When I called for an appointment I could not be seen for 2 weeks because I was a new patient and they had certain time slots to allow enough time to establish initial care. By the time I finally got in to see the doctor I had 2 health concerns on top of my general issues which including migraine headaches. When asked what medications I was on I presented a list...the nurse said she was not going to write them down in my chart because the Dr would want to discuss them. I discussed them with the doctor (who said he did not understand why they were not in my chart) and he said there was nothing else he knew of to try so stick with my current medications. I asked for refills he said there were a few left so just have pharmacy send them to him when I needed refills. So now that I need refills the Dr will not refill them until I am seen for an appointment to establish initial care and discuss the medications I am on?!?!?!?! I already did that they even put me off for 2 weeks to place me in the slot for new patients! So is this a money grab for another appointment and my medication is my ransom? In addition to the pharmaceutical problem, during the visit when I was trying to establish initial care and discuss my medical issues the Doctor said that we where out of time my 15 minutes were up and then left the room and said a nurse would be with me shortly to get a sample for lab work. Nearly 10 minutes later the Dr came back and said he could not find anyone to help me and sent me down the hall for the sample. During my visit I saw at least 3 sales persons interacting with the staff and giving samples and bringing snacks etc....perhaps that is why they were to busy to help their patients. Now I have to call my insurance to change primary care physician because due to an HMO I have to change my PCP through my insurance to be able to see a different doctor. Then wait for an appointment with them. Fortunately for me the blood pressure meds I am on that are being held for ransom are for migraines and arent a life and death kind of thing!! I feel bad or anyone else who tries the doctor and ends up not getting the medications they need to survive!!!
