are lazy, can’t be trusted and really shouldn’t be operating.

I bought a pair of sunglasses brand Ray band which is USD 249, after one month of usage, the glass began to fall out of the frame, so I went there to get it repaired, even though it continues to fall out.

Worst experience ever, extremely bad customer service. I VISITED COHENS FASHION OPTICAL AUGUST 23, 2020 FOR AN EYE EXAM AND CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION. THE STAFF TOLD ME I CAN ALWAYS RETURN THE UNOPENED BOX OF THE PRODUCT WHICH I DONT LIKE OR IF DOESNT SUIT ME. THATS HOW THEY GOT ME INTO PURCHASING A YEAR LONG SUPPLY OF CONTACT LENS WORTH $500, WHICH WAS WAY EXPENSIVE THAN IN ANY OTHER STORE $300 AFTER I CHECKED FROM OTHER STORES FOR THE SAME BRAND. THEY PLACED AN ONLINE ORDER FOR THE COLORED CONTACT LENSES (AIROPTIX THE ONLY BRAND THEY HAD). I HAD A TRIAL PAIR ON, WHICH GAVE ME SEVERE IRRITATION AND REDNESS. THE NEXT DAY, I WENT TO THE STORE SHOWED THEM THE CONDITION OF MY EYES AND CANCELED THE ORDER. THEY MISLEAD ME, NOW THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME A REFUND AND FORCING ME TO BUY SOMETHING WORTH $500 THAT I DONT NEED OR JUST FORGET ABOUT MY MONEY AS IT WILL BE A LOSS FOR THEM. WHAT ABOUT ME I AM AT A GREATER LOSS HERE. BOTH THE STAFF AND CUSTOMER CARE IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL.

They will never give out prescription. They are legally bound to but they say will email later. Horrible customer service later won’t send. Called so many times and they shamelessly keep saying emailing in 2 minutes. That 2 minutes has been days. And if you buy from them they charge more than double. Same item you can get in half the price from Costco or wholesale places. I would never ever go there and nor would I recommend anyone.

Great customer service, and fast. I’m originally from New Jersey and my contacts ripped, without an extra pair on hand and glasses with an older prescription, I was in desperate need of a spare set. I went in and they were able to accommodate me with not on a pair but at no charge. Highly recommend.

Awesome Staff and we are very happy customers! We went there without an appointment and the staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. The lady who handles the Insurance paperwork was very efficient and accommodating, we got our eyes checked, got to see the doctor who by the way was very patient and knowledgeable. The next step was picking out the frames and my Hubby and I can tend to be pretty picky, Mike made sure he went out of his way and drove to another affiliated store to pick up more variety of frames for us. This worked wonders as we picked one of the ones he brought back. Jerome was polite, respectful, and very helpful. Overall it was the best experience we had had dealing with Cohens locations. I am surprised at some of the negative posts about this location as I will totally recommend this place. :)

RIP OFF!!I was looking at a pair of sun glasses. Maui Jims, $439 for the frames. More than doubled any price I found online the night before. They wanted $260 for the lens. Total came to $700. Convenient how they come to a nice even number. I felt it was way over priced and I was getting ripped off. Walked across the street to a competitor, got the frames and lens much much less. I paid $135 for the lens where Cohens wanted almost double. I even got an itemized receipt showing the exact cost of each item. Cohens just throws a number at you. She told me she got the price from her manager when she 100% told me the price before speaking to the manager. I was even called crazy and told I dont know anything buy the saleswoman. Horrible customer service and experience. If you want to get ripped off, lied to and called crazy, head to Cohens!!STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Even though I didn’t have an appointment they welcome me and the Doctor is very nice and very professional and the staff very helpful and nice but I was there on August 14,19 for glasses and I’m still waiting for them. I’m hoping to get my glasses before this coming Saturday because school starts next week and need the glasses. Other than that it’s very nice

RAN AWAY FROM THERE!! Its a SCAM! I bought a pair of glasses(frame and lenses) with transition and anti-glare. I paid $500+ for a pair. I was hoping that I would be able to wear them for at least a few years but a FEW MONTHS LATER ANTI-GLARE FILM film started COMING OFF edges of the lenses (BAD CRAFTSMANSHIP!!). TRANSITION LENSES TURNING BROWN in LESS THAN 8 MONTHS - POOR QUALITY!! They cannot fix anything. They offered me to change 10 MONTHES OLD LENSES for the full price! Not in this life and not at that place!! People run away from Cohen Optical at Broadway Mall, Hicksville!!!! SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

It was an amazing experience coming to Cohens. Everyone was extremely welcoming. Anne, Tatiana, Sasha, Jerome and Dr. Taub helped me through every step. Whether it was from eye exam or choosing the perfect lenses for me! I am defiantly coming back to purchase my contact lenses and a back up frames!

