I bought and financed my last car in Germany through Pen Fed back in 1998. I was looking forward to having the same experience again. Even though my income is not what it used to be, now that Im retired, I still received the respect and consideration a customer should get. I have kept a good credit history and my credit score is excellent, so that helped. I am very pleased with PenFed not just for the approval of my car loan but also the day to day service I get with my banking needs. Thank you

First - the negative is the 2 waiting lines with 30+ people waiting. I stood 30 minutes and the longer line had to be an hour. Only 2 tellers for my line. I say there should be 4+ for my line and More for the other. My 2nd time here and same issue.Second --- There is no sign, so just park FREE in the last entrance into San Patrio Plaza. Then change your google maps to walking. No sign (or need to be visible) , but open the door.3rd - Once with a teller you get 100% patient service. Staff is great, management needs to address issues they should see on their own.
Be prepare to wait standing 3 hours in San Patricio branch to get into the institution. No priority is given to older people. Regarding the transaction, the attention from the teller and official was great.

Denied a loan with a 750 credit score and it shaved -12 Points off my score. They Pre-Approved me only to waste my time in person.

If youre looking forward to standing in line for 3hrs, having employees tend to the people who arrived after you did first, and then providing rude service (at best) as if they were doing you a favor, then PenFed Guaynabo is your place! Do yourself a favor, go to Banco Popular, and pay the additional 1% interest; it is money well spent. This branch is in dire need of intensive customer service training. While I wrote this review a lady from Patillas was turned away by the security guard sitting and browsing Facebook bc the line was closed. For shame...

I have been a member of PenFed for a few years now and the experience has been excellent.
Open account with $5K but no Visa because dont take a credit in the last years, no options to freeze part of the deposit to guarantee the Visa. I close the accounts. And open in other Bank. Zero customer support.

A horrible experience. The don`t help us correctly, they treat us very bad, we get the loan and everything, but the good service was to wish for. Not even a smile on us. The personal in the bank was loud , making jokes and laugh like they was on school lunch time, i went 3 days in a row and the 3 days was the same.they have to learn to treat costumers like so and no like some who one who wants to make there day a mess.

Worst mortgage experience of my life. Irresponsible beyond belief. Process fraught with errors and misleading information. The bank is simply I’ll equipped. Go with any other bank, but PenFed for your mortgage needs.
I needed a car loan, and heard that PenFed had the best (lowest) interest rates. I was told by my co-workers that I should be prepared to wait for 2-3 hours. But I got there, stood in line for about 25 minutes. Then sat in the waiting area for about 25 minutes. Then I was brought to an agent who was very nice and helpful, Keish Denaro. The process was quick and easy. I had already applied online, and I had my work pay stubs and the purchase order for the car, so it went pretty smoothly. I was pleased with the experience.

I just to trying to join Penfed and you guys made a mortgage hard inquiry before answer me? Is that normal?
When the other day waiting period was 3 hours + just was told to go wait at the seating area, seat that by the way look really beat-up. No one called or said anything when ask they just said to wait or to come another day earlier. I try by phone but still was recommended to go to the bank, All I was gonna do was take some paper for a loan that by the way paid $29 and got denied because I have 2 credit card (that I dont have a balance on them, never have I miss a payment and always pay in full ) and they according to their chart have determined that I have a compromised income. But they do have a low APR% compare to banks here.
Only waited about half an hour but had done everything online for personal loan but recomend parking in one just before building that gives three hours of free parking or you can use the bank one which is the next right after said parking but they only give one hour free

Worst banking institution. Opened account while overseas to find out that I do not indeed have a checking account. They had no problem holding my money however and because they would not transfer it back to my account I had to fly to Puerto Rico (closest island with a location) just to pull my money out. Shameful, if you misrespresent your services then provide a solution. A client should never have to fly islands to get their money that you wrongly held.

Previously, Pen Fed had a phone at the San Patricio branch. What happened that they removed it? Efficient customer service is necessary and calling that general phone number is torture. They never respond.

I have left my number to be contacted for refinancing and they never answer me. They tell you 24 to 48 hours and Ive been waiting for two weeks. Local numbers in PR do not exist. Spanish speaking staff never show up and are never available. In customer service they give you just the same mortgage number where they leave directly from the United States and you fall into the cycle of leaving the information and no one answering. It really is a nightmare.

Getting service is terrible, no matter what time you go, it is always packed and with exaggerated lines. They do not have a direct telephone in the branch, they always answer you from the United States and the PR staff is never accessible.

I went once to see if I could take a car loan and they denied it after they made me open an account with them. Overall I went to a different bank and they approved it without problems. Now in 2021 I will try again. But if the same thing happens I will have to close the account. I hope they accept it or lose another client.
