I would give him a million stars if I could. After seeing another pediatric ophthalmologist who had misdiagnosed me for years causing me to lose a considerable amount of vision, dr. Droste diagnosed me with uveitis and cataracts. I was virtually blind when I first went to see him but after surgery he was able to partially bring back my vision. It’s been 13 years and I still think about this guy. God really uses this man no cap

My daughter has been a patient in this office for a while and we absolutely love Dr. Peters and Droste. Sadly, we have had multiple issues with protected health information / correct patient identification at this office. At one point my daughter was actually given another childs glasses prescription (similar but not the same name). Strike one. When my daughter started refusing to wear her new glasses we questioned the prescription. Eventually they made us come back to the office (across town), realized their mistake, and replaced the lenses free of charge. They made it right after a bit of hassle on our end. If this was the only issue all would be well and good.Unfortunately, Ive also had one of their office staff blurt out another patients name and date of birth to me on the phone when I questioned whether she actually had my daughters chart open. Strike two.Today when they handed me a clipboard to update some forms, the clipboard had another patients filled out health history form underneath the blank forms they wanted me to fill out. Strike 3?We absolutely love the providers here, and we would hate to leave, but Im questioning the safety of my daughters protected health information and the quality of care if theyre not even looking at the right chart. The issue with the glasses prescription I mentioned above dragged on for several months before we had the right prescription in hand. Thats lost time when youre dealing with the reason my daughter is wearing glasses to begin with. The moral of the story is that the doctors in this office are fantastic but you have to watch the office staff and assistants to make sure that youre getting the care for your child and not someone elses. These issues all seem to have cropped up in only the past couple of years so Im wondering whats changed at the administrative/office level. As a health professional myself, I find their lax adherence to protecting my daughters information appalling. PLEASE FIX THIS.

Dr. Droste is the best pediatric ophthalmologist in the area. I know because all the peds at our practice continually say it, Droste is the best!I really love that he’s not one to jump to surgery too quickly. One day we were in his office seeing my middle kiddo and at the end of his exam he asks if he can see my 1 year old too, who he had been watching play on the floor. He had a suspicion from watching him play and could tell he needed an exam. He took a quick look and got us scheduled for a full exam. He offered to stay through his lunch to do the full exam right then but our insurance requires prior authorization. The peds hadn’t even noticed the eye problem Dr. Droste saw from across the room. Great doctor!