Decided to give this place a second chance after I had a horrible experience a few years ago at a different location - my initial visit was great, the doctor was nice and the woman who helped me pick out my glasses was very helpful. However, I decided to have the glasses shipped to me since the store is far from my apartment, I was told it takes a couple days to prepare the glasses and then 3-5 days to ship them. It’s now been 2 weeks and I haven’t received anything. When I ordered them I was told someone would be calling to update me on when I would receive them - I haven’t received any such call. I’ve called the store twice and haven’t been able to find out when my glasses will arrive, I was told the person I needed to speak to was not available. I’m very frustrated and am regretting my decision to give them a second chance.

Very good place to get everything done. Staff is very responsive and generally is nice. Jerome in particular has always supported my son very well and we are very appreciative for everything he has done. Based on his personality, you can tell he treats everyone the same and is very efficient with what he does.

Do not purchase from this business. I had an eye exam on 3/18, I called them numerous times attempting to obtain my prescription they refused to send it. I needed eye glasses so I purchased from them on 10/26/2018, I cancelled the eye glass order shortly after I placed it, I was not feeling good about my purchase. I phoned the next day on 10/27/2018 to obtain the $500 credit back to my credit card since I had cancelled the order. I phoned numerous times and on several days, Sasha the manager i finally was able to reach her, she told me that they would not be refunding me the monies? She stated that my eyeglasses were already shipped out to me yet was unable to provide me with a tracking number or a carrier?? Buyer Beware this is not a good business to buy from, they are not reputable. I am now suing them for the $500 eyeglasses that were never sent or received and for damages. FYI the markup in huge on glasses they pay only dollars for the lens and most frames are way under $50! My brother is in the business in DC...shop around and negotiate, this shop is a rip off!!

I USUALLY GO TO COHENS LOCATED IN ROOSEVELT FIELD MALL BUT I DECIDED TO GIVE THE COHENS OF BROADWAY MALL TO GIVE IT A TRY SINCE MY BOYFRIEND WORKS AT THAT MALL. I WAS SCHEDULED FOR AN APPOINTMENT AT 4PM BUT WAS NOT SEEN UNTIL 5PM. THE WAITING TIME WAS RIDICULOUS, THE POINT OF SETTING UP AN APPOINTMENT IS TO NOT BE SITTING THERE WAITING TO BE SEEN. WHILE I WAS WAITING TO BE SEEN THE LADY HELPED ME PICK OUT FRAMES AND I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I WOULD LIKE MY GLASSES BY THURSDAY BECAUSE I WAS GOING AWAY FOR THE WEEKEND. I WAS SEEN ON TUESDAY. SHE SAID TO ME THAT IT WOULDNT BE A PROBLEM, THAT I COULD DEFINITELY HAVE THEM BY THURSDAY. I WENT TO PICK THEM UP THURSDAY AND THEY HAD SCRATCHES AND THE TRANSITION LENSES WERE NOT PUT ON RIGHT. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THEM READY BY MONDAY AND NOW ITS TUESDAY AND THEY ARE STILL NOT READY. THEY DIDNT EVEN CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT READY, MY BOYFRIEND HAD TO GO IN AND THEY SAID THEY WILL GIVE ME A CALL WHEN THEY ARE READY. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE AND THE LONG WAITING TIME. I WILL MOST LIKELY NOT RETURN TO THIS COHENS LOCATION. THE PRICE FOR THE GLASSES WAS RIDICULOUS AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN A KNOWN BRAND. I am giving one star here because cannot give anything less. Once they get you in the system, they make follow up appointment without your consent. Then they will text you saying you have an appointment with Dr. Taub on such and such, date and time. You reply back to the text where it originated from, you get a message back saying that Sorry we didnt understand your text message. The game is to make the appointment, if you dont show up they send you penalty fees for NO SHOW. Avoid this place at all cost.

