We have been patients of Dr. Ray Tanaka ever since we moved to Arizona eight years ago. During that time, he and his staff have done everything from teeth cleaning to putting on crowns. The thing that separates Dr. Tanaka from other dentists we have seen is his concern over his patients’ comfort. He goes out of his way to administer pain killer shots very slowly so that there is minimal discomfort and constantly asks if pain is being felt while is doing a procedure. In addition, he takes the time to explain the whys, pros and cons of his proposed treatments to make sure that everyone is in agreement and comfortable before any procedure is undertaken. Finally, his sense of humor and his sunny disposition go a long way to diffusing any apprehension. The office staff is exceptional. We are blessed to be in his/their care.

Beyond the fact that Ive been with Dr. Tanaka for over 20 years, Id like to talk about his concern for his patients during this pandemic. Dr. Tanaka has put multiple medical grade HEPA filters in every corner of the office to protect his patients. Then I had to see a specialist, I went to 4 offices (to get 2nd and 3rd opinions) and all they had was a bottle of sanitizer at the front desk. It made me realize that I took Dr. Tanakas concern for his patients for granted. He took the necessary steps above and beyond most dental offices!

Just replaced 2 old crowns on front teeth. Put it off for years because hadn’t found a dentist I trusted to do this delicate work. Knew there wasn’t much tooth left and wanted to avoid implants. Raymund Tanaka came highly recommended by others in dental field. Watched his TEDx Talk. Was impressed with new patient exam, prophy and knowledgeable explanations. So, decided to trust Ray’s assessment that there was enough tooth base for crowns. He was correct. Also visited dental lab Ray uses – it’s first class. Ray’s standards are the highest. His work was meticulous, unhurried, and assistants well-trained. Know we finally found the right dentist for us and it’s a big relief. We also have high standards and know “BEST” when we see it.

There are some things in life that are not fun, or are at least anticipated with some level of trepidation. Right up there in the list of un-fun things is going to the dentist. Its gonna take too long; its probably gonna hurt; and, at least for my generation...the work was almost always temporary.UNTIL you walk into Ray & Cynthias office. It literally is like going into their home - staffed by caring members of their family. Everything, and I mean everything, is done to make you feel comfortable and confident. From the receptionist to the hygienist, to the techs to the doctors - this is the way a dentist office is supposed to be run. You will know very quickly - in your first visit - that this will be your dental office for the rest of your life - and maybe you wont have to be afraid anymore.If you dont smile when you go in...you will on your way out - its infectious.

This is the best dental office in the valley, bar none! Not only are Dr Tanaka and Dr Leong both excellent dentists, but they are beyond professional and have put together an amazing staff of dental professionals. The admin staff treats us patients like family, and they bend over backwards to work with my schedule which takes me out of town weekly. Ive had everything from dental cleaning, to cavities filled, to crown work done and its all been great. I bring my whole family here, and wouldnt consider going anywhere else. Dr. Tanaka and Dr. Leong are the best! The staff is first-rate, always asking about my dental and personal needs. I told Ray and Cindy that they should start a dental practice management company to teach other dentists how to hire and retain staff. I always feel very welcome.As for the treatment, both dentists are top flight. They continually take education courses from some of the best sources in dentistry today to keep their skills sharp and learn new techniques. I dont have particularly good teeth and have needed crowns, fillings and gum work. All of the procedures were done well with a minimum of pain. In fact, both dentists inject the anesthesia so slowly that I feel nothing at all.I give Drs. Tanaka and Leong and their wonderful staff my highest rating and would recommend them to everyone. Five stars are not enough.

Last week, I stopped by Drs. Tanaka and Leongs office and told the staff I had a part time toothache. Instead of making an appointment, Dr. Leong immediately checked my mouth and had a work plan in just a few minutes.
