Elyse is amazing. She’s so sweet and friendly with my 9 year old daughter. She takes the time to speak to her and make her feel comfortable with everything going on during the appointment. We are there often with a kiddo with super sensitive skin. Everyone in their office is amazing!

Very nice experience. I had only a short wait in the front waiting room. Doctor and staff were very professional and efficient, with a friendly manner. Dr.Spencer was very thorough in his visual exam of all skin zones. I recommend this group to others. By the way, they have a beautiful, modern office.

Love Dr. Spencer and his staff. I don’t know how they do it, but I can always get an appointment when I need it, and there is never a wait in the office. I have a toddler, so being able to get in and out of the office in under an hour allows me to make appointments while he has child care. I have a serious skin condition, and they are always compassionate and eager to help me access a new treatment when necessary and available. Dr. Spencer is knowledgeable about the latest biologics.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Long story short. I called to the office to make an appointment 3 days prior my visit. A young gentleman answered the phone , explained me all the procedures and gave me a price estimate including the biopsy of the company’s they work with . He told me about every single doctor so I can make my choice for the appointment. I picked Elyse Spencer, MPAS, PA-C for an available appointment in the morning.On the day of my appointment I showed up and it seems like the lady on reception couldn’t find any information about me . That was already a very unpleasant situation. While she was taking my information, she called a gentleman ( I suppose manager) trying to calm me down even though wasn’t necessary) saying that they actually have an open appointment right now . Really ? Maybe that’s the one I booked????Anyways, they told me that they don’t know who I spoke to, and that kind of person doesn’t even work there . She also took a picture from my phone to see the evidence that I did call to the office and was on the phone with the clinic for approximately 6-7 minutes. Then I decided to ask her about prices one more time since all this confusion that happened with the employee that doesn’t exist . I did mention a few times I was a self-pay patient and I need to know the amount now so I can make my decision about the services they going to provide. The lady at the front desk said the biopsy will be around $120 . I asked her what would be the total visit with biopsy and procedure and she said around $250. I agreed for the price and did whatever I came for .A week later I receive a bill from ProPath saying that I own them $250 for the biopsy . I called the office and asked to speak with the billing . Some gentleman answered the phone and in a very rude manner answered me that it’s not their fault and they won’t do anything about it . He kept saying that I signed the paper that he is going to send me . He also agreed that their front desk staff doesn’t know how to work and talk to the clients and they all not trained and again he won’t do anything about it . People sometimes forget completely about the customer service and who they are working for to be in business. That was the worst experience I have even had and won’t recommend that place if you prefer not to have headaches later on about surprise in your mail.

I had such a positive experience here being treated for my acne. The appointment was quick but not rushed. They listened to my backstory and provided me with options specific to fit my needs. They also were understanding that I didnt have insurance so they gave me affordable options. Meridith was who I had, very nice!

I was so pleased with my experience! The staff was professional and courteous, I was seen exactly at the time of my appointment, received the most thorough skin cancer screening, and was personally escorted throughout my visit. I had another issue of hair thinning and loss and was given an explanation of potential culprits and instructions on what to do next. Not only was this a wonderful experience, the office is aesthetically appealing. This will be my go to for skin care going forward!!!

I was very pleased with how I was treated by Dr. Spencer and his staff during my recent office visit. Dr. Spencer went the extra mile to make sure he answered all of my questions which I greatly appreciated. The front desk and nurse/PA staff were helpful as well. After my initial visit one year ago, I recommended DSSI to my wife and she was pleased with how she was treated as well.

I came to this office for a second opinion and to find a place that would be the right fit for me. The office met my expectations and Meredith, the PA was extremely good at explaining the medical assessment and making me feel comfortable. Our family loves Dr. Spencer. We have been with his practice for several years. Our teenagers have to go and see him on a regular basis and appointments are always easy and quick. He and his staff are always on time. Everybody is very friendly. Questions are always answered. We would not go anywhere else.

Meridith McGuffey, who works alongside Dr. Brent Spencer, is one of the finest, friendliest and most professional doctors Ive ever had the experience to meet. She has overseen my skin care with an interest found only in the best doctors. Ive been to other dermatologist in the Frisco area, but have found this Institute to be the best.

I had an appointment scheduled through my primary physician. The process was uncomplicated and check in was very efficient as I had already filled in the paperwork available on their website (recommend you do that). Once I was taken to the consultation room, Dr. Brent Spencer arrived soon after his assistant spoke with me - I really appreciated the short wait time. Dr. Spencer was professional, friendly, and efficient at diagnosing my case. He detailed the prognosis and treatment options. My visit was medical. They also have cosmetic and surgical services. The facility was welcoming, clean, and aesthetic - what youd expect from a dermatology clinic. They have water and a coffee machine at the lobby with enough parking spaces right outside.

I am extremely impressed with the clinic. I needed to have several areas on my back and shoulder looked at. The PA, Meridith, was very professional and made me feel comfortable. She decided to take two biopsies. Barely felt it. I highly recommend Dermatology and Skin Surgery for any dermalogical condition.

From the time I walked in their office until I finished my procedure, I was amazed at the kind and compassionate care given by their office staff!!! . Dr Spencer was very kind , knowledgeable and took excellent care during my procedure!! Would highly recommend!

