The place is good. Has great deals the only thing I didn’t like was they made me put contacts in my eyes for exam. When all I wanted was to get eyeglasses. Then at end charges me extra $80 because i used their contacts. Didn’t make sense to me, I didn’t ask for contacts. Place is good for eyeglasses only

Just got a pair of glasses with the eye exam special offer and love it. Can’t beat the deal. They have plenty of frames to choose from and the place and people were great. Felt safe and comfortable while I was there and they had me in and out quickly. Def recommend this place.

Polite and professional staff. Knowledgeable doctor.I’ve actually never had an eye doctor tell me that I might get headaches when I get my new pair, but if it doesn’t go away in a couple of weeks, to come back. I’ve definitely had a few years of wearing glasses that weren’t quite the right prescription and accepted that seeing came with headaches sometimes. Glad to know it doesn’t have to be that way!Edit:I am SO IMPRESSED with this staff. I came back to pick up my glasses and someone actually made sure they fit on my face well and adjusted them so to my liking. I’ve NEVER had that experience before and was always stuck fiddling with my glasses with a kit. 10/10

If there is a zero star I would give that. The wait is ridiculously long. I had an appointment scheduled and I waited for more than a hour.Not only that, they decide to take someone in that came after me. This location is really bad. I will never come back to this location.Please just go to another location. People there are not friendly at all. They don’t care you are waiting for long. They doctor just take whoever they feel like. It’s so disappointing that I wasted a hour waiting.At the end, I don’t even feel like getting the exam anymore.Whoever manage this place needs to stop taking appointment if they can’t handle the volume.Hopefully less people go there and they don’t make people suffer by waiting for more than a hour.

The two receptionist ladies i checked in with yesterday were rude and judgey. Im not the only one who thinks so. The actual doctor was kind, thankfully and he told me to come back next year. If those girls arent there, Ill think about it. Unfortunately i wasnt given my prescription numbers and the lady selling glasses didnt offer anti glare, transitions or the extra gloss to prevent scratches, so i completely forgot to add any of that.

This is the 2nd time Ive gone there the 1st time I only had an eye exam and it was fine. This time I decided let me try to get glasses so I went in thinking I was going to get 2 pairs of glasses with the free eye exam and my contact lens exam and my insurance would cover it and I know I had to pay something out of pocket but no big deal. I had the exam Dr. Wang very nice gentleman seems to be quite thorough. After the exam I went out and started looking for frames I actually found 2 pairs that I really really liked that were on the 2 for 69.99 wall but when I sat down with the girl she told me that they were 2 for a 112.00. I was a bit annoyed but really really liked them so I conceded. Then I gave her my insurance information which I made sure I checked before I went in there and she told me that with there system I only got a discount it didnt cover anything. I have United health care global not only does it cover a full exam it gives me discounts on any additional things I want to put on lenses. Unfortunately all I ended up receiving was an insurance plan discount of $5 off of the repeat contacts lens exam and then an estimated insurance payment of $45 so I still ended up paying $39 for the exam. Fast track a week and a 1/2 later my glasses came in. I went in the young man that helped me was very nice gave me my glasses and I left the store and then went straight home to try them on and inspect them. One pair is great... the other pair The pair that I really really love has some sort of film on the front of it on the sides outside of the lenses kind of looks like when you get hair spray on a mirror so a whole bunch a little little dots that you can tell something was put on it and not taken off. They look like someone wore them for a couple years... I didnt wanna try to fix it myself so I went back over there and the assistant manager was helping me. I showed him the glasses and told him the problem, he tells me OK takes them puts him in some machine when they come out of the machine he takes them over a rinses them in the sink comes back over and dries them with paper towel rubbing the sides.. Then I can see him rubbing on the sides rubbing rubbing rubbing rubbing he couldnt get it off but he kept trying. When he hands them back to me and I tell him that its still there and I can still see that its still there and he goes yeah thats just from the coating that they sprayed on the lenses. Well guess what the lens package I bought comes with uncoated lenses so now Im very very upset because he lied right to my face he knew there was something wrong with the frames. All I wanted was for him to say I dont know what that is let me swap out the frames for you the lenses are already done. So now not only will I not recommend this place I wont ever be going back!!!! So disappointed 😞

I went to my appointment expecting to get an eye exam & glasses, but the doctor went fast and when she ordered my glasses the lenses were switched. I have a weaker eye on the left but they put it as that my weaker eye is on the right. If I would to put my glasses upside down it kinda works but she put them also way too strong and they told me that I would have to pay again and I wouldn’t even get any discounts. Then I demanded that another doctor check my eyes then that doctor tell me something totally different that I need to see a specialist and also downgraded the strength that the first doctor ordered 🙄. I am a very nice person and it takes a lot to upset me and the girls they have working there to give you your glasses were unsympathetic totally unprofessional talked to each other rather than the patient & sent me home without any help. Now I have glasses that I don’t even use at all, I don’t understand what was the point.

