I have been seeing Jennifer Hammond for almost a year now. After being shuffled from doctor to doctor for many years, for the first time I really feel I have found a provider that listens and offers good feedback. She has put me on a treatment plan for my symptoms and for the first time in many years I am getting relief for severe joint pain and fatigue. I am so impressed with her and the entire office staff. Everyone is friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Jennifer or this practice.

I had my first appointment yesterday with Jennifer Hammond, their PA. She was so thorough and patient. She asked pertinent questions and gave educated opinions. Jennifer made it very clear that, today, she was doing an investigation of all my symptoms, and there were many. She examined my joints for stiffness, tenderness, and heat, but she did so gently. She gave me plenty of time to ask questions. After her exam, she sent me for x-rays and to the lab for blood tests.Id like to quickly mention the x-ray technician. Sometimes they can be so rough on extremely sore joints. She didnt try to manipulate my body, she requested that I put my hands on the table and flatten them as much as possible. She was efficient and painless while x-raying my back, pelvis, and left sciatic joint. The lady in the lab listened carefully to my advise on drawing blood from me. She made painless contact on the first stab. If I hadnt seen the blood flow myself, I wouldnt have realized that we were moving along. Also, NO big bruise today!

I recently had my first visit at CAC with Jennifer and I cant say enough good things about her and the staff. She came in a greeted me so kind and friendly. She ask me lots of questions about what was going on and how long. She took her time looking over my areas of concern and explaining everything we needed to do to begin the journey of addressing my issues. Which I havent had no PCP help or listen to my concerns in years and even switched my PCP recently.Thank you Jennifer for patiently listening to my concerns and understanding of my Anxiety issues as well.So nice to still see there are still some caring providers out there these days.Thank to all at CAC! I look forward to working with you in the future.

Dr. Oglesby is my doctor. He has hoped me a great deal. I use to hold there to Dr. Harmon who did nothing for me.

I have been a patient at Carolina Arthritis Center for many years. I have never had a negative experience with anyone here. The doctors I have seen have all been compassionate, kind and knowledgeable when it comes to interacting with me and finding the best medication to help me. Along with the front office staff, the individual doctors’ nurses are always so happy and friendly. I am completely satisfied with the treatment I have received here. Thank you!

I have had a major flare up and havent walked since March 1 2018 and been to them and they havent done anything I have called them and the nurse says they cant do anything. I am taking methotrexate and plaquinel for 5 years. The Dr hasnt checked or suggested anything. I really dont know where to turn to. I found them to be uncaring and nonchalant attitude towards me. But where ready to get paid every time

This company came highly recommended by my employer so when my PCP said they were sending my referral here I was pleased. Two weeks after referral was sent there wasnt a response so I contacted my PCP referral specialist. After speaking with CAC it was stated that due to me not having medical insurance after June 1st they are not able to see me. My first question was why? The answer, they dont take self pay patients. Im not one to dispute company policy but did wonder if I could be seen up until the insurance was invalid. Of course the reply was no. I was honest about my insurance situation and they still denied care. So they would rather I go without treatment then to help, that was problem one. Problem two was I was never contacted. Thats there policy but no one bothered to call myself nor my PCP to tell me this. If it was not for my call I would still be waiting. They dont seem to be about patient care. At this moment I have insurance so why not help while you can but not CAC they would rather I suffer without treatment then to lend a hand while they are able to.In response to owner...insurance situation has/did change. It changed the day before I called my PCP. Due to the neglect on CAC behalf by letting my referral sit idle and not contacting me to say I could not be seen there. CAC is my PCPs first choice so I MAY reconsider. I just do not appreciate how this was handled. I truly thank you for responding doing though.

UPDATED!! on Follow up visit.I have degenerative arthritis in 5 different joints, I recently had an operation for arthritis related damage to a joint. I have been seeing a Rheumatologist for the last 5 years in Pennsylvania. Well I recently moved to North Carolina and first off the medical care here is lacking just like most the schools are. I originally called CAC to schedule an appointment as a cash paying customer and they told me they only take patients with insurance. I told them I would give them a $500 credit on my account that my insurance did not kick in yet due to my move from PA to NC. They declined. So I waited an additional 6 weeks until my insurance started up and called back again. I made an appointment, I had my appointment today and had to pay for more labs and more xrays even though I am sure that my other doctor from PA would have provided at least the info they needed in the short term. I gave $150 cash for these tests and the xrays. I asked them if they could just get the documents from my doctor and they said that they run their own tests. Um....ok. So the doctor comes in (who I will not name he was very nice and professional and I do not think he is the problem) and asks me all the questions about my medications and so forth. I said I still had refills from my doctor in PA for most of my meds besides the one I use for pain relief. It is the lowest mg pain relief pill 5/325. He shook his head and said they do not do that there that I would have to go to my primary care doctor for pain relief. He said people in the past were not taking their meds as prescribed. This is an arthritis center for crying out loud and they cannot help you with pain relief. He said the entire practice does not prescribe pain relieving agents. So I already paid my money for labs and xrays and there is nothing they can do for you. Evidently they do the labs in house so it looks like there could be some financial incentive for the labs they did, also they would not accept me as a cash customer which is strange, it will be interesting to read the itemized bill they submitted to my insurance. Bottom line dont go here, I will go and view my xrays and my labs and then switch to another doctor. If you are prescribing legally within your scope of practice there is no reason to deny people medication that need it. To have a blanket statement that no meds get prescribed from your office to anyone is wrong and hurtful to people that need it most. And if this is your policy it should be posted here, on your website and on the door.Update 5-17-18 I had my follow up appointment today. First off 2.5 weeks after my first appointment I received an unsolicited letter in the mail from a hearing aid outfit in Washington NC. Now the only place that I have gone for any medical care or left my name and information was this doctors office. Being an arthritis center the stereotypical person going here might be in need of hearing aid services I do not fit the demographics. I called the hearing aid center and asked how they acquired my information. The woman told me its from Accudata, Well Accudata also makes online portals for your doctors and nurses to input your information. I do not think I am stretching the facts here that my information was gathered and sold.I checked the CAC privacy policy and on the documents it states that you agree to allow them to use your information for marketing. I did not sign this paper.Just now I checked the portal and I found that my login was actually deleted and I can not check my own information. I had information in my file that was incorrect. And when I confronted Dr. Robert Oglesby the previously unnamed DR he said he would fix it but only after a few months of not taking my medication which I have not taken since December. He also told me that I needed a primary care doctor because it was a government requirement. A government requirement? I have blue cross bcbs insurance? Run away from this place, something is not right.I was ready with the facts when I went into the office today,
