Im unsure how to put this. My son and I went for separate massages. He got a female and said she was alright, we paid for deep tissue but says it was more regular.My experience was very different. I has a man and it got weird. I fully disrobed, as I always do. I have had many massages, by both men and women, but I had to stop him, when he climbed on the bed with me and put my leg and his shoulder.It really shook me. This happened several weeks ago, so I have thought it over before I posted this. I never had myself spread out like that for a massage. It was uncomfortable. I paid and left. He did not touch me in anyway that I felt was bad, but he should of warned me about him getting on the table with me.

I hadnt had a massage for quite some time. I went to Alicia, she was very knowledge about the muscle groups, had good even pressure, and set a wonderful mood for a calm atmosphere. She was very patient and answered my questions. The oil she uses isnt over bearing with a scent nor does it leave an oily film. She provides a wonderful service and I think getting a massage will become a regular thing for me.

I canceled an appointment here due to an emergent situation.I called to speak with the owner and the desk person disconnected the phone call, hanging up on me several times after requesting to speak with the owner (I added screenshots before I gave up on calling). This business lacks compassion and understanding. This business lacks professionalism. I will everyone to know my experience with this place. Do not go here. I was harassed in text messages for days after the missed appointment. She called me 50 times in the days following the missed appointment. She stated that I did not mention a family emergency as my cancellation reason and that it didn’t deserve compassion. Well. I did tell her that and she continued to harass me and take money from my bank account. I had to have my bank rectify charges due to this business trying to get money from my account for two months. Don’t go through this with this place.LaVida Massage is way better, after canceling an appointment that was made at this place for a family member the same day, due to an emergent situation, LaVida Massage resolved all issues by rescheduling my appointment and showing compassion. As for East Carolina Massage, I still have not been able to speak with the owner of this facility, after this unexceptional display of customer care. Do not be fooled by the reviews of the chosen few. There’s a reason for ratings that are actually low.Added: In my screenshots, it clearly shows what I’ve stated prior. You all still came back and took $5 this morning, 2 months later. There’s no need to lie about a personal experience with a company. My new card will be here today, keep your $5, I hope it helps, Alicia to sleep better at night.

I have been going here for a couple of months now. I absolutely love it and Sara Doyle. Less expensive than the chains and better service. Easier to book online because they rarely answer the phone due to being with clients.

I have never left a massage more tense, disappointed, and angry as I did tonight. While my massage therapist is amazing, I will sadly never darken the doorway of this establishment again. As a 47 year old man, I do not expect to be, nor will I be spoken to like a naughty 6 year old. At what I assume to be approximately 60 minutes into my $80.00 plus tip 90 minute massage the silence was broken by a very abrupt and stern toned voice asking if I had a mask and that I needed to put it on. This statement was followed up with by the kicker statement... I will not ask you to do so again. My mask was by my chin and ready to go on when I flipped over as not to breath directly in your face. As a healthcare professional I certainly understand the importance of mask wear and promote it daily. Here is the deal, if you have expectations you need to put up signage, have a conversation PRIOR TO the client appointment, and perhaps MOST importantly change the verbiage on your website that I have copied and pasted below...Therapists will be required to wear a mask when interacting with AND while massaging clients. It is encouraged that clients do as well, but this is not required.For the last 30 minutes of my massage it was all i could do not to stop it and leave. Thank you for ruining my evening and wasting my money. In the future I ask that you work on your customer service skills and maintain compliance with your own written rules.Thank you for your time and attention to this and I wish you much luck with your future endeavors.

Terrible customer service, doesn’t care about the client at all just your money. Scheduled appointment a couple of hours prior to the appointment and accidentally selected wrong time which conflicted with work schedule. Called with no answer. Finally got ahold calling again, right about the end of when my appointment was scheduled for, and was answered with a very cold “too bad so sad” tone & the only attempt of resolution was trying to get me to book & pay for another appointment.I understand the argument that it could be taking a time slot from another client but when there’s multiple availabilities & it was booked a couple of hours prior of the appointment, you’d think they would try to work with you to figure it out. I’m fine with losing one appointments fee to save myself from paying for multiple appointments in the future, realizing they have no care for their clients.

I absolutely love Renee at East Carolina Massage! I have experienced chronic back spasms and back pain for years and I’ve tried physical therapy, chiropractors and anything you can name. Since starting to go see Renee, I have had so much relief!!! I used to have to use biofreeze daily to manage my back pain, but I haven’t used it in months!! Ive been seen by Ben twice at East Carolina Massage and it is always an incredible experience. He is an intuitive masseuse who has an excellent handle on his trade. He made sure to ask what I was looking for out of the experience, what my pain tolerance was like that day, etc. The rooms are beautiful and atmospheric, prices are the best in town, as far as I know. Highly recommend!

My Gem:The facility is calm and welcoming. Staff was nice and informative. It was my fiancé and I first time here. We both long overdue for massages. Julia Carter was my theripist and did a great job. Her touch was very intuitive finding and working on trouble areas.As far as the practice goes, the therapy rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only criticism is that the tables could be a bit better padded and are a bit small for a larger person.As far as the price goes, $40 for 60 min, $60 for 90 min, I mean you cant beat it for a good quality massage. For that price I was definitely expecting less!Overall it was a great experience and I will be back.

I have been coming here for a while now but the prices are going up, they are shortening the time of actual massage and also and you have to pay automatic gratutity 20%, so your not saving any money at all, The massage is no better than any other place and with the prices I will go back to one of the chain massage place where I atleast get my full hour and excellent customer service

Was my very first time here and it was ehhhh. Cheap but ehh. Ive gotten massages before and been into spas. This was my very first time here and I was getting my very first facial. When I arrived there was no one at the reception desk to help (understandable to keep costs low but seems a little unorganized bc how would you know someone is there to check in?).I arrived early to fill out paperwork (thats standard when youre new to a place) and speak to the esthetician doing my facial. I waited around 10 mins before anyone even came to the front and which took me 10 mins to fill out paper work. Even after filling out paperwork, I felt like there was really no clear communication especially it being my very first facial. More so like oh okay, itll go really well, nothing really addressing my concerns for my skin or what products were being used.My appointment was at 12 and I scheduled a 60 mins facial. I was done by 1:00 (however, like I said above, it took me time to fill out paperwork bc no one was at the front desk 15 mins before my appointment to walk me through it so my session could start on time.) During my appointment, my estheticians phone kept vibrating. Its my first facial, Im trying to relax since Im already anxious about it. Kind of hard to focus on my breathing when all I hear is vibrating cell phone. I understand that it was for personal reasons, but youre in a line of work to promote relaxation and a quiet environment. During my extractions, the instrument slipped into my nose twice......could you imagine? Then there was no arms, hands, and neck massage but it was suppose to be included in the 60-min facial.I have another appointment scheduled next week for a massage and Im almost tempted to cancel it. Overall, the service was okay. My skin felt fine and soft after but honestly, I felt like I couldve done it at home myself like I usually do. I guess my expectations were a little higher since Ive heard a lot of great things.

I have booked 2 massages within the last month and both massage therapists have cancelled! It is Saturday night and I am just receiving an email notification now that my tomorrow massage is cancelled again. Both were with two different therapists. Too bad I cant even write a review of the actual service!
