Our visit to Dr. DeYoungs office was my youngest sons first visit to the dentist. I couldnt ask for a better office to be taking care of my child. When you walk in its a childs paradise. The office is decorated and they change the theme of the office every so often. Dr. DeYoung was kind and gentle with my son. They showed us tricks and tips for better brushing. My son and I had a great first experience and the staff is amazing. I highly recommend Dr. DeYoung for your childs dental needs.

This office has done a great job for both of my children. My children both started there at age 3 and now are 7 and 5, and they have had nothing but great experiences! My 5 year old needed a few fillings and they did a great job keeping him comfortable that he was not fearful one bit for his yearly cleaning! The atmosphere is fun and engaging for the kids, and the staff is knowledge and accommodating. I continue to use this office for my children for many years to come.

My children had their 6 month cleaning today and I was so impressed with the professional COVID -19 response. All precautions were taken and the staff is amazing! We all felt comfortable, safe and well taken care of! Thank you Dr. DeYoung and staff!

My husband just called with our son crying in the background - he’s 6 and a fairly resilient child. He has told me before that he doesn’t like going to this dentist, but he was younger then and I chalked it up to “No one really likes going to the dentist”. Today he articulated very clearly how mean the dentist was. My husband said - “you need to look at these reviews” - obviously, others are saying the same thing. This time I am going to take my son’s word for it and give him what he deserves - great dental care AND a dentist who has compassion. I have lost trust in this practice and we will be looking for another pediatric dentist if anyone has any recommendations.

Hey Doctor Deyoung, it’s your girl Grace here, I can’t believe this is the last time you will see me. I’m turning 18, and I will miss you and I bet you’ll miss me. I loved being able to come and yes, I was never ever scared of going to the dentist and you taught me so many things that I loved to hear:) your such an amazing person, and the people who give you bad reviews are so wrong. You’ve been outstanding, and you’ve been so strong and supportive to help kids with their teeth issues and you’ve been there for kids! Im having a graduation party and i want you to come!! My son had a dental emergency this past weekend where 3 of his front teeth were bashed in from a trampoline accident and they were literally only hanging on by his braces. I called Dr Deyoungs emergency line as it was a Sunday in the middle of a pandemic and she called me back in 10 minutes and met us at her office in 30 minutes! She took such great care of my son so quickly and explained everything so thoroughly. They put his teeth back together and gave us all the information for follow up care so we have the best chances of saving and keeping his teeth! God bless and thank you Dr Deyoung, we could never thank you enough for taking such great care of my son! Absolutely recommend!

We’ve been patients for a few years and I absolutely love them! We went to another dentist and it was not a good experience, the wait times for cavities were after the 6 month cleaning appointments! They botched up a few jobs and then refused to see him. Dr DeYoung was recommended by a trusted friend. The office staff here was amazing. We were allowed to go back for the first appointment which helped my son who by now was rather traumatized by the dentist. At this point his teeth were so bad he had two more cavities, and ones that had gotten so bad he needed a crown. The other office had never been able to get X-rays for the back teeth and the staff here did with no problem. He absolutely loves the decor! He went back with no problems each time and actually fell asleep during a filling! It’s over an hour drive for us but we will do so every time for this amazing office. The office staff has always been very friendly and answered any questions we’ve had with professionalism and kindness.

The moment you walk in you are greeted with a warm smiles, words are spoken gently, environment is more then kids friendly with ever changing themes that draw the children’s attention away from being at the dentist. The care that is given while my child is getting treatment is quality and comforting :-) A+

My kids are not huge fans of dentist visits, but they LOVE going to what they refer to as the fun dentist office (apparently my dentist office isnt very fun 😂). Kid friendly, organized, polite, helpful.