Doctor is fantastic. Front office staff is very rude.In addition!!!Still have not received contacts!!! I was told by the contact manager thats why she has glasses!!!It is very disappointing that I continue to have to put in a complaint about this location. My daughter went for a appointment in mid December here we are January 10th and my daughter still has no contacts. I get complaint after complaint from the manager and also from the contact manager Chris who has just hung up the phone on me. I have asked for the doctor to see her so that he can fit her contacts and they do not call me back they make the excuse that her prescription is too high. My daughters eyes have not changed that much I have seen other doctors both private and retail chains. This is the worst service ever!!!They are holding my daughters prescription hostage because they say they cant get in the prescription. I have never had this problem I want the prescription today. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau, my insurance company, and also the news if I have to.

Just walked out of this location in Garfield, no good afternoon or a hello at least not even eye contact to acknowledge that we were there. I stood there and just couldnt believe it. Finally one walks up to me and takes my temperature and I said I was looking for frames and I had my own prescription. They seemed bothered, I left. Ill give the clifton location a try. Customer service is key to me.

Very rude girls working in the Garfield location. They make you feel uncomfortable the minute you walk in and they speak to you very rude. My daughter was there the day before my appointment and she also experienced the same and they charged her more by mistake. I walked out on them five minutes into walking in. I will never go back and I do not reccomend this location.

I visited America’a best in Garfield, NJ last month. Upon entry, the staff takes your temperature, gives you hand sanitizer, and discusses your reason for visiting. The doctor who performed my eye exam was professional and most importantly, great at her job. She got my prescription correct, which unfortunately isn’t always the case and I’ve had many problems in the past with my prescriptions.Before this visit, I liked Warby Parker the most but because of the pandemic, I chose to try America’s Best because it was a smaller store, with less foot traffic than Warby Parker in NYC.There were 3 promotions: 2 for 69, 2 for 143, or 2 for 169. I chose the 2 glasses for 143$ promotion.I purchased: eye exam, anti glare reflective coating, UV light, anti scratch coating, and a warranty for 2 eyeglasses and the total cost after insurance was 167$ (For 2 eyeglasses!). This is the cheapest I’ve ever paid for glasses because I like to get the add-ons like anti-glare.Overall, I recommend America’s Best in general. Garfield location is great because the staff is friendly, the doctor gave me the perfect prescription, they accept most insurances (call your insurance prior to visiting) and they have a wide selection of eyeglasses.

Went there today to drop off my frames. Ordered lens less the week ago. Was told to go there and drop them off. They unlocked the doors for me and got my glases back to me in less then 5 minutes!! Always friendly and very helpful when i call or go there. Would highly recommend them to eveyone!!Ally

It took about 4 weeks to get my glasses. On the day they were supposed to arrive, I called in the morning. They told me that the glasses are here, so I drove to the store, but the people would not take them out of the shipping box and give them to me. They told me I have to wait until they call me. Finally at 5pm they called. It took them a whole day to just take the glasses out of a box and hand it to me.You need to have a lot of patience if you want to get your glasses from here.

Today We visited, there was a promotion and I talked 3 people by forcing them, no welcome, not a little bit smiling, answering my questions like wanna beat me. Front desk woman hate her job obviously, other are also no difference. I stayed inside 15 minutes trying to buy glasses but No one interested, price was reasonable this is why I visited but no, we left empty hands. No one should go there until the staff change.

Absolutely wonderful!! The doctor seemed to really care about my eyes and my health, the facility was super clean and everything they promised me was honored. The doc wanted me to get blood tests before I ordered my new glasses but told me if I couldn’t get the bloodwork done within the next 30 days, I could come back and they would honor the 2 pair for $69.99 deal. Well, unfortunately I could not get the bloodwork done so I went back and they more than honored the deal! I arrived to the store very late one day (like 15 min before closing) and all of the machines were cleaned/put away for the night. However, the doctor working at the time took the machines out again and gave me one last exam on the spot (free of charge) just to make sure my prescription from a month ago was the correct one. They let me pick out my frames, I never felt rushed AND the glasses came in way sooner than I thought they would. My glasses are perfect, stylish and I love them!! What a great experience. Bravo, America’s best Garfield!! I have been recommending you guys to EVERYONE!! Thank you for the amazing customer service and all around awesome experience!!! 👏🏻👍🏻

The advertisement states 2 pair for $69.00. Yet you are pretty much unable to get that price as you are automatically upgraded to thin lenses, etc., etc. So your $69 trip ends up costing $300.You are also somewhat pressured to go through additional testing at an extra cost. I turned it down as I am being seen regularly by a specialist at Colombia Presbyterian. Seems there are a lot of extras.On the bright side, the woman who did the actual eye exam was excellent. She was thorough and very knowledgeable. I wish I had gotten her name but she deserves an A+.

