Ive been seeing Dr. Ochaney for a couple of years. He is adamant about getting tests and wellness screenings. The office staff has a lot of turnover so its sometimes difficult to get things done correctly the first time. Dr. Ochaney is really good about referring to a specialist, when needed. I am generally a difficult patient, but when I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I credit him for getting me to the oncology center so they could get me the needed treatments. Since my condition is improving, I thank him, as well as the oncologists, for that. He has virtual visits (telemedicine), which works out great for me. But generally, he prefers in-person office visits.

This was a virtual visit and Dr Ochaney is wonderful. I’ve been a patient of his for nearly 30 years and he is always professional and has taken good care of me.

Im not from Maryland so finding a doctor I liked and could trust, seemed like a very challenging task. In the end I found him like I found my dentist (who I love!), I Googled something like, Best Internal Medicine Doctors in Maryland. I made a list, narrowed it down and he was in my final three. In the end I chose him because after my research, he consistently maintained 4.5-4.8 star reviews across the board. Then the comments also said he was smart, a good listener and not afraid to help you stay on top of your health.Full disclosure, before Dr. OChaney, I was coming off an extremely frustrating experience with a previous physician. They were great for a while but had run their course. That said, I was leary about having to select someone new.Office Staff/Space:So far Ive found them to be friendly, kind and professional. The office is sunny and remarkably calming. Typically, theres all this background noise going on in a Drs office, but this office was just really peaceful.The receptionist has always been friendly and knowledgeable about how my insurance works. The nursing staff is really nice and extremely thorough. I typically wait less than 10 minutes (if that long) once Ive checked in.Doctor Visit:My first visit was about a lump I found on my throat. I was more than a little panicked. Dr. OChaney did turn out to be a good listener and extremely thorough. He even took my blood pressure manually, just to be sure the machine was accurate. I had my most recent blood test results and he went through every line with me basically, answering my questions one at a time. And after my visit I was like okay, hes not worried about it, so I can calm down some. While the lump on my neck went away on its own, I liked that every step of the way, the doc and I had a conversation about what I wanted to do next? I got a chance to share and we talked and then agreed together. That was nice. Also, I like that they review everything youre taking every single time you visit to be sure they dont miss anything.Overall:Im really happy with my choice. I like his staff. I like Dr. OChaney.The last time I made an appointment, I was trying for the later spot but nothing was available at the time so I took what I could. The next day or so, I got a call from the office explaining a later appointment was now open if I still needed it. BEST OF INTERNAL MEDICINE‼️✨First off, I came to Dr. Ochaney in 2018 because when I was looking for a doctor, I typed into the Google Search bar, “Best doctors in Anne Arundel county” and his name came up. I read the many reviews that were posted on Google and I was convinced I had to check him out. When I first came into his office, it was clean and neat. There was a friendly and beautiful lady who smiled at me and helped me register. The staff treated me so nicely and it truly made me feel valued. Then I looked around the office (I’m a very inquisitive and observant person) and saw some cards neatly arranged into a case on the wall. I read what was written on the cards and they were letters and notes from Dr. Ochaney’s precious patients and/or their family members. All they wrote spoke highly of him, which created a huge anticipation in me ‘cause I had to figure out what made this man to be so celebrated by his patients. Furthermore, I saw several awards on his wall such as he being named BEST of internal medicine in 2017. When Dr. Ochaney came into the door for my check up, he was smiling and was so personable. He didn’t know I was interviewing him but I was. I asked him lots of questions and every thing clicked when he said he loves what he does, loves people and he quoted the “Golden Rule.” He is truly Golden. If you need a primary care doctor, look no further. Dr. Ochaney is excellent.I just came back from my yearly check up and was so pleased to interact with him and the staff. I found myself without a PCP and started researching the Providers recommended by my insurance company. After eliminating several Providers I settled on Dr Ochaney. On my first visit I found Dr. Ochaneyand his staff to be polite, caring and efficient. Dr Ochaney spend a good deal of time with me discussing my medical history and medications. To further assess my over all health Dr Ochaney gave me an order for a complete blood work up. We discussed the blood work during my next visit and I made the changes he recommended. To say that I was satisfied with the experience, would be an understatement, I was very satisfied with the experience.

Dr. Mahesh Ochaney is by far one of the best physicians I’ve been to in a very long time. I have recently left my primary doctor for a few reasons. The staff was incompetent and never did what they said they would do. They would lie about sending in refills and didn’t give the doctor the information I asked to be given to him. They were rude and really a waste of space There was a huge turnover rate with the staff and even the new employees were not better than the last.I have switched to Dr. Ochaney recently and I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have someone who actually cares about me and looks at all aspects of my Healthcare. He is thorough and the most competent and knowledgeable doctor I have ever been to. As a nurse I have seen a lot of doctors and worked with more than I can count. Dr. Ochaney is top notch and there aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful he really is. He knows ahead of time when I am due for labs or tests to be performed. I even had my husband recently switch to Dr. Ochaney and he too is very impressed with his professionalism and competence. It is wonderful to know that someone will be there if and when I need them. As for his office staff, they are a refreshing change from what I have been use to. They are kind, competent and efficient in every way. The waiting room is never full and only once was I in the waiting room with one other person. I never wait longer than 5 minutes to be seen. They are incredibly efficient and I am happy I made the decision to change to Dr. Ochaney. I pay extra because he is not under my insurance plan but believe me he is worth every penny.And to add to all the above, he is genuinely a kind and compassionate person.