My daughter has been a patient for about a year and a half to two years now. Dr Deyoungs office have always treated us with kindness and respect. Having the ability to talk with the doctor on call when something happens is very reassuring. I appreciate her willingness to sacrifice her time to answer questions and to come into the office if needed. Kudos to the office as a whole. They are wonderful with kids and watching what terms they use to explain what treatments they are doing. We appreciate what they do!

Just called looking for a new dentist for my 2 sons, ages 6 and 3. The receptionist who answered the phone was extremely snobby and rude toward me. As soon as she heard my children had the medicaid version of Priority Health she immediately got standoffish and basically told me they do accept medicaid but she refused to give me a time frame to call and check back in about them having soace for 2 new patients. Glad she acted so horribly to me as if she was better than me and that Medicaid is less of a priority to Amy DeYoung because it is state dental coverage. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Two of my children have been seeing Dr. DeYoung for a couple of years now and we love her and her staff! We couldnt have asked for a better dentist! They are upfront about everything, reasonable, and honest. Our kids just love going here for the staff AND the play areas. We recommend her to everyone we know.

This dentist has absolutely traumatized my child of going to the dentist. Since you are not allowed back in the treatment rooms you have no idea what is going on, my son told me they held him down, yelled at him and stabbed him in the tougne. He needed some extensive work done as a two year old, and it seems every time he goes for a cleaning he needs a filling a root canal and a crown on atleast one tooth, if not more. I don’t have dental insurance and pay cash for all his procedures. Every time we have an appointment it’s always time for X-rays and a fluoride treatment, pretty sure this shouldn’t be the case.

Our initial visit was good. I was impressed by the approachability of the environment. It was very kid friendly. My son needed some major work done and parents are not allowed back after the initial appointment. I was okay with this as my son was excited about the dentist and did well following instructions during the first visit. He was nervous after realizing I wasn’t going back with him but he still bravely went back with assistant. He returned with eyes swollen from crying and later told me how mean Dr Deyoung was. (This was not just that she had to do some unpleasant dentistry. He told me specific things she said and how she said them.) Rather than take an opportunity to be patient with my son who was clearly nervous, she spoke sternly to him and scared him. He’s now terrified of the dentist. This is exactly what we were hoping to avoid by going to a pediatric dentist. I think she’s probably fine if your kid is perfectly happy and cooperative but if they are nervous or uncompliant at all, she apparently uses her “mom voice” (her words) rather than comforting them and being patient and kind. The assistant was lacking in compassion as well. Why these people work with children is beyond me. I will not ever bring my children here again.

My daughter (who is scared of everything) got her tooth pulled today and to my surprise she said it was super easy. She then mentioned how everyone was so nice!!! Thank you all so much for the great experience.

After a bad experience at a family dentist a friend referred us here. They are kind and patient with my kids. The office is always decorated with fun themes. And most of all they no longer fear the dentist. It’s worth driving over an hour for great care.

We have been going to Dr. Amy DeYoungs office for a long time and have loved it. Love seeing the different themes they come up with and the staff is great.

My two children had their cleanings this morning. I honestly cannot explain what a wonderful place it has been for us. My son has been several times now (4.5yrs) and this was my daughters first cleaning (2.5yrs). The waiting room is always rotating and has A TON of fun themed toys and play items. After the cleaning there was an additional play room in back near the chairs where they played as well. I had to beg them to leave. Their hygienists were incredibly sweet and wonderful with the kids. Front office staff was great as well. Best prizes I have ever seen at a doctors office for when the kids are done. Oh and there is a tiny door for kids to use which has always been a big hit with my two!I know parents are not allowed back after the first visit. I prefer this way and it seems it has helped with my children too. I walked back today where they sat my son and daughter right next to each other for cleanings and I stayed for a few minutes to make sure my daughter felt comfortable and left. In the past my son was able to watch a movie and wear sunglasses during his cleanings!Seriously - just a great dentist for little ones!!

The office is always a different theme and kid friendly. The staff is wonderful with the children and communicate well with the parents. Highly recommend this dentist office to anyone!

