I was referred to BloomHearing Aid Center by AARP and told that I would receive a 20% AARP discount and an additional $100.00 discount. I arrived at my appointment expecting to receive a no charge hearing test and a discounted price for the in canal hearing aids. I explained that I wanted an In Ear Canal hearing aid and was told that the type of hearing aids were determined by the hearing test, not by my choice. I was seated in front of a computer screen displaying hearing aid samples and was told that the in canal hearing aids were not appropriate for me; I should buy a behind the ear hearing aid; this “sales Pitch” occurred within ten minutes of being told that a hearing test would determine the type of hearing aids that is appropriate for my hearing loss. I asked about my hearing test and I was told that the hearing test would be conducted if I committed to purchasing the hearing aids. I asked about financing the hearing aids through Synchrony Care Credit and after applying for the financing on her computer, I was quoted a 24% finance charge and again reminded that I did not qualify for the promised 20% discount.I left Bloom’s Hearing Aid Center and on my way home I made a spur of the moment decision and walked into Twin City Hearing Aid Center. I was welcomed by Kennith Hill the owner of Twin City Hearing Aid Center and after a short discussion of my desire to purchase in the canal hearing aids it was suggested that I make a hearing aid hearing test appointment... the test would be administered without a commitment to purchase hearing aidsI returned two days later for my hearing test, the test was administered and the results were that I was a candidate to wear the in canal hearing aids; additional I was told that I had 45 days to wear my new hearing aids and if they were not comfortable, I’d have the opportunity to exchange the set for another type of hearing aidsI chose the type of in canal hearing aids that was determined to be my best fit and then it was the financing that was discussed, I again applied for a Synchrony Care Credit Loan in the office and by a special prior arrangement between Synchrony Bank and Twin City Hearing Aid Center, I qualified for a ZERO % 24 month payment plan.I am so glad that I did not succumb to Bloom’s Hearing Aid Sales Pitch and found Twin City Hearing Aid as my hearing aid provider where I was able to purchase the type of hearing aids that I wanted at a zero % finance charge

As the provider for Bloom Hearing Aid Center and a Mother of multiple Children with Hearing loss, I can honestly say that I enjoy caring for each and every patient as if they are family. I recommend anyone to come in to the Grass Valley Location and see for yourself.

November 19, 2015I was given a hearing test of which the results were 35% hearing loss. I was then taken to another room with a “closer” who tried his damndest to sign me up. He set me up with hearing aids that were computer tuned. Just before he placed them in my ears I scratched my pants with my thumb nail. After placing and tuning these hearing aids I again scratched my pants and guess what? NO difference. He indicated that I might not tell the difference. He also explained that the $745 hearing aids would not let me hear any better plus way too much background noise. I asked him whether or not my insurance, Medicare and Medi-Cal would cover and he said NO. He then set up a payment plan for 18 payments a year with 9.9% interest calculating and adding the interest. My take on that was that I would commit to the hearing aid total plus the interest from the onset. I think the interest rate charged is to keep it from being usury.I then made an appointment with Gold Country Hearing, also in Grass Valley and was seen by a doctor. She tested my hearing and told me my loss was at 13% (a far cry less than McDonald at 35%. She said at this time I do NOT need hearing aids as they wouldn’t really make a difference (note comment above). She also indicated that when and if my hearing loss gets to 35%, that my insurance WOULD cover the hearing aids.
