San Tan Dental Group in Gilbert on Market Street is amazing. I have been coming here for 11 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Anything from concerns, health, and insurance. Dr Ryan communicates very well with concerns about the whole procedure (if having one done) to making sure you are always comfortable and not in pain. His dental assistant Lady is very sweet and efficient. I live in Glendale and make this drive because its definitely worth it. You wont regret this dental office as a choice for all ages of your family!

My first time here to get a crown fixed and it was quick, they did a great job. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I just found my new dentist here in AZ.

I came in as a new patient today. As soon as I walked in I was told the patient in take iPad system was down. When they had me take x-rays, one of the 3 machines was broken, and the room was very cramped. They take me to the exam room and Im basically ignored for 20 minutes. The hygienist came in for about a minute to prepare and then left me alone again. When they came back, they only measured my gum health and said I need a deep cleaning. The dentist herself comes in later saying the x-ray and photo network is down, theyre missing photos, and they would have to take more. I passed on it since the last time took too long. She looked at my teeth for maybe a minute, mentioned the deep clean again, and then left. After another long wait, the receptionist of all people brings in a computer with a detailed bill of what a deep clean would be, which was nearly $400. I didnt even get my teeth cleaned in this office visit. Apparently they dont do any cleanings period until you come in at a later date for the deep clean, if thats what they say you need. They asked to set up an appointment, I said no and walked out. Waste of time. Theyll probably bill my insurance for whatever this was but I basically spent 2 hours in a chair without any dental work at all. I will not be retuning, and neither will my family. I will say the x-ray assistant was nice and I appreciate that. Hopefully she can find a new employer thats honest.

Go to a different place to get your teeth looked at. The front desk was so rude, I felt so dismissed. She didnt verify my insurance before my visit and wasted my time. I will never go here again.

I moved to Gilbert from the Midwest and was in search of a dental office. When I saw all the great reviews for San Tan Dental Group I scheduled an appointment for an initial appointment and cleaning. They took a lot of x-rays, scans and images. When it came to the cleaning itself I felt like the hygenist bearly went through the motions of a cleaning I have ever experienced. I dont think she was even in my mouth for 5 minutes. My concerns were realized 6 months later at my next cleaning at a different dental office were I had the most difficult cleaning in my life. The hygenist at my new dental office commented, in her opinion, that I had more than the normal 6 months of plaque buildup below the gum line. I wouldnt give San Tan Dental Group 1 star.

This place is amazing!!! I love the service I get here. Everyone at this dental office is always awesome and make you feel comfortable and welcomed. The front office people are amazing, Erica is fantastic and Rosa Maria is great as well!!! My hygienist Alyssa is super cool and always provides me tips on how to keep my teeth great. There are so many others to name, but that office is great. If I moved farther away, I would still travel to get my teeth needs done here. Highly recommend this place.

I used to love my dental office. But the last visit was disappointing to say the least. Way too busy and crowded, so much so that I spent nearly an hour waiting in the dentist chair to be seen. I even heard one of the workers saying there were no rooms to put anyone. Then why not stay on top of appointments? In addition, my dentist was switched with no word to me. I was seen by a completely new dentist whom I have never met. Finally, when I called about getting my ledger for tax filing purposes, because no one responded to my email, I was told I have to come pick it up in person. I thought we were living in an electronic age? I miss working with Roxanne, she was the bomb.