Dr. DeYoungs office is incredible! Every detail is kid oriented, down to the mini door for the kids to walk through. My son did great at his first ever dentist appointment, and this was because the staff and atmosphere were so fun and inviting. Would recommend to anyone with little ones!

This office is very unprofessional and state they can do what ever they want because of their policies. My daughter was seen in May for a routine cleaning, at that appointment they informed me my daughter needed sealants and cavity fillings. When I informed the front desk that I was not ready to schedule, she was a bit rude and bothered that I didnt want to schedule it right there and then. I told her that I was not financially ready to schedule an appointment since I knew I was going to have to pay for most of the work out of pocket. But I brushed it off. They apparently have had to call me multiple times to attempt to schedule an appointment (mind you within a month of us being there). I told them again on one of the phone calls they made to me, that I was not ready to schedule an appointment yet... and that I would call when I was financially ready to schedule. I received a letter last week stating that my daughter is being discharged due to not scheduling. Its in their policy apparently, I am yet to find it on their website, I understand if they discharge you for multiple no-shows or cancelations, It almost seems to be like they are money hungry and demand you to schedule when they want to even though you are not financially ready. Trash front office staff, Linda was the worst!!!

We have been going for a few years now and could not be happy. The staff is always friendly, do great work and bonus my kids actually like going because of the fun/new themes!! Would highly recommend!

I went here when I was a little kid and Amy is SO mean. I would leave here crying. She used to tell me if I didn’t open my mouth bigger that should would get her tool to open my mouth when I naturally have a small mouth. She is awful. I would not recommend her to any children. I have vivid memories of this woman.

We absolutely adore the entire staff here. They are warm, welcoming, and make every trip a fun experience. My girls never worry about coming to see Dr. DeYoung. ❤️

I have had kids going to Dr. DeYoungs office for 11 years now. They love going to the dentist to see the theme they have chosen to decorate their waiting area. I have been very pleased with the kind and professional staff. The kids have received thorough dental care and are not scared to go to the dentist. Dr. DeYoung is a great dentist. She even met us at the office on the 4th of July one time when my son bumped his tooth on the cement of the pool. I would definitely recommend them.

My kids love it! They have always disliked the dentist, but at Dr DeYoungs they walk right in without a complaint! The staff is always has a smile on their face and a friendly attitude!

The practice caused my child to be deathly afraid of the dentist. We had to get him therapy to get him to see a different dentist.

I was shocked to see other reviews about rude staff we have only ever expierenced Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. We were nervous when we first started going afew years ago, about not being able to go back with our child but after the first visit and seeing the fun environment and friendly staff our fears were alleviated. My son LOVES going and thinks he is pretty cool being able to go himself. We would highly recommend them!

This entire office is beyond amazing, the time and care everyone has here for children is amazing, Dr. Deyoung is so patient and makes my kids feel at ease. My kids love going to the dentist and thats huge! I Recommend this office to everyone!

Worst place! Would give less then 1 star if I could!! They Will use every opportunity to do work on your child as long as you have Medicaid they can charge with out question but the min you have private insurance, they wont do work that needs to be done unless your willing to pay ALL up front expecialy if its not EXACTLY what they suggest! They do not take parents opinion seriously & do not allow you to go back with your child & when my child said One of his caps hurt after being put on the dentist said it didnt & dismissed him. ITS STILL BOTHERING HIM A MONTH LATER! One of his teeth needed a little filling, they put the filling in poorly & it came out the next day! Then I asked them to put it back in & they wouldnt said it need to be capped so I let them cap it, then the cap broke off, put back on 3 more times & it kept braking off!!! So then they had to pull it b/c it abscessed!! All b/c they didnt put the first little filling in well! Do not go here!

Dr. Deyoung and her staff are fabulous! They treat their young patients (and their parents) with respect. The team takes away the fear of going to the dentist. I wouldnt take my kiddos anywhere else.

