I am almost 38 weeks pregnant, and i haven’t been super impressed with Greenville midwifery. Until my last visit i hadn’t been too crazy about any midwives I’ve seen. Except my last visit, Susan was amazing. She went over and beyond to make sure i was taken care of and happy with my my visit. She was very genuine. I hope she is on call when i go into labor!! They have some good midwives, some not so much but Susan really stood out to me!

I cant recommend Greenville Midwifery enough. Would send anyone looking here for prenatal and l&d care. I had a wonderful experience for prenatal care as well as the delivery of my second daughter. The midwives are kind and are willing to answer any questions you have. Maureen was the midwife on call for the delivery and was absolutely amazing and patient. She made me and my husband feel very comfortable and capable, answered all of our questions, and coached me through every step of the delivery and recovery. Will definitely continue to use them for gyn care and ob care if we have another!

I have been going to Greenville Midwifery Care for two years now. Dr. Flowers has taken care of me for my gynecological needs with absolute kindness and care. Ive never had a bad experience there, in fact, they take such amazing care of me each and every appointment. I also want to give a shout out to their nurse, Lisa, as she has been so sweet and caring for me especially this past month after having so many issues with UTIs and yeast. She and the doctors have been doing their absolute best with me, and I could not be more thankful. They have such an amazing and loving staff, and Im so grateful that I get to walk in there and feel like a part of the family. Kudos to the best group of women around!

My pregnancy and delivery were so beautiful, and the midwifery was a huge part of that. The midwives, as well as the nurses and staff at Greenville Memorial, were such a great support to me and my husband. The midwives never made me feel like I was a bother, I felt like I could call anytime I needed. But they also gave me a lot of valuable information that helped me kind of troubleshoot the craziness of pregnancy without freaking out about too many things. Highly recommend!

This place is truly amazing...... The midwives the nurses the entire staff. Everyone so sweet and caring. I went here after having medical intervention with my first child. This group have a great thing going for women who want the best for their little ones and they take the time to go the extra mile for you. I had a pretty much surprise delivery with my baby. He came very quickly and I didnt make it to a room. He was delivered in the foyer but the midwife on call and the nurse did everything to make me comfortable. The care I received was incredible and the least I can do is give them a glitter review. I was truly grateful for all they did for me. I just wish they also did womens care without being pregnant. The best crew out there .Also the birthing center is very lovely. The rooms are all very homey and very well equipped for your delivery. I live this place and will definitely be back if I ever get pregnant again.. Keep up the good work and great care.

We had a fabulous experience. I looked forward to every visit, now that our little man is here Ill miss seeing them so often. Each team member went the extra mile in giving us excellent care from the front desk, billing department, nurses & midwives. Very thankful to have this practice available. They accommodated to our preferences and wishes for our pregnancy & child and gave good advice for topics and questions that arose. Our labor and delivery was tough, but with the help of a great team we were able to deliver at the birth center just as we had hoped!

My experience with the ladies at Greenville Midwifery was amazing. From start to finish they educated me, encouraged me, and respected me. I loved my treatment all through my pregnancy- there were some minor scares in the start and these women handled it all perfectly. Once I went into labor they allowed my family to be in the waiting room as well as the room, no questions asked. My delivery did not go as planned, I was one of the few who got to see first hand how quickly these super women (oops, I mean midwives) will transport you to the hospital. Sam had me in a car and in a room faster than my husband could even get our car on the road. They held my hand through it all, every step was explained, and they cheered me on until my beautiful daughter was finally born. I strongly suggest this birth center to anyone and every one. I love you ladies so much.

The receptionists and midwives at Greenville Midwifery have treated my wife with great care for two pregnancies now. They even offer an additional birth plan option by using their birthing center nearby. The office, hospital and birthing center locations are good and we are definitely happy with our choice to go with Greenville Midwifery Care for our pre natal care for our babies.

I loved my experience with Greenville Midwifery! I had the exact birth experience I wanted and they always went above and beyond for me. All the ladies are incredibly friendly and supportive, I rarely had to wait long periods of time to get checked in and placed in a room (I was usually in and out of my appointment within 45 minutes), and they seem very knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning for my next pregnancy and would HIGHLY recommend giving them a try!

Highly recommend this practice. They establish wonderful rapport with their patients, are truly invested in providing a memorable pregnancy and birthing experience, and have their patients best interest at heart. The birthing suites downstairs are amazing. They are well furnished, clean, comfortable, and relaxing.

I like how personable everyone is, even at the front desk they make a point to remember you and make you feel important. There is a cool little play area for your children. Midwives are kind and thorough and I would recommend!

Keep in mind that because they are part of the hospital system, there is a shift change, so the midwife and nurse will change. Also, in spite of their claim that: Involvement of a womans designated family members, to the extent desired, in all health care experiences, they wouldn’t tell us anything—we had been waiting in the waiting room all night. So we were pretty shocked when they suddenly decided to transfer our daughter to the hospital for an epidural in the morning!

1. This is a midwifery group of 6-7 midwives. Some of them are good, knowledgeable and caring, others not at all. And you will not know who will be attending your delivery.2. Orientation they provide is misleading in a way that they talk about natural, while in fact before they allow you to deliver naturally you will have to pass their more than medical pre-natal care. And if you decline a procedure the answer you get will be: If you do not follow what we say, then we can no longer treat you as our patient3. Some of the nurses and midwives have real attitude and talk down to you, with little respect and consideration for how sensitive (due to hormones) pregnant women are.In a sum, I was hoping for a happy and relaxed pregnancy, instead every visit at midwifery made me stressed and anxious. So they rejecting me as a patient, because I was insisting on a natural care was actually the best thing they have done for me. Although it was late in pregnancy, I switched to a regular Ob/gyn and delivered at Memorial hospital. It was far from natural, but at least all the doctors and nurses there were very polite, professional, respectful and considered.

