We have had a great experience here! I am on my second kid with braces with Dr. White. He came highly recommended by my dentist and we have been very happy. My daughter has been out of her braces for over a year and her smile is gorgeous. Everyone at the office is very helpful and responsive. My son, who is in braces, plays year-round sports and Dr. Whites staff even helped him fit his mouth guard. Five stars!

I am finally posting my review after 12 years of consideration. It was my 3rd time for braces. My bottom front teeth were caving inwards and I had that space again between my top two middle teeth! I knew I needed help! The staff bragged he was the best! He said I needed jaw surgery! Why didn’t I need it before? My fault I guess, but now I still have numbness in my jaw especially on one side. I got the braces and wore for 2 years, but according to his computer models, he had to “saw” one of my bottom front teeth to make them all fit again! Now, every Dentist I see says I have a chipped tooth! I say- no my ortho sawed that tooth - they are shocked.Also, on the outside of my upper incisor, he had to leave extra space so that my front teeth line up. It looks like I’m missing something. Yes, I paid double for “the best” - he is not the best! Go to a classic ortho! After that, I brought all my kids to regular ortho’s and paid a fraction of the cost. Their teeth are way better than mine and will last a lifetime!p.s. Braces only on upper 4 teeth 4th grade, then standard braces 7th - 9th grade, then i had issues and returned as an adult!p.s.s. I moved away while wearing a retainer and believed I had to return there for next retainer. That was my fault as well. Now I know better. 10 hour trip each way!

I am the father of 5 children & remember the first time I started looking for an orthodontist for my oldest child. I quickly realized I had no idea how to make sure I was selecting an excellent orthodontist. We did our best, but, unfortunately, we chose an orthodontist who gave my daughter a pretty smile but also a jaw with new clicks, pops, and discomfort as well as recurring headaches. Following a relocation, we found another orthodontist who uses unique techniques we later learned were called the Roth Williams philosophy. Under this method, orthodontic treatment is used to obtain not only a pretty smile but also healthy jaw function at the same time. My daughter had to be retreated, but this orthodontist had the techniques to fix the clicks, pops, and discomfort. When I moved to Virginia, I found that Dr. White is one of the few orthodontists in the region from the Roth Williams school. I was happy to drive 2 hours to Dr. White for my daughters and me. Dr. White and his team surpassed my expectations. Dr. White is amazing & gives 110% to make sure your teeth & jaw are perfect. And his entire team is highly competent, warm, & pleasant. We got great results -- the first time! I wouldnt go anywhere else. Love these guys!

I brought my 10 year old daughter in for a free evaluation for braces with Dr. White. The moment we walked in the door to the office my daughter exclaimed Oh look, they have my name right there in lights!. Sure enough there is a special neon lighted board personalized with the kids first names on it that have appointments that day. The staff that greeted us were very efficient and super friendly. Kim took us back to a comfortable exam room and showed us a helpful video. After X-Rays were taken and Dr. White did a physical exam of my daughters mouth & teeth (with bubble gum flavored gloves no less!) he gave us a thorough explanation of her situation and his professional opinion on how best to move forward. This was the first time a Dental Specialist explained the importance of being proactive with braces rather than reactive. And by doing so you can actually spare the pain of pulling multiple teeth by addressing underlying issues early on and ultimately improve upon the aesthetic results in the long run. With the X-Rays right there for you to see in 3D and the time Dr. White spends patiently explaining your case, the evidence to move forward is very compelling. The before and after photos they have of other patients are amazing! This is a top notch practice with cutting edge technology. I dont think there is anyone else in Richmond who is doing what Dr. White is offering for children and adults alike. I was very impressed with my experience there and would highly recommend to anyone. Go for your initial evaluation and see for yourself.

I wish Dr. White had been my orthodontist as a child. He gets along great with my kids, makes it fun but also holds them accountable. He is a perfectionist not just with looks but structure and function- so his patients are less likely to end up with TMJ and other conditions caused by a bad bite. I have been a patient of Dr. Whites for almost 5 years. I started out as a TMJ patient and then became an orthodontic one. From the beginning I had no idea what was wrong with my jaw, all I knew was that I was experiencing pain and the clicking noise was driving me crazy. During those 8 months that I was in the jaw splint my symptoms decreased and finally I was pain and noise free. The knowledge and care that Dr. White and his staff have towards his patients is something you could only dream of. As I am finally finishing up my orthodontic treatment I have gained that million dollar smile that every patient wants from their orthodontist. The precision and attention to detail that Dr. White has for his patients is incredible and he will not end treatment until EVERY tooth is in the perfect position and shape. If you are experiencing any TMJ symptoms AND/OR are looking into orthodontic treatment do not look any further than Dr. White.

I strongly recommend consulting with another firm before considering any recommendations given here accurate. I am incredibly suspicious of this place and genuinely fearful that this practice takes advantage of people. At 19 years old I went in there complaining about jaw pain to see what their thoughts where. Before I ever met doctor White he was constantly praised by his staff for being a god-sent orthodontist. They continuously played him up to be some sort of genius, a typical fallacy employed by many scammers. They told me multiple times how he was incredibly intelligent because he did an additional 2 years of school that most orthodontists would never consider, thus down playing the competition and establishing a false sense of superiority, another common tactic anyone with a understanding of social engineering could easily pick up. When I finally met with the doctor I started to realize why these tactics where being used. They tried to tell me I would need to have braces installed a second time to correct an overbite. They insisted braces would be the only solution and essentially ridiculed me when asking if Invisalign was an option. He mocked all practices that stand by the product proclaiming it was ineffective. Even though it has been clinically proven and is very common. He then continued to press that braces where a must, but not just any regular braces. His ten-thousand dollar braces, because I guess when God himself sent him down to earth, he must have given him divine knowledge on how to forge holy metal, because when I originally had braces 6 years prior to that, it only cost around $5000, and my brother was in braces at the time I had this visit for even less than that(which makes since, as technology advances in theory costs should go down....) Luckily however, the firm does their own convenient financing so I could convert my braces(that would have taken at least 2.5 years to work... even though I had already been in braces prior to that for 2 years....) into a convenient car payment. (Seriously, with one of the better health insurance plans this was going to be $10,000 out of pocket, thats a new car..... I have since consulted with multiple firms who have been completely astonished at the astronomical price he was going to charge me, in addition to the arrogance practiced at this firm. (Seriously what kind of orthodontist writes a book about themselves????) Multiple places have recommended Invisalign and said it works better than regular braces as you get a new set every few weeks that is tailored perfectly to fit your teeth as they continuously realign. Other firms also recommended getting a mouth which was something highly looked down upon.....Maybe Im wrong, maybe the other practices I consulted are wrong, but I have a horrible gut feeling about this practice and I truly believe people are being taken advantage of here.