Got two root canals done and the root canals were the most pleasant part. Staff was not very caring after the root canals they put me in another room to see the dentist and get my caps put on and I waited nearly an hour before the dentist came to see me and at that point I had been there for two hours and the numbness was starting to ware off. I didn’t think it was the big of a deal because the root canal specialist told me I was almost done before they moved me to the other room but after waiting nearly an hour for the dentist and the numbness starting to ware off they worked on my teeth for another hour. The dentist worked on my teeth for about 20 minutes and then his assistant finished everything. The dentist didn’t prescribe any pain medication or give me a chance to ask him any questions and left the office before I was even done. By the end I was in so much pain all I wanted to do was go home, but I had to go pay and set up my payment plan which I tried to do before the procedure but they didn’t let me and of course for some reason they were having issues setting up the payment plan. they said they needed a dentists signature for it but he had already left the office. I waited another 15-20 minutes in the front office in pain while they tried to resolve this, they tried to up my initial payment by 700 at first and then 300 dollars and asked if I wanted to sign up for some dental credit card thing. Now it’s resolved but I have to go back in person and set up my payment plan again. From the front office screwing with me over the payment plan and forcing me to wait in pain after my procedure to the dentist who didn’t talk to me or give me any information at all this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any dentist before. Would definitely go anywhere else. I was also in so much pain after the procedure I had to get pain medication from a friend and self medicate because they gave me nothing. This whole thing was so stressful and painful I can’t express in words how much I think you should avoid this dentist office

Best office ever! I will never go anywhere else! I haven’t had great experiences with dentists and I have good teeth. Dr. Nielsen has an aggressive home, conservative office approach and they are very good at educating their patients so you can do all you can at home. I’ve learned things, finally, that every child should be learning. I really appreciate their approach and it has greatly helped me and my family. They are very thoughtful and caring. They sincerely care about their patients and treat you as friends. I recently passed out in the office and I wasn’t the patient. They went above and beyond to take care of me and my daughter. And they never made me feel like a bother even though I caused a lot of disruption. Such an amazing office! Thank you

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Have had my teeth deep cleaned here have had my sons teeth cleaned as well as baby teeth extractions. Just front to back SanTan dental is phenomenal! Alyssa the hygienist on staff is professional and I can safely say that my teeth have never felt cleaner or looked better after I have a cleaning done by her. A+++

Im so thankful I found this place! I had gone to a dentist who told me to take antibiotics for trial and error for pain and sensitivity I was having in a molar. I wasnt comfortable with that, and wanted a second opinion. My brother told me about San Tan Dental. Even though I was a new patient, they were able to get me in quickly.After some x-rays and a quick exam, Dr McDougall told me she didnt see an infection so there was no reason to take antibiotics, but I did need a root canal. I was able to get that done with Dr Situ the next day! Ive had a lot of dental work done over the years and it was probably the least painful experience Ive had at the dentist! And Amy did a perfect temporary crown for me!When I went back to get the permanent crown done, I found out Dr McDougall had given me an upgrade on my crown but I hadnt been charged extra for it! Wow!!!I have been in this office three times, and everyone has been absolutely wonderful! I am only in Arizona about once a month, but I think Ill be keeping San Tan Dental as my regular dental office from now on. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend San Tan Dental Group! I called right when they opened at 7am to see about getting my son squeezed in for an emergency toothache. They got us right in at 8am and we didn’t have to wait long at all. In and out within 45 minutes. Dr. Mcdougall (sp?) was so sweet and very thorough with explaining what was needed. Front office is super nice and helped explain everything from a cost perspective. My son is scheduled for the procedure and we are also scheduled to come back for a full exam and cleaning. We found our dentist for life! Thanks for a great experience, you have a wonderful team!

I went to this office and was immediately impressed. On my new patient form I let them know that I do have some anxiety with going to the dentist as I have had a negative experience in the past. The doctor came out and introduced herself, made sure that my questions were answered before we got started and made me feel as comfortable as I could. She was very patient with me and made sure that I was heard and understood everything that she was talking about. I have a couple more appointments scheduled for the next couple of weeks but my anxiety has been greatly reduced. They are amazing and that is coming from someone who is not a fan of dentists. I would highly recommend this dental office!

I moved to the area a couple years ago and have now had the opportunity to visit San Tan Dental group a few times for routine cleanings and much needed dental work. I had found the staff and dentists a pleasure to visit. Ive had nothing but great experiences. Best of all, everyone there seems to be genuinely great people.

