I had an ACL reconstruction in May 2017. At my consult I was told I would receive a nerve block before my surgery so that when I got out the pain wouldnt be that bad. Well, that didnt happen. I woke up in a considerable amount of pain and it took more than 30 minutes to actually get the nerve block. Then, the bill arrives. My portion is about $400 after my insurance. I am a student and I cant afford to pay all at once so I make $20-30/month payments. My mom had to have surgery in December so I went to Florida to help her out for a little over a month. I did not think to make payments while I was gone and they sent me to collections! No phone call or even a notice that I can find now that I am back. I just got the notice from the collections agency. That is poor practice.