My vision insurance coverage is up to $330 for the frame. They gave my son extremely cheap, not fit at all and easily bend for $330. So I asked different one, they gave him other frame with same problems. My vision also covers scratch protection of glasses, but the glasses are easily scratched. I do not recommend this store!!!

I did not like this place, I ordered lenses and contacts. They said it would be a week. My prescription is very high and I asked them if they were sure she said yes without hesitation. Then weeks started going by and I started calling and they would say not yet maybe next week.A month went by and nothing so i spoke to a manager, she told that it takes 3 weeks for my contacts and I referenced what the other employee previously stated shes said the employee was wrong. Contacts didn’t come for 5 weeks.I tried ordering glasses from them and the same lady who helped me first showed me a few that i didn’t like. She began to show some attitude as she continued to have to show others. I was maybe looking at the 6th pair at the moment. Then she pulled a pair from another case and acted as if she was doing something out of this world for me by doing so. Her attitude was completely horrendous I never went back again.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this horrible place. I paid for a contact fitting and waited 3 MONTHS to receive a trial pair. After waiting 3 months for my contacts it turns out they ordered the wrong prescription!!! This company’s service is disgusting and a huge waste of my time and my money. I paid money for a contact fitting and never received the right trial pair. There is a reason for all these bad reviews. Save your money, time, and sanity and take yourself to a better company with better reviews!!

The short version: they’re terrible and will try to rip you off. Please don’t go there. They wanted to charge me $250 for a 90 day supply of dailies. I googled the same contacts and they cost $80 on every online retail site. She said the owner sets the prices. They don’t return phone calls. They don’t know what they’re talking about. She said if I contacted Cohen’s Corporate, they wouldn’t be able to help me. Others have left similar reviews. Cohen’s, why is this store still a part of your franchise?

This store have a bunch of thieves and Im filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Dont go here for anything. The woman at the front desk assisted me with glasses than advised me that I can apply for care credit and once approve I will receive a bill. She said I needed to forms of Id a valid credit card and my drivers license to apply. I was approved and what she didnt state that a $50 will be charged to my credit card. How I found out shortly after o received an email stating a Company by the name of ACRIMA charged me$50. When. I returned back to the store the same woman got up and said we have a pick up which I wasnt there for a pick up because no one called stating It was ready. She immediately got up and left the store and didnt return. I will be taking this further.

Waited 1 1/2 hours for a scheduled appointment and was charged twice the amount for the Frames I picked out. Before settling on a frame, I suggest you search for them online to see how much you can get them for before being overcharged, wish I had used my waiting time more wisely. But besides the long wait time and being grotesquely overcharged they were fine.

Here for sisters appointment; and I’ll be canceling mine. Extremely unprofessional. Did tests we did not ask for. Assistants barely spoke at all and not welcoming. Waiting over an hour for scheduled appointment and then another hour for tests which take 20 minutes elsewhere.As we were leaving they started blasting music; I’m guessing due to them closing up. Will never came back to this one again.Assistant was on cell phone with car company while exam was taking place.Flabbergasted at these folks.

Staff is very unprofessional. Prices are extremely high Compared to the other stores. Avoid this place at all cost. Do not give out your medical insurance information for a simple eye test. It is not required. They will play all the tricks known to get the most out of you and your insurance. Like stated by other reviewers, save yourself TIME , MONEY and dealing with chaos. Im so surprised by the reviews, I dont know if this location got new staff but absolutely every employee I interacted with was incredibly helpful and kind from the doctor, to the person who helped me pick my frames and the person who made my lenses. Will return for sure.

Total ripp off! Went in to get glasses for my son who is 15 years old and 6 feet tall. We have insurance and get $300 towards frames. Once I told them the insurance she directed me to frames that would only fit a 5 year old child. When I told her that this was crazy she said We can pick any frame and get 300 towards them. We end up picking frames and I see they are marked $399. I still ask how much frames are. The person helping us takes them looks at the price takes the price tag out, tells this is the wrong price, goes to computer pretend to look at it and says there are $499. We just left!!