In a recent visit I had to let the office know I was running 1 hour late. They were very accommodating, moved my appointment up by +1 hour and it all worked out fine, they slotted me in with no complaints. And yes, they were very busy and yet they still worked me in. Much appreciated.

The staff was great, very thorough at explaining what they were doing and what to expect. The only thing that stuck me as a bit odd was that when I was leaving, 2 different people asked me about how my experience was? It felt very spa like and not so much a doctors office. I had a biopsy done and it didnt seem like an appropriate question to ask. Maybe see who is a cosmetic patient and who is there for other reasons. I work in the medical field as well and I wouldnt never ask my patients how their experience was, I would ask them how THEY are doing. Seems more appropriate. Treat the patient as the person and less care about an experience.

My husband, John, has had several Mohs surgeries done by Dr.Spencer. Dr. Spencer requires perfection in everything he does including post-op skin grafts and suturing. Scaring is minimal if not virtually non-visible.Cant recommend him highly enough!!

I had Mohs surgery to remove a basal cell. The procedure went flawless - no pain, no issues. I had the stitches out yesterday. My friends say they can barely see where the incision was - no big scar was visible! Great job.Also a big shout out to Lisa - Dr Spencers nurse. She was great - put me at ease, laughed at my bad jokes and provided great care!

I have had only helpful and positive experience at DSSI. Lisa is a very friendly and encouraging nurse. I’ve seen two doctors and both were wonderful. I highly recommend this group. There is no aggressive product pushing, but they have effective products available.

Dr. Spencer is a wonderful Mohs surgeon. My recovery went smoothly and I really felt like my concerns were addressed. The office was very clear and fair about their office and procedure charges. Having been to other dermatologists, I could not be more pleased with my experience!

I dont usually leave reviews but i feel like they earned a 5 star on this one. Impressed with the quality of the experience. The medicine i was prescribed has almost made my rash disappear and ive only used it three times. Well within the two week range i was told it would take.

I first met Dr. Spencer when I came into his office to ask about shadowing him this summer. Dr. Spencer is young, but extremely knowledgeable. He almost immediately knows what is wrong, and has an answer or a plan. His office staff has always been more than nice, they seem to really care. Even though I live over 40 miles away from his office, I make the trip because he is worth it.

Just moved to the area from Michigan. My visit today with Dr. Spencer was fantastic. He was courteous, timely, efficient, and informative. Plus, he gave me a coupon for my medicine that makes it almost free to me. Definitely will return in the future and will recommend him to others.

Great Experience and Knowledgable Staff

I have been to the Dermatology & Skin Institute of North Texas many, many times. I have had several handfuls of Cherry Angiomas removed from all across my chest – (benign, non-cancerous, skin growths). They were very unattractive and I never felt comfortable wearing shirts unless they covered my neck and chest. Once they were removed they never came back and my skin across my chest is smooth and absolutely free of CAs. I have also had several facials, microdermabasion, (feels amazing) and chemical peels (my face looks amazing with no age spots anymore and I am 58)... I love the service I get at this Dermatologists office (and I have been to hundreds of derms-used to have a skin condition that required constant care. This office has all the latest up/coming laser equipment and since skin cancer runs in my family I am always comfortable asking Dr. Spencer to keep an eye my AKs (pre-cancerous growths). I feel 100% confident in the care I receive here and would never consider going to another Dermatologist. Everyone in the office is very friendly at all times and very professional and knowledgeable. Any negative review is NOT a reflection on this office...I can promise you that. Feel free to contact me for questions or additional information. P.S. Im not able to rate the office unfortunately. I was never able to see the physician. I was delined my appointment for being 8 mins late. My morning appointment ran longer then I had wanted. I did call the office 35 minutes before to advice them I could possible be a few minutes late. The male receptionist that I spoke to had to get an approval with the office manager. Once back on the line stated (after speaking with the office manager) we can only allow you to be 5 mins late being that today is Friday and we close early. Desperately rushing to keep my appointment (because it was booked out 1 1/2 weeks out before,from downtown Dallas) I pull up to the office 8 mins after my appointment time. I called to say I was in the parking lot (before getting my 11 month baby out) and if I could still be seen and the female that answer said she could rescheduled me. In simple words NO. I also work in the medical field. I understand rules and regulations are needed but exception are ok. Im sure the doctor is awesome, sad that the office staff was not more helpful. Im not asking for a response from the owner or a visit back to discuss the situation. This is just a simple review of MY experience with the office.

I havent had a proper checkup with a dermatologist for quite a few years, but after turning forty my girlfriend persuaded me to go in for a checkup. Ive previously had actinic keratosis, a precursor to skin cancer, and some of the skin spots and moles Ive developed since needed to be checked-out. I was very pleased with the service I got from Dr. Spencer at the Dermatology & Skin Surgery Institute! Hes fast, careful, and seems to know the very latest research on sun damage and skin treatments. He removed a questionable bumps and skin discolorations I had, and gave me advice about my occasional adult acne. The skin removal treatment was virtually painless and seems to be healing well. The clinic is located off the North Dallas Tollway, north of Plano and The Colony. I live and work in Coppell, and found the drive to not be all that bad.
