I’m a very nervous patient and the staff is so caring and makes me feel comfortable. They make sure I am comfortable and answer all my questions. Dr. Janet Mason is so caring and conservative about her treatment with crowns and replacing old fillings. I am glad I found this office. Well worth the drive.

I have had dental work for over a year with Dr. Janet Mason. Before visiting her office I had been extremely hesitant to get my teeth clean due to the pandemic. I recently moved to Garland from out of state. My wife and I needed to find a new dental practice to take over our dental care and found Dr. Janet Mason. I was treated extremely well and respectful. They went out of their way to be sure I was comfortable. I had many questions regarding charges and billing. Dr. Mason’s staff answered all my questions and addressed all of my concerns. They were very respectful and kind. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Dr. Mason for anyone in need of dental care.

An update:1. The filing she did on my daughter fell off only a few month after the filling.2. I visited my previous dentist and told by my previous dentist that I do not have any decay on the tooth which Ms. Mason said it “decayed so bad that I must have a crown”I agree with Julie Lipp who said you need to be cautious with this dentist. Second opinion is needed.Key factors here:1. They persuaded me to have an crown installed on my tooth which I had never had any pain or discomfort with2. Two months after this new crown was installed, this tooth start to hurt badly with throbbing pain and sensitivity to cold.3. I tried to communicate with their office for two times and the answer I got was that there is nothing to do with them and I need to go to see another dental specialist and possibly do root canal.Comprehensive story below:I found this office because I saw so many good reviews here. The first time I visited was for a cleaning. They told me that I have several decays and three of them need crowns. I was shock. I have been taking good care of my teeth with my previous dentist. I never missed any cleaning appointment and annual evaluations. I was never told of any problems with my teeth, and I did not have any pain or discomfort either.They were really persuasive. They urged me to install this crown for several time. One time they even tried to use GOD in their lecture in order to make me agree to install crowns.Only two months after the new crown was installed. A heavy, throbbing pain started on this tooth and it becomes sensitive to temperature. I have to take pain medicine for nights and cannot use this side of teeth for eating at all.I called her office and the answer was we will direct you to another dental specialistI am not being unreasonable here. If this throbbing pain occurs 1 year after the new crown, I would never call to bother them. However, if you have been very happy with a tooth, and your dentist convinced you that you must install a crown on this tooth, then 2 months after the crown was in, it start to hurt so badly. Wouldnt you be a little bit suspicious that it may have something to do with this crown, or medical decision she made?Unlike them, who blamed my tooth 100% for this outcome, I do not want to say it must have been their fault. I just want to share my true experience here. Thanks.

I am so glad I kept the flyer and made a call for my daughter and myself.Over the last several years dental visits have become a stressful and almost traumatizing experience for me. I never used to hate going to the dentist. From my first appointment, Dr. Mason and her staff have been so kind, patient and walked me through a major treatment plan. We’ve started the hard work to fix my smile, starting with getting rid of the tooth pain.With my daughter she was kind and did everything she could to alleviate her stress and fear and her pain level. They even worked with her orthodontist to get a filling done underneath her palate expander.I couldn’t recommend a better dentist or front office staff. If you have questions they will answer them. If you have fears they try to encourage you and help you.I highly recommend Dr. Mason’s practice!

The moment I walked in the door for my first-time visit, I was warmly greeted and welcomed. Everyone had a genuine smile on their face, no fake smiling here. My hygienist Sherry was awesome, so gentle, so sweet. And Dr. Mason made me feel very comfortable. Dr Mason has a very professional and courteous staff. I have begun to take my 3 year old son for his first routine visits and he actually enjoys the experience. My 5 year old daughter has been going for awhile and enjoys it but I think the toy box may have something to do it with it as well. Went to Dr Mason two years ago. She told me I needed a crown and a cavity fill. Nothing hurt so I got a second opinion. Second opinion says no cavity and crown can wait. In the meantime, her office calls me every week to schedule the work . Two years later they are still calling even after I told them to stop . Do not go here. She cannot be trusted.

I needed to have two teeth filled. Dr. Mason numbed my gum before numbing the teeth. It was a painless procedure. Dr. Mason worked calmly, and I was out of the chair in about 45 minutes after she started. Dr. Mason is an excellent dentist!

I always look forward to my appointments! the staff is always nice, and the hygienists are so nice and understanding ( I love Channon!). They will take time to explain the process and answer any questions. They always highlight what you are doing good and what and how you can improve (Im an awful flosser!). Dr. Mason is great! She will always talk about been preventive with your dental care and I appreciate it (I do not like the kind of dentist that they like to drill your teeth the moment you walked in).

Great communication before, during, and after all procedures.

Went in to pay a 355$ bill from dental work i just had done and asked the front desk if dr Mason could look at my retainer that was broken. The front desk lady didnt even have to make room for an apt for me and said the dr would be avaiable a few hours later and to come by. I came back and I sat in the waiting chair in the waiting room chair 10x longer than I was in the actual dental chair. The dentist Proceeded to open my mouth to tell me I need to go to my orthodontist.Yesterday I received a 110$ bill for them to tell me they couldnt even help me while I sat in the dental chair for 45 seconds.If you plan to visit this dental office for some reason make sure and ask for every single charge upfront before you step in the dental room.. so disappointed and will NEVER return to janet mason dds or recommend anyone to them. Very disheartening what they have done to me.

I found them to be very friendly and the place was clean. My hygienist (I think her name is Natalie) was great and answered all my questionsHowever, I wasnt happy about theyre billing practices. They charged $400 for the cleaning/exam and I ended up paying $70. Also, they told me I have 2 cavities and need 2 crowns. They gave me a quote for $5436 where my portion would only be $3936.Its true they are are out of network (but theyre walking distance to my house) but I wish they were more honest with me in that they can charge WHATEVER they want as opposed to a max limit when youre in network.The thing that really made me upset is that I went to 2 other dentists for a second opinion and they both told me I need ONE crown and I have no cavities. How is that possible?I eventually found Dr Lloyd Lawrence in Richardson. Hes good. You can talk to this guy. I ended up paying $460 for one crown.Sincerely,-jason kooner