Weve used Dr. Amy DeYoung for all our 3 children and shes been a god send! We had originally tried a traditional dentist for my first child and it was a disaster. Dr. Amy was able to address our challenges with each child admirably. Very pleased and have used her for several years.

My kids have been going to Dr. DeYoung since they were babies - 11 years at least. Recently my husband lost his job and our insurance. I left messages saying we were trying to figure the insurance situation out because they were insisting it was time to schedule our kids for an appointment. We signed our kids up for Mi child and I called to schedule. I was told by Lori that our kids had been deactivated, and they don’t reactivate. I asked if she was telling me she no longer wanted my kids as a patient. She said yes. It seems like they were content to care for my kids as long as we could pay, but when we are struggling and trying to find a way to get there, they no longer have no room for us. I was so heart-broken. I sobbed when I hung up. I had her on speakerphone so my husband was listening too. We were shocked and so hurt. When life is hard, you pray that people and businesses will work with you. Dr. DeYoung’s office did not do this. Lori was cold and uncaring. I’m sure we will find another Dentist for our kids, but it’s a sad reason to have to do this.

The office staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. I was charged a fee for a missed appointment that did not happen and when I called to clarify, the office staff member was extremely rude. I would not recommend sending your children to this dentist.

This office is really hit or miss, now. Dr. DeYoung has no contact with parents. You cannot go in. If the assistants were good... ok. But when they arent?My son comes out in tears for the last three visits. And we cant go see why. He says they yell at him when he cant breath.When we had issues with one treatment and brought our son back to fix it, and they accused us of causing it. Were charged for rework, where they needed to fix their own work. Then at the last filling the assistant left something white that burned his lip and when asked what it was and how to treat it, she said it must be chapped lips and she didnt do anything.Weve come here for a number of years with both kids and its gone downhill badly. Dr Amy may be ok but some of her assistants? This place is not worth it.

My kids went here for 7 years, we spent thousands of dollars. The hygienists/dentist were friendly, but the office staff is horrible. We put up with it for so long because there wasnt much else in town. Very inflexible for a childrens dentist. Very rude. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Office staff was rude, I showed up 45 min early for the appointment after being referred to their office. They were at lunch so I sat and waited then they gave me 45 mins worth of paper work to fill out. For my 3 kids. Super poor process for paper work. Then they said they did not have X-rays and could not get them from the previous office so I would have to pay for them again! Horrible experience! The old lady Linda at the front needs to retire and find a job that does not deal with customer service!! The hygienist were very nice and friendly two stars is only for them.

Very poor customer service. Office Staff was very rude and condescending. My children were pts 2 years until I cancelled an appt due to sickness and they charged me and were not flexible. Became very rude. Making me feel like a bad mother for needing to wait to reschedule telling me if I didnt schedule their teeth would continue too decay.

Horrible customer service. Office staff was unbelievably rude. Its no surprise that this is the only pediatric dentist in town without a significant wait time.

Dr. Deyoung does not allow parents to go back with their kids after the first visit. My 3 year old, shy son did not do well with the 2nd visit when he had to have a crown and his dad could not go back with him. My husband let them tie him down so they could do the dental work. I called the office to ask why they wouldn t in such a circumstance with such a young, shy child let my husband go back to tell him to behave and everything would be alright.The said it was their policy. They gave me other pediatric dentist phone numbers to try. I called the other dentists and some let parents go back, but because of the driving distance, we chose to try Dr. Deyoung 1 more time. However, before he could even go back, they sent us a letter saying our children were no longer patients. I called the office; told them I thought they should consider letting parents console their children in special cases like my sons. They told me they no longer wanted my kids as patients. I cannot believe a dentist would treat kids like that and facilitate fear of dentists. As a teacher, I know that not all kids learn or react to things in the same ways. Meeting each child s individual needs is the most important thing we as adults can do. Obviously, Dr. Deyoung does not share this belief. Totally bad experience!
