I was referred to Dr Henne by a colleague of his that said he was the BEST tendon ligament specialist in the business,very smart,and had a GREAT personality.All of that turned out to be very accurate I had three out of 4 tendons detached and with a surgery that had a high rate of failure,Dr Henne took me on and with PT, I will have a functional leg and be walking again like before my fall. Dr Henne is very talented and skilled and does care about his patients. The only thing I was disappointed that Dr Henne did not stop in to talk to me at the hospital the day after surgery, TOAM could do a better job with their. Phone system so you dis not have to call three times just to get an appointment time changed and if you want a questioned answer by the doctor,you have to talk to the nurse ,you cant speak to the doctor yourself unless you make an appointment.

I love having a sports med doctor tending to my issues. I still am very active in sports and don’t want to be on the disabled list for long. Dr. Henne repaired my ACL in 2005 and it’s still as strong as ever 15 years later! He is a surgeon and loves what he does, but won’t put you under the knife if it’s not necessary. I recommend him to all my athletic friends in need for orthopedic care!

Was very pleased with Dr. Hennes optimistic outlook for my grim knee situation! In need of a replacement but not quite ready yet mentally. So he proceeded to drain the fluid off my knee as well as give me pain shots in each knee. Feeling better today than I have in months. As well as prescribing lidocaine patches, anti inflammatory med.when needed as well as a few PT sessions. Very satisfied with this doctors bedside manner as well as fulfilling my needs as a patient.

Dr. Henne is one of the most competent orthopedic surgeons in the area. Not only are his surgical skills excellent but his bedside manner is superb. He takes time to listen, explain and answer questions in a manner that makes the patient feel like they really matter and in a way that never feels rushed or condescending. I have had the opportunity to have him as my surgeon twice—- once as a trauma surgeon and once for a knee replacement.

I first worked with River Valley Orthopedics 15 years ago to replace the ACL in my left knee which I damaged at a much younger age playing sports. My knee finally wore out and I recently went in for a total knee replacement. I worked with River Valley Orthopedics from beginning to end to make the decision to replace my knee, and then to go through the actual surgery and physical therapy and rehabilitation.Overall I have been very happy with RVO and the results. My doctor and other medical assistants have been very thorough and professional. The actual surgery was also handled well and I have had no complications. When concerns came up along the way I was given good information to resolve the issue.I would certainly recommend them if you have a joint issue and possibly need replacement.I have been disappointed with thephone answering service. You cannot reach any of the medical professionals directly, which I understand. But when you call the front desk all they want to do is verify who you are and then have the person call you back. So it’s difficult to pass detailed information which leads to multiple phone calls. And if you’re not able to answer their return call, the cycle repeats. I also found several times that the person answering the phone was not aware or was completely wrong about RVO policies and procedures and genuinely rude when I told them that I have been given different information from professionals at RVO.I was surprised that they had no way whatsoever to email me any documents that I might need.... For example a return to work form signed by my doctor . They either had to mail it to me or I had to drive to the office to pick it up. I suppose fax might be an option but very few people have fax availability these days. I know they are implementing a new portal site with individual patient logins perhaps these types of forms will be made available there in the future..I also recommend that RVO improve the correctness and details of their website. I did as much research as I could regarding my knee replacement, the type of knee, and what to expect. Most of the information I needed was not on their website but was found in other places. I was just surprised since they really are leading edge in their field, I thought their website should better reflect their capabilities.Overall, RVO is a very competent and capable organization with great surgeons and advanced techniques. With some tweaks to their communications and customer interface processes, they would truly be world-class in every way.