I’m a first time mom-I’ll start by saying I adored everyone at the Greenville Midwifery & Care Center. It made me feel pretty confident, heard & understood during my pregnancy. Going into labor for the first time you don’t want to be scared-I was excited! I arrived at the hospital at 5cm. We didn’t see the one CNM for a very long time. She popped in to greet us before being pulled in a different direction-she was apologetic, but being that I had never done this before...I couldn’t help but wonder why she was the only one there, and had to be stretched so thin? Not her fault, but definitely NOT at all one on one care. Instead I had 3 nurses hooking me up to things. One nurse in particular was impatient as I asked her to wait through my contraction to stick me with the IV. I felt lost & unsupported. I stayed between 5 & 6cm for HOURS. The CNM comes in, insists on sweeping my membrane(partially intact I guess?) & nothing progresses. She leaves quickly. Not very much emotional support or coaching, more of just a pushy attitude & eager to leave the room. I felt embarrassed to be where I was. I felt relieved when the shift changed. I still felt like the CNM wanted to be somewhere else. Maybe I misunderstood & they try to handle multiple births at a time. Either way, she did offer me support, but ultimately I just felt like I was bothering everyone. My labor wouldn’t progress. She helped me work through different options & we tried all of them. I was appreciative of the way she handled everything. She did her best to present options, but never made me feel forced into anything. After realizing a cesarean was the best option, I finally felt relief wash over me. I was just ready to be done and I would easily elect for a cesarean in the future. The doctor who performed the cesarean said my baby was sunny side up & my uterus is dented, which could have made a natural labor very difficult. The CNM on duty stayed with us through the surgery & answered all of the questions we had. The medical staff at GHS was very informative & I wouldn’t hesitate to have them deliver my next. The epidural & cesarean was the best part of my entire birth experience, aside from meeting my sweet baby.

Susan is amazing and listens to your concerns. Some of the others and their nurses dont take you seriously when you complain about symptoms. They treat you as though you are whining dont offer any care.Pains and ailments are just a part of pregnancy is the way I have felt versus OB treatment;they actually listened and rendered solutions. If I hadnt waited so long I would have gone back to Greer OBGYN.

They told me the entire time that my baby was head down, but in fact he was breech the entire time. Had to have a c-section instead. Disappointed as I really did like the practice at first. Also, every time I went without my husband, the financial girl would talk down to me about my balance and act as if I were a five year old. Not super impressed, which is a shame as I had heard so many good things about them...

This is my second time to use Greenville Midwifery. The first time was a good experience. Even though I felt that they were not as knowledgeable as the midwife I used before at a stand alone birth center, I appreciated how they treated me with respect and deference. I had to leave my original midwife because my insurance would no longer recognize a stand alone birth center. Greenville Midwifery seemed like a good option. But Ive been increasingly disappointed with GMC this time. They frequently get my information mixed up. They tell me Im meeting with one midwife but send me someone else. They tell me Ive never met one particular midwife but Ive seen her multiple times. I get different answers and information almost every time I visit. There is a lack of consistency in their information. But most disturbing this time are some of the new midwives. Two times now two different midwives have pressured me to use a medication that I thought was dangerous for my baby. I am not anti medication, but Im very cautious about what I take while pregnant. I have been very uncomfortable at several appointments. I have also been disappointed with the experience of some of the midwives. Some seem to be very inexperienced (based on the answers they give to my questions) and are basically midwives in name only. Their mentality is no different than traditional medical practice and intervention. The long and short of it is that I feel as pressured and uncomfortable as I did when I used a traditional OBGYN with my first baby. But this is the only midwife practice my companys insurance will recognize. Im very disappointed right now and wish I had another option with my insurance.

The level of care I received was great during my prenatal experience with them! Unfortunately I didn’t get the hands on, one on one informative care during labor and delivery I had been expecting. I only saw the midwife on call a total of 3 times during labor and delivery and maybe 3 pushes before an OB took over and then I didn’t see anyone from the miwifery team until the next day. At discharge she was distant and business only. I saw all the OBs that were present at my birth shortly after going to recovery room and every day sometimes twice a day while I was admitted. I also had the nicu doctor who was in the room come check on me the next day as well as all the delivery nurses that assisted stop by. All had more compassion and attentiveness than the midwives that I had in the hospital. I had a very very hard recovery (still not healed 5 months postpartum and having to have reparative surgery.) After being switched over to the OB, I have never heard from the midwifery team again, not a follow up call to check in, no postpartum appointment, nothing after they referred me to Piedmont.

I had my son with these ladies, and am pregnant with my second right now and currently seeing them. I wish I could see them all the time, because they are more on top of all of my health issues than my primary care Dr!! If it werent for JoAnn (who is no longer with the practice) I would have ended up in a C section the first go around. I couldnt ask for better caretakers than GMC!!

I delivered two of my babies here 10 years apart. Both times were fantastic experiences and I always recommend them. Only four stars because I went into labor having only met the midwife who delivered me once and by the time I gave birth there were two other midwives that I had not seen at all. I feel like they need to be better about making sure you see everyone More than once.