San Tan Dental Group is THE BEST. You will not get better care anywhere else. Yes, it is possible to view their cautious approach to treating patients as an up-sell, as one person here emphasized. I was compelled to leave this review to encourage you otherwise. Over the years many dentists minimized problems I was having with my teeth, in the name of keeping my costs down. As a result, my teeth became permanently discolored and I experienced bone loss in my mouth, all of which could have been prevented if I had been told I needed more than a cleaning. In fact, I had the beginnings of gum disease eroding the bone holding my teeth in place. As a result of this lack of care in the name of keeping my costs down, my gums receded. San Tan Dental put their business on the line to tell me what I needed. I challenged the hygienist and doctor with many questions and much attitude. They appealed to my logic, and I am so much healthier for their stubbornness. IT IS WORTH IT TO GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO COME TO SAN TAN DENTAL. I drive 40 minutes to get there.

Pretty disappointed. They put the crown on my rooted tooth a little off, and it broke four years later, a year before the warranty ran out. However, they were sketchy about honoring the warranty, so I decided to just get it fixed at my regular dentist. They said I had to have the tooth inspected every six months, but they never told me that, and the paperwork doesnt say that -- even though they think it does. Avoid this place -- too many good dentists in Gilbert to choose from.

Called on a Monday with a dental emergency. A woman took my info and said shed check with ALL the dentists to see who could get me in the quickest. I waited 2 hours - no call back. I contacted Gateway Dental. I was treated the next morning. I NEVER heard back from San Tan Dental Group.

Very friendly and prompt front office staff. Normally only wait a few minutes before going back to see Dr Neilson. Dr Neilson and the dental assistants (Lisa Ortiz) are also very friendly and understanding. Ill be back for sure.

I had a bonding repair done last week and it came out today. They get three stars because Dr. McDougall (not the original dr.) fixed it today in less than 30 minutes. If youre looking to go here, go see her. Update 11/3 I take back everything good I said about this place. The bonding came out again after I brushed my teeth. I will be reporting this practice to the States board of dental examiners.

Not sure why all the negative talk on here about San Tan Dental Group. Maybe its because only haters and negatively minded people put effort into online reviews. Anyhow, heres an honest review from someone whos not a hater.Ive been to them a couple times and have always been very pleased with my experience. I go to Dr Scott Nielsen, and I think hes amazing. Let me tell you why.On December 31st (yes, New Years Eve), I unfortunately broke my right front tooth right in half. Because I was starting a new job on January 2nd, I panicked. I thought I was screwed because I didnt think I would find a dentist that could get me in that day, let alone be open. And of course they would all be closed on Jan 1. After calling a few offices and finding them all to be closed, I came across San Tan Dental Group. They were open! Their office manager Cullen answered the phone and once I explained the situation to him, he said he would get me a place on the schedule for that afternoon, since it was an emergency. When I arrived, I found a very professional, clean, high-tech office fully staffed by very kind and happy people. Cullen is a professional gentleman, and does a great job. Kacie was the dental assistant who helped me out and she is incredible. I was very impressed with Dr Nielsen and his kindness and professionalism. He said that the best option would be a crown, and that he could get me fitted for one right then and put me in a temporary. My temporary tooth looked as good as my original and fit well. The procedure was virtually painless even though there was a lot of grinding and shaving. And because I dont have dental insurance, Cullen worked with me on finding a price that worked for me, and presented me with a full array of options so I could make my own informed decision about the cost. Im happy with the price, especially compared to what Ive heard from other dental offices.When I returned to have the temporary removed and the crown put on, it was obvious that Dr Nielsen would not settle for anything less than perfection. He worked with the crown to make sure that I was happy with how it looked, and he did everything in his power to make it perfect. Hes very gentle when working in the mouth, and moves slowly. Which is something I appreciate, since Im usually not a fan of dentists (Ive been to many).To sum it all up, Im very happy with my experience with Dr Nielsen and San Tan Dental Group. I would highly recommend Dr Nielsen and his staff to any family member or friend. Very happy!
