Im a member of the CMC and AAC. I always enjoy visiting the museum and listening to lectures, as well as taking courses here.

We are so glad that the AMC is in Golden! The Center provides education, resources and great event space. Such a good use for the old school! The AMC is such a unique asset for the community - thanks for all you do!

Was there for Colorado Cowboy Poetry gathering which is an annual event in January and is great fun. Upon entering the building I noticed a sizable climbing wall and numerous meeting or class rooms. The auditorium is quaint but seats were uncomfortable for long performances.

Gorgeous building chocked full of excellent mountaineering resources. The displays are informative, interesting and well built. The mountaineering library is richly appointed with journals, guides, history and manuals. The staff in the library are knowledgeable and very helpful.

This review is more about the CMC group that often works out of this building... theyre incredible. Very welcoming, knowledgeable + just fun to be around. Great organization to look into of youre looking for outdoor education + training.

I was in their building on two different occasions and saw and heard loud dogs in the hallways and offices. When I asked about it I was told dogs were allowed even though they sometimes sh** on the floors. Definitely not a place to do business in!

Great venue, but auditorium seats are not well padded

I took a class that was offered here and it was a nice place and nice location. They have a free parking lot which was nice.

By far the must-visit of Golden! Super cool original artifacts and interesting displays that will educate & entertain a wide spectrum. From those who have climbed the seven summits to folks interested in just beginning to explore the outdoors, theres something for everyone!

This is a great little museum. The subject is interesting to just about anyone. The cost is low and well worth the expense.

This is a former high school building with a lot of character, a perfect setting for the Colorado Cowboy Poetry Convention. It was a hoot.

Theres a great self-guided tour here with a suggested donation for entering that showed a cool history of mountaineering and had a great scale model of Everest and surrounding Peaks. There was a Groupon that made it much cheaper when we went

This is a great building with lots of cool stuff to look at and do, but the real treasure is the myriad of classes, activities, and clubs that it supports. Do some research and get plugged in!

A great place to learn about mountaineering, from the basics with the CMC to the great climbs with the AAC.

Attended a wedding here. No complaints. Staff was friendly.

Tim and Kristen are the best hosts in town! Its going to be a shame when they retire soon.