Jerome was an absolute delight, he is like a gentle giant, he has been serving me and my family for years, he goes above and beyond to keep us happy and always lets us know when they have deals and promotions going on, I feel part of a family when I walk inside cohens fashion optical. I visited here a few months ago and gave them my insurance information. They said my ins was all good and I can see the doctor. The front desk girl had a bit of an attitude I brushed it off as it was a Friday night. Now a few weeks ago I get a phone call from Cohens asking me for my medical ins and to give them all of my information (including my Social Security) I told the girl I dont feel comfortable in giving my Social out over the phone she got extremely rude and pushy for my Social. Beside the point of how unprofessional it is to ask for insurance months after the initial exam was done. I think I need to go for another exam soon but I will be avoiding this office like the plague because of how rudely I was treated over the phone.

What a terrible terrible experience. My husband purchased glasses and had an eye exam done. The saleswoman who helped us pick out a frame neglected to inform us that my husbands insurance isnt accepted at Cohens and that the frames had to be paid for 100% out of pocket. So we were under the understanding that the insurance was paying for 200 towards the purchase of frames and lenses and the saleswoman didnt tell us otherwise. We are fighting the charge and did not pick up the glasses, but we were told they dont give refunds. Liars... Dishonest... And Deceptive people.

Horrible experience! A group of ladies sit at the store front, who are not willing to take care of customers honestly. They lied to me about extra conditions of groupon and added more charges. they changed the price quotes thrice once even denying that i cant use my groupon! They were impolite and dint talk nicely. They even turned down two school boys who came to get their prescription frames fixed saying the technician wasnt around, when really she was and then made fun of the boys after they left! If you have another cohens near you youd rather want to go to that one! The optometrist was good and took time to explain eye exam results.

Had new prescription lenses placed on my old pair, said that I have to pay out of pocket then Ill just have to bill my insurance. Ended up that they said they claim the pair under my insurance. Parts for my glasses were also ordered, but keep on calling then, they just toss you back a d forth. Disappointing.

Made a contacts appointment and yet was forced to wait well over an hour to see the doctor. Contacts were no good, went back to fix the prescription and again forced to wait and wait and wait, still not a good prescription. Dor claiming I have to get used to it but the prescription still making me dizzy and not helping me see after a few days. very frustrated

Very very rude staff. Also they try to push you to sell the high price frames and by chance if you tell them its from insurance what covers they will show you five to six frames to choose thats it no more than that and if you want to choose more than pay out of your pockets.

There is no pricing list on the frames and charge as per their wish on lenses... She said $40 for the lens and $179 for frame(no price tag) with the same features(AV, AG..) and then charged $81 when I told I just need the lens not frame... cheat business, never recommend anyone to this Cohens .. If anyone has to visit, get the price quote and get the itemized bill.

The lady there is always so sweet and helpful. Very knowledgable and accommodating staff. Dr. Taub is a great optimologist and takes his time explaining things to me. He is extremely informative. Highly recommend.

Stay away! I spent $950.00 on bendable titanium glasses with progressive lenses. Four months later while cleaning them the bridge broke in half. Now I have nothing.

I would never go back to cohens located in the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.  The staff is not friendly there all uptight and super rude . I had gotten out of work around 5:00 when my appointment was at 5 so I decided to call to make sure if they would still take me I apologized and told the guy I really am on the way he was so happy and friendly and said dont worry about it . Once I got there the girls made me fill my forms out take my lens out then after making me wait a additional 20-30 mins they say oh doctor can’t see you your late . So I told them I was promised and told I would be or I wouldn’t come so apparently all of a sudden there was room for me to be seen . Doctor was very rude , he just wanted to get out of there he over corrected my eye 0.50 . When I told him I work at a office myself this docent seem okay to come done he was rolling his eyes but realized he was wrong didn’t apologize just covered it up by saying , last appointments are always in a rush . When the exam was done I was putting my lenses the doctor was already out looking for his check . Dr.T is the name .Horrific customer service, Moral of the story . If you want to be seen on time , even If you late GO TO A PRIVATE OFFICE , if you want the optometrist to give a damm GO TO A PRIVATE OFFICE , Just Rather pay 100 bucks somewhere where it matters than a place like this .