The general Manager was the one that helped me and I have to say that he gave me the best customer service I have ever received at America’s Best and I have been a long time customer! Usually when it 630 at night and they close at 7 people don’t want to take the time to help you especially when you are frustrated about your only pair of glasses breaking! He helped me out tremendously and I have to say thank you again and thank you for going above and beyond your duties! Definitely deserve 5 stars!

Had an appointment but was told that I had no coverage upon arrival. They refused to speak to my insurance once I verified that they were in network and I had coverage. Very uncooperative and unprofessional in my opinion. Filed complaint with my insurance company. Will never recommend them to anyone.

Beware if you drop off frames that are not sold directly from this vendor. Dropped off frames in December 2020 and the Manager, Christopher, has given me the run around regarding the status of the frames. I will be reporting this group to corporate.

While there are definitely stipulations to their “Buy 2 Pairs of Glasses for $69.95” (that’s not including the lense price, if you want thin lenses instead of plastic, anti glare, etc.) deal, this office was extremely welcoming and friendly. Dr. Wong was extremely nice and took time to talk with me during my exam. The office itself and exam rooms including equipment is very clean and they have a very nice selection of eye glass frames. All in all, the prices were reasonable and I enjoyed my visit. I’ll be back for my trial lenses as well as my follow up and further eye exams.

The manager at this company was very rude to one of his employees. Was also being very abrupt about selling the glasses. It seemed as if he was more worried bout bargaining then actually making sure the customers prescriptions were right and they were taken care of. I would never come back to this place again with my associates to look for glasses

Very poor customer service and very mean staff. Nobody greets you when you walk in and didn’t bother to ask about my insurance and what kind of eye examine I want. They keep you waiting if you want to try any glasses because they are locked. I would not go to back there again and waste my time.

NEGITIVE STAR REVIEW!!!!This place is by far the worst Ive ever done business with. I went in around 2nd to last week of April to get my exam. I picked out 2 sets frames for $69.99 and was talked into adding all these extras features because supposedly my current pair had them. They told me 2 weeks for pick up. They called me literally at end of week(about 5 days) telling me their ready. I went in 3 days later and when I put them on I felt crossed eyed and the guy basically told me that cant be because the prescription matches what I was prescribed. He then says maybe it because your old lenses are more centered. He then tells me let me send them back out to lab and get them adjusted. Well call you in a week when they come back in. Almost 3 weeks later I havent heard anything and I called them on Friday and was put on hold for literally 10-15 mins with a brief pick back up to be told in a rude tone HOLD ON WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR YOU GLASSES. They finally got back on the phone and said these were a reorder right. Thats why we had trouble finding them but yea theyre here when can you come. I told them this week and questioned why no one called to tell me they came in and the lady said they just came in. I went to pick them back up today and yet still the lenses arent right still feel cross eyed. The guy then starts blaming the lab people they work with saying THIS ISNT OUR FAULT YOU HAD TO MAKE 2 TRIPS HERE AND ILL SEND THEM BACK OUT AND YOULL HAVE THEM IN 1WEEK OR WE CAN MAIL THEM TO YOU IF YOU DONT WANT TO MAKE THIRD TRIP. I then said NO I will not come back and how do I know theyll be right. So I ended up getting a refund for all but the extra eye exam they talked me into getting.I HAVE WORN GLASSES FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY GLASSES OR PRESCRIPTION.And to top it off while was there 4 other people were complaining about their glasses not being right or orders status MIA.

My rating is actually negative stars. My father came to this place and his experience has been a mess. His prescription was wrong. He had to see the doctor twice and it still wasnt right after a month of waiting. The so called Manager (Javier)tells my father to come for refund any time before 4pm. My father arrives around 2:40 PM just to be told that Javier left hours ago. What kind of business are you guys running? My dad may not be computer savvy but I am and I will spread the word about the bad business being conducted here. Horrible.

Worst experience ever , not with the doctor tho , she’s fine . But with this place and whatever lab they use . I asked 3 times how long is gonna take for my prescription sunglasses to get done because I’m going on vacation in 2 weeks and I need my prescription sunglasses because I can’t see without it . They said about a week. Now it’s 14 days and I’m still waiting ! And I’m going vacation tomorrow with no sunglasses. Not fair at all. UPDATE: 3 weeks now - and my glasses are not ready yet !!! Just WOW . What a mistake I made .
